James (8/5): - The room didn't have a microwave which I felt was odd and inconvenient. There was no way to reheat my leftovers. A microwave doesn't cost much and would go a long way as an added feature.
vaibhavih2025 (10/5): Best hotel in city centre with indian food for breakfast - Definitely recommend this hotel, esply for Indians. I want to write this detailed review esply for fellow Indians and Vegetarians for easy decision making. Location - 5/5 Hotel is situated in prime location. Walkable distance to multiple Bike rentals, Indian restaurants, shopping places. It's ~1.5km away from beach but it's alright. Food - 5/5 Has 4 Indian breakfast options daily . Fruits, salads , yogurt is additional. They made really good Baked potatoes, masala fried rice, raita for breakfast and trust me it's so yummy and filling. They have 4 fruit options and clear messaging on veg options. Staff - Room service is very quick, which is very unusual as per our experience in other Thailand hotels. Staff is very kind and polite. We left our luggage in their luggage room post checkout and came in to take a quick shower , they even let us use the fresh pool towels to freshen up. The receptionist Jessy is very sweet. Rooms - Very spacious. They upgraded us to Grand deluxe room. I see many many Indians staying here. Tour Booking - The in house tour Booking lady gave best rates for Bikes, better than the ones outside. Even they helped book Airport transfers - rates remain similar everywhere for this. Other tours like Hong Island and 5/7 Island tours etc can be booked directly from hotel too , I didn't see a huge price difference outside and in hotel. Hardly 50-100 Baht which is fine if you don't want the hassle to do research outside. I definitely recommend everyone stay at Ava Sea Resort. Thoroughly enjoyed it for service, location and esply Indian food options

The hotel staffs are super nice and friendly, breakfast is great for me with choices of asian and western foods For me the only minor downside is that they only give you 1 room key, and the room facing the road can get a bit noisy at times
jamatiamack (8/5): I had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Ao Nang and truly appreciated their warm hospitality. - I had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Ao Nang and truly appreciated their warm hospitality. From the moment I arrived, the check-in process was smooth and effortless, and I was pleasantly surprised that they didn’t even ask for a security deposit. The reception staff, especially the ladies, were incredibly polite and welcoming, which made a great first impression. The hotel is in an excellent location, right by the roadside, making it very easy to access transportation. They also have basement parking, which is quite convenient. One of the things I really liked about this property is that it has its own café and restaurant, so grabbing a meal was never an issue. Plus, there are plenty of other options nearby, including a 7-Eleven, a pharmacy, and various eateries, all just a short walk away. The rooms were comfortable, and I appreciated the small yet thoughtful details, such as the jet spray in the bathroom, which is especially useful for Indian travelers. The food from their kitchen was absolutely delicious. The chef clearly understands flavors well, and I regret not trying their breakfast on the first day. The lobby was another highlight for me—it had a cozy reading corner, and the pool area was well-maintained with a separate shower and toilet. There’s also a mini bar counter next to the pool, making it a great spot to relax. While my experience was fantastic overall, there were just a few minor things that could be improved. The room was supposed to have an iron and ironing board as part of the amenities, but they weren’t available. The towels provided on the first day, though visibly fresh, had a slight medicinal or balm-like scent, but when I requested a replacement, the staff quickly provided new ones. The toiletries didn’t include a toothbrush and toothpaste, which would have been a nice addition. The gym was quite limited in terms of equipment, with only a few dumbbells, the heaviest being 7kg. The only slight inconvenience I faced was during the late evening when I had difficulty communicating with one of the male receptionists. I had a simple question about whether I could use my regular shoes in the gym or go barefoot, but he couldn’t understand me, and there was no one else available to assist. Eventually, I just decided to go barefoot. Despite these small issues, my overall experience was fantastic, and I really loved their hospitality. The warmth of the staff, the delicious food, and the convenient location made my stay enjoyable. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Ao Nang.
C4900SBsiobhans (4/5): Very disappointing - This hotel is definitely not 4⭐️ standard, the rooms are very small and basic, the bathroom had a damp smell and the general cleanliness of the hotel was poor. Customer service was non existent. Very noisy day and night with loud music and noise from the road. The only positive I can offer is a great location for the younger party goers,

No bell boy was present during checkout, there were issues with checkin as well. staff was rude and did not try to help. There was a lady at reception she was not considerate of our situation and was just repeating 2 pm (even when other guest were checking in early seamlessly.)

195benth (2/5): Do not recommend (!) - Avoid at all cost, horrible experience. Our stay started with a very badly stained and dirty matress and it took us hours of explaining and pictures to get it replaced. Pictures of the hotell is very misleading as thinhs are both very old and dirty, pool area is tiny. Staff speaks absolutely no english and in general not very friendly so i suspect bad working conditions. Elevator was absolutely as slow as can be and often people presses the button but walked instead making it Even slower stopping on every floor. Dont be fooled, this is 2 star hotell not 4, and its robbery to stay here Even for Thailand and our group is well versed in travelling at different conditions. And dont book trips from the tourist rep in the lobby, big markup from other in the area. But speaks ok English. Only good thing here is the koi pond at the entrence.. Do not recommend. (!) Toilets/showers: Very dated, shower area leaks into the rest of the bathroom. And a often a strong smell of sewer from drains, so bad it woke us up. Tried speaking to Staff about this but just nods and gibberish, Even trying with google translate app. Pool area: Is TINY and very cold water, we had multiple rooms in our group including the most expensive rooms were u can walk into the pool but the area had no sun and was overgrown with bushes from property next door which is a sewage drain area. Also, the way the hotell pool area is designede it works as a wind tunnel and it has no wind brakes as other hotells in the area. Food/drinks: Cocktails was ok, but had to point to map and very little creativity. We opted out of breakfast and its very expensive and mostly thai dishes served for breakfast at 450 bath per person per day so extremely expensive but i cant speak for quality there.
JollydeeDundee (4/5): Bad hotel wouldn’t recommend - I would say the staff are lead by management, who obviously do not trust their guests one bit. Had to pay an extra 400 baht as a deposit for a second room key. Room wasn’t ready on arrival for many people, no where to store luggage as it sits beside reception. Pool has 20 pvc sun loungers, in 33 degree heat! Come on, really. Shower cold, water out tap cold, smells like a sewer in the morning. Bed rock hard…. Not impressed one bit, we left 2 days early to return to Bangkok!!! Would recommend sea seeker or blueshotel next door! Pool towel oh you actually need two so you don’t burn your ass!

Our room was large and clean and the balcony had a view over the main road which we liked as there was plenty going on. I liked the small on-site gym and the pool.looked quite nice although I didn't use it. My one complaint was that each morning at breakfast the staff would watch people putting food into their bags (a lot of people did this) yet when I wanted to take my juice outside I was questioned as to what I thought I was doing! The breakfast was good with plenty of choice and the coffee was nice too. I would return

katiefT5244KN (2/5): AVIOID Ava Sea Resort at all cost !!!!! - This hotel is just money mad. First of all they tried charging me 2,900 baht which is around £69 for a tiny bit of cake icing on the bed sheet which had melted because the room was so hot. They hadn’t even tried to actually wash the bed sheet but instead splashed a dribble of water on the icing mark in question and said it wouldn’t come out. Second of all after the WORST stay ever due to the beds being rock hard it felt like sleeping on wooden plank and the shower was stone cold the whole entire time we stayed there. We asked if there was any rooms we could pay to upgrade to and one member of staff stated they would try the next morning as other rooms had comfier beds. We follow that up the next day and we were laughed at by the staff in reception stating “all the beds were the same” the room had a disgusting mouldy and damp smell coming from the bathroom and overall the service was just hideous. By far the worst “4 star” hotel I have ever stayed in. I have stayed in budget hotels nowhere near as expensive as this and it has been a much better stay. No care for the customers who are paying their wages. AVIOID!

Amenities in bathroom are majorly lacking too. Extremely out dated hotel. Would avoid if you are wanting a good nights sleep.

billyrichard6 (2/5): POOR HYGIENE - VERY POOR HYGIENE - LINEN, BATH & POOL TOWELS NEED CHANGING FOR NEE ONES. This hotel is incredibly disappointing. My main concerns: 1- Room are not very clean - bathroom certainly needs decorating, towels and linen need changing for new ones. Grey with holes doesn’t look very good. We had no hot water either … in this climat it wasn’t too much of a big problem, but for a 4 stars hotel, certainly is a big problem! Drain problem also causing foul smell. 2- Breakfast on the website starts at 6am, however, in reality they don’t open before 630am. The breakfast is very limited and the coffee is very weak. If you like strong coffee, be prepared to add couple more shots of expresso :) 3- The pool area is not very clean either, the pool is located between two small towers (so don’t expect much sunbathing). The pool water is freezing ! 4- If like me you do workout 🏋🏼‍♀️- then forget their awful gym. The ‘equipment’ is very old and not even have a pair of matching dumbbells. Heaviest is 7k ! 5- Only one door key per room. If you need another you will need to pay 200 B deposit. Again, never experienced this before. 6- On the plus side, it is located in the middle of the bars, restaurants and shops. So you won’t get bored and let’s be honest the staff are really nice. Which it very hard to complain as once can see how embarrassing it is for them to deal with the same old complaints. 7- The beach is 10 minutes walk down the street, but it is not, in my personal opinion, appropriate for swimming as two major sewages leads straight into the sea in this area. Overall, I would say this property is perfect for young people wanted to party and have fun. If like me you are a little older and want a little more quality and peace, then you will be struggling to be happy here. My main concern is the lack of cleanliness- there cannot be any excuses for dirty linen and grey/dirty/holes bath towels and no hot water.
lilyngabichtran (2/5): Bad experience with staff and room - We have a very bad experience with the check in and our room AC did not work despite the staff tried different keys. For the room we found other people hairs on the sheets and sofa, and the bathroom is dirty. The staff said that they can call room cleaning to clean our room. We asked to switch room but the staff said that there is no room available to switch even if we are willing to paid more. The staff did not even help us with our luggages. It was hard for us to lug the luggages over the steps. We asked the staff to refund the 3 remaining days, but the staff refused. We would never stay at this hotel or recommend this hotel to anyone.

Explorer02745852292 (2/5): Terrible - READ THIS BEFORE STAYING HERE Recently had stay here in Ava sea krabi. Though had a great time in Krabi which is a beautiful place but had a very bad end to the stay. The staff alleged us while we were checking out to have made their bedsheet red stained everyday. We clearly remember each time while leaving the room that the bedsheets and pillows were all clear and didn't know about all these till the time we were checking out. If the case was so, the staff shouldn't have changed the linens or should have changed it only after letting us know each time. There can't be any proof that it was ours. While checking out we called them to send someone to help us with the luggage but they denied that they don't have any staff free so we left the room on our own with all the luggages. Also we remembered that all linens were clear as everyone checks each and everything in details when leaving the hotel not to forget any things of own.....we were confident about it but they imposed huge fine on us of more than 4k baht which we denied. After that the staff there made multiple calls to the housekeeping team but as she was talking to them in the local language we couldn't understand anything. They then made us to visit our room again. We found the room already open with the housekeeping staff there. Now we could see the red stain on the bedsheet which was not earlier present. This proves all the preparations done by them. After pointing out these things they why they didn't inform us earlier they reduced the fine to 2.5k baht. If they were so sure about the fines they shouldn't have reduced it. Fine is a fine afterall. One should also know how to respect the customers which they don't have even any idea of. Though we didn't wear any red dresses till then but we checked each and every red things of ours and even trying rubbing, washing them on white linen later. Everything was clear. Ava sea should try to escalate their hospitality and services to earn money rather than focussing on these things. Our trip to Thailand were very fulfilling had this hotel didn't treat the way it did. Visited many hotels in last few years but the didn't have to experience such thing earlier. Everyone please beware of such things.

Russell (10/5): Two night stay in Ao Nang. - This was only a 2 night stay before staying with my new Thai family. Checkin was quick and efficient. The receptionist was polite and informative. The hotel was very clean together with my room. Internet was strong and consistent. The hotel has a small pool area and a small gym. Only negative thing was my room faced onto the main road. The sound of mopeds travelling under harsh acceleration woke me up a few times but this is totally outside the control of the hotel. Otherwise a very enjoyable two days.

Everyone smiley and friendly! The location was so good!!! Walkable to the beach, the night market (about 30 mins walk, really recommend going). Only bad side was SO much noise from outside (until about 1am) so I couldn’t sleep well - however my room was facing the road & I am a light sleeper anyway.

Room was very clean and quiet. Breakfast was excellent with varieties. Swimming pool was clean and large. This hotel was by far the best we stayed in this trip (Phuket, Phi Phi and Krabi). We will stay here again.
Elaina (10/5): Wonderful location! Staff is amazing and kind. - We had an extended stay here of 12 nights and really enjoyed it!! We got the pool access room and I enjoyed having that amenity. We got to know the staff, they’re very kind if you are! They strive to provide a great guest experience! Be kind and patient with them, it’s a great team! Our room was cleaned and well kept. Housekeeping did an amazing job, daily. The location is perfect. You can walk to anything, taxi service right outside. Laundry, and currency exchange next door. All tours will also pick up and drop off here for free. I enjoyed coffee and the egg bar in the mornings.

Brandon (8/5): - Room was clean. Staff were helpful. Location is great and everything is walkable. Lots of dining and shopping options. We stayed in a direct pool access room and would definitely recommend. Housekeeping would only give about a quarter roll of toilet paper at a time. The bathroom has VERY dim lighting. Overall the bathroom is definitely aged and weathered. The climate control really only had two options for temp. Any setting at 20 Celsius (68 degrees F) or higher resulted in a stuffy and hot room around 78 degrees F. If we moved the thermostat dial just one degree to 19 Celsius, the room turned into a freezer. My guess is the room temp was then around 62-64 degrees F. I run hot, so not a problem for me personally. Just a warning for those that like moderate or warmer temps. There wasn’t such a setting after fiddling with it for 5 days. We wouldn’t avoid this place if we came again, but would probably consider other properties with pool access rooms first.

There were stains on the sofa and mattress was uncomfortable. We felt that it needed to be turned or something as our backs hurt They did not provide new glasses in the bathroom We had arranged for a breakfast box as we were leaving early for an excursion, and they forgot to prepare it. They did allow us to eat earlier Than opening time but that was less than optimal as not all the food was out and we Had less than 10 minutes to chow down before pick up. Period of stay 17-22 Aug approx $80 AUD/night Hotel has 2 buildings with a pool in the middle. Room 4306 - beach facing , very quite. Room 4503 facing opposing hotel blusotel. Rooms are spacious (deluxe room) has private balcony but superior has a flower garden segregating the rooms. Beds are firm and air con strong. Poolside rooms have trees blocking the view from the pool room entry(would not recommend) No poolside bar, gym is in good condition- reception to turn on air con. Breakfast is basic continental and Thai with egg station. Had no hot water in our room and was fixed straight away. Expect your typical service from this district. Overall would stay again.

Cons: Only one, and I think it is a big one. The safe in my room was not anchored. The safe itself is only about 10 lbs and anyone could just pick it up and take it away. I was uncomfortable to leave my passport and cash. I asked the front desk as to why the safe was not anchored like it is in all other 4 star hotels that I stayed at. She told me that all rooms have unanchored safes at their hotel. I would highly recommend that they remedy this. Other than that, this hotel is really quite good.

Steven (8/5): Good location and nice hotel. - I stayed here for 5 nights in February/ March 2019. Check in went very well with a very pleasant lady on reception. Good size room and cleaned daily. We did call reception as our toiletries were not filled up and they arrived swiftly, took the empty bottles and returned them filled up. Nice breakfast, great location in Ao Nang, short walk to the beach passing lots of restaurants, bars, clothes stalls etc. 2 bottles of water left in your room each day, no mini bar but you do get a good sized fridge to stock up on water and Thai beer if you fancy.

The day before we left, I tried to verify we would have a car to take us back to the airport. The girl gave us the price of B700. Ok fine, we'll do it. Next morning at check-out I ask her if we can leave our luggage with them until our car at 3pm. Yes, and they tagged our bags to hold. 3pm and no car! I ask why & she says I didn't ask for one. I ask for the mgr & explain this is the 3rd time I've requested a car. The girl LIES to her mgr, repeatedly, & says we never asked for a car!!! The mgr calls for a car & says it would be 20 min & he'll discount it to B500 for the inconvenience. We almost missed our flight because of this. Will NEVER recommend this place.
