• Sascha (4/5): - Lage ist für die erste oder letzte Nacht in Ordnung, da sich die Unterkunft in der Nähe zum Flughafen befindet. Zimmer und Frühstück gut. Die umliegende Gegend nich ganz so schön. Leider war (obwohl wir unsere Ankunftszeit um 18 Uhr mitgeteilt hatten) ca. 3 Stunden keiner da und wir mussten mit unserem Gepäck in einem nahgelegenen Restaurant warten. Besonders ärgerlich wenn es sich um den Anreisetag handelt und man nach Flug und Co nur noch auf sein Zimmer möchte.

• Pedro (3/5): Mala experiencia - el baño Que no haya habido televisión y que haya respondido la dueña, muy suelta de cuerpo, que "el huracán había volado todo", cuando en la isla y en todos nuestros alojamientos previos pudimos ver televisión sin problemas. Lo que realmentre ocurre es que este alojamiento tiene un sistema obsoleto de televisión por cable y televisores viejos (no Smart TV). Es lógico que teniendo Smart TV y un internet potente no tendría que dar excusas baratas como la del huracan que se llevo el sistema de cable. Una caradurez. Nosotros necesitamos ver noticias y seguir nuestros programas. Ni siquiera pidio disculpas. Me tuvo cerca de dos horas tratando de arreglar el problema de tv y no dejó datos de contacto en la tarde noche para pedir ayuda o que resgtauren el servicio, pues se va y quedas a tu merced. Ni siquiera tuvo la deferencia de decirnos, cuando llegamos, que no tenia cable por ultimo para no hacerme perder casi dos hotras intentando arreglar algo que estaba malo. Ella espera que tengas el problema Y NO TE LO ADVIERTE. Muy mala experiencia. Tampoco me gustó que no hicieron la limpieza el primer día y solo se disculparon. diciendo "que se les pasó". Imaginen la bronca y el mal rato, en la noche sin tv y perdiendo dos horas y al otro día llegar a lo mismo pero sin limpieza. Finalmente, tampoco hay escritorio, cuando te lo prometen. Yo trabajo y tengo reuniones telematicas intensas en las mañanas temprano cerca de dos o tres horas. Y tuve que estar trabajando en un sillon de descanso con una mesa de luz, muy incómodo y terminas casi con dolor de espaldas. Y yo alquilé ahí pues prometian escritorio de trabajo, tv y limpieza. Una pésima experiencia con esta señora. En resúmen, prometen cosas que no tienen, luego no hay comunicación con nadie cuando llegas de las playas, y al día siguiente, en el desayuno, se limita a dar explicaciones insatisfactorias haciendose la simpática, pero cobra como si ofrreciera realmente lo que promete.

It might be noisy at night due to restaurant front, can’t blame the hotel for that, that’s the only reason why I would’nt book it again but can’t blame the front desk for that.

I don’t drive and couldn’t get local taxes . I had to bother people for a ride or for a chartered taxi

A very good local restaurant next door which serves very good food and value for money. Valerie and the staff were very helpful with all local enquiries. On the last day, Valerie kindly arranged a rental car from a reliable owner and delivered to us which was very helpful. Hopefully, we will come back again in future.
• Oliver (8/5): The best host and breakfast experience on Jamaica - Valerie is a brilliant host, we would vote for her with 10 stars if possible😀 She is just brilliant in giving great recommendations Her breakfast was just delicious and she is running the B&B with passion. Next to her house you find a good restaurant. It is a ten minute walk only to get to Doctors beach. The location is pretty noisy as directly next to a Main Street with crazy truck drivers who are addicted to make noises

• Cheryl (9/5): Excellent Hotel with Great Staff! - Room had aircon that was effective in keeping cool. The room came with a large enough fridge for storage of drinks/food. Amazing balcony view and area for outdoor eating/seating. Lobby area in the hotel was beautifully decorated and a great space to relax outside of the bedroom. The hotel was clean throughout. Breakfast served every morning was tasty and freshly prepared. Host and staff absolutely amazing and friendly, exceptionally helpful. Thank you both Whitney & Valarie. There was laundry service and early/late check out options. Location of hotel from airport is less than 10mins! Yet safely tucked off the main road with parking outside. Restaurant next door for dinner and another a short walk away. No mosquito netting on windows to prevent flies/mosquito entering bedroom. Off road traffic can be noisy during the day but calms down at nights. TV in the bedroom unfortunately didn't work during stay, however is scheduled to be fixed. The overhead light blinked constantly, bedside lamp was used instead which lit the room enough to resolve issue. Shower tiles needs re-tiling on shower floor and toilet seat fastened.

• Michael (10/5): Even though our stay was during Hurricane Beryl hitting the island and disruption to the power and water supplies our ho - We liked the location of the property, our room was very spacious with a large patio and views over the Bay. There was a lovely restaurant and bar next door, it was very comfortable and clean. There was nothing not to like we enjoyed everything.

• Cory (1/5): Worst decision that I have made in a long time. I was totally duped. - This place is a dump. Dark and dreary. Air conditioner did not work. Horrible location. I left after 30 minutes and the owner refused to refund the charge for the second night stay. I will take that up with my credit card provider. No air conditioning. One small light in the ceiling fan, so the room was dark, wet, and just overall nasty. Do not trust the photos, or the reviews, or the rating. This place is horrible.

• Brian (8/5): It was awesome and a real Jamaican stay! - The property was really nice with lots of pretty landscaping, plants and cool decorative things. We really liked the owner and staff. They made a delicious and full breakfast every morning and it was just so nice. They were helpful with anything you needed. The WiFi was out but they got it back quickly. The sink in the bathroom had terrible drainage and that was a real annoyance with brushing your teeth and washing the kids faces at night. But they will probably get that done asap.

• Lisa (8/5): A hidden gem! - The staff were awesome and accommodating. Breakfast every day was the highlight of our stay. The views were beautiful. There was plenty of running water. There is a great restaurant next door. This facility does not have a generator if electricity goes out, which happens often in Jamaica.

The breakfast every day was delicious and different, you could have Jamaican or American or fruit. It is a charming b&b with loads of personality. The night manager was often no where to be found. But that does not take away from the safe and secureness it’s just if you had a question or wanted to check anything he was not there.

• Marsha (10/5): Very Satisfied Traveler - I liked the very relaxing atmosphere of Mynt Retreat. It's not a beachfront resort so if that's what you're looking for you should keep searching. The only downside is that Mynt Retreat is located right off a VERY busy road!! You will hear vehicles large and small whizzing by, honking their horns, at all times of day and night! If you're a sound sleeper, good for you. If you're a light sleeper like myself, you may want to bring some earplugs if you want a restful night's sleep. I'm became ill while in Montego Bay and Valerie, the owner of Mynt Retreat, and her very loyal employees, Whitney and Suzette, took excellent care of me. Many thanks to all three of these wonderful hard-working women! The noisy road that was NOT the fault of Mynt Retreat.

Nice breakfast. Pleasant and helpful staff. Restaurant next door. The downtown and beaches were within the walking distance (ca 2 km). Loud noise from the street (big trucks started quite early)
• Victor (10/5): Great Bed and Breakfast - I really enjoyed my stay at Mynt B&B. I got to the hotel a little early and was still able to check straight into my room. Valerie is very personable and cares deeply about the well-being of her guests. The room was clean and like the pictures. The breakfast was delicious and freshly prepared. It was specially adapted to my gluteen intolerance. There are many beautiful beaches in the area. I can recommend Doctors Cave. A beautiful and quiet beach not far from the hotel where you can really unwind. In the end, Valerie organized a transfer to the airport for me. When the driver was more than 5 minutes late, she dropped me there herself free of charge. It's remarkable how she had a direct solution and answer for all of my little holiday problems. I can definitely recommend the hotel and will vacation there again.

A fruit platter beautifully prepared and presented each morning. Staff very friendly - more so the owner she was lovely. The views were stunning and the bed was e our ours and very comfy. There was also a nice bar and restaurant next door. There was also a very pretty garden to sit in as well as terrace. There were nice tables and chairs on shared terrace Some noise from the busy road down below. Not sunbeds were on the terrace.

Try and book a package holiday with a tour o - The breakfast was OK, Could have done with having a bit more choice There was not much choice and no bake beans The beach is only 10 minutes walk away but a steep downhill walk. So walking back to the hotel was very difficult. To use a taxi it cost us £20 return for a 5 min drive The airport is only 3 minutes away and it cost us £15

• Leslie (10/5): Safe, peaceful, healing - I loved the Zen like atmosphere oozing from the entire property. My favourite is the communal area on the first floor with the picture perfect window view. Marrakesh room room is the best. It is worth paying the extra for the rooms with a balcony.
• Melanie (8/5): Great place to stay! - Valerie was definitely a highlight. She is such a warm and caring person who goes out of her way to help you out and share information about the area. Suzette who cooked the breakfast and looked after the rooms was also a delight every morning. It was a pleasure relaxing in the garden (we spent a whole day away from the crowds just relaxing and reading) and we even got to see Steve the hummingbird. Valerie suggested a brilliant driver, Isobel, who really took care of us. Although it is away from the main area there is a restaurant next door which serves delicious escovitch fish (red snapper). Nothing to dislike :)

I also appreciated the breakfast. the floors in the room looked very dirty. but I think it just needed a good waxing. I didn’t get the code to the door and got locked out one night. thankfully someone answered the phone because it was very late.(I wasn’t given the door code)other than that I really liked the property.
• Michèle (9/5): Superb - The B&B is surrounded by a beautiful green garden. The breakfast is served on a little terrace, just amazing and delicious. The owner Valerie is an angel. She is so helpful, honest and real and absolutely understands the guests needs. I felt sick and she cooked a tee with herbs from the garden for me. We loved Mynth Retreat and can reccomend it 100% and would come back at any time. The Retreat is an oasis and super close to the airport. However you are a bit away from Restaurants, Shops etc. But it's still possible to walk there in like 20 min or get a driver.

Really well located - a pretty easy 20 minute walk down to the strip, mere minutes by taxi. Highlight without a doubt was Valerie, Whitney and the rest of the staff who made us feel so relaxed and welcome! Thank you so much for a brilliant Christmas stay - we'll definitely be back!!

• John (10/5): Exceptional - We loved our stay at Mynt Retreat! Valerie was so helpful and kind. She went above and beyond to help us get acclimated to her country, plan our vacation, and getting around safely. Breakfast was phenomenal- highly recommend the Jamaican breakfast. Mynt is on the side a mountain with beautiful views of the ocean from the patio. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. Peppas restaurant next door had really good authentic Jamaican food for a fair price. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. It is a 20 minute walk from most major activities like Doctors Cave Beach and the hip strip. At night, I would definitely take the taxis though because of traffic and lack of street lights. There used to be a free shuttle service once a day to the beach, but had to be discontinued due to rising transportation costs. It is now $15 a trip, taxis will ask for $20, but you can usually negotiate a better fare. During the day we usually walked.

The property was clean, relaxing and felt like a little retreat. Our room was spacious, both air con and fan, comfortable beds. The manager went out of her way to help us. My favourite thing was the restaurant that was connected to the hotel by a short path called peppas, great vibe, food, music and rum punch at reasonable prices. Would definitely stay again. The water pressure isn't great but I did manage to wash my hair which is long with no problem.

The room and view was wonderful. The man the greeted at the locked gate when we arrived was unfriendly ad unwelcoming. The water pressure and temperature was really poor.

• Larrisha (10/5): Pure Jamaica Love! - We just Loved the experience there. The staff was amazing, food was delicious, the ocean view was perfect, it felt like home to us. We will most definitely return to this magical Jewel!!! There’s nothing I didn’t like. I Loved everything about this place.

• Alexis (6/5): overall it was a good value for the money but I was expecting different - the breakfast and the balcony the location, water issues and the “free” ride to the beach everyday. Only one fridge and microwave in the staff room however if we asked we were allowed to use it. The restaurant and bar is not part of the retreat it’s next door.

• Wendy (8/5): Short trip to Jamaica- Single female - The host Valerie was great and accommodating. She always answered any questions I had prior to my visit and arranged her drive to pick and drop me back ro the hotel. To travel as a single woman I felt safe. Hat stayed in addition all night cause my flight got canceled back home And I was a community for an additional night. Nothing really. It was a nice and safe place to sleep for a night or two.
