Guest Reviews
- gkruse5562 (8/5): Bargain Hotel - Stayed 3 nights. Good value for the money. Nothing fancy but room was clean and orderly. Staff was friendly. I had advised them earlier that I would be arriving around 4am and didn't want any problems on arrival after a 20 hour drive from Texas. Arrived around 4:30am. They immediately responded when I rang the bell and was warmly greeting and told they were expecting me. Minutes later I was in my room. Had plenty of hot water and the towels were huge and good quality. Had a small fridge & microwave, large TV. Bed was king size with 4 nice pillows. Room was a little small but big enough. Also had desk with rolling chair and a stuffed chair and adequate closet. Compared to chain hotels in the area which are close to $300 a night it's great. I spent $412 total for 3 nights. Nothing close by but Domino's was great! I was totally happy here and would stay again.
- 196xuanw (2/5): DON'T GO TO THIS MOTEL. DIRTY, BAD HEART AND BAD ATTUTUDE - .
When we arrived the room at midnight with young kid, room TV already on, the beds were dirty, seems somebody was here, used the bed and watched TV before our arrive. Asked staff, staff said this is the last room. Asked the staff to change the sheets, he was not happy and said with the attitude, "I will refund your money." "you can go somewhere else." That was already at midnight with young kid, we paid Uber to take to this dirty motel. we already lost the $20 for this transport and have to take another uber to somewhere else in at midnight. Terrible experience. DON'T GO THERE.
- Barbara (4/5): - Stay somewhere else. This property is old style and falling apart. Glass louvers keep together with duct tape, ceiling tiles with holes, no phone in room, although there was a fridge and microwave. Staff were friendly. It was clean and close to airport. In an industrial area. Lesters diner was a 30 minute walk away.
- Tom (2/5): - Don’t stay there.
- Hilary (4/5): - Over priced did not look like photo on Expedia, very old nowhere to get food or coffee
- Carol (4/5): This place is a dump - This place is a dump and should not be offered on Hotels.com. Window air conditioner isn’t working well, bathroom fixtures are grouted badly. Curtains are sagging. Very close quarters.
- Pablo (10/5): - Very nice a quiet place. Friendliest people
- Dwayne (4/5): - The lock and the room wasn't good, the doors was old. The bed was naking alot of noise. The room in side wasnt fresh at all.
- Janet (8/5): - This was great for the price - it was the cheapest option so it was what I expected. The staff were wonderful. The only issue is that the noise of the airplanes kept me up but since it's next to the airport there isn't anything to be done about that - next time I would pack earplugs. You could hear the planes even at the expensive hotel so there was no way to avoid the noise. I would have preferred no room service to avoid extra laundry and was surprised that they cleaned my room. I would have told them not to otherwise for eco-friendly reasons. Next time I will make sure to communicate no room service - that was my fault.
- Ruth (6/5): - Sauber u tolle lage . Zimmer alt u muffig, dunkel u zum parkplatz hin (zimmer 11). Und echt kalt. Besser sind die zimmer mit gerader nummer, die haben sonne.
- John (2/5): - This is a run down motel with no real effort being put into it. The staff gives you a key, but they were not welcoming or even remotely interested in interacting. The room was small. The bathroom hadn't been updated since 1951. If you need a local for making a "Schitt's Creek" fan film...this would be idea. There are no restaurants within a mile. It's an industrial area. The windows are paper thin so any noise in the parking lot will keep you awake. NOT WORTH THE MONEY.
- Susana (4/5): - A fight broke out in the morning with a lot of screaming and causing, plus lsaming hotel and car doors.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - No frills. Good price. I appreciated that they held my room when my flight was delayed several hours and I was able to check in at 1am.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very accommodating and worth leaving a tip - They allowed us to pay for an extended check out due to a flight leaving in the early afternoon hours. Also get your privacy you can be you, on the side person to let it hang all out, and there as diverse they are friendly and accommodating.
- Ryan (10/5): Book a room... It wont disappoint - This is a very nice lodgings for a reasonable rate. There are actually 2 properties and the 1 I stayed in was underna remodel construction. Exterior doesn't do the rooms justice. Spacious, clean, well-kept and modern. Very comfortable bed. Fresh linens. Plenty of hot water. Location is a tad bit off the beaten path, but I found this a plus in terms of reduction in traffic noise. $20 cash deposit refunded at checkout. Plenty of channels to surf if you are vegging out. Staff is personable and kind. I would absolutely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Not clean at all. Had a bad smell. No toilet paper. This place is a dive
- Verified traveler (8/5): Slitet men ok motel för nån natt - Ett OK motel nära flygplatsen att sova någon natt innan man flyger hem eller vidare i USA. Föreståndaren mycket trevlig och hjälpsam.
- Seamus (4/5): - Property is not as advertised. Photos in listing were not taken on or near the property. Not close to the beach. Center lot is just filled with overgrown garbage. Expensive and manager would not refund me despite fraudulent listing. Very dissapointing.
- Anne Marie (6/5): - Very basic motel that is fine for an overnight stop. Clean enough but the sink in our room could have done with a good scrub. No shower heads so the spray is ‘interesting’ but overall okay
- 354terryv (8/5): Excellent small motel close to airport and cruise ship terminal - This is an older motel unit (12 rooms) but everything is very nice and the owners can give you personalized attention. Although they don't serve breakfast, you can ask for coffee and they will deliver it to your room.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Horrible - Everything was horrible
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Street view no city view. Probably too busy but one of the days to forgot to replenish shampoo and shower gel
- Verified traveler (6/5): Everything was simply OK. - The motel was not the greatest. The rooms could use remodeling, as they look and smell pretty old. The service of the office was quick, pleasant and easy. The showers needed shower heads. The air conditioning was fine, considering how hot it was outside. It was right near the airport though, which helped with the price of Uber’s. If I came again, I would look for a better bang for my buck.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Always feel safe, very nice location. Area is very convenient...........
- Alberto (10/5): - Love staying here when am passing through Fort Lauderdale, the father and son are very polite and professional. Surrounding is quite and everything is basically walking distance.
- Fernando (8/5): - Great place to overnight. Good value. Close to FLL airport
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Bed not good , old and uncomfortable. Air conditioning did
not work well. Room was really hot when we arrived. Cold
water valve not working in bathroom sink.
Enjoyed sitting in chair outside watching the rain.
- Orlee (4/5): OK In a pinch - Adequate. Close to airport. all major hotels booked so only “discount hotels” available. Not a “first choice” location.
- Jetter1224 (6/5): Easy stay for Cruiseport - Staff/owners were very friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and room was clean. Location near airport and Cruiseport was main reason for choosing. Price was doubled for Sat night stay...as Sun is day cruise ships come and go. No breakfast and room dark, darkly furnished and needs updated badly.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Place was in poor condition. Room had a smell to them and air con took forever to cool room down. First place I have ever stayed in which had plastic under cover on mattress. Would never go back.
- Stephen R (4/5): Good location, but..... - Good location for cruise harbor. Friendly staff. Noisy at night. 2 Star at best overall.
- John (10/5): Amazing experience - The staff is awesome, very nice and polite. The building is a little older but for the price you cant beat the price. Difinittly worth it.
- john (4/5): Noisy neighbors - Walks transmitted noise from guests next door. Bathrooms need updating badly.
- sharron (6/5): not our cup of tea - We chose this motel due to its close proximity to the cruise port. The neighborhood was questionable but the room was clean and adequate. It could use some updating. We found a place nearby for dinner but there was nothing around for breakfast. The motel offers nothing. We thought it was a bit overpriced but luckily used a free night. We would not stay here again.
- Jerry (4/5): Never again - One star motel, with no services within walking distance. Could not even get a cup of coffee.
- Verified traveler (6/5): A trip to the retirement village - Outdated furniture in rooms. Needs up to date furniture and windowa. Over priced for a night at your grandparents place. Can't have company in your rooms owner is always on the lookout. Motel 6 is half the price for updated amenities
- Ove (10/5): Good for temporary stays. - Despite closeness to the airport was the motel difficult to reach on foot. Most visitors would probably take a cab. Good for short stays for those using early or late flights, but no shops in the neighborhood.
- Keiffer81 (6/5): Winter 18 Cruise - Stayed here the night before our cruise. This is very quaint, rooms are small but clean. Has no heater only A/C. Woke up in morning with it being 48 degrees outside. This place is clean and is ok for a one night stay prior to traveling.
- Verified traveler (8/5): In need, it's Good - I was very happy to see a friendly face when I arrived very late, after hours. I really was worried since it was very dark out when I arrived. I really appreciate the 12 o'clock checkout too and no one knocked early on my door which I appreciate too. The face at checkout also very sweet. It mean alot. I felt safe sleeping, though it really looked like a dark neighborhood upon arrival and as said I was happy I saw someone nice in the office.
Thank You
The room has the outdated bed spread and dark rug, not charming at all, but for a night I will consider it again because of the people who work there and may own it.
Overall, I had a safe stay and all was clean. No safe or hair dryer in the room, but the water surprised me being there was no showerhead by actually being good &strong. I slept well and was warm, and the people are kind. Thank you.
The price was the lowest in the area. It's not so bad, but it's not at all what I'm used to or love but if you need a place, I feel you will be safe and in good hands, though not in the lap of luxury.
- james (2/5): a dump of dumps - I would not recommend this so call hotel to a horse if I had one
- Verified traveler (2/5): - pLEASE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE ELSE.
- Leroy (6/5): Basically a dump - Needed a place close to port. They had power but no cable or tv following recent hurricane. That was ok but the window air never cooled the room. the room was in the 80's the whole time. The place is basically a dump. Website said free bottled water. When we asked at desk, we were reluctantly given some. Nothing in room, not even coffee. Bathroom was an oven.
- Verified traveler (4/5): If your desperate! - Old and dirty
- wedphoto2003 (2/5): Skid Row for Unknowing travelers - While traveling to the Bahamas my flight was cancelled because of weather. We booked this motel online from my phone because if was close to the FT Lauderdale Airport. The first few reviews were good so I booked it. We arrived around midnight and when we opened the door to the room I was devastated. Too late to find another hotel. The door lock was not secure, as we had a lot of cash for our trip, I moved the sofa against the door. The room was filthy and 1970’s motel dated. In the morning we couldn’t get out of there quicker. Forget this place, unless you’re on skid row, in which case you will need Welfare because the price is too high.
- Teacher36years (4/5): Some problems, but economically good. - The price was very good, $100 compared to over $200 -$300 hotels. It was not too far from the airport and the pier. That was good. Although, it was very small. It had a refrigerator which was nice. I had to ask for towels and toilet paper. They brought it right away which was nice. When I took a shower at night, there was no hot water, I didn't ask for help because it was 1:00 a.m. There was no phone or tissue in the room. Front Desk staff was very friendly. Check out was at 10, but let us stay until 11:15. I got worried that there was only a little window to converse with them, not a lobby to go in. I thought it was not a safe area, but they told me it was. I would not return there. It taught me to spend more $ on a hotel room.
- DANIELLE (4/5): - salle de bain à refaire et climatisation trop bryannte
- Verified traveler (2/5): Close to airport - Just stayed one night before a 6:30 am flight. Bedding seemed clean enough. Didn't use the shower. The bathroom as a whole was in need of some repairs - leaky faucet, broken tiles, etc. The TV wouldn't turn off, but fortubalu it was in an armoire so we were able to close the doors. In the morning, discovered several large bugs on the walls - one of which was in a cocoon of some sort, so it had clearly been there for a while. Glad I didn't notice those residents before I went to bed or I may never have slept! Wall unit air conditioner oddly placed so there were distinct climate areas within the room. Close to Tap42, which I would highly recommend!
- sheliab_11 (6/5): Sufficient for a quick layover night - We booked thru American Express points so felt it couldn't be too bad. Was pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness. Reception desk even gave us two bottled waters at check-in. Very close to the airport but right off the main road so plenty of food options within a short drive
- Forrest (6/5): A bit above last resort. - Very run down in a business neighborhood. 3 rental car agencies near by. No stores whatsoever for a number of blocks. Door lock is only bathroom type but with a key instead of a hole to put a nail into. Toilet did not flush well, the front door let in plenty of light along the edges, tiles in bathroom were loose and rocked when stepped on. Water for shower was OK and hot water good, the window style AC unit worked fine and not too noisy. The bed was a bit lumpy but not horrible. There was a microwave and small refrigerator. The wifi seemed to work fine. Even though it was very low priced I doubt that I would use this hotel again.
- John (2/5): Best avoided, if you can. - Very poor condition property with electric sockets hanging off the wall and covered with tape. Tiny bathroom with outdated shower, hand basin and toilet.
Noisy location next to car rental cleaning operation. Pleased that we did not need the room for the night, only a few hours.
Best avoided if you can afford to!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - If you check your emails you should have a full report detailing my feelings about Vacation Inn
- Verified traveler (6/5): Hotel close to airport. - I wanted a hotel close to the airport and not expensive. Well, I got both of those wishes. I would also have wished for coffee in the room and more outside lighting. Otherwise it was ok. The staff was very friendly and nice. They let me stay for a late checkout (no charge) and called me a cab when I needed one.
- David (6/5): - was good for sleep
- George (4/5): Close to airport once it is located............... - Arrived late at night to a no smiling hotel attendant. Reluctantly carried my bags and located room. Not even coffee.
Out of there as rapidly as possible.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The motel was located in a seedy area. The room looked dirty (i.e. rugs, bedspread, drapery--falling off the rods). One of the wall outlet plates was away from the wall and the AC wiring was taped!
The motel was located in a very noisy area because of its proximity to the Ft. Lauderdale Airport--this was not mentioned in the advertisement.
In the future, your company should checkout the places that are recommended.
My rating of the motel: It was sub-standard. I feel I deserve a refund.
- John (2/5): Way over priced. Not close to restaurants or shop - Shocking experience even for one night. Not close to restaurants, shopping or any other amenities you would expect at a motel. Terrible location and not worth the charges for one night.
- lindabZ9721OR (6/5): Good overnighter - Close to the airport which is a plus as we had an early morning flight to catch. Large comfy bed with nice comfortable pillows. Great for a short overnight stay. Room was clean and had free wifi what more do you need.
- JoanA518 (10/5): Very nice place - This was a very good place clean warm friendly .. pools we very clean several pools .. the area had great shops dining and entertainment. We were pleasantly surprised with the attentiveness of the safe . It was like being in a high end resort with out the high end prices.. this a great place for family.
- RevRandy (8/5): For the price, can't be beat! - Vacation Inn is located very near the Fort Lauderdale airport (but NOT under it's flight paths!) in an industrial/commercial area with several car rental agency off-airport facilities (Fox, Sixt). It is easily found.
I arrived later in the evening, found Vacation Inn easily, was pleasantly greeted by the clerk after following the centrally located sign with arrow toward the office.
My room was not spacious, but it was very clean. It reminded me of rooms at my grandmother's house: dated furniture, small room, but spotless. It had a small 'frig, a microwave, and a large cable TV and its own closet.
The was wonderful -- clean ironed linens, comfy mattress, ample pillows: slept so well.
The bathroom was very small but quite adequate and again, very clean. Individual bar soap was provided, but no other toiletries (which is fine by me because I travel with my own and would rather not be paying for such).
The wall air-conditioner was a bit noisy but it cut the South Florida heat and humidity perfectly. Since I always travel with my own earplugs, the A/C noise was not a problem.
So, in summary, good greeting, quite nice but small room, wonderful bed, and everything very clean.
Would I stay there again -- absolutely. A perfect place to spend the night before an early flight from FLL (especially for those of us 4 hours south of there in Key West) and at a rate that is very good.
- klf2327 (4/5): Had to pass on this industrial area - We usually love the quirky, 50s style drive-up and park in front of your room places. The area did not feel safe to us, as we had a lot of bags with us and didn't want to unpack the car. Office is hidden, in the back, with bars on the Windows. Like many others if the generation, the building needed some curb appeal. It is also understandable that the pool was filled in. Didn't see the back parking lot right away and no one answered at the office. People were hanging around (guests? Liv-ins?) but no one spoke to us. The office situation was confusing so We had to turn around and head toward the beach to find something else- which was more quiet and ended up more expensive but eased our minds. Sorry - it seems like it has potential from what others have said. Some TLC will go a long way.
- aryan122 (10/5): Good for one night - Big beds near airport
Very near to airport cold air coffee maker and mini fridge stay one night or two or for a whole week convenient and quaint for my stay was nice good comfortable beds nice views clean carpet
- frankyb0ys (4/5): expensiv - noisy rooms with a large bed , but not very clean , no breakfast , no coffee. no swimming pool.
if you love bed sounds made by others , this is the place to be.
this is an easy way to make money of poor travellers. butt motelboss is a nice guy.
- 5north (2/5): What was I thinking? - Following an exhausting day of travel we decided to forgo the 3 hours drive south and just get a motel for the night_this was 11pm. We don't need anything fancy BUT.. I phoned to check the rate $60. (Perfect for 6 hours) when we arrived my husband presented $100 he was given $15 change- when he reminded the person (in the wall where they take your money--probably in fear for their own safety) he refreshed the gentleman on the call 10 minutes earlier regarding the rate. He reluctantly pushed through another $10. Too tired to argue, we went to the room. What can I say except that I was horrified! Like a porn movie circu
1975-- it was carpeted, the bathroom had a leaky Faucet. Th air conditioning couldnt drown out the sounds of town. we slept on top of the covers with all the lights on. I'll never forget the vacation inn
- Gardenstam (6/5): Good for one night - The Office was a strange hole in the Wall. Very good big bed, that was the only thing with quality, everything else was very primitive and nearly romantic. We were hardly abel to operate the TV but the service was friendly and we could order some food from a pizza place. The Wi-fi was very good, but we wanted to leave as soon as we could. It was close to the AirPort and the next day we picked up our rented car there.
The room was very dark, not all lights were working.
- Dan831984 (6/5): Close to the airport - The motel is very close to the airport (a 5 minute ride), a bus stop is very close, too.
The rooms are very clean, shower strong, bed comfty. There is a frigde and a microwave in the room. And you can easily order food.
There is nothing around apart from a few car rental agencies.
The surroundings are shady, however. It's situated in a rather industrial area. I had a room to the front and it was quite loud. At night there was a visitor to the reception, and when he wasn't accepted as a guest because he couldn't pay, he started screaming and rioting. The receptionist should have called the police (which she didn't) and this guy kept the guests in their rooms up for quite some time.
- karininsingapore (6/5): Basic, clean, but strange owner - Arriving at the motel, I was worried but the room looked good. Basic stuff is there: microwave, tv, fridge and good wifi. Everything was clean. You get what you pay for. The location might seem a bit weird. We didn't have a lot of noise and we had a room in the front of the motel.
The owner is a nice guy. Wifi is good and fast. We could watch netflix movies easily.
One morning we left in a hurry. We had a lot of stuff with us and because the room was small it looked messy because our suitcases, cooler and other bags seemed all other the place. So he didn't clean our room. Alright, next day we made sure it looked nice but he said he didn't dare to come in again so didn't clean our room again. We had to go to him and ask for clean towels/toilet paper. Never experienced this before. We stayed here for 5 nights and he cleaned our room only once! I'm glad the place wasn't dirty to begin with..
You get what you pay for but it is good enough. It wasn't dirty. Good motel to stay for a few nights. Not located near downtown Fort Lauderdale though..
- K7570XWangelab (4/5): It does its job - The room are well equipped they have a microwave, fridge, tv and wifi. The wifi connection is great! However, the room are dark and musty. The washrooms are not well maintained. The toilets were not cleaned, the tile in the showers were a beige color originally but they had layers of dirt on them giving them a grey color, they were dirty. The shower curtain was also very dirty you could see the layers of dirt on them, the sino as well. Although, the price was very affrodable I wouldn't stay there again due to their lack of cleanliness. I believe that no matter how small/cheap a place might be cleanliness it should Always be clean!!
Nonetheless, the staff was great.
- soulprojector (6/5): It's not fancy in anyway but - Considering the location it's not a bad option if you are just staying one night after or before a flight from Fort Lauderdale.
Clearly it's an old place and it's just meant to be a cheap sleep place. One thing I have to point out is that the bedding is very clean and the bed itself does not look as old as the building.
The location is not ideal for some one looking to walk to any chain brand restaurants or shops but I can recommend a great pub just down the street called The Keg.
Also worth mentioning is the abundance of car rental companies in walking distance.
Vacation Inn is simply a dated but somewhat clean American budget motel.
