- Agnès (1/5): L'HÔTEL N'A PAS DE PARKING - Emplacement L'établissement n'a pas de parking alors qu'il ressort lorsqu'on sélectionne le critère parking. Cela est trompeur et mensonger ! Il faut aller dans un parking payant à plusieurs centaines de mètres de l'hôtel. CET ÉTABLISSEMENT NE DOIT PLUS APPARAÎTRE QUAND ON SÉLECTIONNE UN HÔTEL AVEC PARKING À GUANAJUATO. A part ça c'est correct.

- Fernando (1/5): - El peor servicio, tomamos 3 habitaciones y de las cuales se se fueron de imprevisto 2 un día antes, sus llaves la dejé en mi habitación (aún con todas mis cosas), ya que no pudieron revisar bien sus pertenencias, cuando regrese de acompañarlos me habían retirado las llaves de las 2 habitaciones, avían sacado unas de las cosas que dejamos dentro y las habitaciones ya las tenían listas para otros huéspedes.

- Dhyana (10/5): Exceptional - The place is very clean and everybody is very kind. The location is the best in the heart of the city. There is NO PARKING!!! There are public 24 hours parking places for about 1.5 dollars per hour, in about 200 meters close. However, it is not comfortable at all to walk this distance with all the luggage and sometimes they have no room for more cars. This is the best place if you want to visit the city and you DO NOT TRAVEL with your car, but not the best if you travel with car and a lot of luggage.

Plenty hot water, but shower was pretty small and they only gave one hand towel and one washcloth. But lots of bath towels. We also stayed at one of their properties next door to this one which was also great and had a large shower. Near lots of restaurants and shops in Centro.

- Francesca (3/5): Not worth it - - I came across 2 cockroaches in my room which made me feel very uncomfortable for the entire stay. The floor and sheets also didn’t seem clean. The entire set up with no reception made things awkward - you only communicate with the hotel through WhatsApp which is confusing. Considering how much I paid for this room, it really wasn’t worth it.

- Lora (8/5): - I arrived after the reception desk was closed. The directions I received via What's App on how to access the key to my room were very clear, including a video. At 7:30 pm, when I arrived, there was singing and music from the street outside my window. There was hot water in the morning for tea. No refrigerator in the room, but I could put milk outside on the window ledge at night. There aren't a ton of amenities, but the place has charm. My room had only one lock, operated by an old-fashioned and quirky key (you wouldn't want to be stuck in the room in case of fire), but I enjoyed my stay and would go back, hoping I got a room with a window.

- Robert (9/5): No Frills, Comfy, Clean, Central & Good Value - El Viejo Zaguan is located only steps away from Diego Rivera’s house & other art museums. There is an adjoining cafe, which I did not use, but which seemed very nice. The room had two double beds, an entire suite bathroom & shower (with plenty of hot water), a safe for valuables, and a T.V. A friendly member of staff whatsapped check in instructions prior to my arrival & was there to meet me to show me the instructions with the keys. There was complimentary filter coffee & biscuits the following morning. Nothing that I can think of.

If you are arriving after business hours, check in with them ahead of time. What's app is the most reliable way to do this as telephone connections are sometimes not reliable.
- Ruth (8/5): Very small cozy hotel, within walking distance of major attractions. - The staff are very friendly, it’s location is really good 10 minute walk to Teatro Juárez. It’s very clean, the beds are very comfortable. Everything was really good.
- Karen (10/5): Buen hotel - Bien en general de nada sirve que la app nos dé la opción de pagar en el establecimiento ya que no es así, te cargan a la tarjeta que dejas en garantía en mi caso el cargo no pasó y me escribieron para decirme que quedaría sujeta a disponibilidad además que a la hora de mi llegada no habría nadie en recepción por lo que tenía que pagar antes. Al final les mandé otra tarjeta para que me hicieran el cargo y quedara confirmada mi estancia pero fue muy incómodo porque íbamos en carretera. El hotel en general está bien, buena atención de tener café/té y galletas disponibles Buena ubicación Revisar la limpieza ya que encontramos 2 cucarachas pequeñas por lo que debe de haber algún nido fue en la hab 5 Hacen un grupo de whatsapp de guest service que es muy bueno ya que te ayudan con dudas y te dan información de la ciudad

Aparte la habitación avía plaga de cucarachas y fuga de agua en el wc. Lo único bueno del hotel que está céntrico y que todo se puede ir caminando y regresar caminando al hotel.

One suggestion would be to add a bath mat in the bathroom as I slipped on water on the floor and had a fall. It is in the centre of town so there is some noise but overall we loved it. Will come back to this wonderful hidden gem.

- Verified traveler (8/5): - This is a very charming property, just 5 rooms or so, a very special atmosphere. It's well kept, and the rooms have nice private bathrooms. Fernando, the proprietor, is friendly and interested in arts and literature, and runs a lovely bookshop-cafe in the front room and courtyard. It's a superb location -- in central Guanajuato but on a quiet street. Just a couple of shortcomings. Because the rooms' windows open onto the Zaguan (the covered courtyard-patio-cafe) rather than to the outside, you are likely to keep the curtains pulled closed. Though there are lots of restaurants nearby, there is no coffee available onsite until the cafe opens at around 10:30 a.m. Our room also lacked a chair and reading light.

Super quiet at night and management is friendly and helpful. location is perfect, close to everything but away from noise. There is no parking but a public parking is close by and Guanajuato is NOT a drivable town by any means. Walking is best and rarely you will need a car.

- Viridiana (8/5): Not your typical hotel but still loved it ... - Love this place. The room was clean and spacious. Our host was awesome. He was very accomodating. He offered transportation arrangements and was up punctual before we had to depart despite the fact that we had to checkout at 5 AM. Just an FYI, if you need to communicate with him and the phones are not working, email him directly. He is very responsive and within minutes he will reply and address your concerns. The place is located very conveniently not to far from town center, approx. 5 min walking distance. In addition, it is about 2 minutes away from other beautiful small plazas where you can find nice coffee shops, bars and many little restaurants. Over all we had a great time in Gto and we are definitely coming back.
- Marcia (10/5): classy place with nice classical music playing - perfect location for walking around this beautiful city. comfortable room and nice owners. ( shower head needs a bit of work and the lock while cool was difficult to open) otherwise a really nice stay.

- Martine (10/5): Great hotel/location&nice staff - room was stuffy - The owners of this hotel were very nice and it's in a fantastic location in centro GTO - just up the street from Museo de Casa de Diego Rivera, and there are good restaurants in same block. The only downside was room did not have a window and room was stuffy at night. They did have a fan and it helped but I would have preferred a room with a window that I could crack to get more/cooler air when I slept. So if you want a room with a view or if you get hot when you sleep be sure to clarify which room they are giving you before you book.
- Tomas (10/5): Amazing stay! - We stayed there during eater week. Not only was the place cozy and quiet despite the city being crowded, but Fernando and Ana are the best hosts one can ask for. The location is by far the best. Everything is a short walk away. This is the perfect place to stay at for single couples looking for a quick getaway. The coffee at the cafe in the lobby was amazing.
- Alice (10/5): quiet street close to museums - Nice facility with personal attention, quiet location, in historic center close to all tourist sites and museums. Public parking close by. Many small eateries in adjacent streets.
- Sharon (6/5): Nice but noisy - Loved the location and owners . would have given this tiny jewel all 5 but it's important to understand this issue...I'm not grumpy or very sensitive to noise. It's too bad they aren't able to control this: Unfortunately they have a building full of partying students next door. Very loud til at least midnight, maybe later. Music and screaming . ( 2 nights, thurs, fri) No festival in city. 2nd night I had to leave for airport at 4 AM and didn't get much value out of that short night.
