I didn’t want to leave the room - I just wanted to sit by the window and watch the river flow. Everything in the room worked perfectly. The beds were super comfortable. The pool is a major perk- so is the robot that delivers drinks and snacks. Definitely order something from the robot! I’ll always stay at this hotel when I’m in Chongqing. It honestly felt like home.

Breakfast buffet was plentiful with a good mix of Chinese and Western food. Staff was extremely helpful and spoke some English. Not a far drive from the main areas but still far enough to be nice and quiet. Highly recommend!

- Yan Lung (10/5): - I like it. Their staffs are friendly and nice. The room is clean and welly kept. It is safe and secure with a police station in next block. The MTR is not nestby. Public transportation is not convenient. However, the local attraction, the “White Elephant Street" just 3 minutes uphill walking in the back of the hotel. This is also the walking shortcut to other local attractions and lot of local dining choices within 15 minutes. After you know this shortcut, you won't feel any inconvenience anymore.

The hotel has everything you could need, a shop a few doors up and plenty of cheap taxis just a few minutes wait away. Chongqing is a very hilly place (obviously) so be prepared to have to walk up lots of hills, the hotel is at the bottom of a hill near the river so unless You take a taxi, you’re pretty much going to encounter a hill to get to where you’re going. Would stay again

The river and city view was spectacular. The bed & bedding was very comfortable to relax and sleep in. We had an issue with the laundry machine in our room and the staff were very quick to service us immediately and resolve the problem. Darcy went above and beyond for us and we are grateful for her. I would definitely recommend this hotel for the clean rooms and exceptional staff. The breakfast buffet offered Asian and western foods and was very delicious.

Examples, the buffet food are not covered, when ordering the noodles to the chef behind the counter, we are literally talking over the dishes at the counter. The dining place is warm as the sun shines right into it, fans were placed around and tends to blow used serviettes and food crumbles over the table onto the floor.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely place but hard to get cab - The apartment is great, so comfortable like home. The staff are so friendly and helpful although it’s hard to communicate as most staff English are not so great. The only prb I have is it’s hard to get a cab back to the hotel as a lot of the cabs said that they do not know the hotel and refused to take us.

- John (10/5): I like Somerset Hotels - I regularly stay in the Somerset Chengdu and I came to Chongqing this year for the Lantern Festival. Somerset Yangtze River Chongqing did not disappoint. The rooms are a very high standard and the breakfast was excellent. I will definitely stay here again next time that I come to Chongqing.

- Xin Yun (10/5): - The hotel is very clean with many amenities. It is located beside the Yangtze River so you can take a walk along the river any time. Convenient access to the 解放碑 central area where you can taste Chongqing just at one place. Remember to use the elevator!

- Verified traveler (10/5): Value-for-money hotel in Chongqing - Property location is excellent: situate right in front of Yangtze River and is within approx. 15 mins walking distance from all major attractions. Also, front desk staffs are very friendly and helpful too. The only minor complaint I had was that there were some unpleasant order in the room on my first night accommodation, but than the smell went away on the 2nd day. All in all, it's a value-for-money hotel in Chongqing.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice property saddened by poor management - The property itself is very pleasant. Well done Somerset. HOWEVER, the management is substandard - actually surprised me in a negative way on how Somerset could find itself fine with the local management team. Understand that it was during the Chinese National holiday but that was no excuse for how they underprepared breakfast. All food gone by 8:30, not to mention that the servers were rude and refused to let us get seated in the restaurant. We had to bring our noodles to the lobby and was kicked back into the restaurant without a proper table prepared. Staff were unprofessional - gym was supposed to open by 7 but the steam room was not operating until we entered. Bad experience overall.

- Tau Peng (10/5): Lovely stay - It was an amazing stay. The one bedroom was pretty spacious and clean. We would love to stay there when visiting Chongqing again in the future.

We loved the light show that the downtown buildings put on, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. My wife especially loved the room, its cleanliness, the view, the handy washer-dryer, and all the amenities won her over.

Wasted my valuable time in connecting wi-fi. The location is not good as there are no good restaurants near the hotel.

Their beds were so comfy and u feel like stay in the bed better than going out. Just remember to bring hotel Chinese name card with u when go out, otherwise u will find difficulty to come back to hotel. Hotel.com didn't mention in Chinese name, therefore we got difficulty to find this hotel by taxi from airport. This is the only weak point. Others were perfect.

- Verified traveler (10/5): What a top hotel!! - We had a room with a view of the river. It was great! It was honestly one of the nicest rooms I have ever stayed in! The room was so spacious and the bed so comfortable-compared with what Chinese beds are normally like!! The free breakfast was plentiful and tasty. There are many small restaurants close by and taxis can be called by the hotel, but always get the helpful English speaking staff to write in Chinese where you want to go so you can give it to the driver, as so few people speak English in CQ! There is a nice pool, gym and sauna though I wasn't able to use any of them! My only complaint was that there wasn't a roof top bar!

- tiffany (10/5): Excellent three bedroom hotel for families! - We booked the three bedroom suite and it was perfect! All three rooms were big; common space areas were also very big! The decor is very modern. The rooms are very clean. Breakfast is good! Swimming pool and steam room are excellent!! The rooms had very nice view of the Yangtze River! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going to Chong chin!
