La tv era molto piccola, vecchia, con problemi di connessione. Mancava internet, per un guasto. Lo abbiamo saputo solo in struttura. La palestra d’inverno è chiusa.

Gaia was super friendly and helpful, she recommended us different places, helped us with our itinerary, etc. The only regret is that we didn't stay at Sarna longer.

Loistava sijainti, pihassa oli parkkipaikkoja ja viidessä minuutissa kävelit keskustaan. Asunnossa oli myös minikeittiö. Valaistusta voisi olla enemmän ja asunnosta puuttui kokovartalopeili (ainoa peili oli kylppärissä). Peilin voisi laittaa vaikka vaatekaapin ovien sisäpuolelle.

Helpful host and can use washing machine. Bed hard, tiny shower space and neighbour's barking dog. Kitchenette is small and no toaster, wasn't easy to cook/prepare own meals. Upstairs units dark with only one small window.

On peut se rendre à pied dans le centre de San Quirico en quelques minutes. Il y un petit supermarché très proche. La région est magnifique et nous y retournerons certainement encore.

• Garry Osmundsen-Little (10/5): Perfect location and facilities; we'll be using it again. - We hired two apartments for our 10 day stay, one for us, and one for our twin teenaged daughters and the facilities were perfect. The SARNA residence was absolutely perfect location for exploring San Quirico d'Orcia and the surrounding areas, being just 4 minute easy walk onto the centre of the village. The discreet staff were more than happy to help with local knowledge of places to visit and things to-do as well as helping to organise electric mountain bikes (which were perfect for the hilly terrain) with price reductions provided for residents. Its an easy 2.5 hours drive from Pisa airport and there's plenty of parking on arrival (and a nearby petrol station). The pool was a welcome escape from the summer heat and its surrounding olive grove a perfect location for post exploration recovery with a book and bottle of wine. All things considered it is the perfect location for exploring authentic Tuscany. Its restaurants and trattorias (and gelato shops) provide authentic Tuscan food at reasonable prices. In summary, SARNA provided an ideal base to explore and tour from whether your driving or cycling and I wouldn't hesitate from using it again. The shower cubicles could do with being a little larger, although this is a period building.

Os funcionários são ótimos, é fácil de estacionar, fica próximo de mercado e da zona central que possui restaurantes e pontos de visitação. A iluminação do quarto poderia ser melhor. Durante o dia basta abrir a janela, mas de noite, a luz não é forte o bastante.

• Florian (8/5): - Wir haben zwei Wochen in der Toskana verbracht. Eine davon in der Sarna Residence. Die Umgebung ist magisch und möchten die südliche Toskana in jedem Fall dem Chianti Classico vorziehen. Die Sarna Unterkunft ist typisch toskanisch ohne viel Schnörkel gehalten. Wir hatten eine Einzimmerwohnung und hätten uns mehr Sonnenlicht gewünscht. Die Räume wirkten doch sehr dunkel. Bei einem Gebäude aus dem 18. Jhd aber nicht wirklich umsetzbar. Unsere Empfehlung hier doch mit mehr Lichtakzenten zu arbeiten. Die Außenanlage nebst Pool ist sehr liebevoll gestaltet. Definitiv ein Platz zum Wohlfühlen und zum entspannen. Man merkt direkt, dass den Inhabern am Herzen liegt, dass sich die Gäste wohl fühlen. So wurden wir freundlich empfangen und stets gefragt, ob alles in Ordnung ist. Wir hatten eine tolle Woche und sagen Danke:-)

• Tarja (9/5): Superb - San Quirico d´Orcia is situated in the heart of Tuscany in the middle on the most beautiful sceneries. It is a very practical access point by car to many well-known Tuscan attractions. The town itself has a pretty old town and has several good restaurants and a grocery store within a walking distance from the Sarna Residence. The room was large and the garden beautiful. The kitchenette was stylish but unpractical. The cutlery was stored under the table cover and the dishes high up. The amount of table space was very limited.

We loved the fireplace, we made delicious Florentine steaks and other bbq. Grocery store is nearby. The host was very kind and responsive.

Initially we thought we had booked a ground floor room with outside space, but because we hadn't requested it specifically when booking we had one of the first floor apartments which we grew to love and appreciated the privacy and the mosquito netted windows. • Adriana (9/5): Nice stay near Val d'Orcia - We liked the stay in this cozy Italian villa. The bed was really comfortable and overall the room was pretty nice. Spacious, with nice view from the window. It's a good place to start your escapade into the Val d'Orcia which is what we did. The owner, Gaia, was also very friendly and helpful, providing us additional information to make our travel better. I'd improve the lights in the room. The kitchen area is too dark, as well as the rest of the room because it's quite spacious. Another thing is that for this price, I expected some things like coffee/tea/biscuits to be included in the stay. Or at least a coffee machine in the hallway. Because this is a small town, you don't have a lot of options where to grab a quick coffee in the morning.

• Ryan (10/5): Great property and rooms in a beautiful area, perfect as a home base or if you're just passing thru - This is a nice property on the edge of San Quirico D'Orcia in a residential area. The town center is a 10-15 minute walk. The property itself is well maintained; the pool is nice. There is a good view of the Val D'Orcia from the property but not from my room (didn't have a window facing that way). The room itself was quite large and had a fridge, microwave, kettle, and dishes/utensils. I think we were the only people there without a car. San Quirco D'Orcia is hard to get to without a car, and it seemed very much a place people who are driving through Tuscany stay at for a couple nights. It makes a good home base. There's a playground. There were some young families staying there. The hotelier was very helpful and had a lot of materials on the surrounding area. The property was great. The town is beautiful, and the area is more beautiful still. It's the second time I've been there. All this to say that I was quite surprised to find some of the restaurateurs in town to be somewhat rude. Apparently you need a reservation everywhere EVEN THOUGH THE RESTAURANTS ARE NOT FULL. Otherwise they won't seat you until 7:30 despite there being empty tables. I made a reservation at one place, the hostess repeated back to me the date and time, we walk into town - and they weren't open that evening. It's odd. We had a difficult time finding dinner. Very different from my first trip there where everyone was so friendly.
• Jason (10/5): Beautiful Historic Tuscan Residence for Self Catering in San Quirico d'Orcia - The SARNA Residence is a delightful 16th/17th century renovated family run property at the edge of the city of San Quirico d'Orcia specially for self catering guests. I booked accommodation in San Quirico for my short holiday in Tuscany and this stood out in the list on Booking. SARNA is a charming Tuscan country residence modernised to a very high standard, yet, leaving the antiquated Tuscan charm in place. I had a huge room with double bed, en suite, well equipped kitchenette for cooking, with beautiful decor in the upstairs first floor apartment. Leading to this is the old Tuscan family house rooms: hall/kitchen and dining room. The original beams are in the ceiling, as are the tiles, and the floor is covered in beautiful terracotta tiling. During my stay I did not use the outside facilities but there were tables, chairs and various amenities. My host, Gaia was charming, helpful, and pointed me to locations I wanted to visit in San Quirico and around the Valle d'Orcia. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The SARNA is a 5-10 minutes walk to the historic centre of San Quirico, or 3 minutes by car. The site has off road private parking, and is surrounded by olive trees in the garden. There is a co-op literally 3 minutes walk away, and various cafes/restaurants near and a lit further as well as into the city. I typically have had a lot of good choices on Booking overt the years, and SARNA is no exception. For a visit to Valle d'Orcia there are many splendid options: hotels. B&B, agriturismo and self catering: SARNA is a highly recommended place to stay and one I am very pleased to have visited. Highly recommended and the photos on Booking really show the beauty of the place. Grazie mile SARNA! Due to tourists levels I couldn't stay a full 4 nights as only 3 nights were available at the time which says a lot about the property. Absolutely nothing to dislike about this property at all!
• Alexander (1/5): Bad - Very spacious rooms. The pool can only be used with bathing cap. This informstion is nowhere to be found on booking. The hotel is referring to a guideline for public pools, but this is accessible for hotel guests only. 10 other hotels we visited on our trip did not have this nonsense rule. As the pool was our primary reason for booking, I cannot recommend this at all. Also the nights can be rather cold to shivering as there was no climate control/heater.

Service, although limited, is very friendly and efficient. Gaia was a tremendous guide and made me feel like family, even though I was there for one night.
