Guest Reviews
- Christine (2/5): - They have held my security deposit for over 6 months and I have yet to receive it back. I’ve called over 7 times and they keep telling me it should reflect in my account in 15 business days. I consistently get the run around and they refuse to transfer me to upper management.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I liked the apartment style that allowed us to have more space for our trip.
We waiting over an hour for them to show up to give us our key and no one picked up the phone when we called about 30 times. Also, still waiting on my deposit back and our trip was two weeks ago.
- Tim (4/5): - The photos of the property were not accurate. The room we booked was pictured to come with a balcony with ocean view, instead we got no balcony and a view of a brick wall. The check-in process was really confusing and the staff handling the check-in process were difficult to get a hold of and seemed very confused.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Difficult to get into the building and communication with the keys, homeless people all around the sidewalks. Huge rats were around the front door at night. Trying to get into the building when the door opened. Had to walk around homeless people sleeping on the sidewalks next to the entrance. Had Homeless people yelling all night, not a comfortable area to walk around after night fall. We left a day early because I didn’t feel comfortable walking around and definitely didn’t feel safe walking over homeless people next door
Lack of sleep from the yelling and the construction outside made for a miserable stay. We had 3 rooms. One was never used and no credit or reduced rate was offered. Will never use Travelocity or pelican again. Not a good fit for us
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Almost impossible to find ans get into. No amenities, not clean. The only good thing I have to say about the -lace is that it was close to where I needed to be. I would not list this place if I were your business.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The 2 bedroom was not ready for check in. Had to stay in 2 different units. Have not received refund from the 1 bedroom or security deposit.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice enough place, careful with your banking info - Pros: located about half way between the sports fields and the Pike Place area, close to Pioneer Square, the waterfront and within walking distance to many attractions. The old viaduct is being taken down so the view of the waterfront will soon be even better.
Cons: dirty and smelly area, homeless people making noise and causing a fuss, wouldn't feel safe at night alone.
Worst: no on site concierge. The night before our stay the company sent an urgent email asking for our credit card info so they could charge parking (we parked elsewhere) and our second night. I had read three reviews online that others had fraudulent charges due to this. When I got home I dealt with numerous people (call centre?) via email about the charges and none seemed to know or understand what the others had already dealt with. They tried to overcharge us (they still wanted the fully refundable damage deposit paid after our stay was complete) and tried numerous times to charge our credit card (but only had partial information so it wouldn't go through). I sent a bank draft in full and they still wanted more until, using their numbers, I showed that they actually owed me a $16US refund, at which point they said they had misunderstood and we owed nothing further. Very hard to deal with a company such as this - stick with an actual hotel for peace of mind.
Must do's in the area: Columbia Center Sky View Observatory, Seattle Underground Tour, Cow Chip Cookies (so good!)
- Dontstayhere (6/5): - Not what you would expect at all booking with Orbitz. This would have been a below average experience through air BnB. We booked last August and the first red flag is when the property started messaging us saying they couldn't run our card a few weeks before coming even though we had paid in advance. They told us to contact orbitz which we did and said we had paid in advance. The property continued to tell us we needed to give them a new card which was very sketchy. Next they don't give you an address to go to until your in the area and call. The unit is NOTHING like the photos, layout is way different and you stare into a brick wall with the large window in the living room. The sheets had stains, dirt , and smelled of weed even with small spiced of weed on them.Biggest issue is when we booked they property accepted dogs and we even messaged them to confirm we were bringing ours. My wife went to take our dog out on the rooftop potty pad and was approached by the building manager who took our room number telling her we weren't allowed to have pets? The next night when at the baseball game we were texted telling us our fob wouldn't get us into the building so we had to get int touch with their onsite guy when we got back. Poor guy is up late waiting by the door only for us and other folks to be able to get in with nothing wrong with our Fobs. He was the only pleasurable experience of the whole trip. There is no way this place should be an orbitz property.
- Maria (10/5): Felt like home - It was wonderful the whole family loved it. William was great. We would definitely stay there again.
- Amin (10/5): I love Seattle - Awesome apartment, Beautiful views, and Excellent location. I will definitely be back.
- Ronald (6/5): Would not Recommend - The inside of the condo was clean and organized. The kitchen was fully stocked, as advertised. However, there were no kitchen knives for cutting so cooking would be difficult. The condo is across the street from a homeless shelter....literally. The pictures are very misleading - the view out of our window was looking at the side of another building. There was no patio. The street noise at night was absolutely overwhelming - Anyone who is sensitive to noise would not get any sleep. When we arrived for check-in, we called the company and they could not tell us where to go, who would be letting us into our condo, no information - even though we called from the airport and said we were heading that way. We literally stood on the side of the street, with our luggage, waiting like idiots. By shear luck, the cleaning team happened to pass us and was able to take us to the room. When departing, we wanted to store our luggage, because our flight was not until 3pm, but checkout was 11. That was also not an option. The unit supervisor, William, was unresponsive and rude when we tried to communicate about luggage. Anyone who has standards, would not be happy or satisfied at this establishment. It met the bare minimum of my needs
- Christopher (8/5): Not too shabby - Perfect stadium district location and a great value with really good views. Walking distance to pikes market or inexpensive Uber. Many restaurants and bars invthevimmediate area
- Keasara (2/5): Will never book a Pelican Stay again! - We received a call the day of our arrival that they had to move us to a different building because our apartment had been ruined by a previous guest. We had booked the stay at this particular location because it was so close to our friends house we were visiting. Due to THEIR change of the reservation, we asked them to cancel and refund us. We explained the situation over and over again to them. They refused and moved us about a half mile further, which caused us to have to deal with transportation and/or walking through a (very!) unsafe neighborhood. I asked on multiple times for them to reconsider and cancel/refund us and they just kept saying that if we canceled we would loose our whole payment. The inside of the unit itself was fine, but was not the location we paid for. I will never book with them again and have learned my lesson about reserving and pre-paying for something. Beware that they have other buildings/units and may move you around last minute if anything comes up and you are going to be stuck with it. They did give us a $50 refund for our inconvenience (which was nice I suppose?) but also felt like a slap in the face and that they could have also just easily refund us the whole amount and allowed us to cancel. Completely unfair and unacceptable and I hope they reconsider their refund policies when they have to move people around at no fault to them!
- Rick (10/5): - Nice place! Clean! Safe! We really enjoyed our stay.
- Mitsuko (10/5): Recommended!! - Located in extremely convinient location. Lots of good coffee shops and restaurants around. Street parkings are free 6pm-10am and all day Sunday.
We stayed 2beds 2bathrooms suite. Very spacious, new and clean. We really enjoyed our stay there.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great for Those Who are Self Sufficient - Great way to stay. Like being at home, with full kitchen and our unit had a washer and dryer. Beware of the late check in fee and contact information (make sure you get the number for who you are to contact when you arrive). But, the fee was only $25 for someone to meet with you and offer personal services, like offering car parking options and showing you to your room. William was the one who met with us and he was very nice and attentive. This was by far the best option for our stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great Location, walking distance to everything and of course Uber. We arrived early and they rushed to get us in early which was nice. Because we rushed them the floor was not really clean. So i would blame it on us. They did try so thank you very much.
- Gershon (10/5): - Great location, fully loaded and decorated. Will surley come again
- Roy (6/5): - Our stay was mediocre at best, the check-in/out process was easy, the amenities were sub-par, the area felt unsafe to walk at night (given that it's downtown), and the thing that I thought was the most disappointing was no central A/C. Our out of wall unit did not even make the room our desired temperature.
- Kathryn (8/5): - Weather was great; rooftop BBQ area was great. View from our place was BLAH, but view from rooftop was great. Convenient walking to many places, including Pike Place Market. Overall a great place.
