- Simon Stewart BW (7/5): We enjoyed the location and the tranquility - All the meals we had were excellent, a nice variety. Well presented and ample, breakfast was plentiful. The balcony outside our room was never swept during our stay; the rain gutters were overflowing with leaves, and we felt the grounds, ponds, and bridges on the walkways could all use a bit of maintenance and TLC. The cold tap for the bad leaked water onto the floor when filling the bath. Unfortunately (not the lodge's fault), we had a group of rowdy people during dinner. These same people kept opening and closing bedroom doors during the night and talking aloud when standing in the passage - all between 22h00 and 06h00. Damn nuisance.

There is a large tree which hangs by the balcony it has wasps and we had to spray doom as we could not sit there fearing we would be stung. The waiter in the dining area could not advise as to the dinner menu as it hadn't been printed, we waiter an hour for him to get the printed menu. The bar staff also had to go looking for a cocktail menu. The bat area could do with some revamping. And a TV, pool/snooker table, darts

The entire setting is peaceful and quiet — exactly what we needed for a relaxing break away. The spa back and neck massage was pure relaxation and the perfect way to unwind. Thank you for making our anniversary so memorable. What a magical place — we will definitely be back! All was excellent :)

The staff tried hard. Built as a classy establishment, but now clearly cash strapped, which shows in the cutback of menu options. The much vaunted swimming pool was filthy and the hotel mismanaged several power outages, although it has a power generator on site. The hotel management simply ignored several messages regarding our stay.

THE PASSAGE LINKING ROOMS 16, 17, ETC ON THE FIRST FLOOR IS MADE OF WOODEN PLANKS. SO IT BECAME NOISY IN THE NIGHT WHEN THE NEIGHBORS ARRIVED BETWEEN 01:00-02:00 AT THEIR ROOM, THE LOUD SHUTTING OF DOORS, AND IT SOUNDED EARLY MORNING AS IF IN THE DOWNSTAIRS LOUNGE THE PERSONNEL WERE MOVING FURNITURE ON THE WOODEN FLOORS CAUSING GREAT NOISE. WE DIDN'T PACK EXTRA SHAMPOO AND WERE UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT (LIKE THE WATER & COFFEE STATION) THESE WOULD BE REFILLED ON DAY 2 FOR THE NEXT NIGHT, BUT UNFORTUNATELY NOT.

When we phoned to confirm our reservation , we were asked if our stay was for a special occasion . So the expectation was created that something special will be done to make us feel little bit special . Unfortunately nothing was said or done . Not even mentioned in our welcoming letter . Our reservation for the spa treatment was done more than three months in advance . On Saturday when we went to reception to confirm the treatment and time , we were told ( very casually ) that unfortunately there was a double booking and our treatment was moved to four o’ clock . Huge disappointment . We must say that the manager James went over and above to compensate us for this and we really appreciate his attitude . But surely someone should have checked and confirmed the appointment during the week . Overall our stay was very nice .
