• Eric (10/5): Great for long stays - Great reasonably priced hotel for long stays. Full kitchens and laundry facilities. all the staff is great. Housekeeping is outstanding.
• John (10/5): Very roomy, nice rooms, beautiful roof - Very large room and nice roof. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The location is very central to everything. The ONE thing is say is the key card didn’t always work, but this was super minor. This is where we will book on our annual trip to Playa.

When we arrived they told us the room was not ready, so we decided to go to the centre, when we came back they told us the fridge in our room was not working ( we booked that hotel because we needed a kitchen/ fridge available). We therefore requested to change room but they didn’t have one available so they offered us a 50% discount which it never arrived, they kept saying it was on the way but it wasn’t. A proper scam! Don’t trust the good reviews

• Ayabetravelin (10/5): Comfortable and Quiet Stay - Loved my stay here. It was a very cute apartment style hotel and the bed was super comfortable. It's on 10ave awaybfrom the busier 5th but still has quite the scene and much to do surrounding it. You have a few breakfast places, a 7/11 other small corner stores, a grocery store is a block away and good restaurants on 10th and around the corner. Definitely check out Rockas which is a few blocks up 10th Ave.

• mila727 (8/5): Honest review of Newport House Playa - I stayed here for over a week and really was very happy with my stay. The location was great, the staff was wonderful, and the ability to use bikes for free was definitely a highlight. The accommodations are spacious, bed and bedding is great and comfortable. They do supply some coffee and sugars to start but otherwise you will need to get everything else you need for cooking as well as any drinking waters. I did ask for some salt at front desk and they were able to provide which was very much appreciated. Water pressure in the shower is very weak but I think this is the standard in Playa. The hotel supplied beach towels and even a small beach bag in the room. The beach bag fit perfectly in the basket of the hotel bikes. I will say again, the staff was so great and helpful. The value of this place was great for the price but I do have to say that right after I returned when I was already planning to go back to PDC and was interested in re-booking Newport House, that the prices are now 3 times higher than when I was booking. And this is now the standard price for the remainder of the year. The value was great for the price I paid but at these new prices I will unfortunately not be going back to NHP as there are many other great, affordable options in the area in a similar price range to what I paid originally.

• Ann (10/5): - I absolutely loved the time we spent at this hotel, it felt very upscale while still being very affordable. Everything about this hotel was very well thought out, from the pool and the shaded sunbeds perfectly placed around and the shower and washroom available on the pool deck so you didn't have to go down to your room to use the facilities to the rooms amenities. Having a full size fridge in the room made having chilled drinks and snacks available at all times was great. Even the washroom set up was so well thought out, in our washroom there was 2 rooms, one with a shower and a sink and the other with a toilet and a sink so 2 people could use a sink and mirror at the same time making the getting ready process very quick. There was black out curtains in the bedroom and regular curtains in the living space with doors separating so sleeping in or getting up early was very easy. The area itself is so close to 5th Ave but far enough that you don't catch any noise. The beach was a short 10 minute walk from the hotel but if the beach was too busy the pool area was a great substitute. The gentleman working at the front desk were so kind, from the minute we walked into the perfectly air condititines and clean scented (it literally sment like clean laundry all through the hotel, it was incredible) hotel we felt completely at ease. The kind and gentle demeanor from all the hotel staff was enough for us to want to come back again. I cannot wait to return to the Newport house Playa!!
• Chad (10/5): - The hotel staff were excellent. I had a spacious room that was very clean. There was a minor inconvenience of the refrigerator in the room being broken, but the staff were great about letting me use the mini fridge at their desk. The roof deck is small but very nicely decorated.

• Louise Charlotte (10/5): - It was my second stay at this property, as I really liked it the first time around. The area is developing quickly and it's not as quiet as the first time I was there, but on the other hand that means more dining options nearby. The location is perfect if you want to be outside the party district but still within easy walking distance of bars, shops and restaurants, and the area felt very safe. Parking our rental car on the street below was easy, but you do have to pay and there's a 6 hour limit between 10 am and pm, so we generally parked a few streets away where it's free. The apartment itself was clean and comfortable, and the rooftop area is a nice place to chill after daytrips. The kitchen is perfect for having breakfast or heating food in the microwave but not super well equipped if you're counting on cooking more advanced meals there. This worked for us since there are so many great restaurants nearby anyway! The staff was always friendly and helpful.

Love the staff, very clean, spacious, quiet and comfortable. Very modern property away from the craziness of 5th Ave. We booked them last minute to avoid Hurricane Hilary. So happy our family left early so we could enjoy a fantastic couple of days in Playa! We will be back!

The only reason I gave four star for "Area around the property" is that the hotel seems to be at the end of the tourist area and everything past the hotel is residential and beaten up neighborhood yet it's safe to walk around.

The facilities were nice and clean and the rooftop pool was perfect for our lazy days. The staff is super friendly and helpful, too!

There’s a huge grocery store down a few blocks that has everything and it’s also a block of of 5th so it’s quiet. The rooftop area is the icing on the cake and the staff does an amazing job. Apparently in room 201 you have to turn the valve just halfway (in the normally cold area) to get hot water, not the normal extended turn to the right where the hot water should be. The sofa bed room does not have blackout curtains so the person sleeping there had a lot of light coming in at night. Our room was street facing and the street lights were bright and neighboring dogs for barking throughout the night. I think if you're getting this hotel room for around $100-$150/night it's a good option, however, there's a lot of options in that price range in that neighborhood. The staff was friendly and the rooftop pool was nice but they need to replace the cushions.

Rooftop pool is small but has great views. Close to 5th Ave and the beach. Lots of restaurants nearby. No gym but you have access to bikes and paddle boards. Had good AC and was very quiet for sleeping.
• Shelley Ann (10/5): - We were very happy with our stay at Newport House. There was nothing that disappointed us. The housekeeping staff always went beyond to make our place clean and inviting. There talent at making things out of towels was beyond amazing, always put a smile on our face. The reception staff we very friendly and always did everything to please us and provided us with great knowlege of the area. We even suggested rented out chairs and umbrellas and the next day that was avaiable to us. The hotel was clise to everything. Got to eat at some amazing resturants. We were close to grocery store, only a few blocks to beach and enjoyed been able to walk 5th ave every night. All in all we definetly will return, they made us feel like we were at home. Loved it all

• Jmom63 (10/5): Relaxing escape - Clean modern little boutique hotel (15 suites) at quieter reach of Playa. Easy taxi access on 10th. One block to 5th, easy walk (the avenues go up in increments of 5, not one by one) About one km to beach. Beautiful breezy sanctuary rooftop pool area, which we enjoyed most afternoons when the beach was too hot. Friendly helpful staff. Bikes available for use. Rooms have all necessities for in room cooking to change it up from dining out. No oven...but has cook top, microwave, full refrigerator, toaster, blender, coffee press. Great A/C. Comfortable bed...pillows a bit puffy.(..but we never asked if there were other pillow options). Perfect for our needs Definately recommend!
• Eldon (10/5): - Hotel was in a good location for us because it was close enough to easily walk to the busy 5th Ave, but far enough to not let noise affect us. We were able to walk to the beach, to supermarkets, and even to colectivo station and even Playacar. We enjoyed the rooftop pool and used the daybeds and pool much more than we usually do at hotels. It was never crowded and and very relaxing. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this hotel for those that want to avoid the crowded all inclusive hotels.

• Hollie (6/5): - I read the reviews and looked at pictures of Newport House and was excited to stay there. It was just "okay" But okay is okay. The location was ideal; close to the beach and 5th avenue. The selection of neighborhood eateries were great. My room was nice, but the refrigerator did not work and the washing machine did not work. The was sad because I looked forward to storing fruit and yogurt in the frig. They did offer me to use the frig by the desk. Overall, I would stay there again, but not sure it would be my first choice.

• lionheart15 (10/5): Great hotel! - I loved this hotel. I really liked this location. It was near the quieter side of the pedestrian zone, near tons of vegan/veggies options, and near the beach. The hotel itself was quiet, had super good sheets, towels, comfortable bed, and had a beautiful rooftop pool. Extra little touches were a French press, apartment style, and black out curtains in the room. If I was to travel to Playa again, I would definitely stay here.

Apartment is great, my recommendation is to have a few pre packaged salt, pepper, laundry detergent, and oil. It would make cooking a lot easier. The pool is small but the roof top is super cozy and peaceful.
• Talon (10/5): - Booked here last minute after another hotel fell through. I think it was meant to be, because this hotel was better than I could imagine. Modern, clean, and about a 5 minute walk into the heart of 5th Ave. Just a few more minutes from there to several beach access points. The staff was very friendly and helpful in booking taxis, providing food suggestions, and directions to the supermarket. It’s a smaller hotel with only a few rooms per floor. We found it to be fairly quiet during our stay, with no issues from other guest or outside noises. The entry is controlled and there is security out front during certain hours of the day. We loved the small kitchen as it gave us a place to store bottled water and cook breakfast on the days we had early tours. We had no concerns about the safety of ourselves or security of our items. In fact upon checkout they stored our suitcases while we left for a scheduled activities and everything was still there when we returned. Would definitely recommend for a worry free stay!
• BucketListTravel2022 (10/5): First time to Mexico! Phenomenal Place to Stay!! - Excellent Stay!!! Shower slippery when wet. If you’re prone to falls just be extra careful. Water was very hot and great water pressure. Hotel staff very helpful and kind. House keepers made cute little figures with towels every day. Rooms very clean!! Hotel extremely quiet! Bed is super comfortable! No bar or restaurant in hotel but only 2 blocks walk to 5th Ave for entertainment and shopping. Everything was super convenient. Hotel staff called cabs for us when needed. Will definitely stay again!! Newport House got it right! You will love it!! Full kitchen and washer and dryer is a plus!!!

• Louise (10/5): - I absolutely loved this little aparthotel! We didn't cook there as there are so many great dining options nearby, but being able to have breakfast in our apartment before leaving for day trips was extremely convenient. The design is modern and the plants give it a tropical touch. Perfect location within walking distance of anything you could need: restaurants, bars, shops, beach, etc. There was no noise at night and the area felt very safe. Gorgeous rooftop terrace with a little pool, great place to chill. The staff was consistently helpful and friendly. The kind of place that really feels like home while you're staying there!
• Dean (10/5): - This property is super. The staff is outstanding and nice. Great room we had comfortable bed and bedding. Love the cool neighborhood really close to things but also not touristy. Great new upscale supermarket s as ms lots of restaurants.
• David (10/5): - This hotel is well located off the heavy traffic of Quinta, but in walking distance of great restaurants and supermarket. Property is well kept. Great stay.

• refazio (10/5): The best place you can find in Playa Del Carmen - The apartament was great. A lot of space. As you can see on Google, it's not in front of de beach, but you can walk 5 minutes and you can find one of the best beach of Playa. And a block from a hotel you can reach the pedestrial street and walk to the center.
• Catherine (10/5): - Staff here are very kind. The location is accessible with taxi and is safe since theres guard at night. Room is spacious, clean, and is very comfortable.Beach 5 min walk,will def come back.
• condon37 (10/5): Really Great Value in Playa Del Carmen - This place seems like it should cost twice the price that it does (in my humble opinion). I really recommend it to anyone looking for a luxe experience at a reasonable price. Really great place for families as well (we stayed with our 3 year old daughter), and the place was great all around.
• Anastasiya (10/5): - We had a great time staying at the Newport house. The hotel was conveniently located one block from the fifth Ave (the main street in Playa), so it was relatively quiet in the evenings, but still within walking distance. The room was clean, beautifully decorated, and had a small kitchen. The staff were very knowledgeable, friendly, and assisted us with every question that we had. Juan especially has gone above and beyond to respond to any inquiry. We highly recommend this place!
• Daniel (10/5): - All that are written about this hotel are true! I will go back again in a heartbeat. Clean, spacious, quiet. Good security. Enjoyed roof top deck. Only wish the bicycles were available ( at the time only one was in working condition )
• Tyrone A (10/5): - Well I like the fact that it wasn't too tall, am not crazy about very tall high rise hotels and I like the style of having a pool on the roof top. Thought that was pretty cool. Friendly and helpful staffs.
• Leslie (6/5): - Love the hotel and floor plan. Found long blond hair on the sink at check-in (we have blank kinky hair). The sheets were not changed as requested. Only changed towels once. The worst thing was that my daughter's Bluetooth speaker was stolen from the pool area. We told the front desk and they blew it off. They have cameras at the pool and did not choose to look at them to find out the thief. It's a very small hotel so it should have been easy to find out. The room and bed are very comfortable unfortunately there was a constant dog barking.

• Malena0909 (10/5): Nice staff and clean, comfortable stay - Beautiful suites with everything you need for a comfortable stay. My room even had a stackable washer dryer. There were two sinks. The bed is very comfortable and an extra person can sleep on the couch which has removable cushions. There is a French press but I didn't get a chance to use it. There's a small balcony with two chairs. Staffers Juan Ramón, Uriel and Desi were helpful and friendly. The hotel has an agreement with a beach club where you rent the beach chair for half price. I didn't get to use the pool. On my return to Playa del Carmen I'll definitely stay at the Newport. It's close to Quinta Avenida.
• 40shanaz (10/5): Amazing! - The location was amazing, the staff was extremely nice and helpful. The room was very nice, big, and clean. The location was perfect, right now the street from 5th Ave. Also amazing rooftop pool! Highly recommend booking!
• B9974BTenriqueg (10/5): Awesome clean stay, secret get away - If you’re a couple looking to get away from all the loud activity on the fifth Avenue this is the place for you, very clean hotel only 7 to 10 minute walk to all the fun, very cozy and most importantly very clean, the house is very nice and they are very welcoming, Oxxo store across the street is very very convenient
• Jeffery (10/5): - Newport House Playa is a great, quiet, clean place to stay when in Playa del Carmen. It offers exceptional value, has a simple check in/check out process and the front desk staff really go above and beyond to offer suggestions to help make your stay in P.D.C and surrounding area comfortable. Very walkable- 5th avenue (the nice, less touristy portion) is ony a couple of blocks away. If you want the beach, it is also walkable.

• Gina (6/5): - We traveled as a family of 4 so we enjoyed having the extra space of a villa vs a hotel room. Having a washer/dryer was also awesome- being in the cenotes, on dusty roads and in the ocean made tfor many daily dirty clothes. I booked the Newport House based on reviews but have to admit it fell short in the cleanliness department. It was ok but definitely not above average. The location is good but wasn't necessarily in the heart of things. If you're on a tight budget with a family and want to stay fairly close to downtown Playa, this would be a nice place to stay. In hindsight, we would have spent a little more to get a cleaner place with a few more amenities (the house did not have some of the basics like a few test size detergents for laundry, kitchen linens and other small things that you hate to buy for a few nights stay).

• RICHARD (10/5): Great Apartment - Great apartment wonderful greeting by Jacqi Clean well equipped room even washer dryer. Coffee furnished. Good breakfast at Zorro. Quiet yet 7 minutes from 5th Ave in Safe local neighborhood. 15 minutes to beach. We highly recommend Chichen Itza with GreyLine and Atv Rent a Buggy. Hijas Tostada Restaurant. Loved Playa del Carmen.
• Maeve (10/5): - We were helped by Jackie at the front desk who could not do enough for us. She was very helpful day & night with all our queries & booked a trip to Chicken Itza for us which was great. Our apartment was just as described and bldg was quiet but in walking distance to the beach & restaurants. We used the pool on 2 occasions & it was a nice alternative . Pool furniture was very comfortable.
• Jeremy (10/5): A little slice of heaven - One of the nicest hotels in which I've ever stayed! Great suite, balcony, pool and rooftop deck, bath robes, and in a great location.
• NY2020 (8/5): - We liked the location because we weren’t thinking about going to the beach in Playa del Carmen everyday. This location is away from the noise of 5th Ave but close enough that you can walk everywhere. Walking to the beach takes about 15-20 min. It worked for us since the week we stayed we were always going to new places outside Playa del Carmen. I couldn’t rent the hotel paddleboard because it was $50. At the beach you can rent it for $20. Everything was great, the staff, the cleanliness, having a kitchenette, etc. the rooms need more hooks to hang towels. I didn’t want to change my towels everyday but had to because we couldn’t hang them. I also wanted to hang my PJs, and bathing suits but again there was just one hook in the entire apartment and a towel rack. The kitchenette had the essentials but it lacked Tupperware with lids and some clips to close food bags. We are happy we stayed here because it felt more like we were residents of Playa rather than tourists.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing place to stay! - Our flight got in early and we arrived 4 hours before check-in. The staff were amazing and let us use the staff washroom/showers to freshen up. They also let us go up to the roof top pool to wait and gave us towels in case we also wanted to go to the beach to kill time. And they let us check-in early to our room for no charge. This was the start of the amazing service we received while staying here. Besides the service, the place was very clean and the cleaning staff made sure everyday that it was clean. We didn't put the cleaning sign on one day and they called to check if we wanted the service. The place had a small kitchen with everything you could need for the stay including a french press coffee maker. They also gave us free coffee every time we ran out. We can't say enough good things about this place but the best part about it was the extremely relaxing rooftop pool with lounging pods. Great chill music played all day and the pool changes color at night. This place is far enough from fifth that there wasn't any of the noise from that street and we thought it was pretty quiet at night. Definitely recommend taking the free bikes for a ride up to Playa Esmeralda to see the open water cenote. Overall, this place met and exceeded our expectations--we can't recommend it enough!
