Guest Reviews
- Peter (10/5): - Excellent stay, great hosts, lovely food and great nights sleep, thoroughly recommend.
- Michael (8/5): - Overall the accommodation was lovely nice room and friendly staff and the food was reasonably priced and very tasty the only thing I was advise if your staying at the property it's probably best to book a table for the restaurant at time of booking because it does get busy we didn't so wasn't guaranteed a table and there's no where near else to eat lucky enough they were able to fit us in
- Jutta (10/5): - Lovely place so glad we found it, super Pet friendly, great staff, superb food and lovely clean rooms. Could not have been better.
- Samantha (10/5): Highly recommend this charming Inn! - We stayed one night at the Natterjack Inn and couldn’t be happier with our choice. It’s excellent value for money, with warm, welcoming staff who made us feel right at home. There’s plenty of free parking, and the rooms were spotless, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed.
Dinner at the pub was a real highlight, the food was absolutely delicious. We also enjoyed a hearty, sumptuous full English breakfast before checking out, which was the perfect send-off.
The Inn is dog-friendly, with a lovely garden area just outside the rooms where our dog could stretch her legs and have a good run around. It’s a thoughtful touch that made our stay even more enjoyable.
- Claire (10/5): Fabulous - Sadly we weren’t staying very long. Just the one night and we had to head straight to the wedding we were attending. So we didn’t see our room until after midnight. The key was in the door so nice and easy access. Breakfast was fabulous. Much needed after a boozy wedding. The room was cute and comfortable. Love the fully tiled bathroom. Sorry no photos as didn’t have a chance. Beautiful location too.
- Thomas (10/5): - Fantastic little BnB. A friend an I were visiting Paul Nicholls' racing stable in Ditcheat, and we didn't know how difficult the walk was along the A-road.
Upon hearing we were going, the owner offered to give us a lift in the morning after breakfast (which was also brilliant). Made us feel welcome from the get-go. Thank you for the stay!
- Christopher (6/5): - Pub food was not very good. Room was too hot no air con. Breakfast and staff are very good.
- George (10/5): - Very comfy beds!
- Sarah (10/5): - Brilliant in every way
- Anna (10/5): - We absolutely loved our stay here at the Natterjack, run by lovely people, clean rooms, car charging point & fantastic food. Stayed for our trip to Glastonbury festival and the short drive from the festival to the hotel was perfect. Thanks so much!
- Tim (10/5): - Great place and base would highly recommend.
- kelly (10/5): - Absolutely stunning place. Food in pub amazing and the best peppercorn sauce 😍 also service was amazing.
- Linda (10/5): - Lovely stay, very friendly helpful staff couldn’t do enough for us. Twin room no 4 small but very comfy, very nicely decorated, nice views to the left. Lovely bathroom with nice hot shower. We had an evening meal and breakfast there the food was lovely, service excellent. Plenty of parking, nothing much near by but that suited us. Would highly recommend and hope to return sometime.
If you want to eat there at night make sure you book a table in advance, we weren’t made aware of this before hand and found them to be booked to our dismay, but they very kindly managed to fit us in.
- Robin (10/5): - Despite the proprietor being busy serving in the pub, he greeted me, booked me in and directed me to my room. He requested and noted the time I required breakfast the following day. Next morning, he greeted me and directed me to the breakfast room, when he took my order and served up a perfectly cooked meal within a most acceptable time. An excellent experience.
- Amanda (10/5): - The owner went above and beyond for us. Highly recommend.
- Lorraine (8/5): - Staying here with two adults & a large dog in room 4 was a tight squeeze.
Garden bench was rotten and broken.
Very busy road outside but I wasn’t aware of this at night, the accommodation is set back a bit.
Seems like locals love this place, the restaurant was full. The staff are very friendly.
- Christina (10/5): Fantastic stay - We stayed in Room 8 for four nights and had a wonderful stay. Breakfast was made to order by the chef and was absolutely delicious. The dinners were magnificent – and the Sunday roast was one of the best we've ever had! Everything was made from scratch, with perfectly cooked vegetables and a choice of pork, beef, lamb, or chicken (or even a mix of meats!).
Even though it was Mother’s Day and fully booked, the quality and portions were just as high – no drop in standards at all. Highly recommended!
- Philip (10/5): Weekender in Somerset - Easy to find and good parking. Comfy rooms attached to busy pub. All in all a good find that i would definitely stay at again when travelling in the area.
- Jason (10/5): - Was ideal for us it was comfortable . Shower was warm . WiFi was good and the people were great . Breakfast was great . . Stayed at most places in the area and this place is a diamond ! They should charge at least another 15 pounds per night
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Our second visit and again we found it a welcoming and friendly place to stay.
- Trevor (10/5): - A pleasant pub with good food. Accommodation is in a small building behind the pub so very quiet.
- Marie-Louise (10/5): - Friendly staff
Food excellent
Room fabulous
Bed comfy slept really well
- Malcolm (10/5): - Fabulous stay
Amazing breakfast
- Margaret (6/5): - Room was very’tired’ and bathroom heating was inadequate.
- Paul (8/5): - The is a lovely little in, ideal for a short stop-over. The staff in the pub were extremely welcoming, it has a great atmosphere, and the food was outstanding.
The only down side is, the room I stayed in is next to a commercial site which has bright spotlights, this means that even with the curtains closed the room wasn't overly dark. Also the bed wasn't that comfortable, so I didn't sleep very well.
Overall a pleasant stay, and possibly somewhere I would consider for a future stay.
- Michele (10/5): Natterjack overnight - Great pub with bright airy rooms, fluffy duvets & pillows & super clean.
Excellent shower, all amenities, tea, coffee etc - superb Sunday roast for late lunch & full English to start us off for our onward travel.
Highly recommended
- Mark (10/5): Highly Recommended - Great accommodation, excellent food and most importantly a good range of very well kept beers.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We received a very warm welcome, all staff were very friendly. The accommodation is beautifully decorated and very clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
- Denise (10/5): - The Natterjack is such a lovely place. Everything was exceptional. As a solo traveller it was particularly comforting to be looked after by such lovely staff. The food was excellent and I had a good nights sleep. I would highly recommend this wonderful Inn
- Martin (10/5): Vegan couple - Room was comfortable and had a walk in shower room with good shower. The staff were very willing to accommodate vegan options on their meal choices and there was one vegan option on the specials board (please not risotto - why is risotto the goto vegan meal for every hotel - why not get some frozen beyond beef burgers and give a vegan burger option for instance)
- Sheila (10/5): - The premises, staff and restaurant were all excellent. Lovely stay, definitely will be back.
- Katherine (10/5): - An absolutely lovely stop over at The Natterjack! The staff could not have been nicer, nor could the food! Lovely room with an incredible bed made for a really lovely stay. We will definitely be back for a night of R&R on the way down to the West Coast, thanks so much!
- Gillian (10/5): - Have stayed before and will again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): One night - Lovely room, clean and comfortable, staff chatty and friendly.
Cockerel wake up call was a shock, but not venues fault
- Simon (6/5): Nice little room, for one night stop over - Stayes for onenight in room 2. Lovely decor small bedroom, bathroom is as big with bath and shower. In the room was a fan, tv, hairdryer and coffee making facilities. Only 2 negatives, the bed linen was damp and we couldn't sleep in the bed had to sleep on the top and we had some blankets in the car so used them. 2 you could hear every footstep of the people in the room above us. There was no one really around to ask how your stay was so unable to report about the bed linen. - I would say they didn't check it was 100% dry when making the bed.
- neil (4/5): Great potential - Great people but Internet sooo slow and noisy by main road - also earliest breakfast was 7.30 and they weren't ready. Place us lively building and rooms nice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfect last minute booking. Friendly staff. Room delightful. Breakfast good.
- Laurence (10/5): - Hosts very pleasant, served me a sandwich and drinks on Sunday evening although officially closed. Excellent breakfast
- Carly (10/5): - We stayed at this property as we were visiting shepton mallet prison. Check in was great, staff were wonderful, friendly and very helpful. Room was perfect just what we needed after a ghost hunt. Breakfast was the best we've ever had. Next visit to the prison we will definitely be returning to the natterjack inn
- Martin (10/5): - Really nice room
Food was excellent
Very friendly people
- rachel (10/5): - Lovely place for a stop over rooms are comfortable and clean . The staff were fantastic and extremely helpful and the food was also very good. Would definitely recommend the Natterjack as a place to stay and to eat.
- Rachel (10/5): - Adequate size room, perfect for short stay. Spotlessly clean would be much improved with blackout curtains with no gap between wall and curtain
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good and not so good - We stayed one night, the room was lovely however a couple of niggles: the quilt was very thick and heavy which made for an uncomfortably hot and sticky summer night; coupled with the rubber backed mattress protector, it was not pleasant. The freebie toiletries had been opened and used, the drawers in the beautiful chest of drawers had a lot of crumbs/bits inside. soundproofing very poor; we were on the ground floor and noise from upstairs was very disturbing. The food at the pub/restaurant was exceptional, the staff were wonderful. I would add this is no longer a pub - definitely a restaurant, so after we had finished out evening meal we had to hope for some stools at the bar to be able to sit the rest of the evening, otherwise go back to our room.
- Rod (10/5): Fabulous - Everything fabulous
- John (10/5): - Check-in was easy and efficient. The rooms were charming, and the beds comfortable. Great shower. Everywhere was absolutely spotless. The staff are charming and super friendly. Breakfast was delicious, with a good selection to choose from.
- Taylor (10/5): - Honestly I have only amazing things to say about the natterjack. Amazing grounds and room, and the food was just amazing. Pub and restaurant, lovely. Besides all that, the staff and owner were just the best people. The owner, Adrian helped us get a ride on more than one occasion and offered us a ride himself lol. We would have been lost without his kindness. 10000/10 stars, highly recommend to a friend. And check out their official website before you book, you can book there as well and there’s a lot more details.
- Garry (10/5): - Very comfortable rooms. Clean linen.
Good cooked breakfast.
- Debbie (10/5): Good stay - Lovely room, very clean tidy and comfortable. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent. The pub has a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere
- Paul (10/5): Great stay - We stayed 2 nights as we were attending a funeral. The food, service and room were all top notch. Wouldnt hesitate to recommend the Natterjack.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Average - Ok but wouldnt recommend it
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff was incredibly helpful and friendly
- Gordon (10/5): Fantastic - Great stay as always food amazing
- Samuel (10/5): - Great rooms out the back in a separate building of a wonderful pub. Great food and drink. Wonderful breakfast. Good for work or pleasure. Will stay again.
- Elayne (10/5): - Clean and comfortable stopover. Excellent food in the Restaurant. Staff very friendly and provided excellent service. Wonderful breakfast. It would be even better with decent WiFi!
- Jane (10/5): - Good value, helpful staff and excellent breakfast
- Michael (10/5): - Great greeting, excellent service throughout, great evening meal, good choice, great breakfast, room was clean , warm and comfortable, quiet and central location
- Andrew (10/5): - As always, an excellent place to stay, with great beer and fine food just next door.
- Karen (10/5): - Enjoyable stay
- Ian (10/5): - Our room was modern and very comfortable. The Natterjack evening dining was clearly the place to go as it was constantly busy with a good vibe and the food was excellent and reasonably priced.A recommended stop for any Glastonbury visitors in the summer !
- Steve (8/5): Welcoming hotel. - Arrived at hotel on Monday night and it was all locked up. It closes on a Monday night, so there’s no bar or food service.
A phone number is on the door though, so I called the owner named Adrian who guided me as to how to get into a room that was reserved for me. He was also kind enough to advise of some nice places to eat nearby.
The only room he had available was a twin room with very narrow single beds. If your any taller than say 5ft 11 inches the bed is also quite short and feet are against bottom of bedstead.
Not sure what other rooms are like, so cannot say all rooms are like this.
Lovely breakfast in the morning freshly cooked and made to feel welcome.
Pity restaurant was closed when I arrived. It came highly recommended which is why I booked this hotel.
Would I return?? Absolutely. Just not on a Monday night.
- Christina (10/5): Wonderful food and accommodation - When we first checked in, the standard room was too small, but we were moved to the deluxe room no. 9, which was great. Parking is easy and seconds away from accommodations.
We chose Natterjack because recently we had the most amazing Sunday roast there with our son, partner, and dog, Ike. We weren't surprised that the food was amazing. What an amazing kitchen team!
A great added touch was a slate plate iced with happy anniversary and two handmade brownies.
We will book it again next time we are visiting our son, puppy, and partner in Shepton Mallet for a few days.
- Stephanie (10/5): Welcoming & Accomodating! - We stayed at the Natterjack Inn for a wedding in the local area. The owners were so welcoming and friendly, they were very accommodating and were able to sort an early check-in for us. Excellent communication in advance of our stay. Room was comfortable and clean with everything we could need. Loved the pub next door and the breakfast was great.
Would highly recommend and would stay again.
- Tracy (10/5): Great stay. - Lovely room and bathroom, easy access and parking. Great food in the pub served by pleasant staff.
Overall super value for money.
Had loud and arguing family on second night but not the pubs fault.
- matt (10/5): Comfy and clean - Comfy room, nice and clean and a lovely breakfast. Well located and staff were very friendly
- Jonathan (10/5): Excellent - Excellent. Lovely room, great shower and a very very good breakfast.
- Carol (10/5): - Everything was lovely includiing the owners and staff.
- Sue (10/5): Very welcoming - Charming place, comfortable rooms, friendly service, excellent food. Will be back!!
- Rhona (10/5): A little Gem of a place - We had a wonderful 2 night stay here as we were going to a wedding in the area . Room was lovely and very clean, breakfast was really good with a good choice. We pre booked a table for evening meal
which was also excellent. Only small complaint is that it would be good to have some seating area to have a drink before your meal. A little gem of a place
- Mary (10/5): The Natterjack - A delightful place to stay just outside Shepton Mallet.
Cosy, clean and comfortable.
Breakfast and dinner were delicious.
- Prudence (10/5): - Very nice situation, friendly helpful staff, excellent breakfasts. Booking essential for dinner though as it’s popular!
- Michael (10/5): - My husband and l booked for one night . We arrived at a very busy lunch time but were greeted with genuine kindness ,found a table ,served a drink . The staff were all very friendly . Our room was clean and warm as it was minus 2 through the night.
- Melissa (10/5): - Excellent food, staff and room was very comfortable. Exceeded our expectations
- John (6/5): - The breakfast was just a bit too early for us - finishing at 09.15.
- Mark (10/5): Flawless - Beautiful location, with beautiful views, will absolutely be returning in the foreseeable future.
- David (10/5): - Brilliant accommodation and pub served great food and beers, will certainly stay again
- Howard (10/5): - Stayed at the Natterjack for three nights in an upstairs room, located in the "Cider House". Adrian showed us to the room and it was found to be really comfortable for the stay. Well furnished with period furniture and well decorated, it was a compact room with two single beds, more than adequate for our short stay. The bathroom was large with a walk in shower, with an invigorating overhead rain shower. There were adequate towels, of good quality, and bath/shower provisions.
Throughout our stay the room was warm and comfortable, with a lovely feather quilt that provided a great sleep.
The breakfast was also a treat, with an excellent choice and is taken in the pub. There is a choice of cereals, juice, yoghurt with berry compote and a choice of hot meals that are cooked freshly for you by the excellent guys in the kitchen.
On our first evening we ate in the pub and the food/ menu/ service and atmosphere could not be faulted. The choice of food and the quality of the meals was exceptional and I must say some of the best "pub food" I have experienced. As mentioned, the guys in the kitchen do a superior job and should be complemented.
Adrian is an excellent host and our stay at the Natterjack was an excellent find and one that will be registered for future utilisation.
- Alan (10/5): - Very hepful allowing access to room early so I could change for a wedding
- Emma (8/5): - Lovely room if a little bit of a squeeze. Clean bathroom with lovely toiletries albeit every time you showered a puddle would be created. Kettle with coffee & tea. Good choice of breakfast & large servings. We ate in one evening & pleasantly surprised by choice & quality of dishes. Road noise not as bad as anticipated despite having a room nearer the road.
- Karen (10/5): Perfect hosts - Very friendly welcome, easy check in and amazing food!! Comfortable room, lovely shower and bathroom facilities. Very accommodating hosts will most definitely return.
- Deborah (6/5): Ok … just - It was Ok … stayed in worse & stayed in better.Only stayed 1 night which was Ok … the room was small and the bed was not a full sized double so we were cramped. Cosy during the winter months Not ideal on a very warm summer night ! We booked an evening meal in the restaurant via email on The Natterjack website to be told that the office hadn’t let the kitchen know so had to drive into Wells to eat. On reflection we should probably have stayed in Wells. The Natterjack is perfect if you are visiting the Bath & West Showground but a bit isolated for anything else. Can’t complain about the cleanliness & the bathroom / shower was spacious.
- veronica (10/5): - Loved the place. Can’t find any fault at all. Will stay there many times more.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely accommodation and excellent food. Very friendly staff.
- Sally (10/5): Fabulous - Great room, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Evening meal piping hot and very tasty. Delightful staff who go above and beyond. Highly recommend.
- Helen (10/5): - Just awesome. Took my 17st 5lb mastiff and they couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. We were there to do vulnerable breeds show at bath and West Show. We will definitely be back next year.
- Stuart (10/5): Great stay - Food was great, staff were all very friendly, the room was clean and comfortable
- Brian (10/5): Perfect stop - The staff and manager couldnt have done more to help. Good evening meal and good breakfast. Very good value for money. Dog friendly. Thankyou to the staff
- Mike (10/5): Natterjack Inn is on our list for future stays. - A nice place to stop for the night.
Good beer and food and breakfast was lovely. Staff very friendly.
- Sharon (10/5): Great little find - Love it here, stayed a few times now, rooms are lovely, clean and comfy. Pub is friendly and lovely food. Accepts dogs which is great.
- colin (10/5): Cosy and comfortable - Very nice stay and excellent home cooked food in the evening and for breakfast.
- Paul (4/5): not happy. won't stay again - I could not get into hotel when I arrived, the link for the access code did not work. I called the phone number on the door and no answer, the mobile number on the door was international and only got voicemail. had to go away and check in later. Shower had mould on the ceiling. room was freezing. waited 40 mins for an omelette at breakfast as they ruined the first one apparently.
- Michael (10/5): Such a friendly place - Such a friendly welcome, I had phoned ahead to say we could be late as stuck on traffic, we were advised of the kitchen closing but we should still make that comfortably. To make things easier, we ordered drinks & decided we would eat before going to the room. Lovely meal, served with a smile, and when finished, we returned to the bar. The owner eventually was able to finish his duties, & joined us for a great chat & drink. Loved everything about the place with a nice breakfast made fresh to order to set us up for the day. Will definitely visit again when in the area. Regards
- Sally (10/5): - Lovely hotel, very convenient for Royal Bath Showground and food is excellent. They also allow dogs. We will be back.
- Katharine (10/5): Excellent - Very comfortable, clean and quiet. Lovely breakfast. Would recommend.
- Stuart (10/5): Great stay, we’love be back. - I really lovely stay at the Natterjack Inn. Really friendly staff, great food and drink. The owner had great knowledge of the local area with some lovely walks. Thoroughly looking forward to going back.
- Donna (10/5): Lovely - Lovely accommodation onsite to a pub, our room was overlooking the garden and farm storage, ample parking, room was generally clean and ok for an overnight stay or 2. Bathroom was spacious, shower powerful and plenty of hot water, the toilet in our room was difficult to flush and took a long time to refill properly. Evening meal was amazing. Breakfast good too. Hosts lovely and friendly. Will be staying again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Brillant stay - excellent meals and really friendly and helpful staff
- Alison (8/5): Very nice! - Lovely little find, very homely and good sized bathroom. Bedroom nicely appointed but on the small size, nowhere to sit apart from on the bed. Still great for a couple of nights.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly atmosphere and very helpful staff.
- JOHN (10/5): - Very nice stay hosts were very friendly and breakfast was very good
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Lovely twin room in a welcoming pub
