Guest Reviews
- Craig (10/5): - Tv was not working but was after I got staffin to fix the problem
- Beverly (10/5): Great Stay ~ center of antiquing, smogashborg - Great Staff, easy check in, center of antiquing and 15 minutes from Shady Maple Smorgashborg and Sight and Sound Theater. Quiet and clean. We controlled the air and heat. We enjoyed our stay and you will too1
- Deborah (4/5): - The guy at check in was very nice.
The room needs a lot of updating. The window blinds were broke, candy paper by the microwave, shower could use a good cleaning in the corners. There is a hole in the entrance door big enough for a snake to fit through. TV didn't work, and no Wi Fi. The picture of the room on their website is not what our room looked like. Would not stay there again.
- Charles (2/5): Do not stay here - bed spreads were stained cramped space tv did not work properly table was placed in cramp space near foot or bed.do not recommend anyone stay here.
- Joseph (8/5): - Walking distance to the Iron Spire complex
- DENISE (10/5): - Room was very clean. Water pressure and temperature was excellent.
- John (2/5): - We did not stay, one look and you could tell it hadn’t been cleaned properly if at all! I stepped outside and called the Comfort Inn to check for availability and we dropped keys in box and left this property immediately. Just to save a few bucks, never again!
- frank (8/5): - great location for Green Dragon and Pa Turnpike
- Owen (6/5): - The place was close to where we needed to be the next morning; no trouble with check in etc.
The rooms reek of stale tobacco, the bed-spreads are stained, the air conditioner is noisy as it turns off and on all night. Reminded me of travelling with parents in the 1970s and 1980s (so I suppose there's some charm in that!).
- George (8/5): Decent. - It was a lot more pleasant than I expected and the shower was powerful with plenty of hot water. The bed was nice.
- Patricia (8/5): - Room was clean... service was pleasant
- Leif (8/5): - I like the old style roadway inn and safety of having an outward facing door and functional windows for fresh air....
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Its a weekly motel nothing like the site said it was. They had one guy painting his vehicle, another vehicle had a boot on it. Then the room was musty smell with a dark nasty stain on the sheets.
- Jeffrey (4/5): big mistake - They had to scramble to find towels. No coffee in room. No shampoo or soap in shower. No breakfast of any kind. Toilet paper of a type I didn't know was even existed, bad. Dated room. Smoke detector consisted of loose wires coming out of ceiling with no detector. Maybe $70 not that much, but way too much for this place.
- Brent (8/5): Ok for the money - Ok accomadations clean frt desk should be open longer
- Bonnie (8/5): - Clean, freindly I will stay here again
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Very bed. There was no one at the motel when I come to check in
I had to find a different one at the moment
I hope to get my money back
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location was what I was most interested in.
Had stayed there in MAY 2019
- Verified traveler (6/5): - There is no place to hang clothes.
- G (10/5): - An older property, nothing fancy. Well maintained and the staff is attentive - gets the job done.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good for the price. Next door to Stoudts which has great Pilsner beer.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Less expensive will not help you - The owner was very nice and helpful. The hotel itself was terrible the bedspreads have dried “something” on them. Would have went elsewhere but all booked
- Verified traveler (2/5): Stay somewhere else - The place was run down bedspreads were old and needed to be replaced there was nowhere to hang clothes we hung them from lights only a 3 drawer dresser for two people. No hair dryer had to go to office to get one and he pulled out of file cabinet it was noisy outside door had bedroom locks .would not stay again. Blinds were all bent up
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This hotel was so dirty it was inhabitable. There were huge yellow stains on the comforter as well as the sheets, which were never changed. I slept on top of the bed on a blanket that was in my car. There were no towels on either day and I had to go get them from the front desk and they were also stained. The shower was so dirty I showered with sandals on. No soap, shampoo, or any toiletries and the bathroom looked like it had not been cleaned in several weeks. I was shocked at the poor condition. I couldn't sleep because there was NO deadbolt on the door and I feared someone could walk in at any moment. I almost felt sorry for the desk clerk who was clearly overwhelmed by complaints and issues. This hotel should have had a much lower price point. $80.00 for this room was an outrage.
- Toni (4/5): - No one in office to check in waited forty min on phone in parking lot to check in. No one cleaned room or brought clean towels or changed bedding or took out trash. Was very disappointed.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I stayed in a room the first night that had fleas. But, when notified the desk employee moved me to another room.
- Geoff (8/5): - Basic motel - very friendly and helpful staff. If you want the basics, this is the place.
- CJ (8/5): - Bare bones motel near a lot of antique places. Extra friendly staff.
- john (4/5): Just keep going. - The place looked quaint when we booked on line. Got there & check in took so long. Went to the room. Wow what a difference. The room was old & needed all redoing. The bathroom had been done & was nice. The room was so small the table & chairs where at the door. Bathroom door falling off hinges. Went for ice. Got a plastic bag with ice. Asked for a ice bucket & was told they had none. The tv was the very old style & got very few channels. Certainly not worth the money we spent on a 2 day stay. You can find something better down the road. Had nicer rooms & better service for less money
- Sue (2/5): Hotel close to antique shops - The room looked like it had never been swept. There was no clock or radio, no rack to hang clothes, the pull-up for the bathroom sink pulled right out and did nothing, there was no counter in the bathroom to set anything, the bed sheets and bedspread were too big for the bed. No washcloths were left on Sunday morning so I had to go out at 6 am to the office to get them. The room was not cheap and we work hard for our money. Very disappointing.
- Carol (10/5): - The room was clean and comfortable.
- Dom (6/5): Nice Motel convenient location to Antiques! - Good experience..no negative issues! Staff friendly and accomondating.
- Kathy (10/5): Nice hotel for the American Muscle Show - WOW What a big surprise from the ratings!! This place was awesome and would stay again!! It's a must for the American Muscle Car show it's less then 4 miles from the event!!
- Verified traveler (4/5): Good location/Bad condition - Friendly staff was helpful but could not make up for the uncomfortable feeling of being watched by weekly residents. Household items piled outside some rooms. No amenities other than soap. Stayed one night and was relieved to check out. Sad.
- Vanessa (10/5): great place to spend a week - is an older strip single floor door to parking lot motel that has been totally brought up to date with clean fresh rooms and friendly staff that appear to be all family members of the owners.
- L (6/5): Not bad but not good - Check in was fine, however it felt a little like a drug den with all the weekly residents watching you go in and out. When we came back to the room Sunday night the State Police were there talking to an occupant. We won't be back, we'll go back to staying over by the outlets.
- Phillip (2/5): Steer Clear of this Hotel - This place is a pit. Dirty, old, and uncomfortable. If you like tired bargain basement mattresses, this is the place for you. This should be a $29 motel where you only stay if you're broke, or cannot drive another mile. In years with hotels.com. this is by far the most over-priced and tawdry hotel I've every booked.
- Richard (4/5): Small, outdated no frills - Staff friendly, but room was small, and outdated, but the beds were comfortable. I booked through hotels.com. The person checking in ahead of me, paid $20 less than me, which I found disappointing.
- Verified traveler (8/5): One night quick trip. - It was OK, good value. Place is older, side of the road hotel, but fairly well maintained, manager on site was very friendly and had good advice for eating in area.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room was not ready when we arrived at 4:00. We waited about 15 minutes while they cleaned it, but the odor left behind by the cleaning solution was nearly unbearable, and lasted into the next morning. The room served its purpose. There was no wifi available. The restaurant next door is excellent!
- Jennifer (8/5): Black Forest - Upon arrival we were given a friendly greeting. The people at the check-in desk were very enthusiastic and gave us tips on where to eat and recommend a fantastic fireworks display
- Samir (10/5): This is a very nice quaint motel. - I have stayed at all ranges of hotels. You cannot find better value anywhere. My rate was under 80 dollars, and I was very impressed. Rooms were very clean. Everything worked. Bed was comfortable. Toiletress stocked.
The staff was the best of all. The person running the hotel is very nice and smart. I talked to him about many engineering topics and helped pass the time. The cleaning staff is also very professional and kind. She followed up and asked me if I needed anything multiple times, while being polite and discreet.
I highly recommend this motel, and I will probably be back there just to visit. I do not normally travel to rural PA but I will return to see the Staff possibly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nothing fancy, but clean and a good price.
