Guest Reviews
- H. (9/5): - De rust en personeel. Koelkast zonder vriezer.
- Raquel (8/5): - Nature. Calmness. Friendly staff. Shutters from the doors which couldn't be locked.
- Raquel (8/5): - Nature. Close to good local food and supermarket, Sorobon beach. Well situated. Not noisy. Friendly staff. Shutters which didn't lock from inside or windows that could not be opened.
- rene (7/5): - Mooie ligging.mooi zwembad

Investeer liever in 1x goed.
- Cherrylusha (8/5): Best weekend for relaxing - Its very quiet you can relax without being disturbed I liked everything
- Hotelreviews.com (10/5): Nice place and comfortable - Very friendly and accomodating staff. Spacious houses, calm surroundings and all required for a comfortable stay. None
- Alina (9/5): Fantastisch!
- Michael (9/5): Very friendly, laid back and convenient! - Lovely, quiet location 5 min from town and airport by car/taxi. Private, free on- site parking included-very helpful for rental cars with diving equipment.Very friendly and helpful hosts, clean throughout, coffee and drinks available at poolside bar, completely equipped common kitchen. Would definitely stay at this friendly, convenient and excellent - value-for -money chalet- village-style accommodation again!
- Paula (8/5): -
- Kendrick (10/5): Good expirians - The nature
- Lawrence (8/5): - Red Palm is glamping. Stayed with my wife, daughter, and sister in law.
PROS:
Very nice indoor/outdoor floor plan
Staying in nature - iguanas, black and orange birds, etc.
Excellent bathroom--shower has good water pressure and drainage
Modern kitchen
Very nice patio area with table
Lovely non-chlorinated pool
Have movie night once a week--excellent projector and sound system (although film about holocaust...)
Excellent central location: 10 min from wild flamingo area (awesome); horse ranch; and outstanding mangrove kayak tour. Another 10 min down the road is a very beautiful part of Lac Bay.
CONS:
- Frozen meat in the refrigerator when we arrived. Staff cleaned it promptly when asked.
- There is a $65 mandatory cleaning fee due at the location. It would be much better if that $65 could be included in the total charge we pay up front.
- Limited to no laundry service. While we wash our clothes by hand, it's nice to have a few things washed in a real machine from time to time.
- There are a few bugs--some quite large. Must keep AC on at night (28 deg celsius good) to avoid them when sleeping.
- Somehow, our AC got turned off and would not turn on for a couple days. Again, staff fixed it quickly when asked.
- You may find yourself taking a shower with a lizard or frog. After a few screams we realized they are friendly and they became part of the family.
Unique and recommended!
- Drommond (5/5): Passable -
- Raymond (8/5): - Very peaceful good for rest. Not close to city. Own transportation is a must.
One problem. I was asked to pay for roomcleaning while the payment for my stay includes the cleaning service
- Miguelina (7/5): We forgot to ask... - A very helpful and accomodating staff member; Jaqueline. Thank you and until a next time. Will be back because we forgot to ask about the name of the place? 😁
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional - A little bit the dutch-like stiffness;)
- Erika (9/5): Rustic but charming resort conveniently located for wind sport enthusiasts. - The staff was amazing and you could tell they really like working there. The pool area was great and the Chef there prepared amazing 4-course menus. Reservations are a must for the meals since they are not offered every night. The door to the cabins are folding shutters either no netting but the netting over the bed was very welcome!
- Michael (8/5): Very friendly staff, excellent chef - Location, layout Refrigerator had definitely seen better days, but I was told new ones are on order.
- Sandra (8/5): Very good - Location clean staff great .Reception and pool very nice. Will consider going back. WiFi good. Very basic for price. No frills cabin. No TV.
- Ksrigitrite (9/5): Delightful - One of the most beautiful places on Bonaire The pool and the restaurant are exceptional
- Belinda (7/5): Fabulous apart from mosquitoes! - Need a car but Location was great near the windsurfing beaches & easy to get to town . Also loved the swimming pool area , really stylish . plus the evening meals around the pool in the restaurant were lovely . Really great food & service & wonderful ambiance . No Mosquito nets in the cabins . My husband got bitten to bits & we had to go out & buy mosquito nets for over the beds . Need mosquito nets over all windows . Also a problem with cocroaches in our cabin !
- Marcia (9/5): Lovely – not too luxurious, but also not too busy. Just perfect for our first week on Bonaire. - The dinner was delicious, and the property is conveniently located, not far from Kralendijk. The cottage was very cozy, and we appreciated that each one is detached from the others. Despite all the cottages being occupied, the place was pleasantly quiet and not too busy. Guests must reserve a spot at the table for dinner a few days in advance.
- Mark (9/5): Superb - The restaurant is excellent, I highly recommend eating there!
- Marco (10/5): Absolutely amazing. - In touch with nature. Wifi free. So is the company of iguanas and other critters. Totally cool.
- Pavel (10/5): Great quiet place to stay close to Sorobon beach! - The location is perfect for windsurfing.
The bungalow was very private and clean.
Very welcoming hosts and nice pool and restaurant in the resort. We were four people in the two bedroom bungalow, and there was not enough dining ware for all of us.
- Mark (10/5): - I enjoyed my stay at this location. Room was comfortable and quiet. Staff was wonderful!! If you stay have the dinner by the wonderful chef that gives you a surprise menu, DELICIOUS!!!
- Lisenne (10/5): - We needed a romantic getaway to spice things up and get out of our weekly routine and that's exactly what we got. After searching for a weekend away from home and not really wanting to be in allot of people in a big hotel we found this GEM in bonaire. Really everything was perfect. The communication with the staff, the location in the woods, the privacy, the hot water. It was just a different vibe and felt really homey and save. It's not a luxury hotel but we had everything we needed. We will sure be going soon back. The price is a reasonable price and we appreciated that also. To conlude our review: "Our romantic getaway was a success! "
- Caroline (9/5): Superb - The ants
- Mibolange (10/5): - Super!!! Nice place.
- Jordan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elrod-sadler (10/5): A Diver's Oasis - Loved the relaxed vibe, friendly people, and star quality food! Jaqui and Corjan make everyone feel at home. For non-Europeans, the AC situation on Bonaire might be a surprise. But it doesn't matter if you're in the water all day.
- Abraham (9/5): we had a great vacation - excellent privacy and lay out no issues
- Huub (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ombretta (10/5): A cozy place with very nice people - Cozy place
Personnel super cool and helpful
Top level restaurant
- Tina (3/5): We were eaten alive at night. We were told they were not bedbugs. Never going back there - We liked the property in terms of how each hut had its own privacy and with the pool near the bar/kitchen.
The ladies at the front desk Olga & Daniel were super nice. Breakfast or any other meals were not offered. We were sent an email saying you had to make reservations in advance for dinner. We make one while on the plane for that evening and we are told no availability. Later they give us shrimp and pasta without bread costing us $55 in total with a beer and soda. Then when we try to book a reservation for next few days (Thursday & Friday) we are told they are booked till March 11. Thursday evening, I check the eating area near the pool - no activity at all for other guests. In other words there were no meals being prepared. Friday night they had a wedding event at the only central place for guests to gather. Per the note in the room , we were not allowed to make loud noises etc after 10 pm. This wedding with its loud music continued till 10.45pm.
It seemed like the chef/manager was more concerned about holding events than providing food for guests at the hotel.
I hope the owner Leo will read this. As the hotel needs to decide if it’s a place for holding events or to accommodate guests. It is not located near anything so really hard to get around, let alone look for food.
- Brent (6/5): Pleasant - manager was great
pool was very good
quit location no door to washroom in room
gap at top of the door allowed many mosquitos in the room at night.
- Agnieszka (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lloyd (8/5): Very good - very relaxing environment. Important safety tip…bring mosquito repellent to Bonaire!!
- Agnieszka (10/5): Exceptional - Danielle is the best.
- Jordan (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was beyond Perfect!
- Busaga09 (8/5): Very good - pool
- Busaga09 (8/5): Very good -
- Verified traveler (10/5): good stay - It was a good stay, love that it’s out In the middle of nowhere you don’t have high-rises around you. When the Cook is there the food is amazing. Beware on Mondays they have a movie and a food truck and don’t really care about the guest. But over all it was good
- Geertje (8/5): - Nice and quiet setting. Staff is very friendly and easy going.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I did like the glamping style and I didn't like the noise from the planes taking off.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great Stay - A cross between a glamping and bungalow experience-- overall great experience! The accommodations were clean, great outdoor kitchen for cooking meals, comfy bed, and great air conditioning. Only downside was wifi was only accessible at the common area by the pool, so definitely not conducive for a business trip but a great excuse to disconnect.
- Jeanine (10/5): - The property was oke. I love that whole imaging how you guys set up the place. Great job!!
- Shervenley (10/5): - I dont have to much to say .. the resort is excilent . Relax its verry cool
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The welcome was great; I felt like I was visiting friends. The area is semi-wild, which was nice, and there is a lovely pool. The cooking is fantastic. The Dutch owners give great advice on how to spend your time and get around. There is free gated parking on the premises. On the downside, there are no glass windows or screens, only shutters. One of the nights I was there the rain was pouring, and no matter how I set the shutters the rain came in. Also, with no windows or screens to deter them, during the day the room has small nonbiting insects that get in your eyes and nose, and at night when the wind dies down, the occasional mosquito turns up.
- Jordan (8/5): - Really cool boutique hotel. If you're okay with not a lot of privacy this is a beautiful spot with an outrageously friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely place - great owners, newish place. Fancy glamping
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice clean
Very good staff helpful and friendly
Good food with a good chef
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A return to this "Bonaire Home Away from Home" ; once again a wonderfully welcome & peaceful experience taking things easy while being taken excellent care of by Leo & Anne !
- Verified traveler (8/5): Need screens to make this cozy set of chalets 100% - awesome staff, chef and facilities in the 'outback' of sorts of Bonaire. not on the beach, but not far. staff is friendly and once you're used to the coziness of the experience, you'll blend in.
Bonaire is somewhat arid. Desert like. Ergo the cactus fencing used to keep animals at bay (very effective).
However window shutters are used instead of screen mesh and windows. They do enhance room aesthetics and play up windows and establish a certain feel or atmosphere in a room or space.
The downside is there is no seal on the windows and therefore insects can fly in or crawl in.
- Alexander (10/5): Excellent stay at Red Palm village! - The resort has about 25-30 cabins, it is newly opened, well maintained and comfortable. Each room has also its own kitchenette with everything you will need. Located in the middle of the road from Kralendijk to Sorobon/Lac Bay, a very nice and convenient off-grid living. The resort is managed by a retired couple who are super nice and will try to help you with anything you need. We stayed there for 8 days, we loved it. Recommended!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
- Morvin (10/5): A village of olde! A stay to remember... - From the time I walked in I felt welcomed. The owners handed me a beer before the dirt on my shoes settled. This was by far one of the best places I've ever had the pleasure to stay at. I will be back.
- J (8/5): Lovely concept, beautiful pool, easy to reach - Lovely concept and nice little camper village feel. The pool is lovely as is the look of the hotel / accommodation - the room is pretty small so may be difficult for elder guests to get in and out of the bed with narrow access either side, and we had a bit of a problem with mosquitos and the bed has no netting or blinds of the wooden shutters. Outside kitchen and dining area on each patio is nice, except when the rain comes and you are then left with little inside space unless you are in the larger 2 bedroom units.
Easy access from town in a car, and nice idea having different cooks in during the week - should perhaps advertise more exactly what is available each night. WIFI ok, but some problems accessing a few sites.
Overall a nice stay, just need to make a few adjustments and I think it could be really great
- Brian (10/5): Nice and relaxing - Owners are really nice and accommodating. I needed to rent a bicycle and he went out of his way to take me to rent one.. Setting they have created is amazing and very relaxing. Ive never stayed anywhere quite like it. I enjoyed bicycling around the area sight seeing, Relaxing in the hammock at the room, and enjoying the settings by the pool/restaurant. The dinners there were amazing and well priced. I would love to come back and visit again.
