Viviane (8/5): belle adresse - l'accueil est parfait, professionnel, un petit appel dans l'après midi pour connaitre notre heure d'arrivée. l'environnement est parfait calme, bucolique, belle proposition des espaces, la piscine très agréable (qq degrés de plus !) dommage qu'il faille ressortir pour diner - pas de proposition le soir - la chambre (dite chambre d'hôtes ?) avec une sdb vétuste, (douche, sol, sèche-cheveux) et des matelas à changer - sinon très propre le prix du petit déjeuner qui n'est pas en conformité avec la proposition (15 e) pas de chaud, pas de choix de fromages, ni de charcuteries (jambon blanc uniquement) mais l'on m'a assuré qu'un travail est en cours, la salle de pdj est superbe. quoiqu'il en soit c'est une belle adresse. nous reviendrons.

Andrew (7/5): Spectacular place to visit. - The location is simply spectacular. But that's not where you're staying for less than £90! The "annex" is some spacious but fairly basic rooms. Perfectly functional and a good night's sleep was had. A walk around the estate in the morning was worth the price on it's own. It was raining a bit so pool and bike ride round passed up on. Not an excess of towels. Something made of china for the hot drinks in the room maybe? Breakfast at E15 was in one of the chateaux's so a lot of the E15 was paid back as an quasi entry fee. The breakfast was pleasant but "basic". A toaster sitting all on it's own hoping for some action was a sad sight. There was nothing hot. Could the nice young lady boil some eggs maybe? Something above room temperature would have lifted the whole experience.

Julie (7/5): - Le cadre, la vue, le calme, l'immensité du domaine Les équipements peu modernes dans les chambres des appartements de le grand veneur. Pas de proposition de restaurant sur place le lundi, une réception qui ferme à 18h pas de possibilité de prendre un verre. Le petit déjeuner n'était pas à la hauteur du standing surtout pour le prix proposé (déjeuner basique type hotel b&b et sans œufs brouillés). Dommage le petit déjeuner ne pouvait également pas se prendre dehors car pas de table. . Dans un cadre pareil chaque détail à son importance. Dommage car le lieu est vraiment très beau mais il y reste un goût d'inachevé.

Hans (8/5): - Le cadre +++, la piscine, la taille de la chambre pivoine , le parking gratuit Le restaurant l' Anagramme dans le village voisin Les équipements minimaliste de la chambre ( aucune étagère , décoration désuète, porte serviette dans la salle de bain, la douche de qualité mais vieillissante, l'ensemble porte papier toilette et brosse qui se touchent, l'insonorisation des chambres et la porte d'entrée du bâtiment qui claque sans cesse. Lors de la réservation nous avions le choix avec deux lits simples ou un grand lit double j'ai demandé un grand lit double, demande qui a été accepté par l'établissement et on nous a collé deux petits lits simples sans surmatelas, creux au milieu.

( Ich wurde bei meine Buchung diesbezüglich nicht informiert!). Es war sehr heiß und keine Möglichkeiten das Zimmer zu kühlen. Frühstück war das Geld überhaupt nicht wert.

Craig (2/5): Suite was so bad we downgraded to a cabin. Cold pools. They only care about conferences not guests - Staff tried to help. This place looks good in photos. The suite does not have AC. The curtin was missing/broken. The kitchen has no coffee maker, microwave or oven. Only 2 plates, cups etc even though there was 4 of us in the 2 bedroom suite. Furniture was stained. The pool was cold (in summer) and only 1 sun parasol and it was broken. No pool towels. This is not a resort or a luxury accommodation. Moved to a cabin with no soap, coffee or any supplies.

François (10/5): - Le domaine d’Essendieras est magnifique et nous prenons plaisir à chaque fois que nous y retournons. Que ce soit pour le parcours 9 trous, le cours de tennis, les petits coins de pêche ou encore simplement pour profiter de la nature environnante. Les logements sont tout en simplicité, dans la rusticité typique du Périgord mais reste très confortable. Notre dernière location était au petit veneur avec une vue très très relaxante sur le jardin. Nous y reviendrons c’est certain!

We had a big family meal there and the food was exquisite… staff were excellent especially the Dutch dinner host and the French lady on reception. Old fashioned bathrooms, but it wasn’t a problem really, everything worked!

Wayne (4/5): Lovely setting, just disappointing that we were unable to fully experience it due to a private event we were not told ab - Wonderful setting (had we been able to access it, small apartment was private and adequate Shower in bath did not have a wall fixing so showering was a pain as you had to hold the head, small issue but needs sorting. However the most disappointing aspect of our stay was being told we were unable to visit / use the grounds near the main chateaux or swimming pool etc on Sunday because there was a funeral reception. We had not been told about this prior to arrival, so very disappointed.

It was hot and stuffy (no air con) There is no fridge or bin. There was a pathetic excuse for an ironing board. Flimsy paper cups to make hot drinks in. Shower was broken and there was no head board. We didn't stop for Breakfast as we upped and left as soon as we could. We would not return.

Michelle (10/5): Truly amazing - we are definitely coming back again! - We had a truly amazing stay. We stayed in one of the houses (Dorioterie) and time flew by. It was spacious, clean, modern and perfect to go with a family of 6 people. Having a private pool was also such a luxury. Every room has its own bathroom, so there’s still a lot of privacy even when you’re with a bigger group. The estate itself is so beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed an evening walk every evening, and every morning a golf session. For every interest there is something to enjoy. We were blown away by the estate, the house, the area and the services/facilities of the domain. We will be back again! Absolutely nothing!

Getting from the car to the property wasn’t good for a wheelchair user. Uneven terrain and lots of loose stones. This property did not have a walk in shower - only a bath which was deep but my husband could not get in or out easily.

Nice lunch time food and nice golf course with club hire! We all really enjoyed our stay! Only 1 Pillow and not that great. Aircon in main bed room was not very good went off thought the night. But worked well in the lounge. Aircon in up stairs bedroom was clicking all night made it difficult for my kids to sleep.

Rooms are incredibly outdated and have a strong smell of dust. Breakfast was overpriced for what they offered. No restaurant onsite and reception closes early.

We couldn't go to the pool for a quick swim as it was a very long walk. Our table and chairs outside were in very close proximity to the next door's table with no screening so not private when eating or sitting outside.

Lewis (4/5): Visually stunning but uncomfortable and inconvenient. - The location of the hotel is an issue. We luckily rented a car, however, without this we would have been in big trouble. There is access to a local supermarket, however there are no taxis and certainly not much choice when it comes to restaurants with the hotel itself not offering any food other than breakfast (which was very basic and slightly overpriced at €15). We opted for the most basic room. Please do not get me wrong where. The venue as a hotel is visually beautiful. It is incredible. However the room that we had was incredibly basic. To the point where we had paper cups. With no access to food on the property and with no fridge or local amenities we really struggled in such a basic room. If you are staying at the hotel I would highly recommend a room with cooking facilities and I would 100% recommend a big shop at the local supermarket for your basic food and drink.

florent (8/5): Cadre magnifique mais chambre à rénover - Cadre somptueux, piscine et golf bien sympatiue, en revanche mauvaise literie et chambre un peut vieillissante et dégradé (mur cassé etc) qui contraste avec la beauté du lieu.

Annabelle (10/5): Go here! - Wow what an amazing place! Had a beautiful walk in the gardens and woods. Breakfast was great. The only thing to bear in mind is the place is very old and the rooms whilst clean and comfortable do show some signs of age. We would definitely go back
