Can easily walk into town, also has bikes you can take (we didn’t take advantage of this) my only gripe would be noise, you can hear your neighbors. Aside from this, the amenities were great, beds comfortable and they provided anything you need. The drinks at their bar were a little pricey even for NYC price comparison

Kim (10/5): Awesome, will definitely be back!! - Location was perfect! Walk a few feet your on the beach and walk a few the other direction and your in the downtown streets! Food, shopping, drinks all right there. The hero beach club is so cute and all the little outdoor hangout spots were so adorable. Loved the swing in front of our door:) the rooms are spacious and super cute. highly recommend staying here, we will definitely be back!!

Didn't get to use the bikes because of the weather, but everything was usually in walking distance and there's a nice lounge if you want to stay in. The door lock was slightly damaged and a chain lock was installed but not working.

Close to the beach and we could see the waves breaking from our room. Staff is so nice and helpful. Great outdoor communal area with hammocks, fire pit, corn hole and numerous places to chill. Bikes and surf board use complimentary. Definitely will stay here again.

One of the three owners John was extremely active and overlooked total operations. Since Covid they’ve been all downhill and don’t seem to be recovering. John is never here. International help since Covid stopped and is back now. New manager Alex started during Covid and totally hates his job and people. I have to wonder if John realizes Alex is totally not the right guy for this industry. Sorry John. Your guy Alex is little by little destroying what used to be great. Back in the day I would recommend this place to everyone. Those were the old days with John. This will be my last time.

Tutte le camere o almeno la maggior parte danno su un giardino molto curato Stanza molto molto semplice, colazione inclusa ma molto scarsa e per una stanza a 800 euro a notte questo è inaccettabile. Anche doverla mangiare di fronte al bar della piccola reception anziché servirla in giardino!! Staff inesistente!!

ijarolem (10/5): Our Happy Place - This was our third summer staying at Hero Beach Hotel, and as always we had the best time!! It was nice to see the familiar face of Alex the manager at check in. We loved our room which included a private deck to the outside garden. The grounds were well manicured as usual. We ended each night with a family s’mores ritual. We loved our morning ritual of the complimentary breakfast—especially the iced coffee. We wanted our mornings on the beach and our afternoons poolside. We can’t wait to be back at our happy place next year!
Brian (8/5): - The hotel is nicely done, staff are great, and it’s in a very convenient location with the beach and town both very short walks. One issue though is the parking situation; they have a very small lot for guests and once that’s full you have to try to find street parking on the side of the hotel, which can be very tough. I don’t understand why the spaces directly adjacent to the hotel are not reserved for hotel guests, it would seem like it’s part of their property or if it’s the town’s property then they should come to an arrangement with them to make it reserved for the hotel. For this kind of money you shouldn’t have to worry about taking your car somewhere and not having a place to park when you get back.
79vt (4/5): $2,500 a Night and Falling Apart - Hero Beach Club is like holding up a mirror to what's gone wrong with Montauk the last 10 years or so. This is our second time staying at Hero Beach Club (first time in 2017, their opening summer), and the property has not aged well. It's time to re-invest some money back in - and more than slapping on a coat of paint. Montauk used to be a relatively affordable trip for families, but now exists as an unapologetic money grab. HBC is Montauk in a nutshell - outrageously expensive for what it offers. THE GOOD To their credit, the room was clean on arrival. Kudos to their cleaning staff. HBC partners with fitness instructors and others to provide activities on the lawn. Beach staff were helpful. Outdoor common areas are nice, and most everyone working there was kind in their interactions with us. THE BAD The property photographs well on their website, but look at anything up close, and the veneer falls apart. HBC has sacrificed functionality for the 'gram. No proper seating options other than some heavy stools scattered about. No counter space for toiletries in the bathrooms - the sinks are like tall skinny flower pots with a 1-2" ledge. No towel racks other than those standing ladder things (unsecured to the wall). Bathrooms had no door locks, one of the bathrooms when closed blocks the bedroom door from being open. 50/50 chance on whether towels were ever available by the pool. Food marketed as being available by the pool was absurdly expensive ($10 for a slice of less-than-mid pizza, $18 for a tiny pan kid's size pizza), if available at all. Sandwiches were never in stock. THE UGLY The room is $2500 per night, and that is INFURIATING for what you get. The rooms are in dire need of serious maintenance. Mold by the patio door, shower door seals are broken and turned into spear-like edges. Barn door to separate bedroom was half off the track and was missing the lower guide so could swing wildly below. Shelves in the bathroom were improperly secured and about to pull themselves out of the wall. Bathroom grout was absolutely disgusting - many tiles were loose and "crunchy" as we walked across them - the entire subfloor needs to be re-done. Water was turned off for about an hour to the building with no notice - you simply can't do that. I get that work needs to be done, but some effort needs to be made to guests that something as critical as water is going to be off for a period of time in the middle of the day. Service - most everyone quite friendly and accommodating, but there's not much anyone can do other than apologize when things run out. 50/50 on whether pool towels were made available at all. HBC advertises a lunch menu by the pool ($18 for a simple kid's sized pizza!), but the vast majority of the items were never in stock the entire weekend. Activities - probably the shining spot here. HBC has made a few partnerships

The location couldn’t be more perfect — right on the beach with an amazing setup that makes every moment outside so relaxing and enjoyable. The rooms are gorgeous, impeccably clean, and so comfortable that we never want to leave. The peaceful, serene atmosphere is exactly what you need to unwind. Jon and the whole team always go out of their way to make us feel welcome and cared for. We absolutely love it here and can’t recommend it enough!
jcenyc (8/5): Montauk Gem with great location and beach service - Great Montauk location, away from the hustle and bustle of town - but still walking distance to everything. Proximity to beach is a plus, and beach club service (bean bags and umbrellas with limited F&B service) is great. Rooms are simple, well appointed. Only issue I had during my stay was with the wifi which was spotty in the rooms and not great for anyone looking to work remotely.

VTwelltravelled (10/5): Nicest of the beach hotels in Montauk near town - We stayed for 5 days and biked every day around Montauk, worked and enjoyed the beach. You can't beat the location which is right across from the beach next to a bird sanctuary so you don't have all the "junk" motel guests down the road at your beach which is a huge plus. Front staff were super nice as were the bar tenders -they could use a bit more selection but great to have a small bar. Rooms were clean and spacious (what is that TV doing hanging at that odd angle? would have preferred it not be there). Clean and modern and the two bedroom was awesome since there were 3 of us. Views right to the garden and beach. Nightly fire pit and smore kits were amazing and we loved beach service Those beach bean bags were so comfy and they take everything out for you. all in a all, pricey but a great stay and family vibe. I'd avoid the other motels down the "row" as they were pretty icky. Also an 8 minute walk to town. The mini spa was also great and the massage person was fantastic (spaced on her name). all in all, a wonderful stay.

Anne (8/5): Wonderful! - First appearance,we were underwhelmed, it looked aged. The Hotel and office l lacked signage. Once there we couldn't have been happier. The room was Lovely, with a modern updated theme and restoration. The back courtyard offered comfort lounging, an airstream boutique, a few events, piped in music, fire pits, corn hole set, fun play chairs for kids and adults, shaded picnic tables and a gate to the beach road. The potted plants left nothing to desire, just beautiful. The staff was Very Friendly and accommodating. 5 star except curb impression and signage. I saw some pool side food/drink service, but didn't request that or room service ourselves. Not sure if it was a special request or regularly available. 🤗🌹

Only issue was they had told us the fire pits would be working nightly and they only turn on for the weekends. We would have also enjoyed more activities throughout the week. They also memtioned a complimentary drink but we never reveived one.
OnAir33940147936 (10/5): Best weekend spent at Hero Beach Club - My fiancé and I had the best weekend at Hero Beach Club! The room and property were clean and beautiful. The staff is wonderful and offer you a free welcome drink. It is a comfortable, relaxing, and fun place to stay. My fiancé informed the staff that he was planning on proposing on the beach that this motel overlooks and they did everything and more to accommodate us and make this experience so special. Although it was a foggy and somewhat of a rainy day, Sophie went above and beyond for us by setting up a beautiful picnic for us on the beach. When we returned to our room there were roses, chocolates, champagne and a sign for us. Everything was absolutely perfect. We loved Hero Beach Club and could not recommend it enough - we will be returning!

BILMARAUS (4/5): Not a pleasant experience with an expensive 'Resort Fee' charged after we left. - Overall, The Hero Beach Club is an old motel from the 1960's. It was previously called the Oceanside Motel. We came for a one night stay in May. When we booked, the following nights were already fully booked so we just planned the single night. Interestingly, these other bookings disappeared upon our arrival and the rooms were much, much cheaper than what we had already paid ( $1,102.00 AUD). When we arrived the weather was blisteringly cold with a strong, icy wind. The Manager/Proprietor checked us in. Due to the cold weather, I asked if the USD$97.00 (approx. $160 AUD) resort fee could be waived as we were not using the pool or any other item that the fee covered. There was a discussion and he agreed not to charge it. I told my wife this when we got to the room. We went to dinner locally and went to bed. We left the following day after a tiny breakfast offering located on the premises bar. I was called by my bank about a charge from the Hero Beach Club and rang them to ask whether this and the deposit would be returned to our Mastercard. He had had a change of attitude and insisted that the Resort Fee would still have to be paid and had been charged to my card without my consent or approval. This is an important lesson to be learnt as some Resort Fees can easily be a scam that the Premises inflicts without providing a service. The pool is part of the premises and to have to pay extra is a scam.

Elizabeth (7/5): Relaxing visit during off season - This hotel is in a great location. Right on a nice beach and within walking distance to the "town" shops and restaurants. We came during the end of "off-season" so some things were still closed - like the Lighthouse. The staff was pleasant. The room was fine, but the bathroom was a little odd. The sink was out in the main room, the shower stall was in a little alcove with only a curtain separating it from main room, and the toilet "room" was off the shower area. The room was a nice size. Bed was comfortable. Had a TV but took us a call to the front desk to figure out how to use it. Some TV information in the room would be helpful. Small frig in room, but no microwave or coffeemaker, though coffee, tea, and other drinks available in office/bar area. A very light breakfast was offered - muffins, cereal, oatmeal, fruit. It was fine - nothing fancy. Very relaxing. They do have a nice yard area in back with fire pits, grill, lawn chairs, etc...

Wish we were in the area a bit longer, but we will definitely be back and would look to stay here again.
877marnis (10/5): Excellent hotel in Montauk - Perfect spot in Montauk. Love the rooms and staff. Everyone is friendly and the rooms are immaculate. Had a great time as usual and highly recommend it for your Montauk visit. There is also a backyard area with very cool art and sculptures for lounging, and a super cute pool as well. I highly recommend checking out the lighthouse, going for a bike ride, and getting into the ocean for a swim.
Q236XBlisaf (10/5): This little gem is a must see! - Hero Beach Club was wonderful! We were pleasantly surprised with all the little upgrades; premium coffee and tea and local muffins for breakfast, the AG1 and Vitamin C in the room and the courtyard lawn with hammocks, firepits and music. It was the perfect little getaway for girls' weekend. And an easy walk into town. What more could you ask for! Way to go, Hero Beach! I'll be back.
Carrie (6/5): - Cons: This motel is located on the side of a secondary highway through Montauk so it can be noisy. We stayed in a main floor unit and could also hear the room above us. The bathroom setup is weird, the toilet is separate. The shower is open to the room and so is the sink. There’s a small fridge but no coffee or microwave. The room had particles on the floors and surfaces so it was not spectacularly clean. Pros: STEPS to the massive and beautiful public beach!!! The room has a massive patio door and some seating. All rooms are overlooking the courtyard. You can’t see the ocean from the main floor, but it’s steps away! The courtyard has plenty of lounge furniture with a BBQ, fire pit and games to just chill at night with the stars and the ocean. Decent pool area and sauna/showers in the basement with included yoga and massage treatments available on site. You also have access to equipment like bicycles to get around!! Lobby has free coffee and a few free snacks in the morning. The staff were all super friendly and nice. Location: I would recommend this place if you’re on a budget and want to be on the beach. It is a great location for little shops and restaurants within walking distance. Everything seemed to close early, though. There’s a 7/11 and an IGA close by. Lots of boat tours and whale watching companies not far away! Lots of national parks, lighthouses to explore, as well.

Beautiful rooms, clean, comfy bedding, excellent service, fun beach chairs. Never too noisy at night. Highly recommend! You won’t be disappointed!

Ended with a relaxing massage which I would highly recommend! Enjoyed an evening watching the sunset on the ocean. Friendly staff. Looking forward to coming back.

The accommodations were great and we were even able to see a pod of whales and dolphins right from the back patio of our room on the second floor early in the morning. After we spotted the first one we RAN to the beach right behind the building and enjoyed whale and dolphin spotting for about an hour.

392farrahm (2/5): Horrible customer service - This review is based solely on customer service. We never actually stayed at the resort. We booked a stay but needed to cancel. Their policy is 30 days on season. We booked with only 24 days until our check in date and was done through Booking.com. When we tried to cancel, the manager Alex is not accommodating to waive the cancellation policy. We gave enough time for them to rebook the room especially knowing it is on season one very busy. Booking.com can not refund without the resort willing to waive the policy. We understand the policy but you would hope that there would be something they could do. I would’ve accepted if they had to keep a percentage. After multiple phone calls and being hung up on we are still out a significant amount of money for a stay that never happened.
Lauren_BKSF (10/5): The best mini-moon - My husband and I stayed at Hero Beach Club for our mini-moon over Labor Day Weekend. From arriving late and receiving keys smoothly after hours, to welcome coffee and Montauk site seeing tips around town the next day -- the staff was so warm + welcoming right off the bat. The location is perfect - we walked into town daily, went for hikes and loved getting to try the local bars/restaurants. Kirk Park Beach was easily accessible from Hero Beach Club, just a short walk from the hotel. We had total relaxation, with comfortable beach chairs + umbrellas -- not to mention spritzes that we ordered from the beach. We can't wait to go back in the fall!
BonVivant314 (10/5): Staff are the HERO’s. - We absolutely loved our stay at Hero Beach Club. So many things went right during our stay, and really nothing missed or went wrong. We stayed mid week, and were having such a good time we wanted to stay another day. This is an unusual request that quite frankly, the day before and during summer. I thought would be unlikely they could accommodate. They not only took the effort to move some other reservations around and accommodate our extra day, we able to stay in our original room without having to move. This brings me to the staff. They are so very accommodating, helpful, kind. Often asking how you are doing and if you need anything. This really made us feel at home.
emilybV1623QO (10/5): And then a Hero came along - This resort is so special. My best friend and I go every summer to escape the heat and relax in this beautiful place. It’s been 4 years in a row, and we won’t stay anywhere else. The Hero is the only place in Montauk that I think has beachfront access, daily activities, and great service both poolside and at the beach. The beanbag lounge chairs and umbrellas at the beach are fabulous, and I find this stretch of beach to be relatively quiet. The aesthetic is clean, modern and minimalist with pretty touches in the design. I spend my mornings on the patio, starting out at the dunes and enjoying the cool ocean breeeze. The staff is welcoming, warm, and responsive.
