• robertmZ996JF (6/5): Helpful Staff - It’s a great location - close enough to zone 1, but secluded enough that you’re not disturbed. The atmosphere is generally warm and friendly. I have stayed at this particular venue several times and although, it can be busy, with some guests being particularly demanding, the staff handle it with professionalism and efficiency. I usually take an accessible room which is in a secluded, quieter part of the building. The rooms are large and the wet rooms sufficient, although in my opinion some are fitted better than others. I think the value for money is generally ok, if not a little on the expensive side. I would also appreciate a loyalty scheme as a returning customer. There may be one, but I haven’t been made aware of it. Generally speaking the level of cleanliness is as you would expect - consistently clean enough and well presented, but with the odd mark here or there. During my most recent visit, I had a couple of separate issues, but the staff were really helpful ant patient with me. Michelle in particular went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable and Dianne listened to my concerns, explaining the procedure with clarity and kindness. This particular stay, I gave a 3, because of issues out of the staff’s control, but I would absolutely stay here again

There is some noise from the trains, but it didn't affect me. Staff were so lovely, friendly to talk to and went out of their way.

I checked in after a long drive, feeling pretty tired, and she was just so lovely—really efficient but also genuinely friendly and warm. We actually ended up having a proper laugh because I was quietly singing Robbie Williams’ ‘Feels’ to myself (it’s a proper earworm!) and she caught me. It was just one of those silly, human moments that made me feel right at home instead of just another customer. Nothing was too much trouble for her, and she has that brilliant knack of making everything feel easy. People like Deane really make your stay. She’s a total credit to your team. Thanks again!

• Michael_Pam (10/5): A good place to stay in London. - We always stay at Travelodge Bethnal Green when visiting London. It is a few minutes walk from the Central Line Underground station and local bus stops are right outside on the main road. We cannot praise the staff highly enough, Deanne, Will, Michelle and Karen looked after us as they always do. Nothing was too much trouble and the conversation was always so friendly and good making you feel really at home. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was good.

• taavik2026 (10/5): Lovely staff, pleasant stay, slightly noisy - I stayed here with my mum and I had a very pleasant stay at the Bethnal Green Travelodge. The staff were absolutely lovely (especially a shout out to Karen and Mali!) and made me feel right at home. They provided great care and service. The rooms were clean and I was provided a hairdryer at reception after asking for one, and they were there for anything else we needed. For being the first stop in zone 2, it was very competitively priced and well placed. I'd only argue that there can be a bit of noise from the trains travelling nearby, but I'm not particularly affected by occasional noise so was no trouble for me.

She went above and beyond for me and as made me change my mind about travelodge . They are a credit to your business and wonderful woman aswell .

Karen and her colleagues on reception were warm and welcoming and I felt very much at home. My room was clean and quiet with everything I needed. The location was ideal for central London, just a few stops away on the Central Line and was excellent value for money. The amenities were fine and the unlimited breakfast provided the perfect start to the day. I would certainly stay here again on future trips to London. Thank you !

• Ecclesyoung (4/5): Unpleasant stay, shabby and worn out hotel - Will not book Travelodge Bethnal Green again. Very run down, shabby hotel in general. Bleak and unwelcoming entrance on Witan street: cold lighting, looked dirty and completely featureless long corridor to lift/ need to go up to 1st floor for reception. Windowless, uninviting restaurant / bar that looked more like a prison canteen than a place I would want to stop and have a meal or drink in. When I tried to get a glass of red wine to take up to our room, was told only could get red wine by the bottle - completely mad I couldn’t get something so basic a glass of red wine! Our room - small and cramped, shabby, worn out paint work peeling and cracked in various spots, congealed/hardened clear substance on bathroom counter that I was told ‘couldn’t be cleaned off’ , practically non existent water pressure - our shower came out in a dribble. Bathroom floor grubby in the corners. The only ‘soft’ lighting in room was a strip behind our bed but this was broken so we had to stay with the harsh cold lighting of ceiling lights and equally cold lighting of the two ‘side’ lights at bed. We put a cloth on the table lamp to create a warmer light. The only hanger or hooks were directly above our son’s bed - over his head. Completely mad there are no hooks near doorway to hang coats. In summary I was so disappointed and frustrated that I forked out £240 for 2x nights. Will not make this mistake again. When I complained to customer service I received an inane offer of a free breakfast on my next stay… Completely unsatisfactory and poor value for money all round. Only positive was that the staff were very nice, albeit a bit weary as they were clearly so used to dealing with constant complaints. When I mentioned that I’d chosen Travelodge a 2nd time because my first time at the Algate Travelodge had been so good - she just said “ Oh you can’t expect them to be the same…all the Travelodge hotels are so different depending on where you stay” This annoyed me as it’s not unreasonable to book a 2nd stay based on my first experience at a Travelodge. Not a happy customer I’m afraid and I do not recommend the Bethnal Green Travelodge.

Location is excellent for travelling around London on the tube Rooms clean and of a reasonable size. Housekeeping very accommodating and fulfilled a request as promised. Breakfast very good and plenty of options and quantity. All staff including reception and breakfast were extremely pleasant, friendly and helpful. We will be back

It was ideally situated for us, as we were attending an event at the Backyard Comedy club, which was situated on the corner of the building. We had a very pleasant and professional greeting on our arrival. The breakfast cooked by Will was excellent, with plenty of choice and nothing was overcooked. Michelle, our waitress was excellent, very friendly and pleasant to talk to. We will definitely be staying here again in the future. Thank you to all for making us feel welcome.

Desperate, we looked for nearby and reasonably priced hotels in the area. We arrived at Travelodge and met two amazing girls, Georgia and Eklima. We told them about our situation, and they offered to help us in any way they could. They were very warm and approachable, creating a really comfortable atmosphere. They brightened our night a little after everything we had been through. My positive review is directed to them. A perfect ten for these girls.

• olistan2024 (10/5): Strategic Location - Strategic location, near tube station and sainsburys! There’s also a park across the street. I had problem with towels changing in my room on the first day but they made sure to handle it fast and to not happen again. I stayed at second floor, if you have problem with noise I recommend getting a higher level because it’s near the railway so you can hear the train going every time. Amenities are towels, tea, coffee, kettle, and hangers. Their breakfast are great for the price, the staff (Michelle) was really welcoming and fast responding to our problem, which added a nice and comfortable atmosphere during our stay.

• bekoubetts (6/5): Rooms / hygiene questionable. Staffs great! - I shan’t labour the point. On balance, I wouldn’t recommend. Why? I spent two nights here. Night one in a filthy room designed with accessibility needs. Hairs everywhere. Stained towels. Grubby. Next night I’m on the 6th floor. Better room but systemic plumbing issues in the building means loud and intrusive noises through the night as the airlocks in the pipes vocalise. The general level of cleanliness and care / attention of the communal areas is poor. It’s grubby. Crumby. Dusty. I breakfasted. No beans. Scrambled egg an afterthought. It was jarring, but the quality of the meats and veg on the breakfast was well above average. Staffs all lovely. All great. All making the difference. But there’s a lack of a central mind. Unless you’re a dafty, you’ll know what I mean.

• sonjao455 (10/5): Good experience and friendly staff - Excellent location, just minutes from Bethnal Green tube station and right on bus routes into central London. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. Staff were helpful throughout my stay, especially Michelle on the breakfast shift, who was incredibly friendly and always smiling. If I were to criticise anything, it would be the security setup. It would feel safer to require a room key in the lift to access the bedroom floors. Although there is a key-controlled door to the bedroom corridors, it closes slowly, and I felt that someone determined enough could slip through behind guests. Overall, a good stay.

I had an enjoyable stay & the location is ideal to get into central London on the Central line.

On arrival it was a warm welcome from Deanne and Donnette who were cheery and helpful. Likewise in the morning from Michelle, where nothing was too much trouble. Room was clean and tidy with a view over the park. I was a little worried having read other reports about noise but found it ok. Was a very good breakfast but I did think the bar was a bit pricey in the evening. All in all though, a very good stay and will definitely be back.
• lokeshm390 (10/5): Amazing and Pleasured stay - The staff is very welcoming and professional. Michelle helped me with my check out and has been a very understanding host. The rooms arevery clean and I was provided with fresh towels and coffee daily. The food by Will was great and fresh, dont miss the breakfast, its very delicious Will definitely opt to visit again.
• X6474ULrichards (8/5): Refreshingly new Travelodge - I have to use this chain a lot for work and Bethnal Green is a refreshing standout. It's a pretty new Travelodge so fixtures/fittings are in a good condition. While the rooms are basic, they've always been clean and comfortable and offer decent value for money, especially this close to the City. I've been several times now and the staff have always been quick on checking in, special thanks to Michelle who's sorted my booking blunders with a smile!

Staff are always polite especially Michelle who always goes the extra mile to make you feel welcomed and invited. She is definetly an asset to the company

• andrewhC6817SZ (4/5): Basic but just about acceptable - Serious lack of cleanliness, not only in the room but also on the stairways. It was very dusty on the skirting boards the bathroom needed a good thorough cleaning and a bit more care taken. The reception/bar/restaurant were very helpful and supportive, they seemed to be very busy multi tasking but remained positive. The shower in our room had a blocked drain when we used it. Fortunately, the maintenance man arrived swiftly with his plunger. There’s a need for better training particularly of the cleaners.

• 1JulesMM (4/5): Too noisy to sleep! - Had a small family room for 2 nights but hardly slept due to the very close by, train line which runs through the night, sounded like they were coming through the room at times! Very small, dated shower room but the staff were friendly. Its not in a great area but close to a tube station so handy for getting about. Had several issues with booking and with the stay, which were raised with customer services over 10 days ago now, but still no response!!
• CurryloverNE (8/5): Superb staff - Rooms ok, but our room was on the first floor facing student accommodation proving to be noisy as they came out to smoke and vape most hours of the day and night. Also unable to leave our window open due to the fairly regular smell of weed drifting into the room. The staff here though are all superb, and could not do enough to ensure our stay went well.

Even if the system had faults and problems due to no ones cause, Michelle was always the with a warm welcome and big smile to help the best she could until things was fixed. Can't thank her enough, true credit to the team.
