• eloïse (3/5): Plus que décevant - / Attention !!! Vous ne réservez pas a l’hôtel mais pour un appartement privée dans l’enceinte de l’hôtel. Cependant vous ne bénéficiez pas des services de l’hôtel ou de quelconques remises (petit déjeuner/ spa etc) Logement vétuste qui nécessiterait un bon coup de fraîcheur. Mais ce n’est pas tout … l’appartement était très sale ! Gros doute sur le fait que le ménage ait été fait avant notre arrivée. La femme de ménage est repassée le demain à notre demande, a priori elle a seulement mit un coup de serpillère, le reste était dégoûtant. Nous avions hâte de quitter le logement. • Antonio (1/5): Good location but horrible apartment - Location and hotel facilities the whole place was falling apart, I would recommend the owners to replace beds at least once ever 25 years, towels at least every 10 years and place at least one non broken cabined. All cabinets and closets in kitchen and bedrooms were totally garbage, the main entrance lock was just a toilet lock so your valuables are not safe at all.

• Volamiarina Carene (9/5): Dans l’ensemble c’était quand même très bien, on reviendra sûrement ! - L’endroit est juste magnifique ! L’appartement est superbe, très propre, bien équipé et cosy, avec une vue incroyable. On a été trop bien accueillie par Noor. Sans parler de la piscine de l’hôtel juste à côté, et la mer à 5min à pied. Il y a deux restaurants dans l’établissement, puis d’autres aux alentours. C’est vraiment à proximité de tout, bar, boîte de nuit, boulangerie, boutiques... C’était juste top et vraiment pratique, l’ensemble du personnel est très gentil également. Les appartements sont indépendants de l’hôtel, donc le service à la réception n’est pas compris du tout, même pour imprimer un document ce n’est pas possible. Le buffet de l’hôtel est trop cher par rapport à la qualité, c’était un peu décevant. On a failli rester coincée dehors une fois après être sortie car tout était fermé et aucun moyen de rentrer… on a dû attendre un bon moment dehors avant que la sécurité arrive pour nous ouvrir le portail.

Jag kommer att kräva återbetalning av hyreskostnaden samt ersättning för de utlägg jag har haft för detta. Återkommer när jag har sammanställt det hela. Har fotobevis och sparad korrespondens.

• Michel (4/5): Un peu décevant - Ce que je n' ai pas apprécié, c'est que les photos et le nom utilisé par le propriétaire sont trompeurs.... Le logement est très correct, belle superficie, confortable... Mais les photos sont trompeuses car vous utilisez le charme de l' hôtel où votre logement se situe. On pense avoir une résidence avec de petites villa donnant sur un parc arboré avec piscine et bord de mer, alors que lorsque qu on arrive devant l entrée du logement, on a cette impression d' être dans l arrière cour, dans un bâtiment annexe ressemblant plus a des logements de fonction et ça casse totalement l idée qu on pourrait se faire d un logement pour des vacances de rêves ! Dommage... Cependant nous avons tout de même passé un bon séjour une fois habitué a l' idée

• Robert (8/5): Villa 9,5 / 10, hotel area 6/10 - The Villa is extremely spacious. You have a big kitchen, two bathrooms with shower and toilet, a huge living area, two sleeping rooms(with AC) with king size beds, four balconies and a closet room. In front of the villa is a private parking space. Inside the living area are two couches and a TV with Channel+ account. You find evrythink for cooking and living. The complex is very clean and comfortable. There is a big green area between the villas and the beach, two restaurants on the compound and a nice beach with lots of lying possebilities and shadow spending trees. The maintainance crew washed our clothes for 5€ for one load. Till 7pm it's so comfortable quite in the villa and on the balcony. The Villa would get a 9,5/10 (cause there is no AC in the living area) ... the complex a 6/10. At the beginning it's was not so easy to find the person that is responsible. You have to call the maintainance staff, because the villa is not part of the original hotel complex, because it's a private villa for rent. The maintainace crew is very polite and friendly. The Pool area looks really nice, but it's aged not that well. The temperature of the pool is very, very warm and the filter has some issues. The beach area is great, but the entrance is really rocky, so be carefull when you go inside the ocean. From 7 to 10 pm there are often loud events at the restaurant. From 11am there is always loud, but loungy music playing in the beach area - that is mostly annoying. The beach restaurant is an event location - some day over 100 people came to celebrate an birthday - that was extremely annoying. Most days there was trash at the beach, that no one wants to remove. All in all the compound could use a refreshment.

• Mauro (2/5): Unprofessional On-site Management and Distressing Check-in Experience - The apartment is spacious, spread over two floors with multiple rooms and several balconies. The complex features a nice swimming pool, and the proximity to a private beach—just a few steps away—is a major plus. I rarely write reviews, but the series of events during my recent stay was so concerning that I feel compelled to share my experience. The Check-in Nightmare After a 16-hour flight, I arrived at the address provided, which led to the Ocean Villa Hotel. However, the reception had no record of my booking. The situation escalated when I met the cleaning lady. Because a local friend accompanied me to help with my luggage, she baselessly insisted my friend was staying overnight and used this as a pretext to demand more money. She first attempted to double the total booking price. When I refused, she demanded €60 extra, claiming it was for "city tax" (which should have been €10). She even withheld the keys until I showed proof of my online payment to the owner. This felt like a blatant attempt at extortion. Property and Utility Issues Once I finally gained access, the apartment was poorly managed: Total Blackout: On the first night, there was no electricity due to a general fault. I was left entirely to my own devices and had to figure out the situation by myself, asking around and seeking help from the hotel reception. Lack of Information: There were zero instructions regarding the Wi-Fi or how the utilities worked in the two-story flat. Poor Infrastructure: The bedroom area had only two outlets, which is insufficient for a modern traveler. Host vs. On-site Staff There is a jarring disconnect between the management and the staff. The security team was incredibly kind and helpful, guiding me when I felt abandoned. Similarly, the UK-based manager, Aneesha, was supportive and professional whenever we spoke via the platform. However, the on-site cleaning lady was aggressive and unprofessional. On my final day, I had a misunderstanding regarding the checkout date. While Aneesha called me calmly to clarify, the cleaning lady was downstairs banging on the door violently.

• Paulina (2/5): Poor, old, stinky, outdated - Not much, very outdated, close to Grand Baie Not one to leave bad reviews but this is 100% required to save other happy travelers the headache. Avoid this property at all costs! Far nicer properties to choose close by as well as surrounding areas. It’s old and requires a drastic refurb. The second night it rained and water was falling through the roof, dripping down the walls and onto my head and arms whilst trying to sleep. I sent a message to the property owner requesting to be moved to another property. We were simply ignored and the owner did not bother even responding and were forced to stay for 2 more nights! (Hence the reason for this negative review) Balcony bedroom door was also broken and would not lock. Blinds do not block out light so be prepared to be awake from 5:46am. WiFi is very intermittent if you require connectivity, which thankfully we didn’t. The one star review from us is due to at least having cutlery and a working fridge so we could eat. Wouldn’t think twice about never returning. Search elsewhere and be comfortable. Additionally, we have received an email not to post bad reviews as they will address the issues via WhatsApp feedback which they did not in our case, outrageous
• Marinda (2/5): The stay at the HOTEL not the Apart was perfect - We had to book at the hotel and had to cancel our booking at the Apart Hotel. Would also like to know if it is possible to receive a refund. Due to the dangerous stairs and my medical condition, we could not make use of the apartment at all. Also, the apartment cannot be called a self-catering , there is only a minute microwave and some sort of convection oven very poorly equipped. There was live music every night in the restaurant. Huge beautiful garden just in front of the terrace. Apartment was clean and very comfortable for two. Kitchenette small but enough to be able to prepare everything we needed. Stuff very helpful.

• David (7/5): Good - Nice location with a small private beach on Grand Baie, that has a semi upmarket bar and restaurant. Food was good if a bit overpriced. There was a buffet in the pool bar but didn't try it. The villa was spacious and beds were reasonably comfortable. We were semi self catering for breakfast and some lunches and the kitchen utensils and pans were a bit short of what is needed. A little bit more effort could be made with the equipment but overall we had a good stay.

However, there was just two of us and it was much bigger than what we needed. The owners were absolutely exceptional and their attention to meet our needs. The apartments are in an excellent location in grand Bay and we were able to rent a scooter and visit the entire island from there. It’s not that we didn’t like it. It is we just didn’t need a two bedroom apartment much bigger than what we needed overall had we had someone to split the bill would’ve been absolutely perfect a few times the water stopped working and of course just like anywhere there’s always gonna be Some small bug issues. It’s very hot there and you have to open the windows. There were only air conditioners in the two bedrooms, which was fine in the evening. We were gone most of the day anyway.

• Abby (8/5): Happy traveller - The location was very central to all the activities we wanted to partake in. The people are lovely, friendly and very welcoming. We were helped by anyone we asked to find our way around the island. The pool was so nice and relaxing and the beach was nice and clean. Based on my experiencein South Africa, I had assumed the place would be stocked with tea and coffee. Other than that, it was a peaceful stay.

• Katya (7/5): not bad - the apartment is lovely the amenities such as the pool and the beach was the highlight of the property cleaning staff only came in once so basics such as toilet paper was not refilled, we did not have hot water for the duration of the stay, only had hot water when we checked out this was extremely dissapointing

• Zithobile (7/5): Beautiful and worth the money. - Property was perfect in terms of proximity to activities in North Mauritius. The property was clean and really cute. When you arrive , the apartment is not in the front by the parking but actually at the back. The pool is really nice and relaxing. The lady who manages the property was incredible and very friendly. 🙏🏾 The entire unit is subdivided so those utilising the front of the apartment use a stair case of which is audible from the apartment hotel.
• Andrew (10/5): Great apartment, lovely gardens, fantastic restaurant on the beach - Great apartment, cleaned every day, lovely green garden, fantastic restaurant on the beach. Easy to get the local bus into town or to the beaches. I really enjoyed my stay here. It is a bit confusing on Booking.com - but basically there are a bunch of Villas in 1 hotel complex. Most are owned by the hotel, but some like this one are privately owned. So you will be communicating with the private owner rather than the hotel. He was great by the way, very friendly.
• David (7/5): Good - Very pleased with the cooperation of the owner with a mistake in the booking (by Booking.com) Needs adaptor for the two prong appliances. Tea, coffee, soap would make arrival more pleasant.
• Duduzile (7/5): The place was beautiful, close to a lot of attractions , it was easy to access the local express bus - The place was tranquil, very safe The fact that activities were not part of the stay for private guest and we had to pay extra. Bad treatment from hotel reception as soon as you mention you are private guest . They need to work on their customer service skills.
• Rodrigo (9/5): Superb - It´s a beachfront hotel, I also liked the swimming pool and hotel ammenities. The size of the room was great. The staff was really kind. I won´t say I didn´t like it, but it´s important to know that it is a little far away from the central area. Every time we wanted to go to the bars/restaurants or even to withdraw cash, we had to walk 30 minutes or taking a taxi. Location is great though, calm place and walking distance to some nice beaches around the area.
• Vawda (2/5): Very poor - The restaurant was excellent. The pool was clean. Upon arrival, there was no help for me to carry my bags up the 2 story of tiny steps, which i almost fell down a couple of times carrying my bags up. In the bedroom behind the bed and side pedestal, was very dirty and full of old dust, which made me very uncomfortable about the apartment. The sliding doors had to be wrestled with to be opened. At this point, I called the host to try and cancel or get another room, but instead, I was told that I got one of the nicer apartments and that there is no cancelation or refund. I was messaged through the chat portal of mybooking.com and was told that you can leave the property if you want, but I will lose all the money i paid in full already. I tried calling the host again, but her phone just rang and rang, and she did not pick up my call after that. The toilet felt very unsafe to sit on, and the tiles behind the toilet were broken. As I sat on the toilet, it creeked and sank a bit. It felt like it was going to break off the wall. I was scared to use the toilet. The shower was the worst shower I've experienced as there were no facility for a shower head so I had to shower with the hand telephone thing and to make matters worse the hot water was inconsistent and at times freezing cold or boiling hot.. We burnt quite a few times. That was unbearable! One evening during my stay, to my surprise, the door was left wide open with the spare keys hanging in the lock of the door.This is unacceptable. The host/manager didn't answer the phone as I tried calling many times to inform them of the apartment and it's condition. In a nutshell, I had a horrible time in this apartment or bungalow number 20, which I'm told is a private bungalow at the hotel.

Everyone was friendly and welcoming. The owner even paid a visit to check everything was ok Toilet was a trouble to flush but this was rectified immediately

• Bridget (1/5): Stay was good by security andthe hotel bad and the owner of villa 21 should never be booked - I liked the location of the villa and that is It !!!!! I tell you what I did not like When we arrived at security at the hotel they would not let us in on the property. They did not know about us??? The taxi driver then argued for us with the security for over and hour, The taxi driver took a walk to the villas and then saw my name on villa 21 door. The next morning we went to reception of the hotel and they refuse to listen to us-BECAUSE THE VILLA YOU BOOKED FOR US IS A PRIVATLY OWED VILLA and the hotel has got nothing to do with private villas on the premises. The 3 numbers you have emailed me before leaving Johannesburg-not one picked up when we arrived at 01H00 in the morning because our flight was delayed. The owner of the villa or his persons in charge did nothing to secure our entry on the premises???? Luckly we were 3 adults. Can you imagine if we had small kids. Please do not book out the few private villas on that premises. The villa 21 had no hot water. I told the cleaning lady and she promised she would contact the owner. She never came back to me!!! The kitchen was not fully equipped to cook. It seems to me all Ocean Villas APART hotel is privately owned. The reception would not even phone us a taxi because we are staying in a private villa. The owner of Villa 21 had no interest to make our stay pleasant!!!

• Linda (7/5): Pleasant with room for improvement - The pool area was great. Location was great The staff at the restaurant were not overly helpful or friendly. The quality of the food and food selection was very disappointing and not well presented. Not value for money. There was no information on how guests were to settle the bill if you were not paying buy card or cash on the day. The beach area was rather dismal, disorderly, disorganized and no waiting staff so we could order a drink. Rooms/villa was great however attention to maintenance is lacking and the cleanliness in the kitchen was terrible. Dishses were not washed properly and pots smell. The booking clearly stated no noise after 7pm, however there was live music every night until 10?
• Angela (2/5): We had a relaxing visit but guests should be made fully aware that the villa is privately owned before booking and payme - The pool was ok. The proximity to the ocean was great. Wasn’t actually managed by the hotel so any problems could not be sorted straight away. Privately owned. There was no option to pay for full board. We were only notified of this 2 days prior to our stay even though we had booked well in advance. Lots of stuff broken and not functioning.

• Elna (6/5): Pleasant - Location is great, close to busstops and beach front. Love the restaurant on premises. The shower was really a big problem...only cold or very hot water. Also the interior needs a upgrade...Tiles broken in the bathroom and couch is very uncomfortable. Previous visit we slept at the hotel that had beautiful rooms also rated 3 stars but felt like 4 because of the beautiful interior.
