Guest Reviews
- nicholaspD4834RC (10/5): Peaceful stay - We had beautiful stay in family lodge. Beautifully quiet.....except for birds tapping on windows! The pool was great with lovely views across countryside. Dogs took us on hike around lodge. The host and staff where so kind and caring.
Will happily recommend to friends and family.
- cgrobl631251 (10/5): True African farmstay; a gem! - A homely bush stay in quiet, idyllic African bush. Rustic rooms. Friendly staff, excellent home cooking, sparkling pool to unwind and friendly dogs who will act as a bush guide for a walk.
- ahahn470776 (10/5): Angela - We stayed only one night on our way to Etosha and we were the only guests there. We felt very much wellcomed and got an excellent dinner and breakfast!
We can recommend this location very much!
- lgronb769987 (10/5): We loved it! - We spent one night at Sasa Safari Camp and just wished we could have stayed longer. So peaceful and relaxing, beautiful gardens, lovely views from the pool and the surrounding hills.
- mmachi535484 (10/5): Fantastic lodge - We were a Sasa Safari Lodge at the beginning of our holiday. What a fantastic stay! We regretted that we only booked for one night and had to go further. The two bedroom house had a cosy kitchen and a little beautiful garden with a stunning view. Nice swiiming pool near the breakfast place with deck chairs , a lounge place etc. The staff was really great and made the place even more fantastic.
We think it might be a great place to have one or more hikes over there, but we did not have the time.
- I7847NFninas (10/5): A wonderful place - Sasa Safari Camp is a truly beautiful place! The stone house where we stayed was very cozy and comfortable, with two showers and a small anteroom with a kitchen. It's also beautifully integrated into the beautiful landscape. The grounds are lovingly maintained, and there are plenty of blooming plants. The food was excellent, and the service was exceptionally friendly and personal. We highly recommend Sasa Safari Camp and will definitely return next time!
- martinrL1954NN (10/5): A wonderful experience! A great location. Well worth the stay here with great service. - We booked a three night stay at this location. It is about an hour to Etosha to have an unforgettable experience. We ordered breakfast to go and it was prepared for us in a cooler to take with us as we left just after 6am to get the sunrise.
The quality of the rooms are excellent, you can bring your food for a braai or they will provide dinner for you. The grill with wood fire is ready in the evenings and to keep you warm if it gets too cold. The rooms are very comfortable with showers and fans.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and I would heartily recommend a stay at this location.
A few pointers to remember when coming here. It is about 2-4 km from the main road to the guest house. There are three gates to open and close as you go through. The plugs are for Namibia but there are some adapters on the counter when you arrive. The views are phenomenal from here and the silence very uplifting. All you hear is the wind in the palm trees and lots of birds singing.
When you come, drop your worries and rest. I am so glad we did not just spend one night here. 10 minutes from here, there are two groceries stores in Outja. You can pick up food supplies hot or cold and bring them to the camp to cook or eat.
Breakfast is a feast and Wilma and Tanya do a remarkable job as hosts.
- hhaman407966 (10/5): Very beautiful, hidden, safe and relaxing - A very beautiful property, with harmonious, uninterrupted views, a pool, a fireplace, good kitchen, and complete peace and quietness. A gust of wind rustles the palm tree by the pool as if it were raining. Wonderful. The room was new, modern, and nothing was missing. The ranch is suitable for much more than just a stopover before Etosha.
- rvanmali17 (10/5): Wonderful Staff and Great Location - The staff at Sasa were so accommodating to us when we arrived later than anticipated. If you are heading to Etosha NP through the Anderson Gate, this is a great place to stay that is just an hour away. We arrived after dark after getting delayed at the airport and the staff had dinner waiting. Our room was clean and we were able to get a great night's rest. Before leaving the next day, the owner recommended a bakery in town, Outjo Bakkery, that had so many delicious options. If you are staying inside Etosha NP, I suggest picking up food from here because the food provided in the government operated resort is not up to "resort" standards, in my opinion.
- 788severineb (10/5): Very Nice place and wonderful diner - The people there are very nice and helpful. The meals are delicious, and the place is so cool. Peaceful, Nice landscape
- Udo (8/5): - Lage ist sehr schön. Hier kommt richtiges Afrikafeeling auf.
- Musicofnote58 (8/5): A hidden gem en route to Etosha - This place is a hidden gem in the Namibian countryside. A great stopover between Windhoek airport and Etosha National Park.
The welcoming ladies and hostess Wilma gave us a lovely warm welcome.
The beds are comfortable and warm, necessary on chilly winter mornings.
The kitchen facilities are basic, and the bathroom very rustic - if you don't mind a loo without a door - but adequate.
- dominique (10/5): - Charmant hôtel tranquille avec une magnifique vue, piscine agréable, beau jardin et personnel très chaleureux et aidant. Nous avons apprécié notre moment!
- sjoube244253 (10/5): Amazing stay - Sasa Safari Camp was an amazing location and stay. The surrounding area and garden was beautiful. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. We had dinner on the first night and the T bone steaks were amazing and Tanya and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The managers were so kind and attentive. The second night we braaied our own meat and the staff gave us all the utensils and even made the fire and set the table for us. They also cleaned up afterward. It was an amazing experience and would highly recommend. We also went on a guided walk with their superb guide dog Vasti.
- Rodney (10/5): Aitsa Sasa - Friendly staff, great service.
- 867callums (10/5): A must stay location if in this part of the country - We arrived a lot later than we initially expected but the staff were still very welcoming and accommodating. We organised a tour of Etosha national park through them along with a packed lunch which was amazing (we were unable to finish it all).
We had dinner and breakfast there which were both held outside and the view from the terrace was incredible. Dinner was cooked over an open fire next to us.
The place was also pretty easy to find.
We also went for a walk up some nearby rock which was guided for us by one of the dogs who stay at the lodge...they really looked after us!
Our only regret with this location is we didn't spend longer here.
- rene998877 (10/5): Great landscape, great personal, a little bit aboriginal - The Sasa Safari Camp is somewhere in the middle of nowhere. Thus, the infrastructure is a little lacking, there is only limited electricity (hairdryer won't work) and the water for the showers is heated with a wood fire, so you have to anounce some time before, when you want to shower. The rooms have a rough charme, but are quite comfortable. The landscape is just beautiful. The dinner was very good and more than enough. The personal was fabulous, we had a very nice evening and morning with them. It was the best stay we had in our Namibia holiday!
- grizzly2016 (8/5): Very nice spot in the wilderness outside Outjo - Nice spot with all confort to rest after Etosha or before Etosha. Quiet, typical and with nice food.
- rmasci297992 (6/5): Not easy to review - As said in the title, not easy to review this hotel. Location is beautiful, building is really nice. Big big garden with tiny cat and dogs. But there some negative aspects. Dinner, breakfast, lunch are all excluded. You must pay by cash and also change is not available. power sockets are not available in room. Not easy to find but, mostly, to reach it, specially at night (too many gates to go through and to close...). Summarizing: if you will be staying for one night, it is okay, more night could be problematic
- cserfo510373 (10/5): Quiet and Peacefull - Sasa Safari Camp was very impressive. Beautiful views and a very nice green garden. The breakfast was good and the people very friendly and helpful.
- 346angek (10/5): Nice stay - Really nice place with the view on rocks
Warming place, good food and great people there
You feel like home there.
Definitely recommend it to anyone going or coming from Etosha as a stop in your itinerary
Hope you enjoy your trip in Namibia !!!
- kgieri982082 (10/5): Overnight stay after visiting Etosha - A lovely place, beautiful view over the valley. Lovely people and a great service! We can very much recommend a stay on the Sasa Farm!!
- mmulle729322 (10/5): Very nice place with a great view from the pool area - We had a great stay in Sasa Safari Camp. The view from the pool area was very nice. You can make a little walk to the mountain nearby with the owners dogs (also the sunrise from there is amazing). The dinner was great!!
- jmarit128636 (8/5): Quick stop on our way to coast - We enjoy the great location on the foot of the mountain. Welcome was professional. After settling in enjoyed a few drinks looking at the few of the distent mountains. Opted for a late afternoon hike into the adjacent one and was supprised at the hights the trail took us and the fews it offer.
Dinner was great. Served as a buffey after starter of soup and caramelized bread. Felt very upmarket an would have been romantic under the candle light and barn fire neer by.
Har a wonder full sleep and almost matching breakfast before our departure.
Note: Having carrying your luggage up the slope to the room may be the only down side of this stay.
- hfouri270090 (10/5): Visit to Sasa Safari Camp - Me and my wife had a pleasant stay at Sasa. We found the host pleasant and helpful and the facilities good. We enjoyed the well designed hiking trail in a beautiful environment. It was difficult, but very scenic.
- 253magda (10/5): Review - The service at Sasa Safari Camp was excellent, one out of a million.
We like the 2 bedroom unit very much and the scenery out of the kitchen door was beautiful.
The location was easy to find and so beautiful with the mountains at the back.
The food was do die for and the friendly dogs was a plus.
- cluger745020 (10/5): Peace on Earth - If you want to stay away from the crowds and the hectic on your trip through Namibia, this is the place to be!
Peacfull nature awaits you in an unbelievable scenery!
Feeling coming home in a land far far away from what you would call Home is just amazing!
Thx for all the good mood, incredible food and an Atmosphäre of calm- and peacefullness!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location and atmosphere. Great owners and staff. This was our second time staying here.
- Roelof (8/5): Enjoyable stay - Lovely hosts, great breakfast, service hospitality and pool/breakfast area. Room and bedding could do with an upgrade. Very good value for money
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Donsie and his family really made us feel at home, we loved our stay with them. The food was amazing, and we really hope to go back!
- Daniël (10/5): Absolute Tranquility - Lovely welcoming reception, cool and clean bedroom. Fluffy towels and a beautifully maintained swimming pool. Nice view and a nice hill climb for the adventurous. Stunning sunset view.
- R (8/5): Beautiful Lodge One-Hour Drive from Anderson Gate - This beautiful lodge managed by very dedicated staff is about 4 km away from the nearest tarred road. As the sand/gravel roads leading to the hotel have rather large holes, this place is not very suitable for sedan drivers. With a 4x4, there is no problem at all. Since this lodge is situated at a rather remote location, there were rather few guests. At the end of our stay, we were the only ones. The advantage is, that this lodge - for its comfort, its excellent management, etc. - comes at a quite low price.
- Paulette (10/5): Heaven - Friendly people, cosy bungalow, beautiful wilderness, stunning view, wonderful food .We loved it .
