Guest Reviews
- Joe (10/5): - Ease of arriving and departing
- Joe (10/5): - Really beautiful facility.
Many common areas ( rooftop was amazing!!!! Including a perfect view of National’s stadium!)
Staff were very helpful and accommodating.
Many dining choices close by.
- Kelly (6/5): - The condo is spacious and in a good location. Walking distance to a Safeway store. However, there is no supplies at the unit when we arrived. We were sent to another unit to get supplies by ourselves. Later on, they got renters to the other unit. We were not able to get more supplies. We ended up living without papers. Also, one of our members dropped her necklace to the crack of the headboard drawer. We asked multiple times but didn't get any help.
- sharon (8/5): - Cystral was great. She spent an hour fixing our TV. The only issue we really had. Apartment is very roomy.
- Bill (10/5): - Great place to stay. It was neat and clean, well stocked with supplies, had a beautiful view of the capitol dome.
The big attraction for us was how close it was to Waterfront Metro with an adjacent Safeway grocery store. Also, it fit our need to have 2 bedrooms.
The Pelican Residences staff was always available by phone, and they provided timely instructions for entering the building, checkout procedures, etc. They were very genuine in wanting to ensure you had everything you needed for your stay.
- Richard (10/5): - Apartment was immaculate, nice location, lovely views, secure. Very easy to get to tourist attractions. Plenty of places to eat nearby or eat in - as the kitchen was terrific.
Thanks we will return.
- Lisa (8/5): - The property was very spacious. It was decorated very sparsely. I would have preferred someplace a bit warmer in decor. I am chemically sensitive and had to hide the dish and laundry detergent in the back of laundry room. Should maybe use non scented and clear and free products.
Loved the building and the apt was walkable although a mile or so from main attractions.
The kitchen had all that we needed.
- Jakob (10/5): - We had a great stay here with our family of 6. Our high rise apt. offered beautiful, open views to the East and South. If you squint a little you could even catch a Nationals game on the jumbotron. Apartment was clean.
Kitchen was well stocked with cookware and utensils. We used the kitchen for cooking several times including the dishwasher. Bedding and linens all in good shape with extra available. The pictures shown are of various different apartments and each is unique in it's furnishings. Our apt. had one King bedroom, one queen bedroom, and two futons in the living area. Our dining table had 4 chairs.
Amenities - My wife and daughter used the fitness center each morning - all great. We never did use the pool just for sale of being too busy.
Area - There is a Safeway within a short walking distance that has everything we needed.
We're avid walkers so we walked to the International Spy Museum and National Mall and back. The wharf is a short walk for dining.
There were a few sketchy characters in the surrounding area but we never felt unsafe. The building has security. And people in and around the building were friendly.
Parking - We parked our rental vehicle in the onsite underground parking for a reasonable additional daily fee. This gave some peace of mind as parking in DC is a challenge. We kept the car empty and had no security problems.
We had a wonderful stay. Far better than a hotel room. Would definitely stay again.
- Stephanie (10/5): - We absolutely loved this property! The front staff were super nice. It had a swimming pool and outdoor seating/grilling areas. This place is an absolute must for people staying in DC!
- Hanna (10/5): - Excellent place for a family visit to Washington DC. Modern and clean apartment and building with nice common facilities. Walking distance to the wharf with a lot of nice restaurants, subway station and Safeway just across the street.
2 adults and 3 kids <10y slept perfectly in the two bedrooms. Only downside that there’s only 4 chairs in the kitchen.
- Andrea (10/5): Family trip to D.C. - The stay was great for the price. We had plenty of room to feel at home rather than cramped in a hotel room. Will stay again.
- HEN (10/5): - Everything looks new and clean, safe and spacious underground parking. Very close to DC wharf, with shopping on the boardwalk and delicious seafood restaurants at the water. Love it!
- Charles (10/5): Great stay - Close to a grocery store, Metro stop and Nationals Park.
Clean and comfortable with lots of extra amenities on the property.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The bilding was excellent but the apartment was not clean enaugh.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - LEED standard matches our environmental goals, electronically wired throughout but some aspects not intuitive requiring multiple contacts with the on site staff person
Despite postings that the apartment was “home “ for the owner, obviously NOT home by cookie cutter Utilitarian furnishings & Inexpensive night stands, lighting was adequate but not well placed, glaring fluorescent kitchen lights seemed to be the main source of light but fewer light sources in bedrooms
- Jorge (10/5): Relaxing, comfortable stay - I was pleasantly surprised how clean, bright and accommodating the apartment really was. The staff at the building were friendly and the location was convenient to the Metro and grocery store.
- Cheryl (8/5): Will return - Good location , clean, safe , fully equipped
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean, modern and safe. Has appliances for meals in the room. Beds are very comfortable
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The building was quite new and had great amenities such as a pool and billiards table.
The unit was well set up and had everything we needed aside from the sofa bed that was a bit small for 2 adults. The management did however provide an air mattress to remedy the situation.
Good location fairly close to the Capitol. We would stay here again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Many people suggest they have "furnished apartments" but they usually lack something important. This one was truly wonderfully furnished in every regard; wonderfully situated; and great in all respects!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Apartment was nice, fulfilled our needs and the location was perfect for us. Couch wasn't particularly comfortable, but it was exactly as pictured, so wasn't a complete surprise. The initial instructions on checking in were ok, however there was no room to park right in front of the building so we parked next to the building (in the adjacent apartment building's lot) just during check in until we could get the key fobs for the parking garage- got reprimanded for that by someone in that complex. Also, the instructions for entering the parking garage were incorrect as you do not enter from M street- the entry is from the side street (Delaware, I think). Once we had time to read ALL the instructions for entering and exiting the building the use of the key fobs/key cards made more sense. Checking out was a little confusing because one set of instructions said to leave the keys in the apartment and one set of instructions said to leave them at the front desk.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location was great walk to metro, Nationals park, even walking distance to the National Mall. Apartment had high end appliances and fixtures, huge king bed, the living room bed is more like a futon. The pool area is very nice and spacious for the area. The view is of a lower income apartment building & the person before us had logged out of Netflix and this is the only T.V. they have, was taken care of with a phone call. The email said keys would be in apartment, no keys at front desk, also leave keys at desk. Overall it's a good place to stay for D.C. the price, location and you get to park in the garage, you'll be hard pressed to find a better value
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This place was a very clean, friendly apartment. All the neighbors seem to have dogs, a lot of great amenities are close by and in walking distance. It was perfect for a quick get away with my dog.
Also, if you own an EV, there are some chargers in the parking garage!
- Clody (4/5): Beware - I booked this because it had a living room with a couch. I really needed a comfortable living area for my husband who suffers extreme back pain. The couch turned out to be a very hard, very uncomfortable very cheap futon. I do not suffer back problems, however I could not sit on it without using all the pillows from the bedroom.
Second problem was construction noise which could be heard through the air vents which made daytime resting impossible for my poor husband.
Third problem was the air conditioning system which must have been on some sort of timer. The temperature would become uncomfortable in the middle of the night. Unfortunately there were no instructions left to remedy this issue
This was an extraordinarily expensive rental and I was told they would get in touch to possibly reduce my costs. That has never happened. We paid full price for an extremely uncomfortable rental. Never again!
- Salmah (8/5): Great time in D.C - You can see the Capital from apartment window! Very close to restaurants n BigBus tour pickup spot (more restaurants here too, by wharf), Safeway supermkt, metro.
Crystal was very nice n understanding!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The apartment was better than I expected. I was skeptic when I booked it but after arriving I was very pleased.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean, professional, safe area, BEAUTIFUL VIEW! It was perfect for our business stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good location, good security, friendly attendants, attractive lobby
The apartment was not well cleaned after the prior guest (food left in the refrigerator, for example), only Netflix on the television, unable to pull out the sofa bed
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The space itself was clean and comfortable and met our needs. However, it is deceiving when booking because the properties shown on the site is not necessarily where you end up. You can be placed in any of their buildings and you don't know exactly which one until you book. Also, the cleaning fee is rather high considering that much time wasn't spent in the apt and it was left rather clean. Finally, the location was okay due to projects being across the street, but there was a precinct within a block. That made it safe. No loud activity at night. Building was very quiet and it didn't seem like there were many people staying there at the time. Very close to downtown DC, National Harbor, and Georgetown. I would stay again, but probably during the summer when pool is open and maybe more people are staying as well.
- Doug (10/5): - Everything was perfect especially the wonderful woman at the front desk.
- Karen (10/5): Wonderful stay in DC - The apartment is well located...walkable to Capital and lots of areas. The apartment itself is terrific. Lots of amenities: rooftop pool, rooftop lounging and sitting area, rooftop grilling (several grills available), washer/dryer, full kitchen wth every pot, pan and utensil available. Two good sized bedrooms and two bathrooms!!! TV in master bedroom and living room. Only bad thing was that one couch was broken. And it is NOT a hotel... no service at all, no daily room clean or change of towels. You have to wash your own. Also, the price quoted by hotels.com was not the price we were charged...they added a cleaning fee and an administrative fee which added to the bill. But even with that the price was good for what you get.
- Redman (10/5): - The staff was so friendly!
The location was perfect!
Convenient to everything!
The Manager is Beautiful!
Best trip i have taken!
- Kris (8/5): Great location, but too hip for tables or chairs - The location was amazing- right across from Union Station- you walk through the kaiser permanente building to the Metro/Train station, or simply go straight down 2nd to the Capitol building/National Mall. There are bicycle rentals right outside if you want to ride for an afternoon. The address isn't listed so it was hard to tell a scooter rental place where to drop off a wheelchair- took a while to get the answer, but it is the Station House building at 701 2nd St NW. The receptionist on duty when we checked in didn't have a clue- sent us, with all of our luggage and our 89 year old father to the OTHER side of the building to the elevator when there was an elevator right behind her that stopped right down the hall from our room. It about wiped him out!
the bedding was old- didn't really feel clean, but I think it was just that it was washed too many times to still look good.
The rooms were ok, but note that there are NO tables or anything to put your suitcases on in the rooms- NOTHING! which means that our 89 year old father needed to bend down to the ground so we moved two kitchen chairs into the room and made a makeshift table. We couldn't do that for our room or there wouldn't be any chairs left in the kitchen.
There are no hooks and only one small towel bar in the bathrooms- so good luck with your towels. there is a washer and dryer so you can wash them. There is also a grocery store nearby and other stores like trader joes within walking.
- Cameron (10/5): Wonderful apartment - We loved this apartment, but more than that, the amenities of the building itself (gym, games, television, work space, etc. in the various communal spaces) was amazing! Wish we lived here.
- Julius (4/5): - The sofa sleeper is not very functional as a sleeper. It is lumpy. It is also very uncomfortable as a sofa. It would be nice to have a tv in the master bedroom. It would also be nice to have a Keurig.
- Ozzie (8/5): Great location superb facilities - This is a great location near the mall, with the community available red bikes right outside and groceries and coffee shop really close by. We chose for the location and facilities..gym was great, communal areas really nice. Only slightly disappointing aspects were the room was not easy to ventilate so a little stale after occupying for a while...spotless when we moved in though. And the rather vehement instructions not to bother the concierge were a little off putting. But would definitely stay there again. Be aware that our apartment did directly overlook H street at street level but it was no problem, apartments are well sound proofed.
- Rob (10/5): Nice location, nice building and very clean space. - Apartment is spacious and very clean. Comfortable accommodates 5. Very nice building. Add in cloth and dish soap so don’t have to wash pans in sink!
- Diane (10/5): - We loved the location and apartment for our stay of three adults. Unit was clean and comfortable.
- Linda (6/5): Beware the extra fees - There is a 15% "Admin Fee" that is not included in the quoted Expedia price, which is significant, in my opinion. This is a furnished apartment unit in a building of corporate apartments, and the building is not affiliated with the hotel at all - we asked the front desk person if there was a place to store our bags until check-in and they basically blew us off. So beware there are some amenities that come with a normal hotel that this place doesn't have, like concierge services. The building is very nice and close to Union Station and the National Mall. Our room was ok but the floors were dirty, I walked around the room barefoot and the bottoms of my feet were covered in dirt, dust & hair - gross. Wish they had mopped before we arrived. The staff for the hotel were friendly on the phone. Overall I probably wouldn't stay here again.
- Karen (10/5): - We would definitely stay again!
- HERMENEGILDO (10/5): Percepção - O apartamento é excelente, super completo. O atendimento na recepção é muito indiferente ao hóspede, sem muitas explicações ou cortesia.
- Tony & Lisa (10/5): Awesome place to stay! - I would only have 1 complaint/suggestion. I would have loved to have an additional chair to sit in the living area, That's it. Everything else about it was perfection. I would look to stay here every time I travel to DC. This place is so close to Union Station and the Capital. Easy to get around just blocks from all the Museum attractions. Parking garage is adjoined to apartment and very affordable for our stay. Once parked we never used our vehicle all week, we ubered everywhere.
- Arlene (10/5): Nice hotel near train station - We enjoyed our stay at the fully furnished apartment. It was close to the train station and restaurants and grocery stores. The pool was great after a long day walking around D.C. The staff at the front desk were very kind and helpful. Would definitely stay here again if traveling to Washington D. C.
- Robb (10/5): DC Cap Hill/Noma Apartment - Great location and unit. The process for renting the unit was effortless. The stay was good. There wasn't a washer/dryer. If there was, I didn't find it.
- Philip (10/5): Great Stay - Excellent accommodations. Clean, comfortable and convenient. Located across the street from Union Station.
- Cindy (10/5): Beautiful and convenient accommodations! - This hotel is actually more like an upscale apartment building. It's conveniently located within walking distance of union station as well as a great supermarket. The unit itself was lovely with everything we needed to cook our 5 year old son's favorite meals. My only complaint was in regards to parking. My confirmation stated it would be $25 per STAY whereas we were actually charged $15 per 24 hours. It wasn't a big deal but it wasn't something we could resolve with Expedia so travelers should just be aware of that/ Also, if you take your car out of the parking garage, your 24 hour clock restarts. Otherwise it was a great find and we'd definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Convenient location near the Union Train Station but pricy
- Verified traveler (10/5): Fully furnished apartment close to union station - We enjoyed staying at this location. Looking for places to stay in DC, this option caught our attention as it was fully furnished for the similar cost to a typical hotel stay. Staying at this location instead of a hotel was much more convenient, as well as less stressful. We were traveling with a child, and being able to cook when we needed to (instead of always eating out) as well as clean-up (dish washer / washing machine) was very nice.
There were a number of restaurants close by, as well as a grocery store on the next block. In addition, the entrance to Union Station was a 5 minute walk away, so transportation was easy. There was parking on-site for our car, which we opted for as we did not want to drive through DC and pay for parking elsewhere as well. (Note that parking was a separate charge and was not included in the stay).
If I end up visiting DC again in the future I would stay here again.
- Daniel (10/5): Great Apartment and No Car Needed! - This aprtment was modern and comfortable for four of us. Nice king bed in bedroom and queen pullout sofa bed in living room. Great game area on ground floor for the kids. All the amenities of a homey apartment. Needs a floor length mirror for dressing. You'll have to bring your own clothes HE washer detergent. Parking in the building was a challenge due to its operating hours. We arrived after 7pm when the garage doors close. Ended up parking across the street at the same price of $15 usd per day. Having the Capital bicycle rental across the street was great for cycling around the Mall. $2 per half hour rental per bike will get you to the other end of the mall at the Lincoln Memorial where you can return your bike. The capital hill portion of the ride was hard on the legs though! Literally a big hill. For Metro, just a 10 minute walk to union station to catch the subway anywhere. Bring an umbrella if there are any clouds in the forecast, there is none to borrow and the slightest rain lasts for forever! The Giant grocery store next store was perfect. Few restaurants in the area. Go to union station food area for some good choices. Don't expect too much shopping in the area. A government area. I will definitely come back to this apartment!
