- SUSANA (9/5): Una cabaña con chimenea y un entorno precioso - Las cabañas son muy bonitas y cuentan con chimenea. El personal es muy amable. Los jardines son preciosos y están muy bien cuidados. Se puede pasear por algunos senderos. La chimenea cuesta mucho de encender y de mantener la llama encendida, hace algo de frío por la noche en la habitación. El colchón es algo duro.

- James (10/5): Lovely accommodation in a beautiful location - It was a beautiful little house up near Poas volcano. It is at altitude, so a lot cooler than the city. We had a log fire in the house and they had a store logs to burn. It is popular at weekends, when people from San Jose come up to escape the heat. It is a lovely setting and we could park next to our house. It was only an hour from San Jose, so ideal for the last night of our holiday. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and both were really good. Our host was really friendly and I would certainly recommend. I could not fault any part, it was as good as we hoped it would be.

- Rob (10/5): A lovely off the beaten track place to stay, well located for the unmissable La Paz waterfalls. Gorgeous food too! - Excellent food - we had several meals here and everything was outstanding. Great service and very helpful staff. Apartments were lovely as were the gardens and mountain views. There are three trails you can walk from Villa Calas - we did them all and all were lovely. Well located for visiting Poas Volcano and La Paz waterfalls which was the highlight of our stay. The only thing I would mention is the noise from the road at night- lots of big lorries and motorcycles at all hours. Also the location is quite isolated. If you have a car this is no problem but we did not so had to rely on taxis which Villa Calas kindly arranged for us - make sure you have cash for taxis before you arrive as there is no ATM nearby. None of this spoiled our stay though.

The hotel was very cold during our stay .It was more cold than we expected due to the uncommon cold weather this time of year.The bed was warm.We wished the room.had a heater that was a bit more quiet and larger.We also wanted to enjoy the chimney in our room, but the matches and wood that the hotel provided were humid, so we couldn't light a fire.

The room," 2 floors shack" was beautiful and well maintained. the view from the terrace was extraordinary, the gardening and surroundings were amazing. The staff was very helpful, (they did with me the booking for the Poas Volcano). Breakfast and dinner at the restaurant were excellent. - Marleine (7/5): Be prepared for colder nights - Modern suite close to Volcan Poas and San Jose. The restaurant is on premise and has good food and delicious breakfast and desserts. The bed has thick bedding to keep you warm during the cold nights. The junior suite is poorly isolated and cools down quickly. The only way to heat the suite is by using the fireplace (or a small heater). The wood provided for the fireplace is humid/wet and therefore harder to use and keep on. The open concept and floor tiles make rhe downstairs area cold and uncomfortable. The windows downstairs are matted, so no view outside from there, only from the balcony upstairs.

Area is miraculeus, the whole complex unique, the team is so friendly, professional and ready to support you in any issue!!!! The offer in restaurant for breakfast and dinner is unique, as well, with all fresh ingredients, from meat, vegetables, caffee… it is a natural oasis with wonderfull people!!!!!!! All was perfect!
