- Pamela (10/5): - The Garland Hotel in New Concord is my new go-to as a half-way stop between NJ and IL! I loved the cleanliness, service, decor -- everything! The staff even graciously allowed me to check in early when I arrived before 3:00 -- a great comfort in an area where there's no nearby shopping or dining. I'm actually looking forward to my return trip next week and the promise of a good night's sleep in a lovely hotel. I'll just make sure I bring food with me : )

- Beverly (10/5): Clean, comfortable, affordable - The room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. It’s so rare that I find a room that is that clean in any hotels so this was a treat. I love that the toilet was had a semi-privacy wall from the sink and shower. I forgot to take pictures of the bed, but there were ample pillows and a soft duvet. Breakfast offered hot and cold options, juice, coffee, and lemon water.

The cost of lodging with free breakfast is well worth the money. The refrig and freezer compartment actually work. I would recommend they shampoo the carpet spills. The property is 11 years old but you would not know it.

Room and amenities exceptional, esp shower. Our roof was on fifth floor, so we could hear the rain pounding down on roof. Loved that👍 The aircon thermostat didn’t seem to work so it had cooled the room to down 62F, by 2:30 am! I had set it at 69 when we got into room! Soo turned it completely off, we could sleep and not shiver😂 Would highly recommend your establishment and we will be back in future😎
- Lauren (4/5): - The cost was the cheapest in the area for the weekend I booked, which was my incentive for booking. The check in was not the best though. We arrived around 4:30 and we walked in to no one at the counter and no bell or anything to ring. I gave them the benefit of the doubt but it almost turned into 15 minutes of standing there waiting before any worker came back, which was frustrating. Calling the front desk did not even get anyone’s attention. Then the next day, I returned to my room in the evening and neither card would get me in. I had to get them rescanned at the desk by a different employee who informed me the other worker failed to check we booked more then one day, and apparently that had happened more then once already with other guests. No other further issues besides that, however. The room was nice, large and had perfectly comfortable beds. There were many stains on almost all the carpets in the room and the hallway, though which was unpleasant.

- Nicole (6/5): Experience has declined - Review Draft (Sharper): This is our third stay in 4 months, and the experience continues to decline. The pool has been closed since June with no explanation, the breakfast is consistently cold and unappetizing, and the front desk is almost never staffed or unfriendly. We love tje proximity to Muskingham but we will look at other options for our next 3 visits

- Kim (8/5): - The garland is so convenient to stay at along route 70 in Ohio. The hotel is nice looking inside the lobby and our room was very large. The room could use a couch or loveseat to fill the space and make it more comfortable to lounge in the room. The bathroom was a great size but it would be nice to have more than one hook to hang clothes or towels on. My only real complaint about the property or our stay was that the carpeting in the main hallways and elevators are all very stained. The room carpeting was not stained just all the common areas. It appears that it could be housekeeping procedures that are causing all the staining but hopefully a good cleaning on all those hallways and a discussion with staff could improve their condition.
- Miriam (8/5): Overall, nice stay. - My King bed room was very roomy. I like that we had a little kitchenette and a nice size fridge. Facing the back, as I requested, was appreciated. The rain shower was nice, thought the attached hand held shower head did not work. The one thing I noticed and let the front desk know twice was that the drawers in the room were not cleaned and hard to tell when it was last cleaned because they were pretty dusty. There was also a strand of long black hair in the one drawer. This was a real turn-off as I had requested to make sure the room was completely cleaned. The breakfast was very good, many options and not the same every day. It was well stocked as well. The hotel was being updated so the carpeting in the halls, stairs, lobby were very stained. I understand this. My friend’s room was one that was not updated yet. She had a hand held shower head that was hung very high that she had a hard time reaching, and didn’t come down low enough to rinse well. Originally, she was going to be on a different floor, perhaps that room was one of the updated ones. But I asked if there was any on my floor and they gave her this one. The ladies at the front desk were very pleasant. The place felt fresh and airy, very open. The one thing people complained about was that the pool was closed. This was still the case when we were there. No explanation why it’s been closed for so long. I took videos, wish I could upload those on here.
- Verified traveler (10/5): 10/10 Experience - 10/10. Very clean hotel. Very spacious rooms. Conveniently located off the highway. The only improvement I would suggest is to better their breakfast served. Overall, I would recommend staying there.
- Tara (8/5): - The location was right off of the interstate so it was really easy to get to. The decor on the inside is trendy and well done. The pool and hot tub were not open while we were there but that wasn't a deal breaker for us. But if you want a pool you may want to call before you go to see if it is opened. The fitness gym is small but good quality machines. We didn't eat breakfast there so I can't comment on that. The only issue we had was the carpets were very stained all over the hotel. The bed, bathroom and everything else was immaculate so I am not quite sure why they haven't addressed the carpet situation. The shower was fantastic! Best we have ever had in a hotel. We will stay here again. But the carpets need to be cleaned or replaced.

- Shannon (10/5): - This was one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed at. Even though it had been there 10 years, it looked new and fresh. Very clean and friendly staff. The rooms were spacious with extra seating. The shower was huge. The area around the hotel is nice as well as there is a patio with a seating area and a fire pit. Complimentary cookies, coffee, tea and milk for my son. We were very impressed by The Garland Hotel and would definitely stay there again.
- Steven (8/5): Almost in the dark - The front desk service was fast and easy. The room was very nice and clean. The bathroom was clean with a really nice shower. The bed was really comfortable. The only issue was half the lights didn’t work. We were tired and didn’t call to complain,as we were there to shower,sleep,and leave early. Didn’t really need the lights anyway. The breakfast was also really good. I will definitely stay again when im back in the area.

Cons: towels were small and worn out /torn. Shower head was located too high on the wall and could not adjust the direction of the water spray. Hall way floors are stained. Breakfast was poor. Premade Scrambled eggs and pancakes were overcooked. Overall would give 3.5.

We were disappointed to find out the hot tub and pool were out of order (maybe maintenance) and the bar has been removed from the hotel. Will def go back.

- Kimberly (8/5): Locked in the bathroom - Fairly new hotel so it was very nice, except for the carpeting in the hall and our room. The room was huge, the beds were comfy, and the shower was great. The only negative was when I shut the bathroom door I was locked inside the bathroom, and my husband had to call down to the front desk for someone to bring a big screwdriver to bust me out. It didn’t take very long, and the breakfast made up for it.
- Autumn (10/5): - absolutely awesome hotel, super clean, great ammenities, drinks/cookies available all hours, NBA playoff game was playing in the general area downstairs so we could watch that down there while some of my family were in the room watching something else on tv. Its very new, great balcony with view, very clean, huge bathrooms and showers, nice beds. I would VERY highly recommend.

- Tracie (6/5): - The style and staff were excellent but I didn’t sleep well at all. The bed was so uncomfortable, I felt springs. And it was super loud from outside traffic. So loud I had to use ear plugs and it still didn’t drown it out. In all, it was a lovely hotel and staff were very friendly and helpful. But I won’t stay there again because of the terrible bed. I’m not sure if it was just my bed or if they’re all like that but I doubt I’ll try again to find out.

Don't normally do these reviews, but had driven by this hotel on the hill along I-70 so many times, so forced myself to stay here and not our usual St. Clairsville. This hotel had more room than most room, great beds, great show, above average breakfast, and super quiet. The floors are very thick concrete, so not susceptible to noisy people above you syndrome.

Im 6 foot and i had to stretch to get the shower head off the holder. Water pressure was good. The hot breakfast was your normal hotel food, not just a bagel but wasn’t freshly paid for restaurant style food. A good varity selection.

Room was big and roomy. The breakfast bar and sink were useful. Had a microwave and good size frig. The bathroom was big and clean. Shower was a big walk in shower with nice dark tile. And the room had a small balcony which was great to be able to just step out for a smoke. Overall i would recommend if you are in the area. I would choose here over any of the normal competitors off the highway.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Time at The Garland - Had a great time at The Garland! Friendly staff, homemade cookies and coffee/juices were available on arrival! Very clean throughout the hotel, incredibly large room with balcony, comfortable beds. Hot and delicious breakfast included, with many choices. We loved the biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage, and pancakes! All at an absolutely incredible price. Bonus: Sheetz is nearby with anything else you might want/need. If you want to use the pool, call first to see if it’s open; based on other reviews it usually is not, which we don't mind.
