Guest Reviews
- Karen (8/5): Nice Vacation Rental - I really enjoyed staying here! it had a lot of space and was pretty clean. My only complaint is that is was a little hard to get in contact with the "hotel" before our stay--they seem to respond better to e-mail than phone calls.
- Megan (8/5): - It was a great location but weird situation. It is a apartment building, so you are sharing a space with people that live there full time. It also came with a kitchen that didn't have much. It would be nice to have pans or baking sheets if a kitchen is provided. The thing that saved the stay was that it was clean and a good location.
- Mathew (8/5): Apartment in Hillcrest - The hotel is an actual apartment in a large aprtnent conpkex in Hillcrest. Check in took a bit becuase there was a few of us trying to check in at the same time. The apartment is decent but he bed was soft and not very comfortable. He location is terrific and I could walk to restaurants etc. I would stay here again if my regular spit is booked.
- Christina L. (6/5): Nice Condo but the AC was broke - My family and I selected this condo because it had AC in San Diego. When we arrived the host started off as easy to communicate with and was flexible with our arrival. However the biggest disappointment was arriving to a broken AC without properly notifying us ahead of time. The host did not even bring it up until we asked why the unit was so warm. They did have fans prepped and available for us to use which helped. The host offered to get us a possible discount for the inconvenience and then never responded to my follow up with her. That was disappointing. Also, the pull out couch was broken and not able to be used as anticipated. No warning on that either. It's disappointing because the unit could have fit us comfortably if we didn't have these two issues.
- DAVID (6/5): Too pricy to have to say, "I could have had a V8"! - The apartment was in a nice, central location. The neighborhood is fine. You can basically find anything you need nearby. It wasn't the most luxurious accommodation, but it was fine. We weren't that impressed with the customer service. There wasn't anyone on site to greet us, which might have still been okay, but we actually had to wait 30 minutes for someone to come and let us in. I called the phone number upon arrival. I was told someone would be "right there." After 10 minutes, I called the number back and the same guy told me that it would be another 20 minutes. When I asked him, "So, I'm supposed to just sit here for 20 minutes?" his attitude was like, "Sure...!" He didn't even say he was sorry! The lady who finally came and let us in was very nice, but she gave us two sets of keys, one of which didn't work (mine). So I went downstairs with my 3 kids to bring the rest of our luggage up, and we couldn't get back in. I had to phone my wife and have her come down to let us in! The room was comfortable, but we weren't impressed with the cleanliness. Nothing was out-and-out filthy, but the room seemed to need a thorough cleaning. If you have cats, you can clean out the litter box, but after a while, you just need to change it. It was like that. We felt like the whole room needed a makeover, or something to inject a sense of newness to it. This is no reflection on the cleaning crew, who were nice to us. I'd say the the room needs a remodel or at least a very thorough cleaning!
- Patricia A. (4/5): - The mattress in the master bedroom had urine stains on the mattress. After my stay, I brought this issue to the person who was in charge of showing the guests/visitors to their room's attention, I was merely given the brush off. By the way, there was also a roach in the master bathroom. Area's very nice. Too bad, the powers to be d/n take advantage of this and capitalize off it by seeing the rooms are clean. The woodwork was very dirty.
- Chongxin (2/5): - There is no such hotel called Sunshine Suites Hotel at Hillcrest in the Address of 4179 3rd Ave, San Diego. It is just not exist in This Planet. I arrived on the middle night 2AM and the property name called "Montecito Point Apartment" at 4179 3rd Ave, San Diego, CA
- Dane (6/5): Be aware of extra fees - For the price, it was nice having essentially 3 rooms (2 bedrooms and a common area with a bed). However, there were some somewhat hidden fees that would have possibly caused me not to go with the room. Here are 2 additional fees that are not easily seen when booking:
1) $55 cleaning fee
2) $12 per night parking fee
Also, the microwave did not work (they did bring up a smaller microwave to set on the counter and use. It took around 3 hours from when I told them the microwave did not work until I received the "replacement" microwave.
When we arrived the first night, one of the toilets was being worked on and it did not work the entire 3 days we were there.
The wifi would connect but it would not actually work.
The room was very clean and had been renovated recently.
- Jackie (10/5): So much better than a regular hotel. - My friends and I stayed for the weekend at this "Aparthotel". It was perfect! Everything was clean and the service was very friendly. The only minor thing to note would be that the couch bed was pretty uncomfortable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The apartment was very clean, it had a very nice kitchen it was very spacious. I soul D recommend it And Go back
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very nice apartment in quiet neighborhood - I enjoyed my stay at this 1b1b apartment. Thenplace was decent, clean, well equipped. The Gym was next door. The neighborhood was quiet and appeared safe.
the only downside is that it is located a bit far from the convention center.
- john (2/5): Not So Sunny - This property includes $79 in additional charges upon check in. $55 cleaning fee in fine print. I thought this was a sneaky charge and told the owner I would rather not pay but payment was required. I have no problem with well posted charges, but $55 for cleaning is not normally part of a hotel charge. Also $24 for parking. Buyer beware.
