- Ahmed Faisal Fakhrul Islam (1/5): Horrible for a 5 star hotel - The staff were okay. The hotel seems haunted, so many things are broken and damaged in the room. The hotel seems well understaffed. We stayed 7 nights and breakfast was same everyday. The location is really bad. It doesn't feel 5 star at all. Its spooky. Its a complete mess. I'd never visit again. I usually stay in vivanta and radisson. Wont make the mistake of choosing novotel again. The staff also seemed desperate for money. They asked us to clear our bill the second day. Vivanta and radissson we always cleared our bills on the very last day. Avoid the hotel its a mess and i feel its gonna shut down very soon. Its surviving through customers who only book meetings and lunch and dinner. The pool area seems abandoned. Imagine a 5 star hotel and they be like we do not serve drinks up there. So just avoid coz you pay the same amount and get vivanta or radisson.

The higher floor also provided a quieter environment, away from street noise, which added to the overall comfort. The staff were courteous, friendly, and always willing to assist with any requests. The washrooms were perfectly clean and well maintained, with a pleasant freshener that created a refreshing atmosphere. The lobby area looked bright, tidy and very welcoming for guest's. The banquets halls were also maintained in excellent condition.

- Hazarika (1/5): 最悪 (Worst) - 食事が良かった On 14 January 2026, a few hours after the free cancellation deadline, I realized that my intended check-out date should have been 18 January instead of 19 January. I immediately initiated a cancellation/modification request using the official procedures provided on the Booking.com platform. While the platform offered three options (direct call, online message and email), the email request function was non-functional, leaving me only with the two options (Direct call and online messaging option. I therefore, sent two formal cancellation/modification requests through the Booking.com system, and Attempted to contact Novotel Guwahati’s reservation desk multiple times by phone between 14 and 15 January, with no one picking up the phone. Upon my arrival at the hotel on 15 January at approximately 19:30, I personally explained the situation at the reception (Which is equivalent to the direct call option as described above). The hotel manager, Mr. Aryan Grewal, informed me that since the booking was made through Booking.com, the hotel could not take any action, but assured me that he would “look into the matter and get back to me.” Despite staying at the hotel for three nights, no response or clarification was provided during my stay. On 18 January at around 11:30 AM, when I approached the reception to check out, Mr. Grewal abruptly informed me that I would be charged for the night of 18 January, despite not staying on that day, stating again that “nothing can be done.” Left with no alternative and no prior notice, I was compelled to pay for a night I did not use and then check out. No professionalism

Piyanka at the front desk is exceptional and Payal, Monkoosh (Apologies if I am spelling the name wrongly) in the restaurant at the first floor exceeded our expectations always. Thank you Guys for the efforts you made to make our stay comfortable. Room was dirty and things like locker etc did not work well. But all credit goes to the Team at the front desk for sorting everything out as we mentioned these things to them. We were upgraded immediately and things were sorted on top priority and have no complains.

Purtroppo le camere non rispecchiano il prezzo pagato. Sia nella camera fumatori che in quella non fumatori era presente un forte odore di chiuso e umidità. Nonostante il tentativo di profumare l’ambiente, l’odore è rimasto. Commento finale: Nel complesso, il rapporto qualità-prezzo non è soddisfacente. Con maggiore attenzione alla qualità delle camere, l’esperienza potrebbe migliorare notevolmente.

The food was also excellent We were looking for information on the city itself and it would have been helpful for a leaflet/information sheet to be available in reception

The entire hotel staff, including security, were extremely helpful and courteous. Our room was excellently designed, clean, and hygienic. Thank you, Novotel, for a memorable stay. There was a persistent foul smell near the toilet, although nothing was dirty, which was addressed immediately. It would also be nice if some cookies were provided in the room, along with the tea/coffee facilities.

A special mention to Ms. Minakshi Pandy, Room Division Manager, for her excellent and proactive support. When I raised an issue regarding delayed responses from different departments, she stepped in immediately, took personal ownership, and ensured close monitoring until everything was resolved smoothly. This level of leadership and customer focus is highly commendable. The breakfast experience was equally delightful. Ms. Mawii at the breakfast area was outstanding attentive, warm, and genuinely caring. She took care of every request with a smile and ensured the taste buds of guests were well looked after. Her service truly elevated the dining experience. Overall, a comfortable stay with professional service and a strong focus on guest satisfaction. I would definitely recommend Novotel GS Road, Guwahati, and look forward to staying here again.
