Guest Reviews
- Joel (10/5): - Perfecto
- Philip (10/5): - Nice comfy place to stay.
- Crystal (2/5): - Very rundown and seedy. The room smelled like stale cigarettes. I had the employee to change the sheets because they looked dirty but even the clean ones were stained. I saw a spot of dried blood on one of the pillows. Squeaky bed. No iron. Patched holes in the walls. I took a shower with the lights off. I guess you get what you pay for. Never again
- Victoria (6/5): Adequate, but could be better! - Quiet older motel. Convenient to downtown Ocala. The room was clean as far as what would be daily maid cleaning. The hot was was plentiful, and the room had no smells. Bedding was clean, but pillows were flat. We went to Dollar General for two new pillows to sleep on.
The biggest flaws were the dirty doors, trim and the mold around the soap dish in the shower.
I think if they added some better pillows, replaced the outdated bedspreads, cleaned up the twisted mess of cords and did a thorough cleaning of the shower it would have scored higher in my opinion.
All in all it wasn’t terrible. Just not as nice as it could have been and the doors and trim were so dirty it kind of grossed me out
- Darren (6/5): - Traffic was loud.
- Verified traveler (10/5): A safe place to sleep! - A lower cost motel that was safe and clean. Had a refrigerator, microwave and standing shower. Man at the office window was helpful and friendly. I would stay here again when visiting the area!
- Jeff (8/5): - Very good shower!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Would not stay here again if you paid me. - Needed a place to stay in the middle of the night took forever to get checked in waiting for someone to answer the window. Then looked like he just woke up and was un pleasant. The room stunk there were stains on the sheets. When we left there was not even anyone to check us out just sombody speaking over on ring doorbell telling me to drop the key in the drop box no thank you for the stay or nothing bery unprofessional. Very overpriced especially right after a hurricane where i am sure the prices were hicked up.
- Rachel (10/5): - I appreciate the kind owners and clean room. I would stay here again!!
- Darrell (8/5): - Good
- Kami (8/5): - This was a classic, old fashioned roadside motel. The grounds were perfectly clean and welcoming. The room was cozy and homey, the shower lovely and hot. I'm deeply grateful that it used an old fashioned room key, not a key card, since I had to go back for an item I'd forgotten, and was able to get back in...
I would have liked a coffee maker and cups, but I know that those are items which often disappear.
The guest in the room next door came in a bit late and, while I don't think they were being particularly loud, the sound carried.
For the price and the distance to my destination, I would definitely stay there again.
- Carl (2/5): - Door to outside has gaps. Not weathertight.
- Debra (10/5): - Staff was friendly this is a hotel just to sleep no amenities. No hair dryer available. It was clean as long as you don’t look behind the furniture or at the bed cover. Shower was newly updated
- Debra (2/5): - This is an awful property. Don’t stay here. The in the wall A/C was so noisy. It is old and run down. The wi-Fi didn’t work. I would not stay here again, even if I had to sleep in my car. They should have paid me to stay here.
- Brittney (4/5): - There were roaches in my room.
- jermaine (10/5): - Great
- scott (2/5): - Guys screaming at each other all night in the next room. Mice. No coffee. Decor was ugly.
- Wendy (4/5): - Didn’t like anything. Property is old and not clean. Very expensive for this motel. Not worth the money.
- dennis (10/5): - Very quiet hotel. Well lit. Although not a chain hotel, I felt very comfortable staying there.
- Glorinil (10/5): - Me encantó. Muy limpio y la cama muy cómoda! Otros cuartos de hotel que me he quedado huelen mal y este tiene un olor muy agradable fresco y limpio.
- james (8/5): - Clean. Older structures but everything was functional. The bed was comfortable and clean
- Jeffrey (6/5): - It was OK for the price. Staff was pleasant to deal with and accommodations were clean. Skimped a bit on amenities like soaps and such. An old motel on one of the main drags.
- Donna (8/5): - Friendly staff. Clean and comfortable.
- Teresa (10/5): Extremely Helpful - The service was great. The owner went the extra mile to accommodate me. The room was clean and comfortable. I will definitely stay there again.
- Jennifer Smith (8/5): - Would stay again because of the reasonable room rates.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - VERY RUN DOWN, TOILET RAN ALL NIGHT, NO WATER PRESSURE IN SINK, JUST SEEMED ALL AROUND
DIRTY
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very clean and neat
- Char_Araya (2/5): DREADFUL EXPERIENCE - The only thing that is stopping me from contacting Code Enforcement including ALL STATE AGENCIES, Ocala’s Local Channel 9 News AND the CDC.
are the genuine employees here who I KNOW need the little bit of money that they work hard for. If not, I would have had this place SHUT DOWN in a heart beat.
My husband and I are both business owners from the Miami & Wynwood District. Due to unfortunate events on our vacation travels, we had no choice but to book at this specific motel.
Ken, who’s full name I do not know treated us horribly. I mean, literally beyond anything I can put into words.
He is the sad case of a “man” who apparently runs the place.
Due to lack of communication regarding my 2yr & 5 month old French Bull dogs, Ken put me & my family through HOLY HELL.
On top of our own tragic reasons of why we had to check in here, this entire experience was dreadful beyond belief.
Ken physically BANGED on our room door demanding & shouting for payment on a simple misunderstanding over pet fees. A fee that we would of been more then happy to pay for with no issue from the very beginning. My husband & son where not in the room at the time of this incident. I still had soap on my face from rushing out of the shower wrapped in a towel! When I went to open the door to ask what the heck is going on he DEMANDED that I come out side.
Instead of kindly asking for a moment to discuss the issue at hand once I finished my shower, he choose the most aggressive resolution.
Anyone who knows of our breed of dogs will know primarily first and fore most how expensive they are to own and as Frenchie owners we would do anything for them.
PET FEES HAVE NEVER BEEN AN ISSUE WITH US EVER. Our family has Five Star ratings from all hosts of Airb&b’s stays and have never complained about pet fees at any lodging destination. We bring our babies on all travels and fully understand the implications of fees & necessary charges for having them.
On the follow day, he did the SAME thing again because I didn’t SIGN the receipt/info card AFTER he already charged my card for the additional stay that we needed.
Two encounters on Kens behalf.
All in all, Ken is an aggressive, disrespectful & belligerent individual. He has no hospitality or business ethics when it comes to guests. If it wasn’t for me already being a strong willed women I don’t know if any other female would have had the capability to handle such an awful human being let alone dealing with an adult male of his age at that.
Any one reading and looking for a review,
if your able to spend your dollars else where I hope you can do so. To any women staying alone be mindful of who’s running the show out here.
As far as the actual rooms, this place is roach infested, towels have stains on them, rooms have awful smell due to mold, crappy pluming, I found a needle cap under a bed looking for my dogs toy, the list goes on. He switch our rooms and both rooms had the same listed issues.
Do not be fooled by their cute little photos with ‘Van Gogh’ paintings in them.
People like Ken should be the ones out of business during these trying times.
We informed him that a review will be left and he said he “did not care”.
He does not care about his guest. He does not care for his employees. He’s only interested in your HARD EARN MONEY.
Our money was spent on the worst of the worst. If I would have known that we would of been put through such turmoil over something so simple we would of all slept in the car!!
If you must stay here like we did, many blessings.
To Ken:
If you don’t change your ways, one day your going to piss the wrong person off & they will make it their duty to shut you down.
When that day comes, I hope you remember my face.

- Verified traveler (6/5): - Well lit, clean and laundered. Property is inneed of an update with cleaner looking curtains and rug removal and fresh paint.
- gooooroland (2/5): Don't stay here!!! Stay with reptablefranchise businesses. - This place is very dirty and dated. Roaches were crawling on the dilapidated broken furniture. The air conditioner was broke and the crooked managers refuse to fix it or give us a fan. He seems to be a shyster very greedy and hard to deal with.
we pd. $83.25. way too much.
- Kristen (2/5): WORST EXPERIENCE EVER - Business Trip. Checked in. Used the room for 4 showers after check in. When leaving for our business meeting, the owner of the hotel took the keys from us and checked us out. When we came back in the morning, to take a shower and get our personal items, the owner refused to let us use the room and we had to call the police to get our personal items back that were left in the room. The police officer was very nice and advised us this was a bad hotel to use and advised no one should come here. DO NOT USE THIS HOTEL!!!
- Bryan (8/5): Just the basics, but good enough - Classic older Florida motel. Appeared to be clean, just aged. Was very inexpensive and a quiet place to sleep for the night.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Poor management - Management was a hassle
- Cory (2/5): Horrible - Cost to much
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Fairly a bare bones place as expected for the price. Staff was friendly. Definitely not handicapped friendly. No ramp at office or from parking to room. Bathroom door too narrow for walker which may be moot, because a person and a walker might not fit in the tiny space at once anyway.
- 964kennethu (4/5): Be careful on this place man is a crook wouldn't give recipe and has big drug problem at hotel - Checked in at office didn't even go in room went to eat came back in 1 1\2 hour went in room looked at room found crack pipe in drawer went to office to try to get my money back manager said had a three hour no money back explained to him but he was not having it with that being said I left went to a different hotel and enjoyed my stay at a establishment that wasn't a crack house have a very Merry Christmas
- Verified traveler (6/5): No hot water. - The room was small but clean. The first day the hot water was like warm at best. The second day there was no hot water whatsoever. Overall, this hotel is what I would expect for $50 a night.
- 278henryg (4/5): Too much for what you got. - I booked this on-line as I was traveling home over spring break. The reviews were good so I took a chance. The room was really sub-par. For $88 / night I feel that the place should have been far better.
The linens were old, the shower/bath area was outdated and really badly remodeled. I found 2 bugs in the room (nothing scary just beetles but still).
I would never stay here again and definitely not pay that much.
I feel almost bad giving this review as the owners were really nice and you could tell they kept it clean.
- Storyteller748330 (8/5): Hotel - This was a clean quiet room with a good bed for a great price. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We will stay there again on a weekday. Weekend rates were almost 3 times the price.
- 1105gina (8/5): Very Clean and Quiet - Privately owned motel that has been remodeled. Very clean, quiet and owner very helpful and friendly. If you are looking for a reasonable rate, cozy, clean room and a nice size shower with lots of hot water, this is the place!! Convenient location!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean room - The motel was a little dated, but the room provided a clean dry bed, a place to take a shower and sleep.
- Charles (6/5): Bed good, No hot water bad - Bed was comfy and the room was quiet. NO hot water.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - They were very friendly and my room was clean. I will be staying here again.
- randy (10/5): Excellent! - Great hotel for the price and the owner was extremely helpful and friendly! Will definitely be staying there again!
- Ryab (2/5): Very rude and untruthful - I came to stop at the Budget Inn with a college friend on our way south for a wedding. We had just driven for 20 hours and we're very tired. We are both under 19 and had checked their website and had called several times asking if the minimum check in age was 18.
We arrived at 1:45 in the morning, which should have been OK since the website said checking ended at 2. After ringing the bell for a gold 5 minutes, a man emerged from what appeared to be his house as if we woke him up. After immediately asking for our ages, he went back into his room for a few minutes before reemerging, telling us we had to he 21 and to please leave. We exclaimed that their website and he himself had told us over the phone that minimum check in was 18 but he insisted he had never said such a thing. I even had a print out of my hotel reservation with the minimum age of 18 printed right on the receipt. He told us he doesn't control that web sight and that that was incorrect. I had to call Expedia and had an agent talk with him over the phone, but he still refused service, calling us rude and immature, stating that we needed to come with our parents.
He was very rude to us and we ended up having to drive hotel to hotel for the next few hours, trying to find anything that would take us since we we're under 21.
I would not recommend this place to anyone. The lot and surrounding area was sketchy, the doors we're old and had peeling paint, and the owner was a complete a** to us.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice clean room - I liked everything about my stay except there should have been 4 pillows on a king sized bed instead of 3.
- Samantha (8/5): Nice place - Clean rooms .. nice place
- crazyblueeyes08 (8/5): Best in this area - Cheap. Clean. Quiet. No deposote. Nice staff. Smoking rooms, free WiFi, flat screen, beds are comfortable... NO ROACHES OR NOTHING.... this would be the only one I return to In this area.. you DON'T Want to go to any other hotel in this area. There NASTY
- Verified traveler (8/5): Well maintained older motel - Very well maintained property. Very clean. Nice owners. Everything worked.
- Budget Inn (10/5): Close Proximity to Ocala Regional for Out of Towne - 100% Satisfied
- Rebecca (8/5): Overnight in Ocala area - Good nights sleep. Hot shower. On the road.....would stay again. Room was updated. Bath / shower had new tile. Room and bath had new flooring...no carpet. Room was clean
- Alicia (6/5): Not worth the price!!!! - It was way over priced. The location was way off the highway and was kind of scary, it was night when we went there and it was like there was nothing around it but another rinky dink hotel. They have a glass to pay through, they don't even let you in... This seems like people live there. I set my baby's diaper box outside of the door and the manager told me I needed to walk it all the way around the back of the building and yelled at me to pick up someone else's trash, then asked me to leave a positive Review... The room was clean, it did have a newer flat screen TV, a huge (springy) bed, and water on the floor by the door. I have stayed in $40 hotels that were on a beach (Virginia Beach), with an ocean view that was better than this and you actually had room service and a hot breakfast.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Gross. - Gross. In need of maintenance. Wife wouldn't even use the shower.
- Michael (6/5): - Clean simple room.
- Michael (6/5): Very basic - Basic, no-frills economy motel. Well maintained but showing its age. Innkeeper held the room for us until after midnight.
- Phatlady (2/5): No heat - No heat, owner has attitude with females, he is in America, respect is given to ladies here. Will never stay there again
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was good for the price. The room didn't feel dirty.
- Barry (2/5): Very old rundown motel, not worth the price. - I was on my way home to FL from a funeral in NC. I should have stayed closer to the interstate. This hotel is old and in poor condition. There was mold growing on the shower curtain.
- 987kend (6/5): hotel selt fine, not much at hotel - bed comfortable clean, room clean. ac noisier than other unit, hard to get to set. small fridge. no problems. you get what you pay for! few amenities, no problems at the hotel. small bath & shower, hot water.
- W7283ONwilliams (8/5): Friendly and clean - Friendly helpful staff and clean room. I will be back when I'm in town. Its centrally located in downtown Ocala and easy to find. I arrived early and my non smoking room was ready no problem and was reasonably priced.
