- Benjamin (4/5): - Unfortunately, we didn't end up traveling as had an emergency. We booked 3 hotels for our hiking trip and this was the only one that didn't try to accomodate us in some way. I understand their T&Cs are no refunds, but so were the other hotels, and they kindly gave us a partial refund or moved the dates. This hotel also spammed our inbox with several automated/template marketing emails, but don't actually check their own inbox incase of issues. I was also a little surprised to find they had no parking at the hotel, which they clearly advise you after you've booked but is not clear at all pre-booking, which felt slightly misleading. Although we didnt stay, i very much got the feel that this is a corporate chain or large venue whereas the other hotels i communicated with in the similar area gave a much more personal touch.

- Lucy (6/5): - Very nice hotel in a beautiful setting. I didn't think it was worth the money as we had to pay nearly £10 for parking and we had to keep the curtains closed as we were over looked by customers on the terrace. There was also a large crack in the sink that had been there some time. The breakfast was tasty, good quality sausage, but would have liked the option of two slices of bacon or two eggs. We had dinner in the pub. Service was poor, we were left without drinks for over half an hour after our meal and again after our dessert. The chairs were uncomfortable. Overall, we didn't feel very welcome, which is a shame, because we were trying the hotel as a possible destination for our honeymoon, next year.

- Robert (8/5): Good apart from availability of dinner tables - Everything was good at the Hotel except that you said there was no tables available for dinner at 7. To 8pm and when we got there there was plenty of tables available so that was rubbish you need to get your system right

We had a lovely meal and a drink on the terrace looking out over the river, it was bliss! Staff were helpful and friendly, breakfast was awesome, we had a great time, we'll definitely be back!

Our room was on the small side but it was well equipped and very clean, with a comfy bed too. The ensuite was perfect. We ate ate the Inn and all our meals were good and tasty, especially the breakfast with a good range of options.

Room lacking fridge and windows painted shut except one the kept closing when opened. Bed comfy. Bathroom well apppointed although basin was very low. Had to stoop to use it. Hotel well maintained and was very good.

- Rachel (6/5): - When we booked the room it said it had a partial lake view. The room was tiny and looked on to the busy square which was very noisy. When checking in the area was staffed by the say staff who where serving drinks behind the bar, so we had to wait for a long time.

- heena (8/5): - The hotel is such a great location & lovely inside. The cons: no fridge which can be tough if you have a little one. Also, no charge point for electric toothbrushes. Parking is a gamble. There are paid for parking nearby but a shame the parking spots aren’t reserved for guests. Also, we got stung by the breakfast drinks. We didn’t realise until the end how much we were spending on hot chocolates & lattes. I think the hotel should give you a bill at the end of each breakfast so you are made aware exactly how much you are paying for drinks. The hotel staff were very friendly & it was a great stay otherwise.

Accomodated us with a bigger room on the 1st before check in as we were booked in on the ground floor in needs with easy access room. really appreciated the care and attention to detail will be staying there again!
- Mr Paul (10/5): New year visit. - We went for a three day break after new year. The hotel was slightly busier than we or the staff expected which created a great atmosphere. The hotel is rooms above a restaurant/Pub, neither of which can be heard when you get to your room which was a real pleasant surprise. The residents lounge area at the front of the pub is a great idea, when the log fires are on it really is a great place to relax with a drink and let the dog sleep after a days walking. The bedroom was compact, but very clean & comfortable. The ensuite bathroom (beautifully decorated) is a great size, unlike the bath which was on the small side! The choice of food & drink was superb, lots of fresh ingredients used in the menu. The breakfast was superb, with lots of choice. I have to mention the staff, who from check In to check out were amazing! They are extremely professional and friendly with it. They couldn'tdo more to make you feel very welcome! The village of Pooley bridge is a great base for exploring the Northern area of the lakes. The fact it snowed whilst we were there only added to the villages beauty. We will definitely be returning!

Until late at night then again early in the morning 4 am onwards. Stairs next to room in constant use till 2am . Some one banging on hotel entrance door at 2.30 am as locked out.
- Peter (10/5): - The hotel is a large old inn on the outside, but inside is modern, clean and very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and looked after us very well. For example: we were shown to our room on arrival (never had that before) and were a font of knowledge about the various local walks and sights. There is even a map painted on the ceiling of the bar! Restaurant was an excellent source of hearty and freshly cooked meals (breakfasts and dinners). Highly recommend.

The hotel, bar and restaurant look great and our room was lovely with modern facilities with nice comfy bed ! We had dinner and breakfast which was delicious - the burger in particular that I had was one of the best that I’ve had. The location is beautiful, a lovely quiet village with great scenery and ideally placed to explore the Lakes. Our only regret is that we only stayed for one night as a stopover on our way to Scotland. We will definitely come back but stay for several nights next time !! We highly recommend.

Having fresh milk and proper mugs for tea in the room alongside border biscuits was great. The room was very warm for us on arrival, even with the radiator off, but leaving the windows open did the trick. Overall a great stay!

Both refused to do anything. I’m now about to sue them for breaches of the Trade Descriptions act, Sale of Goods and Services Act and the Internet Trading Act.

- Ian (10/5): Great pub, great hotel, great location. - Great hotel, rooms very clean and we got a bottle of water, biscuits, tea, coffee, hot chocolate. We had room 7 and this had an iron and ironing board. It was hot when we went, there is no air con so a large fan was provided. A small amount of cars, about 10 spaces are available at the front of the hotel but they are always taken. A public car park was within 50m of the hotel and charged £8.50 for 24 hours. Hotel bar and restaurants are lovely. It has rear terraces over 3 floors that overlook the river and Pooley Bridge. The weather was fab and the tables were very popular due to the smartness and location. Pub is dog friendly and although lots of people do bring dogs to Pooley Bridge and the Crown, all were friendly safe dogs and on leads. We could always get served even at busy times. They have QR codes on each table so they can bring online orders direct to you. You get what you pay for and it was worth it.

Sat in the residents lounge but no one took our order. We were ignored by staff. Brought all of the above up at check out and the lady behind the bar simply said "oh". The room was comfortable but noisy at night outside, and lacking air con, which was a bit of a issue as it was too warm not to have the window open. Food was standard we felt and a bit over priced for the quality. The curry was very mild and while the food was ok it lacked a bit of love.Parking if you were lucky was outside otherwise at a farmers field 600 yards away. Busy busy place to visit. Our room was rwo floors yp and with a dog was a little tricky to navigate but ok with caution. Overall 6/10 for me.

- Damian (10/5): Great hotel! - Absolutely loved this hotel. The rooms are really nice and the bar and restaurant area are lovely too. Toiletries were the White Company and in bigger bottles so much more eco friendly as it wasn’t the small single use ones that most other hotels insist on using. We had our dog with us and it’s probably the most dog friendly hotel we’ve stayed in. And the location means there’s a lovely walk along the lake in the woods on the doorstep. Our only criticism was the bedroom was absolutely roasting and we couldn’t figure out why as we turned all the radiators off and even had the window open all night (in January!). Would love to go back in the summer and make the most of the outdoor terrace.
- David (10/5): Amazing - This hotel is blessed with amazing staff . I got a call asking if I needed dinner the first night as I had put that I would arrive late. Great clean hotel. Would recommend very highly. I am not a person who often leaves reviews but feel these guys more than deserve it.

- Richard (10/5): Great place, really enjoyed the stay - Lovely hotel/inn right by the river in Pooley Bridge - they really looked after the enormous number of dogs staying there! Great service and food especially on Christmas Day where the staff were fantastic. Shame they don’t recycle as company policy though - this seems inconceivably backwards in the 21st century.
- J m (10/5): Nice and cosy atmosphere - An amazing stay in a lovely area. Nice pub with friendly, welcoming staff. Warm & cosy with log burning fire and games. The guests lounge was a fab touch for guests. Our room was well equipped and comfortable, however, our TV remote didn’t work which meant we were unable to change the channel for the duration of our stay even after changing batteries which was a little disappointing.
- Richard (10/5): - A lovely welcome on our arrival. Our room was verynice with good quality bedding, towels toiletries and tea/coffee/ biscuits provided ( cold milk for drinks). Evening meal was very good and more than enough for our appetites. Breakfast too offered range of choices - smoked salmon and scrambled eggs was very generous!! Service efficient and friendly. Excellent all round.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good stay, food wasnt great - Room was lovely, service was very good also.very homely and pretty location. Food in the restaurant wasnt great, i ordered a 'handstretched' pizza and it was basically an oven pizza and charged £16 for it, nachos with cheese and bacon was as basic as it sounds for £8. Maybe i chose the wrong items Staff were very polite.
- Christine (6/5): Privacy - We were given a ground-floor twin-room (Room1). I had requested a twin-room. Prior to booking, I received a call from the hotel, to confirm that I had requested a twin-room, and it was also mentioned that the room was accessible (I did not need an accessible room). The room has a large window (covered by a curtain) facing the busy local store and tourist information office. When we were in the room during the day, there was no privacy; it felt as if were were sitting in a shop window on view to the shoppers and tourists! If the location of the room had been explained to me during the confirmation phone-call, I would have cancelled the reservation. I conveyed my views when I checked out of the hotel, and was informed that there is only one twin-room in the hotel. On a positive note, if you need an accessible room, this room would great (except for lack of privacy!). The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean.

I had my honeymoon at Pooley Bridge 1976 and often been back but my first time staying at The crown inn and cant wait to return 🙂
- Coral (6/5): - The room we were given in the annex was very small and not what the write up and previous reviews had stated. It was a lot of small things that made our stay ðifficult. There was no shelf in the bathroom for toilets, milk for tea and coffee had to be collected from the main hotal because there was no phone in the room. The parking was ok but again if we were not able to park in the shopping spaces then we would have to pay to park. We were informed the resturant may close early due to the lack of staff. There are a few small changes that could have made all the difference to our experience. The room we were in, i got the impression from the other guests that their rooms were much bigger, ours could not even fit in chair. When you have been walking all day we really wanted to sit in a chair rather than just having a bed. Over all we were very disappointed, and were told when we arrived that the last room had just gone to a couple who had just turned up and not booked. The staff were lovely, but the price for the room which was not the standard room was not worth the money we paid.

- Mark (6/5): No Privacy and drafty - We were given Room1 The Barn.The room was of ample size with a pleasant decor ,the problem was that the front of the room was a full window facing onto the road /pavement so if you didnt have the curtains closed you had no privacy whatsoever. Also there was a gap underneath the front door of at least 1-1.5 inches that caused a major draft not to mention the noise .It was a very busy location across from a very busy shop with lots of deliveries early morning .I personally would recommend a voil type curtain for privacy to the room allowing guests a little natural light and prehaps a better fitting door the noise and draught spoilt our stay if im honest .The breakfast was fabulous and service was great but the privacy and noise outweighed this.

Parking is no problem. Ground floor pub with outside seating. Delicious food. We Wwll definitely go again.

A door mat and a broom would help keep the floor cleaner and a small fridge for milk as we kept forgetting to get the small flask from the bar.

- B (10/5): Crown Inn - Pooler Bridge Review - 2 days previously we stayed in a supposed 4 star hotel. The crown Inn was far superior in all respects. The staff we welcoming, attentive and made a great fuss of our dog! The place was clean and everything in the room worked - which is more than I can say for the supposed 4 star - where even after bringing things to the attention of the management nothing was done. Would certainly stay there again.

- kay (8/5): Raniy pooley Bridge - Great location shame no parking we was very lucky getting a space in front tof the Crown Inn but this could be a problem. Nice hotel food very good only down side everyone has to order on an app and for some this can be a pain specially the older generation also you dont get to know the staff no communication. Room comfortable but very warm we was in a standard room right at the top with a very small window and lots of stairs to climb .

- Russell (10/5): Relaxing stay - Room 3 was a converted out building next to the inn, the room was small but comfortable as i was on my own, modern decor and new, bed was very comfy and bathroom was spacious and nicely furnished with a large rainfall shower and very clean. Amenities in room very good with a good selection of fresh coffee and tea, fresh milk is provided and huge flat screen tv which can be angled on wall mount for perfect viewing. Also a fan is provided which helps keep room cool in hot weather. The inn has been re furbished with ample seating and table service in a modern app ordering system which was very efficient with promp delivery of food and drinks with very friendly and courteous staff, food is exellent and breakfast is pre ordered on arrival with a large selection and very satisfying. The outdoor seating is scenic overlooking the river and wildlife (ducks) Only downside is that room 3 is nextvto the delivery acces to the inn and can be noisy from 7am with delivery drivers 😒 good job i was planning an early start to the day.
- Amanda (10/5): Crown Inn Pooley Bridge you were Amazing - Our stay was amazing, the room was large and clean room 4. The staff were very friendly and could not do enough for you, The location is ideal and close to the water for walking, boats and swimming. The breakfast was very large and tasty. Would go back again. I had to change our booking a few times and Jonny on reception was very patient and accommodating. I left my purse in the room on check put and the staff called me to say it was in the safe so I could collect on the way home. My bad but they did all they could to make sure I got it back.
