- BENJAMIN (8/5): Beautiful historic building in the heart of Paraty. - The location was spectacular, on a quiet street within walking distance of the whole old town. Check-in was very efficient and the room was spotless. Breakfast was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful The stairs were slightly scary to climb with the suitcase as there isn't a bannister. Bathroom was small but functional.

- MARTA (10/5): - Todo en general, es una casa del año 1718, súper bien cuidada y decorada con mucho gusto. El personal es muy amable, te hacen sentir como en casa. La cama muy cómoda y el desayuno con mucha variedad y todo buenísimo. Ademas las mesas de desayuno estaban puestas con unas vajillas monísimas. Todo cuidado al mínimo detalle. Esta muy bien situada en el centro histórico. Las cahipirinhas de Casinha y Martinete son las mejores de todo Paraty!!! Podría decir que el baño es muy pequeño aunque entiendo que por la construcción de la casa no puede ser mas grande.

Enjoyed the breakfast as well. this isn't a negative aspect, just FYI - being so far down in the historic center close to the water, the street can flood during high tide. This is part of the charm of Paraty, but plan accordingly if you're banking on dragging a large roller suitcase around this part of the historic center

Acesso ao quarto (de nome Juliana), tivemos que subir por uma escada caracol de dimensões reduzidas, BOX de banho muito pequeno e quarto com pé direito muito baixo, ar condicionado com ventilação direta sobre a cama, não permitindo ajustes.

Muito silencioso à noite por não ficar no meio do fervo dos restaurantes. Mas perto o suficiente para em poucos minutos, estar em meio aos restaurantes e lojas. A equipe foi excelente, muito solicitos e simpáticos. Sempre perguntando se precisávamos de algo. A pousada é um charme e teve um ótimo custo x benefício. O café da manhã tem uma variedade suficiente de itens e os bolos caseiros são maravilhosos. Checar se os controles (TV, ar condicionado) estavam estavam funcionando antes da chegada.

- Kasper (9/5): Wonderful and picturesque stay - This may have very well been one of the nicest looking hotels I have ever visited. It was an extremely charming, picturesque boutique hotel with welcoming staff and a very kind and conversational owner, who is also the artist of most of the artworks scattered around the lobby and rooms. The interior of the place is very meticulously designed, renovated and a lot of love and attention to detail was clearly invested into it. My room felt as if I stepped into a a fairy-tale, with a great view of the bay over the rooftops and rustique woodwork everywhere. The location is great too. The breakfast was good and very complete in terms of choice. I loved my short stay here and would definitely go back again. If I had to be nitpicky: since this building is several centuries old, the soundproofing between rooms obviously leaves something to be desired. I am a very light sleeper (so I worried a little when I arrived and heard the neighbours talk through the wall) but regardless, I slept like a baby here. The comfortable bed, properly darkening window shutters and overall warm ambience of the room made sure of that.

- July (6/5): - OK, first of all it is a very historic place including the streets outside. The staff and facilities are very good. I liked eating off the imported China. The staff is great. What I did not like is that the rooms have thin walls and you can hear your neighbors doing "everything" including farting. The streets are made of stones that are uneven and unsafe for walking and they smelled bad.

- Monica (10/5): - Where do I start! I usually don’t do reviews but I was so over the top happy with my stay at this pousada. Charming, clean and location could not be any better. Close to the piers, church, historic village. The breakfast was so intimate and beautiful. I loved all the dainty dishes and tea cups. Food was home made from the kitchen and the best baked home made bread I ever had. Delicious. Best part for me was I met friends with the staff. So sweet and attentive. I woke up early (im an early bird and the staff made me coffee early) Marineth (staff member) was especially fun! We took selfies together and now we are friends on social media. Just lovely all around this beautiful special pousada. I will miss you all

A pousada é muito bem localizada, o café da manhã em frente à piscina é maravilhoso, todo servido numa louça lindíssima. À tarde ainda é servido um cafezinho com bolo. As funcionárias Angélica, Kessinha, Marinete e Rafaela são uns amores, me ajudaram com tudo, desde indicação de agência para passeios a toalhas para levar nos passeios e pedido de táxi (só pedi táxi pq estava com malas pesadas, mas a pousada é bem perto da rodoviária). Foi tudo ótimo e quando voltar a Paraty pretendo ficar lá novamente.

- Melanie (10/5): - This Pousada was incredibly uniqe in terms of the decorations, room layouts and staff. Each room had a unique feature ie hammocks that couild be used outside it on a private porch with a beautiful view of the bay. The proximity to the water was a plus in the historic district as well as the short walking distances to the many restaurants and sites that Paraty has to offer. We cannot say enough about the staff, how kind and willing they all were to meet our every need. The phenomenal breakfast served is beyond description! Need more be said? Would definitely stay again!
- Kathryn (10/5): - Beautifully decorated and kept inn right in Paraty's historic centre. Absolutely pristine in terms of cleanliness - I've never been in a hotel so clean. The staff of women are incredible - warm and kind and helpful. I don't speak Portuguese, except for the owner they don't much English, but they were so ready to help me and to provide recommendations. Great breakfast and again the lovely lady making breakfast wrote out the names of Brazilian foods I didn't know. The room was beautifully decorated in keeping with the feel of the historic building. The bed was very comfortable with lovely soft sheets, all the amenities you need. Loved the hammock on the balcony. There's a nice little swimming pool at the back to dip in on a hot day and a bar if you need refreshment. It's in a great location in the historic centre, easily walkable to everywhere you'd want to see in Paraty, but on quite a quiet street so it is nice and calm. Very close to the little port for boat trips and on the same street as the cultural centre and right next to the little theatre. Lots of cafes, shops and restaurants within minutes of walking. I would highly recommend staying here.

Le personnel parle uniquement Portugais. Donc, se munir d’une application de traduction. Très bon petit déjeuner.
- P (6/5): Beautiful stay, be aware of scam - It’s a very beautiful and charming stay with a great breakfast. Everything was clean, we got free towels and umbrellas if we needed them and the location is good. When we first arrived the receptionist told us she knew a good boat tour. When I asked her to send it to us through the WhatsApp of the hotel, she DMd us and asked us if we could keep a secret (screenshots provided). Then in person she said that she deleted the messages I had sent to the hotel and asked me not to tell anyone she was offering me this tour. It turned out that she was asking 1200 reais for a tour that we very easily got for 400 (the same tour to the same places at the same day). If this happens to you, just go straight to the docks and negotiate directly with the boat men, no need even to go to an agency. There was also a couple of foreigners staying at the same time, and the boat man came straight to breakfast at the hotel to corner them, probably thinking they were easy targets. Later the same receptionist left us in the rain for a couple of minutes, I assume genuinely by accident. When asked why do they always lock the gate when it was only waist high anyway, she threatened to leave us in the rain and pretend she wasn’t listening (in her exact words “ruim mesmo seria vocês ficarem tocando a campainha e eu ficar lá dentro fingindo que não estou escutando”). To be completely fair, she didn’t do that, but she also didn’t get a chance because every other time we got back someone else was also at the reception. The only other minor bad thing of note is that the hotel is on the closest street to the sea. So when Paraty floods (most days in the rain season), it is always the first street to flood. I recommend bringing a good pair of boots.

Delicious breakfast, and they also provide cake and coffee in the afternoons. Friendly owner and staff. Awsome what was done to adapt the building. There was nothing I didn't like.
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional - The room was unusually charming, all wooden-panelled and with a lovely view. And it was immaculately clean. All the spaces in the guest house were beautifully decorated. The absence of a proper reading light. There was no bedside light that would allow reading, which was indeed a pity.
- Cristian (6/5): Hotel muito aconchegante, péssimo estacionamento. - O pessoal que atende a pousada foi muito atencioso e fez de tudo para tornar nossa estadia agradável. O ponto negativo é a falta de estacionamento. O carro tem que ficar na rua, sem nenhum tipo de proteção ou garantia. Além disso, o local sugerido para estacionar é próximo ao cais e, dependendo da maré, as ruas inundam. Um perigo.

- Rolf (8/5): - Sehr schöne und spezielle Unterkunft im historischen Zentrum. Das Haus hat historischen Wert, unser Zimmer und Badezimmer war eher klein, für eine Nacht aber überhaupt kein Problem. Das Haus ist beschmückt mit Bilder der Besitzerin, sehr schön. Wir würden diese Pausada wieder buchen.

Very clean in a great location. The breakfast in a romantic environment. All very very well taken care of. Superb place. It's highly recommended. The only small issue was the location of the toilet where you had to stay low, as the flat was in a sofita.

- Sharon (8/5): - The staff at this hotel are lovely and the breakfast is amazing. It’s spotlessly clean and very quiet. The Juliana room has a comfortable bed and lovely views and I never saw a single mosquito but there are narrow internal spiral stairs to navigate which are tricky with luggage or if you have limited mobility. The staff do help carry luggage. As a solo traveler I cannot give a high score for the location though as it is a little deserted at night and the road naturally floods during the day when the tide is high. Twice this meant I could not go far from the hotel without wading through water.

- Patrícia (9/5): Great place at the heart of Paraty - Place is stunning, full of art, and the staff is very friendly. Right in the historical center of Paraty, which is great to walk around and explore and/or shop. While one of the rooms was a bit small, but had a huge long sized bed, the other had a regular couple's bed and was very large. Breakfast was very good, with what was probably the best apple crepe I've ever had. There was a small issue with ants in one of the rooms, but was quickly resolved upon our arrival.

- Garry (7/5): Authentic Pousada. Lots of character, pleasant staff and great location in Parity. Close to Harbour. - Very authentic dating back to 1780. We had the upstairs room-Juliana- which had nice views. Staff were always nice and we were assisted by our translator app, since only the owner-Maria speaks some English. But we got by. Breakfast was great. Nice outlook over small courtyard pool Had a small hiccup with loss of electricity one morning but they moved us to another room in mid afternoon when the issue couldn’t be resolved that day.

- Abigail (10/5): Beautiful property, fantastic staff, amazing location. Perfect stay. - This pousada was absolutely wonderful and exceeded all expectations. The property itself was beautiful. The owner is an artist, which shows in the incredible décor. We chose an upgraded room on the first floor which had an amazing balcony, comfortable bed, and powerful shower and air conditioning. (We had been advised that the rooms on the top floor are not ideal for tall people because of the low ceiling). The staff were all VERY friendly and welcoming and provided an exceptional service. They remembered where we liked to sit for breakfast, went out of their way to accommodate our needs, and were on hand to help 24/7. The owner speaks English, and the staff speak Portuguese. The whole team do their best to overcome any language barriers. The breakfast was delicious, all freshly cooked, with such care and attention. The location was also perfect. 5 minute walk to the main square, and on the side of the bus station. I wish we could have stayed here longer. Honestly everything was perfect
