• Donnie and Leah (4/5): Poor staff - With the exception of the broken door the room was nice. . The staff member working the front desk did not identify himself and was not welcoming. We arrived around 12:30 a.m. for a late check-in that had already been requested in advance because we knew we would be arriving late. Despite this, he spent about 20 minutes searching for our reservation, even though it was printed on a paper sitting on the desk in front of him. During the process, he repeatedly asked for both the name on the reservation and my name while he was already holding my driver’s license. His attitude throughout the interaction was unwelcoming and made check-in unnecessarily difficult, especially that late at night after traveling. The bathroom door in our room was broken and would not close properly. We were too tired to deal with it at that point, so we let it go. There was also a discrepancy between the amount I was originally quoted for the reservation and the amount charged at check-in. When I asked about it, he explained there was a $20 incidental deposit, which would have been understandable, except the difference was more than $20. The amount itself was small, so I chose not to argue about it, but it added to the overall negative experience. If this employee were working the front desk again, I would not choose to stay here. Based on this experience, I’m not confident he is competent in his role.

• Oomen (5/5): - Online said breakfast included and pool. Neither of which were available unless you wanted to order and pay. Menu didn’t have many option that were available. Pool was out of service which was why we booked this one as we were driving to let the kids play area was sketch with the truckers in parking lots and people walking all over. The lobby smelled of cigarette smoke when you walked in.

• Evelyn (1/5): Bad experience, demanding some compensation in way of refund. - Location 1. No room service after first night. Inquired and was asked “did you ask for room service?” 2. Pool was down 3. Every ice machine was down 4. Had to get ice from front desk, waited nearly 10 min for staff, then waited another 5 min to get ice bucket filled. 5. Bathroom door hit the tile floor and did not close for privacy. 6. Toilet paper roll was a makeshift rod sticking out of the wall, roll would fall off that rod constantly. 7. Misleading when I booked room, breakfast said “Free Breakfast”, we would have stayed somewhere else if we knew it was an extra charge. 8. Nasty stains on the walls, one smear looked like semen, another looked like drips of blood.

• Jane (9/5): I really enjoyed my stay at the courtyard. I was comfortable and felt very safe! - I was really impressed with how clean and updated the whole place was! A little weird getting to the parking lot, but not awful—it’s hard to find something to complain about!
• Kellie (10/5): - Across from Meijer which is convenient. Unfortunately, I only seen it was surrounded by food places, but they all have terrible reviews. None above a 2 star. Never thought I needed to check those, but now do. Parking was easy. Asked for room close to pool, making it easier to manage two kids. Got a room down the hall. However, this room must not be used often as it had a mildew smell, spiderwebs in about every corner, baseboards dirty, wallpaper peeling, and chair was stained. Was able to open window to get fresh air in and turn on AC to circulate- but the vents are also covered in dust. Microwave had part where rust was showing. Went to pool and was happy to see towels provided on tables. We knew the pool was small, however, didn’t expect an indoor pool to be so cold! Thankfully the Room showers provide great hot water and pressure. The light in shower showed above dust collect above ceiling, and no vent to get steam out of the room. Decent sized hole by the TP holder. No clothes line in the shower to hang wet swimming suits. Overall, would we come back? No. Did it work for one night, yes. Bedding was clean, and beds comfortable. TV selections lacking. Can’t join internet unless you create an account with hotel brand. No garbage bags in room garages- sucks for whoever has to clean those.

We were exhausted from our outside event—85° all day and wanted showers and the air conditioning. In the morning there was only ice available on the second floor.

The party we were withs room also was not ready. We were told that there was a staffing shortage. Mind you therr was the championship ARCA race that weekend, which the hotel was aware of ypu think they would have had staff. Absolutely ridiculous. My bathroom door in my room would not close all the way, the room darkening blinds in both room would not close all the way. Poorly managed. They comped us Absolutely nothing for our inconvenience.

• Bobbi (8/5): Clean comfortable stay. - Comfortable and clean rooms. I liked how when we came back from being out during the day- our room was cleaned and straightened up. My only complaints were the check in and internet. Upon check in, the line was very long and check in was moving slow. When it was my turn, he told me about the hold for the stay and how it would be $20 per night and I agreed and then attempted to charge my card over $500. I’m unsure what card was on file but it didn’t go through and he didn’t tell me until after the fact he was trying to charge that amount. He then stated I didn’t pay for my stay yet when I did so he checked into it and realized that I did and then proceeded to continue to check me in. When we got to the room, the internet on the tv wasn’t working and we called the front desk to ask about it and he said it was an ongoing issue that they were aware of but didn’t know when it would be fixed. Again I wish this was something that was stated at check in so then we would have been made aware.

They had an issue with key programming that caused guests to return to the front desk because they couldn't access their rooms They needed more staff to avoid long waits due to this but didn't have them. The room smelled of smoke and it seemed like maybe it was the pillows. Also one of the toilet paper roll holders was pulled out of the wall. At 10 PM loud couple arguing in the room next door. Stopped and started again at midnight. Finally had to call the front desk. That worked. They quieted down. All in all I expected better.

The surrounding neighborhood is away from the downtown and is pretty much commercial industrial in character, and only 1 mile from the Michigan border.

The cable TV lost signal after about an hour of viewing. There was no no complimentary coffee in the lobby. There was no complementary breakfast.

• Sliter (7/5): It was a great experience! - The set up of the room was very nice, the bed facing the sun. And it had the triangle went pillows as a headboard. Then the fridge and microwave were hidden. The shower was nice and big and there were plenty of towels. The lighting was good to do make up, also. It also smells clean everywhere you went. There was no warning that TV was an up charge.

There were some issues that seemed to stem from a lack of maintenance - tv in room didn't work, curtain wouldn't close due to broken hangers, bathroom door didn't latch completely. None of those things were huge deals for us, but they certainly effect our rating.

They hid the coupon in an envelope and they had written “pastry” on it which is all they would offer me at the counter, so not breakfast at all. Dishonest. Disrespectful to a platinum elite member. No acknowledgment of status at checkin. Hallway smells of weed. Rooms are over perfumed. Air conditioner makes a loud annoying sound the whole time it is running. Find a better option that’ll respect the status you’ve earned and who won’t lie to you.
• Thomas (8/5): Decent hotel. But you may have issues - Sort and sweet. All the reviews about the air conditioning not working are real. We got in late and were only staying for one night so it wasnt worth complaining about. But traveler beware. And the hotel itself is near the local trash dump. Luckily there was no odor.
