Guest Reviews
- Niina (8/5): Overall a great place to stay - Friendly staff, very beautiful little hotel. Screaming roosters will keep you awake starting from 4am. Pool needs some maintenance.
- Myra (9/5): Stay for the pool, air con and friendly staff - We used the pool every day, multiple times per day. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable with good air con, plenty of space and a decent shower. The supermarket next door was good and the smell of fresh bread from the bakery section wafting over was also enjoyable! Breakfast was something to look forward to, with fruits, bread, eggs and other local foods. The food was a bit hard for the kids but we were able to use spoons and milk etc to give them plainer food. Highly reccommend. There was a rooster that was quite loud right outside our room. You'll either get used to it or bring good earplugs. The dining area was very hot unless the fan was on.
- Nina (9/5): -
- Cathy (8/5): -
- Antonio Kolio (10/5): Would most certainly stay here agaib - Location was perfect and staff very friendly everything was perfect
- Cottee (7/5): - Bathroom repairs
- Jennifer (10/5): Good introduction to The real Samoa - Handy to everything Cafe down the road with good food and shop next door and bank around the corner No problems
- Gauld (8/5): Very good -
- Nikki (9/5): Lovely old building and even nicer people! - This place has a nice relaxed feel with spacious rooms, plenty of common spaces, a pool to cool down, and very friendly helpful staff. We stayed in the family room and enjoyed our big balcony.
- Penelope (9/5): Superb -
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional -
- Katherine (8/5): Amazing accommodation, friendly staff and incredible value for money! We would certainly book again! - The breakfast was amazing with a fantastic selection of food everyday. The accommodation was very clean and tidy. All staff made us feel extremely welcome and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. My husband was not able to join us, and the staff kindly gave us the option to cancel an additional room free of charge which was very generous. My 90 year old Nan fell sick on the last day, the staff went over and beyond to look after her and help her get better. Even letting her stay in an empty room free of charge (we had already check out that morning). We were both blown away by their kindness. Unfortunately there was a very loud rooster that crowed throughout the night. However, I dealt with this by putting on noise cancellation music. Unfortunately my Nan had difficult sleeping.
- Maree (8/5): Very good - The lovely ladies who took care of us! The breakfast was super yummy too!! Thank you for making us feel welcome!! A true home away from home!! Our stay was great!! I can't say there was anything I didn't like!!
- Rosaleena (10/5): Exceptional - The breakfast was truly exceptional. Appreciation is extended to Simauga and Lagi for consistently delivering outstanding care. They exhibited remarkable kindness and attentiveness, always directing us to optimal establishments whenever we sought recommendations for dining and other activities.
- Jimmy (10/5): Holiday inn Paradise - Friendliness of staff, peaceful environment. Nothing l can say
- Falefoa (10/5): Exceptional - The staff were absolutely friendly at their best making sure we were comfortable. The pillows were hard and yucky inside it stained so bad I could smell it even on my hair.
- Maligi (9/5): Superb - Staff n facility None
- Sailiemanu (9/5): I enjoyed 100% my stay especially the family feel and genuine hospitality by Carl all Lynn's family - breakfast was very good, I got my local fruits papaya every morning, pineapple, bananas misiluki kind, bread peanut butter and jam, maybe sausage. got coffee or tea are the basics I look for, the other baked beans, bacon or sausages are good. but not necessary personally. I like having our local supoesi, kokoesi, or suafai too, which they sometimes offer. the panikeke mafolafola is always offered. love the flat pancakes, but don't like the mixture recipe, it was a bit thicker too much flour? make them less thicker, should be ok. add cinnamon suga, and lemon juice as option? love the fresh bread they make it onsite at the bakery
- Fooe2 (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was good. The other guests, the cleanliness, the swimmimg pool, and you can cook if you wished. The location was fine for us, but you will have to take a taxi or local bus, which is regular be cause it is opposite Moto' otua hospital. Nothing to dislike.
- Thelma (10/5): Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Fa'afetai lava <3 - The staff were very accommodating. Loved the bakery next door. Comfortable rooms and amenities. NA
- Jones (10/5): Exceptional -
- Beth (10/5): Beautiful accommodation, amazing staff and lovely surroundings. - The breakfast was delicious and the staff just so lovely to us! When I was sick and couldn't carry my daughter down the stairs one of the staff came and helped us, and it was like staying with family. Will stay again!
- Lisa (8/5): Great place, lovely people. - Location is great, close to everything. Lovely homely place and friendly staff.
Delicious and plentiful breakfasts. The roosters are very loud and persistent from 4:30am.
- Tuala (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kyle (9/5): Superb - Good sleep except for the damn roosters at 2am. Local shop next door for everything you need. 20-30min walk from centre of town but it’s downhill going there. Breakfast was good, the local coconut jam is a must with pancakes and banana. Decent stay and recommend. You can even leave your rental scooter out the back of the property Pool looks nothing like the photo. Staff did tell me it wasn’t safe at night and I had to take a taxi but discovered early on it’s safe to walk everywhere
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional -
- Annettea (10/5): Relaxing. - Breakfast was delicious. Fresh fruits and hot beverages. The staff were welcoming and warm. They have a swimming pool but didn't get to utilize it. I also love Lynn's Supermarket by the road. Convenience at its best. Fa'afetai lava. Can't think of anything negative to mention. I enjoyed Lynn's for the first time.
- Lusa (10/5): Perfect for group of 4 girls 🤍 - We were there for a girls trip for our friends wedding, found this location by accident & it was the perfect size for 4 of us 🤍 aircon was a treat after a busy day out and we had a balcony which was convenient for us to sit and chill out in the shade after being out all day. Maybe the loud roosters every morning, but they gave it all the island experience so there was nothing to complain about 🤍
- Federica (9/5): Nice room - The room was bigger than expected. The staff was welcoming. There was a plastic cover on the mattress under the bed sheets. The pillows were stained under the pillow cover.
- Vanessa (10/5): Awesome place to stay - Air con awesome.
Nice and quiet
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Komisi (9/5): Superb -
- Carol (7/5): Good - I liked the stuff, how friendly they were
- Nese (9/5): We missed it already. We already prebooked for our family visit later this year. - Scenery surroundings so beautiful. Organic fruits including for beakfast & flexibility. Easy going, friendly, helpful. Supermarket is next door & ATM. 2mins walk up to tha main national hospital. Happy & helpful staff. Nothing I didn't like except a blanket to spare.
- Malele (8/5): Very good - Everything was so lovely. Love the service, very good staff, breakfast, love the beautiful garden. Love the location too 😍
- Rowena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jack (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely facilities, easily accessible to each room and well catered Nothing
- Natalie (4/5): Disappointing stay - decent rooms but the shop experience, roosters and mess took away from it. - Fresh cooked meals for breakfast and nice spacious rooms with balcony. Great Italian restaurant in the same street within walking distance and a few a short drive away. We had broken our stay up with accomodation in West Upolu, Savaii and wanted final few days to be in Apia itself .
Upon arrival the hotel is located right next to the shops which charges one fee for locals and exorborant fee for non locals or children. Also whilst the hotel has a water filter you cant use it and they direct you to buy the water from their shop next door.
There are resident roosters that keep you up ALL night but that seems to be the norm for the location of the hotel. If given a room facing the shop there is a light which shines in the room throughout the night also.
When we arrived the area around the pool was very dirty with broken surfboards, benches etc but this did get fixed the next day and we enjoyed a nice cool down but wouldnt risk dunking our heads as parts on the edge looked a little green.
Overall disappointing even for a budget hotel
- Lelevaga (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly staff , very home feel, big rooms nice breakfast eggs, very close to shops and hospital, close to city. Nothing
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Viliame (9/5): Superb -
- Gary (8/5): Very good -
- John (10/5): Beautiful guesthouse in Apia - Beautiful old house, lovely garden and pool, comfortable bed. The staff were kind and helped to make our stay in Apia fabulous. Nice breakfast and comfortable bed. Nothing.
- Dee (8/5): Very good -
- Luisa (10/5): Exceptional - The staff are friendly and helpful
- Faavale (9/5): It was amazing and beautiful feels like home and the pool help us a lot with the weather definitely coming back here - Lovely and beautiful Nothing
- Heiata (10/5): Highly recommend. Great location - The hotel was very tidy and the staff were supportive and accommodating. The rooms were very spacious. Close to the supermarket, gas station and ATMs. Suitable for families or solo travellers. Amazing Cafe out front
- Kambiz (8/5): Very good -
- Nadeen (8/5): Very good -
- Coan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jayanraj (10/5): Amazing place in Apia - Amazing place run by very friendly staff. Free wifi was fast. Breakfast was good. Separate full range kitchen for guests. Peaceful location away from Apia center. In my room no. 16 it was very difficult to take bath since shower turner had no handle. Either water was cold or very hot.
- Matai (10/5): Exceptional - My room was really big and there was aircon in the bedroom part of it. The staff were really friendly and served delicious breakfast. They also called me a taxi the next day when I was leaving.
- Janice (10/5): Looking forward to our next holiday at Lynns Getaway. - Close to shops and ATMs. Fata and her staff made all their guests feel welcomed. A home away from home with the extras.
- Moutere (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful location and the staff were super friendly. Recommended.
- Keishanee (10/5): Great stay. Would stay again next time I’m in Samoa - The pool. The room was great. Awesome location a d very friendly staff
- Arona (10/5): Exceptional - We loved it at Lynns Gateway Hotel. The rooms were spacious, and the bathrooms were in reasonable condition - very spacious. We were in one of the family rooms.
The neccessities outweighed the aesthetics, i.e., the fridge was excellent for ensuring the drinks remained super cold, the aircon was working, beds and pillows were comfortable, and for townie kids like mine , the Wifi was fast and we had mulitple devices.
Breakfast was simple. Too hot to eat or drink coffee for us townies. More like what they can improve? Maybe have more towels readily available everyday. In saying that, we asked and the staff moved to accommodate us.
For our non speaking Samoans, just ask. Whatever you need, just ask the staff - they want to help.
- Garth (10/5): A relaxing great stay - Stayed 5 nights in total.
Breakfast was plentiful and ongoing. Staff were friendly and really helpful. The main building is cool and airy, it has covered verandahs front and rear and lots of comfy chairs in the public areas. There is onsite off road parking. There is a pool onsite, a real bonus on hot days. The rooms all have screened louvred windows, a small refrigerator, an en-suite and AC.
There is an associated general store next door (liquor sales) that includes a bakery, that is open till 8.30 pm and is open on Sundays which is a bonus. They make really nice bread and great pies and baked goods.
There is a gas station next door as well, closed on Sunday. NB: No liquor sales in Samoa on Sunday so stock up on Saturday if thats your thing.
Hotel arranged a shuttle transfer to airport, better price than a taxi. I liked it all.
- Shirin (10/5): We were welcomed on arrival by Lance, who was very nice, knowledgeable and helpful even arranged for us to get SIM card. - Very welcoming, helpful None
- Brenda (4/5): Disappointing - Management, trying to organize Hotel guests, untimely.
- Joanne (7/5): Good -
- Ann (4/5): Very welcoming staff but poor maintenance and not what we booked - The staff were amazing and made us very welcome Great breakfasts and a chef on hand if we required an evening meal We booked a unit with balcony but got a small very tired studio that needs a complete overhaul quite disappointed with the overall condition facilities were very basic and shower was not working properly
- Julie (1/5): I’d wouldn’t recommend it to anyone - We never stayed at the advertised and booked site, they moved us and put us somewhere else round the corner at Karl’s It was very basic, very dirty . Not what we booked .
Mouldy pillows, dirty cooking utensils, urine smelling bathroom, litter in the yard and outside . Disgusting and so disappointing .
- Roland (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly staffs Nothing
- Anonymous (10/5): Wonderful short stay - What a welcoming home! It was such a interesting and calm home. Some wonderful staff and nice room. Location is far from beach or centre. However taxis are cheap and it’s easy to get around.
- Judith (4/5): needs work - some days breakfast was better than others. Always eggs and papaya, and a mix of other things - pancakes, bread, bananas, coconut Upstairs lounge area (good internet) was pleasant to sit around and would be good if in a group. Staff were always pleasant and engaging. Best coffee was in the restaurant next door. Roosters, cats and dogs galore. Didn't get the room we expected, but one still near the main house, so no internet in the room. Place was overbooked, people were given rooms at various locations nearby as well as the main property, seemingly randomly: anecdotally they were way below expectations. Luck of the draw when you arrived. Pool needed a good clean and like the whole place was desperately in need of maintenance-only sun lounge was broken- too many little things! I would have liked a ceiling fan.
- Olive (10/5): Exceptional - ・There is a bathtub and a shower with hot water
・The Samoan pancakes (about the size of a golf ball) from lynn's supermarket next door were delicious.
・The room is spacious and very satisfying! ・Wifi was not connected at night, but it was connected in the morning.
- Nadja (8/5): Wonderful welcoming staff in a guest house that helps you embrace the Samoan lifestyle. - Friendly, helpful, caring staff. Great swimming pool, lots of space, nice and relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast with local food items and varied from day to day. Authentic and a good place to meet other guests making it not as anonymous as a hotel. It's a bit noisy, it's a busy location with some traffic (as far as Samoa is busy) and the main house is a bit noisy because of the large open areas. Also, if you expect a five star accommodation then this is not for you, book this if you value authenticity and a great atmosphere.
- Janice (9/5): Superb - Wonderful staff. Particularly Fata who was very helpful. Comfy beds. Huge bathroom with big spa bath. Location was a bit out of downtown but fine if you have a car. Took us 30 min to walk to waterfront.
- Anonymous (10/5): The staff were amazing and so helpful. Breakfast was great every morning - Great location, pool, cafe and supermarket next door
- Pilisi (10/5): Overall we enjoyed every moment of our stay and can't wait to come back! :) - Conveniently located mere STEPS away from an ATM & small supermarket that bakes fresh goods/pastries/Savouries. Went here quite a few times in our 5 day stay to top up Milk etc or grab a snack when we were tuckered out from site seeing
A café & a restaurant next door also; the restaurant is right next to the petrol station and serves delicious Masima Povi (salted lamb?)
Central to Apia town (6mins drive to Apollo Movie theatre) where we watched Little Mermaid Live Action as it was a sickly hot day so nice reprieve from the heat for my toddler - we had already seen it but it was so much better watching in a small island location as EVERYONE was laughing at all the little jokes/quirks throughout the movie which helped us enjoy it more than the 1st time we watched it back home lol
Laundry service available at a reasonable price which was amazing during our busy week. Some of the clothes i still haven't worn since having them washed (3 weeks ago) but they still smell ✨️DIVINE✨️
Breakfast was fresh every morning and delicious! Nice variety, usually an assortment of pancakes/eggs/siamu popo (coconut jam) fresh fruit; papaya/bananas/oranges/coconut/ omelette depending on the day
The staff were so lovely & hospitable. We felt like we were truly at home at Lynns Getaway, the room was spacious, clean & comfortable ... my 2 year old daughter had plenty of room to run circles around me with her last bit of energy from the day which helped her sleep even more soundly in the comfy beds 🥰
We came here after a 2 day stint @ Alec's Hotel (about 50m down the road) which I do not recommend if you value cleanliness. The air-conditioning made all of us cough/feel sickly. The pool could have been a bit cleaner; was quite a bit of debris which is understandable as it's surrounded by beautiful lush greenery however there was also quite a bit of "junk" around in the garden/pool areas and the pool swing chair has Mold also. That being said it is outside and has been for how many years.. none of these things detracted from our enjoyment & the coolness of the pool everyday
- Matthewac (9/5): A home away from home in Apia. - I arrived on a redeye from Brisbane, and beyond organizing a transfer, the staff were welcoming and had the room prepared for a nap and breakfast thereafter. The place itself is in a quiet location about thirty minutes on foot from the downtown area and boasts lots of comfortable places to sit, relax and read. Not a thing here disappointed me, and I'll be sure to stay at Lynn's again next time I'm in Apia.
- William (9/5): Superb -
- Julien (7/5): Good -
- Rita (9/5): Family Friendly - Loved Our Room, Very Spacious ❤️ Catered to my family and reasonably priced.
- Christmas (10/5): Amazing and will definitely come back - The service was amazing!! The staff was friendly, helpful and were lovely people!! Any minor issue we had was resolved straight away :))) The room was so good and exceeded our expectations!! The location was great and close to the town!! The amenities such as the swimming pool was always a good way to cool off after a long day and was always clean!! The breakfast was nice and fresh!! We were always greeted with friendly faces and with great customer service!! :))) overall 10/10 for Lynn’s getaway and will definitely be coming back again next year Nothing
- Natasha (7/5): Home away from home - Clean and comfortable
- Joseph (10/5): Exceptional - I loved the kindness and welcomeness we received from your staff. I loved how clean & comfy our room was. Even though we have family we can stay with, we decided next time we come with our older kids, we will stay there again. Thank you. I didn't find anything that I disliked.
- Graeme (9/5): Will come back again - Great place, perfect room and overall accommodation Nothing
- Ria (10/5): The staff were so friendly, we bacame family. Felt like we were home. It was so comfortable. - Everything.
- Uesifili (9/5): I really appreciated the great care and service provided by the staff. Excellent. - Breakfast was excellent.
- Colin (9/5): Loved it. Would like to return again v - Loved the communal breakfast. Plenty of choice. Swimming pool is great. Can see that they will have to spend a bit of time on maintenance asap - crack in shower base etc but really nothing I didn't like.
- Ekata (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kim (9/5): Superb - The staff and food are amazing The only downside are the early morning roosters
- Adam (7/5): Good -
- Cheung (9/5): Beautiful lil gem - Our daughter enjoyed the pool Lighting in the dining area
- Tia (1/5): Captains log; Maritime waring This place is a titanic disaster - Loa arranged a rental car at short notice... Lynns states "no pets" however upon arrival your greeted by at least a dozen cats located outside dining entrance a resident diningroom feline ensures cross contamination and zero possibility of consuming any cuisine prepared within .....other zoological sub genus are abound such as several barking dogs to ensure sleepless nights ...Endless rooster crowing adds to the restlessness of this establishment ...upon schedule one can observe defaecating felines whilst upon top deck....Room service is absent, given it was performed once during our 5 day stay upon the last 24hr cycle afterpersonal request ....plumbing is inadequate ...late night bottle clinking mumbles of pepelo in a carport below our balcony on a neighboring property added an additional pirate family environ...Out front parking was a high risk area and was often occupied by beggars and inconsiderate public drivers.
- Southgate (8/5): Very good -
- Laura (8/5): great budget stay. bathrooms could use improvements - Room was great! loved having a balcony. pool was clean and enjoyable. we had an ant problem in our room. before we even had any food in the room, they were all over the walls and table. the bathroom was also just okay. the toilet paper was not well stocked and the shower head was broke.
- Hope (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lou (9/5): Superb - The staff here were so lovely. They really looked after us on our stay! Would recommend
- Tilomai (9/5): Place met my expectations and will stay there again. - Breakfast was delicious.
- Ilse (6/5): It was ok for short stay - Breakfast was adequate, nice dining room My room was opposite the back of the supermarket & their air conditioner was very noisy could not use the pool as it was not cleaned
- Elena (4/5): Disappointing - Room was big size Felt very dirty, one pillow cover was so disgusting as per photo
- Alex (9/5): Superb -
- Howard (6/5): Pleasant -
- Seutatia (8/5): Peace and quiet nice and clean - Love the breakfast I mostly have samoan food so yumm. The ladies who work there are so lovely and helpful. It's just the driveway most of the time people parked there in front of the shop but it's a really good place to stay and value for money.
- Pasikalia (10/5): Exceptional - The staff were amazing, very friendly and always helpful especially one of the ladies her name is Loaloa, the staff Jean and Fatu were very good. Everything was awesome, just the double bed I slept on was very hard but other then that everything and everyone was 100%
- Sheila (10/5): Exceptional - Very cosy hotel, super friendly staff. Delicious home made breakfast.
- Kirks (8/5): really lovely place to stay was made to feel very welcome. we had our own private deck upstairs and could see the beach - Staff were lovely, rooms were a good size.
Breakfast was nice with fresh fruit, toast, cereal and pancakes.
Biggest avocado I have ever seen and so tasty
- Peter (8/5): Very good - staff Pillow was very lumpy - ended up using my towel for a pillow. Mattress was ok.
Breakfast is very ordinary but the ladies who prepared it were lovely.
