The food served in the restaurant is delicious and the service is exceptional.
- David (8/5): Traditional hotel in extensive grounds in the bustling city. - Traditional rooms.

- Jayne (9/5): A fantastic stay in quirky and beautiful hotel - Gorgeous hotel in beautiful grounds with amazingly preserved historic temples in the stunning gardens. Fantastic, large room full of original features with good tea and coffee facilities, a comfortable bed and a huge and clean bathroom. Nice food available and lovely to have afternoon tea included in the price and served in the gardens. Staff were lovely, friendly and professional. This is an amazing and unique hotel. Nothing.
- Louise (7/5): Beautiful, indepently-run hotel. - The grounds are beautiful and the staff, especially in the restaurant, were wonderful. It is quite noisy at nighttime with road noise, a nearby mosque and lots of peacocks. Just take earplugs - it’s worth it!

- Joanne (10/5): Idyllic and tranquil - An idyllic, tranquil escape from the bustle of Gwalior. All the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, it was lovely to meet Santosh who we heard about from Neemrana Fort Palace hotel. A special mention for the head waiter Rajendra too, who is such a gentleman. We explored the temples, watched the birds and mongoose and saw a fantastic display from one of the peacocks! The food is delicious and well priced and our shower was excellent! Nothing
- Mark (10/5): A perfect paradise! - Definitely stay here when visiting Gwalior! Beautiful rooms, amazing grounds (with temples!), really great restaurant and excellent breakfast. Afternoon tea included! All amazing!
- Guest (9/5): - Great atmosphere, amazing garden and silence is in heart of the husty and dusty Gwalior
- Felicity (9/5): - Wonderful garden oasiss in the city Very dreary dining room, moderate food
- Debasmita (10/5): -
- Binaifer (10/5): - The hospitality, serenity and birds especially peacocks. Specially grateful to manager Anish.
No noisy wedding celebration on the campus, unlike other hotels. Thicker and fuller curtains that cover the entire width of sun exposure
- lokwani (10/5): -
- lokwani (8/5): -
- Gajanana (9/5): -
- Omkar (10/5): Felt Royal - Food was really amazing. All meals were freshly made, hot and tasty.
Hospitality was amazing. Staff was great, also helped us to arrange cabs for us.
Rooms are clean, spacious and nicely made.
Overall, it's a lovely property to also walk around and explore. There's nothing much to do in the surroundings post sunset. So best is to plan and enjoy the property and hospitality.
- Mari (10/5): A great place to stay - staff kind and most helpful - we were very pleased to have chosen this hote - The location was very good - near the sights but set in its own very well kept peaceful grounds with temples . Breakfast and dinner both also excelkent with fresh ingredients and welcome tea and snacks provided in the garden between 5 and 6 pm Nothing
- Nicolas (9/5): - The team, the cooks, the beauty and calm of the place.
- Offbeat Explorers (10/5): -
- James (8/5): - The buildings Overcharged for vehicle to Bharatpur
- Ian (10/5): - Beautiful setting within lovely well-kept gardens in an historic location. High tea in the garden was a relaxing experience after a busy day exploring. Food and service in the restaurant was excellent.
- Raffaela (10/5): Génial. - Tout Rien
- David (9/5): a fantastic stay in an exceptional location with a welcoming manager and staff - The place itself is superb and surprising. Previously was a residence of the Gwalior royal family. It is set in beautiful gardens with peacocks everywhere. Not only that it has its own temples and mausoleums. Fantastic! Also complimentary afternoon train the lawn. The staff and manager are not only kind and helpful but also efficient. Finally the hotel restaurant is really really good! Nothing
- Ian (10/5): Magnificent! - Loved everything. What a privilege to stay n such a historic location. 15c and 17c buildings situated in grand gardens below the Fort with peacocks strutting around. Included afternoon tea on the sweeping lawns a particular treat. Several magnificent private temples are in the grounds and free to visit. Food was nice. Comfortable beds. Hot water. Good help with cars and onward travel . Private terrace ...just wonderful....now planning to stay at other historic hotels in India renovated by the same company. Wi Fi could have been stronger. The description of the rooms don't always match the reality. Probably because each room is unique. Also no beer available..
- Sarju (10/5): -
- Andrea (8/5): Unique 15th-century location surrounded by nature - Amazing location in a 15th-century historic property, surrounded by nature and temples
Very peaceful and atmospheric setting
Afternoon tea offered between 5:00 and 6:00 pm with local food
Beautiful experience with peacocks released in the garden
Very kind, helpful, and courteous staff Hot water boiler is limited, so hot water runs out quickly
Rooms can be cold, even though an electric heater is provided
- Nathan (10/5): - Amazing stay
- Xu (8/5): Excellent stay - Quiet place with historical buildings Shower water run cold quickly
- Silas (10/5): Overall Excellent stay experience - Breakfast was sumptuous with several varieties and garden procured fresh juice Everything was lovely
Sehr empfehlenswert!
- Molly (10/5): magical get away in Gwalior - It's even more magical than the photos. The beds were comfy, the entire room is beautiful. We especially enjoyed their breakfast buffet. I would recommend staying for a minimum of 3 nights because 2 was not enough. However, we were done with Gwalior in 1 day. it's very far away from the train station and from attractions so beware that you will absolutely need to get a car or tuktuk to the property. The air pollution in Gwalior is also much stronger than Agra but a N95 mask really helps.
- Dhanoa (7/5): Enjoyed our stay overall. - Love the lawn area - the openness, excellent staff service Observations: hot water was not readily available. There was a bucket in the bathroom with no stool to sit on.
- SeattleGuy (7/5): It was a pleasant stay in Gwalior - It is a nice heritage property. The exteriors and grounds are kept very well inside the property grounds. The rooms could certainly do with a little bit of upgrade in terms of furnishings, toiletries.
The staff is fantastic and I love that they have a common tip-box.
- Manjul N (9/5): Good stay and will stay their again. - The Hotel interior is excellent. The approach road is a let down. With little investment they can make the approach of much better quality.
The main chef at Deo Bagh is excellent. The food had right amount of spices, less chilly, and very authentic taste. The food was high point.
The wait staff needs training.
The room rent was high for Gwalior but the fat Indian weddings are probably taking away the joy of tourism. Initially they had tried to palm off poor quality of room and only on complaining they gave a better room where it was more enjoyable stay.
Rien.
- Peter (10/5): - Absolutely beautiful location and wonderful staff. Thank you so much for your lovely hospitality. Was the best in all our stays in seven weeks of Indian hotels. Nothing. It was all lovely
- Cristina (9/5): An oasis in the chaos - It seemed like an oasis in the middle of all the city chaos but on the second night there was a party nearby and it was very noisy. Complimentary tea was super nice, restaurant good but I've eaten better Indian food. Staff was amazing, gardens beautiful for walks Nothing as the music wasn't their fault
- Cristina (9/5): - Precioso espacio Entrada complicada
- Jeevan (6/5): - Vary vast open area
They have to keep local site seen visit information details of Gwalior
Better entry and road can be
- PG (9/5): - The property is just beautiful. We wish we had spent more time there to enjoy the beautiful spaces. Take a walk around all the little nooks that surprise you. And don't miss the grapefruit trees!
The food was outstanding - we had both dinner and breakfast at the property and the care, attention to detail and the warmth of our service was really outstanding. We had some minor issues with plumbing in one room. They tried to fix it when we complained.
- BOUY (10/5): So charming - Calme des lieux. Hi tea offert dans le parc. Charme total.
- Andrew (8/5): Lovely heritage style property. - Beautiful buildings and garden. Room was lovely, when we were finally given the room we had booked. On Arrival our booked category of room was not available and we were given a gloomy dark room next to the restaurant. The next day we were moved to a lovely room , of the style we had booked, with big windows overlooking the garden and a nice outside seating area. Shame that they were unable to honour our booking for the first night of our stay!
- Yeshwanti (10/5): Beautiful surroundings, quite magical - The most beautiful heritage property looked after with love and care by the family. Staff were helpful, attentive, and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. Would go again any time! Be prepared to be woken every morning by very noisy peacocks!
- Atul (8/5): Beautiful, green, historic and comfy stay in Gwalior with a history !! - Great serene property with a history and nice comfortable room, and great food at the restaurant… worth a visit when you see in Gwalior !! Access road could improve
- Cristina Padma (10/5): - After many high-speed, extraordinary experiences, I found myself in a place of tenderness.
I knew the world was still out there, but inside that space, it could wait.
Time to ease my mind felt so welcome — thank you for that experience of peace.
There, you could breathe history, religion, nature — surrounded by wonderful trees, birds, scents, and beauty. Everything was perfect.
- Sukanya (8/5): - I liked the cleanliness, the friendliness of the staff and the food experience. The doors of the rooms where we were put up at were warped and didn't shut properly which was a concern as the surroundings were wild and overgrown. So once or twice we had the experience of wild lizards get into the room which couldn't be chased away inspite of the efforts of housekeeping. The approach road to the property is a mud road which was slushy because of recent rains and the lawns and Gardens of the property were overgrown and wild, which made it a bit disconcerting to be outdoors after dark.
- Tim (10/5): - You feel the history of this place. The personnel are very friendly and helpful.
- Annette Tabea (9/5): -
- Jaya (9/5): -
- Theofilos (10/5): Great place and value for money - Great concept of older premises becoming a hotel, peacocks and old temples within the great garden - very helpful staff, everything works, food and service in the restaurant was v good In the room we were there was a lot of noise from a nearby wedding but that was o off
- Paras Mohan (10/5): - The ambience and peacocks The way to hotel is not proper. Need a good road to be developed.
- manocha (10/5): -
- Nar (10/5): -
- Raffaele (10/5): - Tea time and Breakfast included.
Excellent quality .
Wonderful place .
- George (10/5): Wonderful - Warmth and old world charm People peacocks and the heritage
- Preeti (9/5): The facilities, staff & peacocks make the stay spectacular. Staying amidst piece of history was incredible! - The facilities, staff & peacocks make the stay spectacular. Staying amidst piece of history was incredible!
- George (10/5): Awesome - Fantastic People and setting. This trip o stayed there three times
- AMIT (6/5): -
- Agarwal (7/5): -
- Saurabh (5/5): Mixed - Good staff
Not so good guards Let some one call me
- Elke (2/5): - The bathroom was filled with a previous person’s hair. I asked to clean it and left the room for the cleaner’s convenience for one hour, but upon my return, the bathroom was still dirty. They suggested that we changed room so I had to pack up again my stuff. It was nearly impossible to leave the hotel because there was mud everywhere. The mud was piled up in front of the gate by their own staff. I had to get out of the car and call reception several times before some poor staffer came out and tried to remove the huge pile of dirt. We were the only guests at the time so the restaurant didn’t prepare the regular breakfast.
- Bajirao (7/5): Good -
- Renuka (9/5): It was a lovely, relaxing and peaceful stay close to nature and yet in the heart of the city. - Excellent breakfast - service was v good too. Quality of food was also good specially the Chinese. You could have a bar at the hotel for inhouse guests only
- Vibhu (7/5): Good fun for a couple of days. Staff is dedicated and happy to offer service. - The single level dwelling units, mostly independent and with double entrances with private verandas were surprisingly nice. Location and entrance was a bit low key. The outside areas of parking and approach were too dry and brown.
- Jaspreet (9/5): Hoping to visit again in the future sometime! - The property is conveniently located near all major attractions yet is secluded enough to offer peace and quiet. The staff is very cordial and friendly. We loved visiting the temple and exploring the beautifully carved chattris that stood in the hotel compound itself.
- Ravindran (9/5): Superb -
- Alessandra (10/5): Great stay in Gwalior - We loved the gardens and the beautiful temples. The room was spacious and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed evening high tea in the garden. Breakfast and dinner were good. We appreciated the idea of leaving the tip at the the end of our stay
- Malhotra (9/5): Looking forward to returning. - Heritage property in the heart of Gwalior with huge rooms overlooking a large lawn. Two charming temples and a number of birds that have all but vanished from our cities, add to the charm of Deo Bagh. Would love to return. The constructions coming up along the boundary wall of Deo Bagh are an eyesore.
- Carlos (8/5): A Hidden Gem with Magical Vibes - This hotel feels like a secret garden straight out of a movie. There are beautiful temples within its walls that give the whole place a peaceful, almost magical atmosphere. A nice touch is seeing all the peacocks wandering around.
The staff are friendly and welcoming.
- Pratisha (10/5): It was great ! - Excellent service and atmosphere No room service for snacks / lunch / dinner
- Ravindran (8/5): Will Be Back - The attentive staff, always ready to help out ! Stayed here the 2nd time. Great Location and easily accessible.
- Bhargava (7/5): Good - Food, beds, gardens The bathrooms where shower pressure was very less and water was not hot
- Anil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pkbraja (9/5): Excellent food - Heritage Property with greenery all around. Fragrance of fresh flowers of Jasmine n Rose was so exotic and made our day.
- Amanda (8/5): charming, quirky, heritage hotel friendly and lovely gardens close to some wonderful things to see. - It's a quirky, old fashioned place. We were lucky to stay in two of the upstairs heritage rooms but that meant climbing a tall, thin stairwell. One room had two twins that made sleeping together as a couple difficult. Buy a big mattress! The other was lovely and charming as was the first but the hot water situation wasn't great. The gardens are lovely. The outdoor tea on the lawn while limited was charming. The food at the restaurant at night not good for us. At breakfast they were willing to accommodate me and put out sautéed vegetables and that was lovely. Anish at the front desk is a charming and sweet person. I love the look of this hotel a lot but it could use a little work like fixing the shower to keep the hot water flowing. The pillows were great. Loved the birds and the peacocks on the lawn. Exploring the Gwalior fort and some amazing surrounding temples was wonderful. The hot water in the heritage rooms. The dinner at the restaurant.
- Harish (10/5): Loved our stay - Beautiful Heritage Property. Though the Buffet was a good spread, some of the dishes lacked taste viz. Thai Curry, Chicken Curry... Dal, Naan, Soup, Salads were very good. It may have been purposely made bland to suit the taste of overseas guests. But the chef / staff could recommend differently for Indian guests Buffet could have been better
- Shrey (9/5): Superb - The heritage feel of the property No TV in the room
- Calvin (10/5): An Oasis - An oasis in the city. Good hospitality. Beautiful setting with a well-maintained garden and historical buildings. We loved the birds singing in the garden. The setting of the room was like a little cottage with a front porch facing the garden. Both breakfast and dinner that we had in the restaurant were incredible. A comfortable stay after a day of sightseeing!
- John (9/5): Superb - Everything was great with a beautiful garden setting. Food was good with an exceptional breakfast. Staff were helpful and polite.
High tea on the lawn was very pleasant. The bed had a large spung mattress but was too firm for us. Softer springing would have made for a more comfotable nights sleep
- Priya (10/5): A royal stay - Heritage, well maintained, great staff
- Priya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shreekant (10/5): Beautiful vacation. - Beautiful property. We could see many peacocks in the lawn and on the trees. The food quality and variety were excellent. The staff is very well trained and polite. I would name a few people from the restaurant - Chef Naresh and Narayan. Other staff member Ajit Parmar and one more his colleague.
They have one good system of serving high tea in the sprawling lawn at 5.00 PM everyday. We had cookies, sandwiches, cakes and pakodas. We really enjoyed this. None to state.
- Umesh (6/5): Didnt feel it was value for money. Overhyped. Better places in Gwalior. - Big property. nice green area all around. Overall experience not too good. Staff was very very nice. They had coffee making machine in room but no pods. Upon asking at checkout they told that you have to ask for it. No mention in room.
- Ravi (9/5): A really comfortable stay in an open and neat place. - Location is not very central but a sprawling property with lots of open space was more desirable than just the location. This property is very nice for a laid back holiday where you can relax and enjoy their good hospitality. The spread for breakfast is wide and ranging from continental to Indian and the alacarte menu is also decent. The quality of food preparation is commendable. Cant say negative of any feature, during my stay
- Sudhir (5/5): Just okay - Heritage property Beds were too high and noisy and fear of fall was always there.
Price was too high.
