Food: Good quality and generous portions Staff: Very friendly and helpful We stayed 3 nights and for the dinner, we wish that there was a bit more variety in the menu. It was either Shabu-Shabu or Sukuiyaki as the main course for the dinner and having it for 3 nights was a bit too much for our palette.

- Marion (10/5): Goregeous hotel and rooms - We were unaware on our reservation through Hotels.com that our reservation included breakfast and dinner. We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and dinner was basically the same every night - not what I am looking for in a vacation. Still the dinner is very good. Having said that, all the food is very Japanese, so not what all travelers can do. The hotel itself is gorgeous with amazing amenities. The staff lovely although not too comfortable with English which is fine of course. We particularly enjoyed the massage chairs, cold plunge and sauna. But the in room onsen bath was my favorite!

- Cassandra (10/5): The best 1 night stay we had in Kyushu - I was hesitant to book this resort initially as there was only 1 recent review when I booked, and the older reviews of the original hotel were not that good. However, I decided to take a chance and I'm so glad I did!!! The resort is newly renovated and all the furnishings and decor are all very clean and new. The resort location was ideal as I wanted to be located near Mifuneyama Rakuen so I could go see the Autumn colours at night (only 6 min drive away). The facilities on the resort were fantastic.... the spa pool required swimsuits which the resort thoughtfully prepared for each guest, all packed in individual tote bags. The hot spring pool was a a bit small, but the resort was not packed when we stayed, so there were no other people around when we used the spa pool or hot spring. But what impressed me the most has to be the amazing service we received. Most of the staff did not speak English or could only speak minimal English, but they always tried their best to understand our needs, and made us feel so comfortable. The staff's dedication and service quality are top-notch. The food was so amazing as well (The sukiyaki dinner and Japanese breakfast included in the stay were so good!) Nothing!! Even though we didn't speak the same language, language was never a barrier. One of the staff even wrote a card in English to apologise for their lack in English proficiency, but it went to show how much service dedication they had even though we only stayed 1 night.
