The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and the room was large and clean but it was absolutely freezing, with no proper service for dinner, and the locations is down a beaten track that not even the most adventurous backpackers would want to venture on in the dark

• Ricky (8/5): Happy Visit, will definitely come back again! :) - I stayed at the Grand Camellia in Nov last year and so this is my 2nd time staying there. I feel very comfortable returning to this hotel because of the warmth of the staff and the good condition of the hotel. I am not much into cold weather and the heater fan in the hotel rooms is one of the reasons I find the hotel very suitable for me to bring my friends there. I was right as I had received favorable feedback from my friends too saying it was a good choice for me to select this hotel.
• Ricky (8/5): Looking forward to my next stay - Overall, I am very happy with the hotel. Nice clean comfortable. The heater provided with each room is a great help to keep the room cozy when the temperature drop at night. Perhaps because the hotel is very new, the food and beverage options can be improved. I think this is important as the nearest restaurant is at least 1 or 2 km away and hotel guests who prefer to dine in will greatly appreciate the convenience of having more options to choose from. Had spoken with the manager about this and he promised to take note and work on it. I am certain my next stay at this lovely hotel will be an even better experience. Thanks for a wonderful stay guys!
• bharat (6/5): Value for money - Nice clean hotel. Good value for money. Located at the top of a hill so requires a car for access or if you are energetic you can walk.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Mysigt, rent och enkelt hotellt - Mysigt och fräscht hotell med fin utsikt över staden. Dock verkade personalen inte särskilt rutinerade och lobbyn gav en vardagsrums känsla.
• Nick (4/5): 2 star hotel - The road leading up to the hotel is terrible. Two vehicles cannot pass and have to drive quite a distance from the main road. Even though there are sign posts showing the direction to the hotel, they are not properly indicated with arrows. Staff were noisy and the reception phone kept ringing late in the evening and early morning. Food was basic. They provide basic accommodation and will not recommend to anyone.
• Tracy (8/5): - The hotel gave me very mixed vibes. I disliked it when I first arrived. Our room had had its door recently mended and the smell of the wood treatment permiated the room. We went to the dining room to have dinner only to be told our choice would take 45 mins to prepare. Unfortunately the staff had tried to tell us this earlier, but their English is not good and we had not understood. As we got to know the staff they were very friendly and helpful and our initial misunderstandings were forgotten. The hotel is in the process of being improved and the staff are doing their best. Unfortunately I did not like Nuwara Eliya as it was Sri Lankan new year which made it very busy.

• Satchi (8/5): Nice hotel with friendly staff - As some of the reviews suggest, there are some small things that the hotel is still learning to nail. However overall I really enjoyed my stay here. The beds were really comfortable, the room was really clean and it was a great size. The staff were friendly and we had dinner at the hotel which was really tasty and reasonably priced. This hotel is a little out of town but the staff can arrange a tuk tuk to town for you at a reasonable price. Our room also had a good view over Lake Gregory which was nice. Only negative was that it was sometimes confusing as the restaurant for breakfast/dinner was on the second floor but both times we had to go down to the ground to find someone as no staff were there. However once we found them, they were very attentative. Overall a really good place to stay.

• giorgio (8/5): hotel nuovo camere grandi ottimo rapporto q/p - Rimane in posizione collinare appartata con veduta campestre,a circa 40minuti a piedi dal centro.Nuovo, aperto da 5 mesi.Ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo.Camera e bagno molto grandi,dotato di ristorante che abitualmente serve in camera . Struttura predisposta per clientela mussulmana ,specie per coloro che portano il burka vedi la grandezza della camera ed il tavolo con sedie proprio da mangiare.Le donne con burka hanno problemi a mangiare in luoghi pubblici
• Mathieu (6/5): Moyen - Moyen. Froid dans l chambre, chauffage bruyant (pas possible de dormir avec). Cher pour ce que c'est.
• Suraweera (10/5): Extremely worth for the cost. - Staff was very helpful and eastern type breakfast was very delicious . Rooms and bathrooms are very clear and comfort. The hotel is bit away from the town but its really worth for the cost and newly built hotel.
