- Bonnie (10/5): We had a great holiday at Kamuela Villas - Beautiful property
- Yee Ming (10/5): - 冷气不冷,告诉他们了也没改进。
- Jo (8/5): Lovely place and fantastic location. 2 mins to the beautiful Lagoi Bay and opposite the shopping centre which is also lo - Spacious rooms and lovely bathroom.
Very comfortable bed.
The pool was lovely but I wasn’t aware there was a main pool too. I’d prefer an enclosed shower not open air, but it wasn’t a problem.
- Abhijith (10/5): Superb stay for families & honeymooners - Hotel is awesome & so as the location. The room was perfect for a family with a private pool, bathtub, attic & a large bedroom. The access to beach & shopping is just across the road. Overall a well spent relaxed holiday. No negatives as such. We were provided with breakfast at the room as there was a maintenance at the restaurant. May be a larger menu would have been good.
- Azlinah (8/5): Family short gateway, don’t expect shopping malls just a chill and relaxing sun & breeze. - The privacy as we have private pool in the villa. The friendly staffs. No facilities so didn’t expect much.
- Bruno (8/5): ideal gateway 1hour from Singapore for few days - villa with private pool
exterior living room and shower
breakfast in room service
Whatsapp wit the hotel : easy to communicate
ferry shuttle included the hotel team was "jumping" on us everytime we were passing by the lobby to propose extra services, tour bookings, massages....we already booked on our own : if they want to offer it is ok, but maybe before the stay or maybe a brochure in the room, this was too much for us.
- Saumik (9/5): -
- Ni (10/5): - Love the hotel The swimming pool
- Zsin woon (7/5): -
- Dennis Tan (8/5): 4D3N stay - The price is reasonable. It is near the beach. It is near to Lagoi Plaza. The corridor is very beautiful. The villa room's paint and furniture are nit in good condition. Some electric appliances are not working too
- Chisa (8/5): - Staff was very friendly and helpful. Villas are spacious and great for family getaway It will be great if breakfast is buffet instead of dining in villa as it was cold when it was served
- Lim (9/5): Well-rested. - The spaciousness of the villa, closeness to nature, and the indoor private pool :) NIL
- Glenn (8/5): Great value and good food - Really good value for money Some of the facilities can be a bit run down.
- Mark (10/5): A special mention and a big thank you to all the staff, Qory, Citra, Imam and Malvin at the front desk, Neli and Tri als - Location was great with just 100m to plaza / shops and restaurants.
The room to me was fantastic (maybe not five star in a city, but in its own unique way just wonderful … 180 sq mtr room with a private pool, spacious bedroom and very comfortable bed, shower in the garden and maybe a few insects but they don’t worry too much and if you don’t leave food out it’s ok!
Opening the bedroom sliding door and falling into pool is a rare and wonderful experience A few insects / ants but the place is surrounded by nature and bush etc so completely acceptable and it a problem
- Iskandar (10/5): -
- Maisarah (8/5): Short stay - The hotel location was just opposite a mall which is very convenient and accessible. It is also near to the beach approx 5-7 mins walk. I love the spacious villa and room service efficiency. It is easy to communicate via WA. They could improve on the lack of food choices for breakfast. Personally I feel that the room spa was a little disappointing. During my stay, my daughter and I was stung by a bee. A baby bat lingering in the room which scares me and my family tremendously and being wary every morning of monkey visits (though we were lucky not to have experience it). Thankfully, the bat was caught the next day after we made a report.
- Ying (7/5): Overall good stay. - Nice tranquil environment. Got YouTube channel. Has a Lagoi plaza & Mustafa across the street. The shower hose is spoilt.
- Hobbs (9/5): -
- MrBombastic (6/5): Worth coming but just have a lower expectation of what you are getting. - Big space for family gathering and very friendly staff . And lastly the price is super reasonable. Place were filled with insects and cockroaches in the room. Toilet door were able to lock. The sliding window door is also faulty. The swimming pool is slightly dirty
- Tania (10/5): - Private pool

daily breakfast
- Monic (7/5): Incredible short getaway, would recommend - Everything is convenient, helpful staff Monkeys
- Brad (9/5): -
- Xinyi (4/5): I hope the management can really revamp the place. It could have been a much better place. - The villa is spacious, the staff are responsive. The location is convenient, short walked to the beach, around the area there are convenient stores and eateries. the pool and villa were dirty. some of the lights are not working. when we checked in, no bottled water was provided. no drinking cups too. Have to request by ourselves. The towels are also dirty.
- Aenie (10/5): -
- Jisun (10/5): - 너무 아름다운 공간 구성 개미가 많아요
- Janaki (8/5): Lovely stay with a few small things that could be better... - The villas were lovely and spacious, the location was great and the staff were wonderful! They continuosly made every effort to meet our requests in terms of food/transport etc. While the rooms were lovely, the cleanliness and maintainance were not too great if you looked closely.... (e.g. safes in all our rooms were not working, rusy parts, some doors that dint shut etc). The other thing that we dint enjoy too much was that you had to select breakfast one day in advance... we were a very big group, and then there was no room to change your mind. While the kitchen staff did their best, it was not so pleasant that we had to choose in advance, and then sometimes still got told that some things were not available... and then sometimes, the same thing would be different from one day to the next (e.g. granola was served with 4/5 different fruits one day, and just a banana the next)- maybe it was the time of the year... but this was a small inconvenience in an otherwise wonderful stay of days!
- David (10/5): -
- Vidhya (10/5): - location is near lagoi beach - which was very convenient
facilities were very nice and comfortable
Saw monkeys, sparrows and animals right from.the living room there is bad smell at the restaurant sit out next to the fish pond
too many mosquitoes around due to open living room
The swimming pool in the villa is very open, need to be very careful with small kids. its very easy for them to slip in when unwatched
- Sirajudeen (8/5): - Spacious, pool in room. Can be better maintained
- Nurnadia Liyana (8/5): -
- Tracey (8/5): Spacious place to stay in the heart of Lagoi Bay - Having a private pool was excellent along 2 bedrooms and bathrooms.
The living area was lovely and spacious and we liked the outdoor feel to it without the walls.
Amazing location. Close to the beach and plaza with restaurants
The on-site restaurant was very good.
Having our breakfast delivered to our villa,ea h morning was a real treat.
Sraff service was excellent. Due to the outdoor layout, it felt difficult to keep it ant and bug free.
Some things needed updating or replacement like the kitchen. The bathroom doors didnt close etc. A few modernisations would take it to the next level.
The TV didnt work the whole time.
- Richard (6/5): Good place but some important improvements are needed. - The location near the beach. The quality of food is quite low. The blinds separating the bathroom from the pool were in poor condition and unusable.
- Kyin (10/5): -
- PAULINE (9/5): -
- Hidayah (8/5): Great stay! - Great hospitality and facility.
Staff was friendly.
Location is near Lagoi Beach and Plaza.
- Farhana (10/5): - The staffs are friendly and the breakfast came on time. Nil
- Hui Jun (8/5): Not a bad stay... - The villa design was very tropical, and the rooms were very high, so it gave a feeling of luxury. The employee and staff were very friendly and responded to us quite quickly.
There was an on-site driver attached to you, and you can make payment to at the end of the trip. He brought us to some local eateries and shopping, which were a lot cheaper than the resort area.
Breakfast was delightful, you choose the day before and and they delivered right to your room. There's no floating breakfast I guess but it's still very nice. The pool in the villa didn't smell very chlorine-y, perhaps because of the proximity to the rooms. So this caused a bit of floaters and, I'd like to say, algae/ stains in the pool which was a bit of a turn off.
- Cathryn (8/5): It’s has been a very pleasant stay and I’m grateful for all the staff warm hospitality. The (whatsapp) is easily accessi - Convenient location to eating places, stores like mustafa, yeah! Mart and very near beach. I will think only feedback I have is the back shower area to the bathroom, if there is an additional door for guests to close off the bathroom area especially at night will be good.
- Mark (8/5): -
- Sarah (8/5): Great stay with the amazing private pool and great bedroom to really chill and relax comfortably. Grateful for the shutt - The private pool was amazing with the tranquility that I get. The outdoor shower was great too but it can get pretty dark though I am thankful for the light that they have to ensure it wasn’t so dark. Toilet was great too especially with the bidet sprayer was fantastic. The room was great too especially with the air conditioning and the pillows and mattress. I’m thankful that the staff came and change my TV when Netflix wasn’t working so that’s a great plus and the everyday cleaning was great too since I did notice they would change all my bedsheet and pillow cases. Living room and dining room was good too however I didn’t use it much. Sadly my bathtub had some issue with the knob that releases the plug and I had to call the staff to help me unplug it which he was really nice however I think it really needs to be fixed. Would also like the pool to have an additional light cause it can get really dark at night. Also, the breakfast spread needs improvement in terms of food quality as it’s can be a letdown even though it is room service (very grateful for it). I would like the western option to have maybe another 2 options and Asian breakfast to have a few more options though the Indonesian breakfast is great even though it can be on the salty side (for me). Drinks can also be improved however it’s still good enough for me especially the juices.
- HTL (7/5): There was a lot of highs, and personally minor lows - Firstly it is really value for money, the whole private villa and private pool to yourself, with the private pool being easily accessible from the room or even from the shower area, that is the way to have a holiday
and the towels, in all my years of travel at numerous places, this is the first place i would say the towels smell wonderful
and majority of the staff were nice and friendly as well, some...can do better
Beds were as comfortable as Holiday inn, clean, they even had those romantic mosquito netting
bathtub, toilet with the hose/bidet, shower is what you would expect like Banyan Tree
Television has Netflix and Disney+ just FYI what i didnt like...i guess was the jets in the pool? they were too weak such that there was stagnant water at the corners of the pool, hence i have to waterbomb to push the floating debris out of the pool. *But other than that the pool was not the dirty, it was clean, lightly chlorinated which is good, and yeah the walls and floor of the pool were not slimy but clean, so kudos
Also the shower area, there is no light, so you gotta bathe by 6pm because the sun starts to go down and it gets really dark.
The back doors from the room to the toilet area, i got to question why is the lock on the outside rather than the inside of the room? so yeah i couldnt lock the back doors other than using my clothes to tie a knot
Next my unit A3 got hit by Termites/Wood Boring Beetles, but instead of offering to change me to another villa, they asked for permission to spray insecticide in my airconditioned room, i monitored and it was ok, but i feel that the staff lacks experience on how to handle such impromptu cases, like there was no one for them to turn to for advice/direction, they should have moved me to another unit and locked down the entire unit for cleaning, because by the time i was checking out, i noticed it had spread to other parts of the unit, making things worse, so at check out i informed the front desk that they would need to shut down A3 for cleaning, or risk losing the whole unit and needed to do renovations.
Lastly, i believe the food can improve, there is no love for the food made, you can tell that it is being made for the sick of the job, even if i wasnt a former chef i would be able to tell as a regular customer.

- Samantha (8/5): A good timeout from the city - Nice private space with lovely pool and bathtub. We stayed for 4 nights and it almost felt like home, unlike the usual hotel feel which we appreciated it much. The 2 bedrooms are also quite spacious. The whole villa provides good space for the whole family.
The location is also wonderful. It takes a minute to cross over the junction for food, shop and beach. Tours are also just within 15 minutes car ride.
To add on, we almost had the beach to ourselves on the 2nd last day. It is so clean, the water is so clear, the nice blue sky, lots of seashells, tiny crabs, hermit crabs, tiny fishes and even jellyfish to catch / see. We ran and thousands of tiny crabs also ran for their lives and hide under the sand. An interesting sight. My husband even managed to scoop up hundreds of them with his hands. Also not to mention the sand has different texture created by the waves and tiny crabs which gives a nice sensory experience for my kids.
For tours, fireflies was the elderly and kids' highlight as they had never seen it before. You get to catch and touch them as well.
For the adults, we loved the Coffee Plantation "Kopi Sangit Bawah Langit" & Kampung Kelulut Stingless Bee Farm very much. Very authentic kampong feel. It is a family-run business and the farmers are extremely hospitable, kind and knowledgeable of their coffee and honey. Do support them. :)
Bintan is really underrated. More people should visit if you want a more laid back time to rest and recharge, and enjoy the slower pace of life. The flooring in the villa can become quite slippery when it gets wet. My kids fell down many times coming out from the bathtub and out of the pool. Thankfully, everyone are ok. Try put some towels around to prevent slip. Maybe the hotel can do something about it soon. We wouldn't want fatal accidents that will affect the business.
Depending on your neighbours, you do share the same wall on the sides. If they scream, hit and bang, you can hear and feel it. One of our bedrooms experienced such for the last 2 nights. Thankfully, it did not last throughout the night.
We enjoy food but the choices around the area are quite limited. With kids, we usually just head over to Warung Yeah! (Nicest food around) and order in from hotel (can be quite pricey but the food were great!) which is still doable though we hoped there can be more food choices.
The villa is also starting to show signs of wear and tear. Tap falling off, hairdryer not working, doors need to bang to close, power trips twice though quickly resolved...and not to say facing insects, birds and even monkeys eyeing and managed to steal our breakfast with the outdoor space.
In overall, it is still a nice stay away from the city. Would be good to come back again for a weekend trip to try out their bigger villa with living room space which we did not manage to book for this trip.
- Vibhooti (10/5): -
- YN Loh (10/5): - Staff very friendly and approachable. The pool in villa not well maintained. Rusty flooring and dirty water.
- Thamilaruvi (10/5): -
- Dibyadip Chatterjee (8/5): -
- NA YOUNG (8/5): -
- Deepak (10/5): -
- Kenneth (8/5): Good value for money. - Location was good. Villa is big. Apart from the bedroom, the villa wasn’t very clean.
- Nadhirah (10/5): Will come again for the private pool! - Near Lagoi plaza & lagoi beach.
- JOANNE (8/5): - This villa offers excellent privacy for its guests. The staff provides a very prompt response whenever an issue arises in the room. The accommodations are consistently clean. Furthermore, the rooms are remarkably spacious, providing ample room to relax. We appreciate the thoughtful attention to detail. The overall experience is one of comfort and efficiency. You will likely find your stay to be very satisfactory. It is a truly commendable choice for a peaceful and well-managed stay.
- Fairuza (9/5): Will come back - Private pool The sofa could be bigger
- Ng (5/5): overall would not come back, but could still pick out some fun moments with my partner - bed and pillows were comfortable, aircon was working well, toilet, private pool and rooms were clean. the breakfast served to the room - presentation looked really good, but the food tasted so bad… unless you’re into water sports, theres nothing to do around the property (east blue billiard cafe opposite the property was not bad though) and nothing much to eat as well, other than warung yeah. had to drive out 30mins from the property to get better food. and if you’re not a big fan of nature… there’s quite a lot of bugs as the living room is outdoor (though the bugs aren’t huge, still kinda nasty for me)
- Samantha (7/5): Nice villas could do with updating - The fact that it was villas and you had your own private pool. The solitude and peacefulness was fabulous.
We had monkeys come every morning for bananas and peanuts which we bought for them.
The staff were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
The communication via WhatsApp was really handy too As much as I loved the stay at Kamuela Villas, there were a few things that I didn’t like.
1. Our villa was broken and falling apart when we arrived - I told the staff the next morning that I was disappointed and they organised a different villa for us. Still a little broken but definitely better. When I say broken, tiles in the pool completely broken off, furniture broken
2. The private pool was amazing and we loved it however getting in and out was a little difficult - if you have mobility issues (or bad knees like me, might not be the place for you to stay). It also had algae issues
3. The tv didn’t work, we asked them to fix it and they did which was great.
4. The breakfast which is included - the American breakfast was in my opinion inedible. The pancakes came raw and uncooked, the only option that was okay was the museli.
- Anh Nhat (10/5): Perfect villa for familly trip - Spacious villa, very helpful staff and perfect service The restaurant is very small, not a lot of meal option
- NG CHEE LEONG (10/5): Overall Great - Rest and relax feel Nil
- Veronika (10/5): -
- Melissa (8/5): - Fantastic friendly staff. Only 10 minutes from the ferry terminal. Free transfer arranged by the hotel. Check in at 2pm. Just opposite is a new shopping & food area and an easy 5min walk to the beach. Felt like a very safe area and everyone we saw and met was friendly.
We had a two bed unit (one double, one twin) each with its own bathroom. Our own pool (very clean) and an outside living area, dining table, sink and fridge. Breakfast was delivered daily from our choice off the menu (can recommend the pancakes and muesli, and freshly squeezed fruit juice). We also ordered drinks throughout our stay which were delivered to our room and on the first day at lunch ate at the restaurant, then had food delivered to our room. All freshly cooked.
We stayed for two nights and barely left our unit - a fantastic, restful break from the sights and sounds of Singapore. It looked like they were in the process of working on some of the units, (which didn't disturb us at all) and if so would address the fact our unit was looking a bit tired in places.
We loved the natural element to the hotel - lots of greenery, open air shower etc, but it did mean we had a frog in our shower (we didn't mind sharing), cockroaches in the bathroom (the reception had a spray we used to deter future visits), some mystery poo pellets on our bedroom floor each morning, and a rat slinking across the living area a couple of times. I would have liked to see some evidence of attempts to keep the less savoury wildlife at bay, but overall it didn't detract too much from a nice quiet stay. Something to be aware of though if you are more squeamish about nature.
- jacquelynne (7/5): Kamuela is unique that it is a Villa experience versus the hotel room. It is spacious and cosy. - The place was super clean. The landscape, plants, pool everything was perfect. I can see so much effort put in that and I appreciate. They have a great location for offering villas in Lagoi - now that Idigo, four points and holiday inn express is near by. They have alot of potential to differentiate. Breakfast always arrived cold - like the Roti Canai curry but the coffee was hot. Room aircon works very well so that is great. Good job. The kitchen in Villa A1, we had 2BR - if there could be some utensils (spoon) or plates that would be useful. Pool was extremely clean so well done. We aso notice there was no tissue paper for the outside and in side the bed rooms - a basic thing for most hotels. Also some instructions in the shower would be good - how to turn to hot water and rain shower. TV was hard to figure out but we called staff to help and they helped. I really like the Watsapp service and they were very efficient. Well done guys. I know its so difficult but you did accomodate our request so well and we appreciate. ! I will be back .. I do the Indofood Triathlon every year ! 1. More utensils in the kitchen, extra spoon and plates in case we buy food back and want to eat.
2. No Tissue box in the rooms
3. No instructions on how to turn on the TV in the room.
- WEN YEE (8/5): -
- Audrey (8/5): Wonderful quiet place to retreat and very value for money - Quiet and spacious villa with a private pool. Great location and hospitality! Main pool area was a little dirty with leaves and a few cracked wooden boards. But this wasn’t a dealbreaker because our own private pool in the villa was great
- Him Hoo (10/5): - Helpful staff.
- jhgfhsdg (10/5): Great place to stay! - Stayed in a deluxe villa (recommend the upgrade) which was huge! Really nice place - just like in the photos. It was a toss up between Kamuela or the Four Points (due to location - wanted access to other places to eat) and while the latter looked good (we visited a couple of times) if you want privacy peace and quiet and your own pool Kamuela is the pick. I am from NZ and I think Westerners would really like it here for that reason - 4 seasons would be the pick with a young family wanting the whole resort experience). Had Nasi Lemak for breakfast every morning (read reviews saying avoid western breakfasts) with an iced coffee and that was delicious. All communication was via whats app so make sure you have that. Got laundry done which was overnight 3kg for about $9 - excellent.
Cons: Very little provided without asking - kitchen was totally bare only 2 cups. Have to ask for glasses, cutlery, plates etc. Also had to ask for bathrobes. These things should already be provided.
Additional info: They do also provide dinners and BBQs (not advertised on website). We went to the Plaza and ate amazing nasi goreng lunch at the daytime hawker stands . We had dinner twice at Cek Bakar which was brilliant and also at Rempah kitchen at the Four Points, also great. Warung Yeah was very average but cheap. Tidal Bar (part of Yeah group) was horrible - S$52 for 2 drinks that were disgusting. Horrible extremely loud music from 6pm (even tho the DJ set wasn't due to start till 10pm). Lagoi beach is beautiful - quite tidal though - we didn't swim but it looked clean enough to. Catching the ferry from Singapore was not straightforward - I missed some paperwork and the customs officers were not nice to us at all
- Ummi (8/5): - I love the private pool and how convenient it is to communicate with the staff via whatsapp ! There are insects in the pool and the open concept toilet, given the location. But it id easily resolved by asking the hotel staff to clean up the pool by texting the.
- Tina (10/5): My own little pool - Check in was very good. Offered a nice lemon drink & massage. I was very happy with my villa & personal pool. Pick up to and from Ferry was free, so that was a nice touch. Loved the outdoor shower & deep bath. Wish I could have stayed longer! The decking by personal pool needs to be rechecked for loose nails and felt slightly uneven.
- Ter Syuen (10/5): A warm and cozy place to have a staycation with your loved ones and friends - Chill and cozy vibe Nil
- Erma (8/5): Convenient and Comfortable Family Stay Near Plaza Lagoi - The villa was nice and clean, and it looked exactly like the photos. We were a group of four (2 adults, 1 teen, and 1 child) and had booked the Studio Suite Villa Triple. We topped up about SGD15 per night for our child - it includes breakfast for the 3 days that we stayed. Breakfast was decent. From the reviews, I was worried if there will be animals or insects coming into the villa but we experienced no such things. My kids loved the pool & bathtub. If u are bringing a small kid, do bring along a float to enjoy the pool.
The staff were friendly. Although there’s no phone in the villa, communication via WhatsApp was smooth and they responded promptly. They will forward the villa's rules & regulations, food menu, activities package, taxi services & ongoing promos to your WhatsApp.
The location is convenient — Plaza Lagoi is just across the street. While many shops were not in operation, we were still able to find basic necessities at the minimart. The beach is about a 10-minute walk away, and it’s a short 10–15 minute drive from the BBT Ferry Terminal.
All-in all, it was a good & worthy stay for me & my family. All was good.
- Tracey (7/5): good except for the monkeys, food only OK - The pool and rooms were great Monkey came in and jumped on the table while I was eating my breakfast- horrible. I advise you to have no food in the room and eat all meals out or in the restaurant
- Farah Farhana (10/5): Worth it for relaxing - Worth every penny! The layout is the same like One & Only Desaru Coast but half the price!
- Mohd Zhakhirin (10/5): Not enough - we love the day when we arrived, Bintan peoples were very nice, very humble and very polite. The real Malay - The room is spacious. The fact the room come with bathtub and pool was excellent. Really like the concept - modern and traditional Indonesian. The location was great and close to the beach, Lagoi Plaza and the rest. 10mins from Bandar Bintan Telani Ferry Terminal. The food in Kamuela is very delicious - superb. Try theirs Roti Jala, Nasi Lemak, Nasi Goreng Special, Roti Canai and all. Loved the food, the Villa, the pool, the bathtub, and the place and the peoples. Forget about all those negative comments - you and your families should try these Villas Nothing - we love it all - worth for small, medium and large families. Better grab this Villa than usual tyical hotel rooms
- Thana (3/5): - The pool was average as the tiles were coming out at the bottom which is dangerous especially for kids.
The breakfast was poor. The chicken was hard as rock. The pasta was too salty and the pizza was undercooked. We could taste the flour.
The power tripped so many times especially on the last day. Almost 4 to 5 times while drying our hair. No reply from the staff to help with the powercut after the first time.
- Goh (8/5): - I like that its quiet and i can enjoy the peace and quiet in my own space. Everyone there is very freindly and try to do the best they can. And the bed was real comfortable. I didnt like that the pool needs someone to start up the bubbler and that the toilet ceiling was leaking
- Denise (10/5): Good Stay - Top notch service, room was clean, pool was fun. Requested for birthday decorations and it was done so well. Really had a well rested weekend here.
- Tricia (10/5): would definitely return - very clean and spacious, staff are very prompt and friendly. a lot of creepy crawlies after rain but its normal considering the villa has a lot of plants. didn’t ruin the trip for us!

- Daniel (7/5): The hotel does need improvement. - Breakfast came on time. Polite staff. However, it was blend. No salt or little salt, so it was blend. Also, when I requested poached eggs, it was over cooked and came as hard boiled eggs. Not impressed.

They're very detailed and organized. Breakfast provided is fresh and tasteful. Drivers are also easy to approached.
Activities are value for money and good experience. Shower head could be fixed to provide full range of shower facilities.

The pool water not clean and wall was dirty
The pool area was with more bees and not really safe as it's open base where may invite animals and when it rain the entire place is wet and the garden area inside and outside are.not well maintain and kept clean. The breakfast was disaster and cold as they never explain why was it serve at room and not their cafe. Second day we required vegetarian olfornone person but they didn't cater well and then even replace we had doubt that they remove.the chicken and just gave curry
