Guest Reviews
- Rachall (10/5): - I loved the atmosphere. The way the caretaker took care of us was amazing. The food was amazing. The way they made you feel at home and cared for you and your stay honestly will be the reason I go back more. Loved everything.
- A6375QQkayr (10/5): Delightful Stay at Stewart Inn - My husband and I spent one night at the Stewart Inn recently. As first time guests of the Stewart Inn and overall atmosphere of a bed and breakfast, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Communication was transparent. We were greeted warmly at the door by Randy and after initial introductions and conversation, we received a brief overview/tour of this exquisite home. So beautiful! We stayed in the Sheldon room. It had a king size bed, fireplace, steam shower, and beautiful windows/sink in the bathroom. I loved that a yoga mat was provided in the closet. The room was spacious, and timing allowed for a brief yoga session. (My husband valued the fan that was provided, also in the closet, because he likes the hum of the noise for sleeping.) We enjoyed the three course breakfast made by Randy which began at 8:30 AM. We were especially appreciative of the quality suggestions Randy made for places to eat and get a drink. The location was perfect for downtown Wausau activities, all easily accessible to walk to, including the GrandTheatre. We would be delighted to come back and stay again if we are in the area.
- Daydream06373421449 (10/5): Architectural Gem - This was truly an extraordinary experience! I was simply looking for lodging in downtown Wausau, and stumbled upon this architectural gem. It's so nice to know that this B&B exists, and that the building itself is not just maintained, but used to such stunning effect.
- Departure33956542900 (10/5): Super special place to stay - No brainer to stay here. It is so beautiful. Famous architect George Maher designed this home for a lumber magnate and now you can enjoy it. Beautiful woodwork and stained glass throughout and some nice common area spots to relax with folks. Rooms are lovely with steam showers. And absolutely delicious breakfast is included with super friendly innkeeper. You will not be disappointed. Good for work or pleasure trip. Very close to art museum and great outdoor activities not too far.
- Fay (10/5): We will be back - What an amazing place. Loved the special touch with a hand written letter to welcome us
- brianhZ3571AA (10/5): Phenomenal Experience - Excellent 5 Star Experience. I was in town to visit my mom in hospice. Even though it was a short visit, it was an awesome experience. A very knowledgeable, gracious, and compassionate host that went above and beyond to ensure a top-notch experience. Looking forward to visiting again with my wife under happier circumstances. Thank you!
- B511GMdebf (10/5): Top notch Bed and Breakfast - The Stewart Inn is wonderful! Randy is a most gracious and interesting host. The place is stunning and we felt very welcomed and comfortable. The breakfasts were top notch and we looked forward to them every morning. There are some wonderful art museums that are free to the public. In Wausau. Many places are within walking distance of the inn. The Leigh Yawkey Woodson had an incredible Tiffany exhibit. We can’t wait until our next stay and would highly recommend it to anyone!
- J1409GKemilyh (10/5): Great, quiet stay for couples - We stayed one night during the week arriving a bit late. The host was there to greet us and offered suggestions for dinner. There was a big snowstorm the day before and they had already called ahead to ensure they were open.
Breakfast the next morning was great. Fresh ingredients and open to any dietary restrictions, if needed.
Overall, a very pleasant experience and will definitely return.
- gkeiths (10/5): Can't Wait for Our Return Visit - Our third time at Stewart Inn and can't wait for the fourth. Great host, beautiful home, comfortable bedroom and a good breakfast. Always a treat.
- christianpC6214SV (10/5): Perfect Experience - The room was charming and impeccably clean. I enjoyed a hot steam shower in the morning before sitting down to a delicious three-course breakfast. The innkeeper was engaging, offering plenty of recommendations along with delightful conversation. The stay was thoroughly enjoyable, and I will certainly return the next time I’m in Wausau.
- ceolgeek (10/5): Highly recommend - The Stewart Inn is a lovely place to stay, and the breakfasts are always amazing. Highly recommend!
- Marge7168 (10/5): A perfect retreat - We stayed one night. Upon arrival we were greeted very warmly and shown around this beautiful home and then shown to our room, the Sheldon Room; with a warm fireplace, a sitting area and king bed we knew we would be comfortable. We enjoyed a wine reception in the early evening where we were able to get acquainted with other guests. The breakfast experience was amazing as our host prepared everything from scratch with top notch ingredients. We will definitely return and have already spread the word to friends and family how much we love the Stewart Inn!
- allyj444 (10/5): Fantastic stay!! - We felt right at home. This is a beautiful historical house with great hospitality. Private, relaxing, clean, and delicious food!
- dawnlV8593WP (10/5): Best place to stay in Wausau!!! - Such a welcoming place, excellent food, excellent rooms, VERY clean, absolutely delicious breakfast (Randy made gluten free for me) every morning - we were full all day (we go to Wausau for skiing at Granite Peak) and their resident greeter (Buster) is the sweetest dog ever!!! He is so friendly and gives kisses, too!!!
- Casey (10/5): -
- emilyrV4287EK (10/5): Spoiled in Wausau - The Inn is immaculate! This was our second stay. They have paid attention to all the right details to create a laid back and welcoming atmosphere in a historical building. The hosts make you feel at home and prepare a delicious breakfast with a fine dining touch.
- caroldL4017ON (6/5): Not the same the second time - This is our second stay at the Stewart Inn….not sure if we will return. The owner/host was not on premise for our second stay. It’s a beautiful and interesting building close to several nice dining places within walking distance
The breakfast wasn’t as good the second time, rather rushed and we were seated away from the other guests.
- Jeff (8/5): -
- 760deborahm (10/5): Wonderful! - The Stewart Inn is a museum in itself. The owners are very gracious and friendly. The breakfast is always a treat. We enjoy chatting with the other guests over wine in the afternoon and breakfast in the morning. The inn is in a great location - easy to walk to the theater.
- Marney (10/5): -
- Holly (10/5): -
- Katherine (10/5): Easy, friendly and charming - Fabulous! So friendly and what a charming place. The bedrooms were gorgeous and comfortable. It was also super close to the downtown area.
- David (10/5): -
- Cheryl (10/5): Extraordinary - The host was informative, friendly, and a delight!
- Peaceoftime (10/5): Couldnt ask for anything better. - Our host was welcoming and offered great suggestions about the area. The house is beautiful. The room was incredibly comfortable and the food was delicious!
- Ann (10/5): A perfect get-away in Wausau. - Everything was lovely. The house is stunning. The host is so welcoming. Would absolutely recommend The Stewart Inn.
- maureen (10/5): Just like home... if your parents were rich and cared for you. - The breakfast was amazing. And the location was perfect for walking. I wished there was a tub but the steam shower was amazing.
- I203IOlindaj (10/5): Second family home - The Stewart Inn is our second family home for the Christmas holiday - welcoming, festive, and delicious leisurely breakfasts!
- Plainstravellors (10/5): Third Street Lofts Christmas retreat - We stayed at the 3rd Steet Lofts for Christmas 2025. It is a great place and was perfect for our trip. The location is ideal. When walking out the front door, you are steps from many great shops, restaurants, and bars in Downtown Wausau. The loft is as large as advertised. We were able to have nice family gatherings for Christmas eve/Christmas day with plenty of room to spread out and relax. The kitchen is very well stocked with nice kitchen equipment, appliances, and dishware perfect for making meals for our family. The unit is quiet, perfect for a relaxing week. Wifi worked well, handy for a couple family members who had to work during the week. There is one covered parking space in a private, one car garage.
The only negatives: This is a two bedroom, one bathroom unit, so we had several people negotiating for bathroom time. It was keyless entry, which is nice, but the front door keypad has a couple numbers that don't work well. That made it a little tricky to get in/out. We ended up going in/out of the garage most of the time.
Overall, the plusses very far outweighed the few minuses. We will most likely try to stay there again when visiting Wausau.
- staceyhH9571AD (10/5): Fabulous B&B! - My husband and I found this hidden gem in Wausau after doing a quick google search. We loved it! The house was beautiful, exceptionally clean and the hospitality was wonderful. We would definitely stay again!
- Inspire16795610983 (10/5): Five Stars From a 12-Year-Old Who Loved It - The Stewart Inn was AMAZING. This was one of the best B&Bs I’ve ever stayed at. Everything was awesome, especially the food. Mr. Randy is one of the nicest hosts I’ve ever met. He asked what kinds of food we liked and then made us the most delicious breakfast ever — biscuits and gravy, which I LOVE so much. It was honestly one of my favorite parts of the trip.
Mr. Randy even brought an extra bed for me so I wouldn’t have to share with my sister, and it was super comfy. That made me really happy 😊 My sister and I also loved his dog, Bustter (Bustter Brown!). He was so sweet, and we loved seeing him at breakfast. All the guests were really friendly, and it was fun meeting everyone in the mornings — especially Bustter.
Mr. Randy also gave our family great recommendations for things to do and places to eat in town. We went to an awesome Indian restaurant and an Italian restaurant where I got to eat oysters, a delicious meatball, and the BEST pork chop we’ve ever had.
During the day, my sister and I went skiing at Granite Peak and had so much fun, while our parents went to museums and explored the town. It was the perfect trip.
This was one of the nicest places we’ve ever stayed, and I can’t wait to come back to the Stewart Inn!
- 310curtn (10/5): A wonderful stay - It was a great experience from a nice reception when we arrived to our check out. The house itself is beautiful and is very welcoming. Our room was delightful and very comfortable. Breakfast was great and set us up for the day! Really did not have to eat lunch. It was nice to eat with other guests. The whole experience was great.
- F2953VPmatts (10/5): Amazing place! - Had a great time. The host, Randy, was very inviting. He was able to direct us to the best spot to get food in a hurry before our show started just down the street at the theater. Was very knowledgeable of local business and our options. The inn was clean and so interesting. In the morning breakfast was an adventure. Fresh squeezed pineapple juice? Yes please!! I only regret not taking photos.
- 923kurtm (10/5): I will be back! - Not my first stay here nor my last. In downtown, walk-able to restaurants, entertainment and, in my case, business offices. Beautiful building, well maintained and furnished, comfortable beds and great breakfasts. The rooms are immaculately clean and the owners are onsite and very helpful and non-intrusive! The beds are comfortable and parking free. Highly recommended if you stay in Wausau, Wisconsin.
- paca90 (10/5): Comfortable and Convenient - We stayed in the Sheldon Room. The bed and linens were amazing! This B&B has so much character and beautiful woodwork and original lighting. The fireplace in our room was a much-added touch since it was below zero this past weekend. Randy is the best Inn Keeper and breakfast Saturday was so good! Marie and Mike provided our Sunday breakfast, another amazing meal. Both mornings, the breakfast were gourmet meals! Stewart Inn provides some great amenities, more than I anticipated. I highly recommend this home. We were within walking distance to restaurants, a great winery and a unique speakeasy lounge. I am so happy we did the wine reception Friday night and spoke with Randy and other ladies staying at the Inn. After hearing about the local museum, we added the museum to our Saturday schedule. Randy also had some excellent recommendations for local restaurants.
- Priscilla (10/5): Our stay was perfect. We'll be back. - This historical home was exceptionally comfortable, beautifully maintained with high quality linens, fantastic hosts, extraordinary 3-course breakfast and amenities such as an afternoon wine tasting. Conveniently located to restaurants and shopping. We loved EVERYTHING about The Stewart Inn. Everything was perfect. Not one complaint!
- O3128IFannas (10/5): Fantastic experience. A refreshing break. - Stewart Inn is gorgeous. The breakfasts are fantastic and the wine reception was a hoot. The building itself is museum quality, but somehow the atmosphere is cozy. My wife and I stayed for three days and we were not at all disappointed. Our room was large and very clean. I don't know what kind of mattresses they have but I slept like a log. The location is excellent if you are looking to spend some time in downtown Wausau - it's walking distance to downtown restaurants and shopping as well as the river walk. Our host Randy was kind and informative.
- O7296BVmarkm (10/5): Excellent place that we will be coming back to! - Such a great experience. Randy was very helpful and was full of great recommendations. Accommodations were excellent and the breakfast provided was a wonderful experience.
- N6924JOkevinl (10/5): Another Amazing Time! - The Stewart Inn was Amazing as ALWAYS! We have been there over 20 times in 7 years, and Always 5 Star! Randy is Awesome, and so accommidating. The breakfast's are above 5 Star. We will continue to go to the Stewart Inn every year! Thanks Randy!
- O6587EPdanj (10/5): You can't top this place. - This is the finest lodging we have ever experienced. A knowledgeable host (as well as being a fine chef), beautiful in every aspect, great. comfortable rooms. We extended our stay just to experience the place for another 24 hours. And a host dog that spent quality time with us.
- 338leslieo (10/5): Comfortable, accommodating, quiet. - Wonderful , quiet spot. Great breakfast! Parking! Inn keeper took great care of everyone and made our stay great! I would recommend this spot!
- KittyMRibLake (10/5): Best B & B I have EVER stayed at!!!!! 5 stars isn’t enough - The Stewart is pure magic! It’s located within walking distance of all the downtown action and great restaurants. You walk in the doorway and wander through the magnificent arts and crafts home, complete with polished woodwork, stained glass and a fireplace to sit in front of . THEN you go up the rooms which are breathtaking. I stayed in the Sheldon which is a lot bigger than my bedroom at home. But it’s comfy, cozy. Wonderful bed, the decor was charming, private bath with STEAM shower and a lovely fireplace to sit in front of while reading myself to sleep. Best part of the experience was Randy, the proud owner. He cooked a fabulous breakfast with 3 courses, pancakes were awesome, and a turkey with Gouda cheese sausage. I treated myself to this stay to celebrate my birthday. But I can’t wait to find another excuse to stay there again. I would award 10 stars PLUS to this fine establishment. And another 10 to Randy who was the best host I’ve ever met.
- lauriehO4203XY (10/5): Amazing Historic Inn - This is a must stay if you enjoy mission style architecture and love historic homes. Comfortable well appointed rooms, amazing breakfast and an accommodating host made our stay at the Stewart Inn most enjoyable! Highly recommend!
- Shelia (10/5): Step into an elegant bygone era and enjoy and elegant historic home within walking distance of the best of Wausau. - The property is a lovely historic home. Beautiful details . Elegant yet cozy.Exceptional staff. Marvelous breakfast . The parking is tight but convenient.
- mcgraw (10/5): -
- T1089TCjennifera (10/5): A Gem - The historically and beautifully appointed Inn, located within walking distance to delicious restaurants and locally owned shops and art galleries, hospitality comparable to none, scrumptious breakfasts, thoughtful conversations with Randy, the owner and fellow guests. Who could ask for more?
We stayed for three nights and would recommend you do also. That way, you have time to take in the area and end your day at the Inn and a glass of wine by the fire hosted by Randy.
- jerrysM1710KH (10/5): Great BnB!! - Great “Arts and Craft” house with Randy, the friendliest of hosts with great museum and dinner recommendations. And breakfast was wonderful.
- andrewh791 (10/5): Comfort galore at the Stewart Inn - Randy and Sara are wonderful hosts. The Stewart Inn is outstanding and one of the most comfortable Inn's that my wife and I have ever stayed in. Not only is the setting beautiful, warm and enjoyable our hosts provided the ultimate in customer service making our stay one of most memorable in our travels. The cherry on top is Buster Brown their four legged greeter and therapy dog, woof woof!
- Luckey (10/5): -
- R6287MNjillk (10/5): Awed and Enchanted - I love historic inns, but unfortunately, many have the misfortune of being underloved and underappreciated. They're worn and tired, often because of lack of funding or maintenance expertise. NOT the case with the Stewart Inn! This arts-and-crafts gem feels as fresh, inviting, and grand as I imagine it felt in 1906, when it was completed. SO well maintained. So open, clean, and well-appointed. Gorgeous original woodwork, stained glass windows, a jaw-dropping mosaic fireplace ... Our hosts were genuine and gracious, the breakfast was delicious and made with care, and we wanted for nothing in our quiet, comfortable room (the Sheldon). Tucked in a fairly quiet residential area, the Stewart Inn is easy to find, offers ample off-street parking, and is a short, level walk to downtown restaurants. Well worth the cost. One night wasn't enough, though; next time, we're staying two. You will feel special here!
- 142donz (10/5): A-1! - Second year in a row staying at the Stewart Inn. Never disappoints. From the comfortable rooms to the daily 3 course breakfasts always a treat. Plenty of eating establishments and shops within walking distance from the inn. Continue to be our yearly go to.
- pamh817 (10/5): exceptional experience - our stay at the stewart inn was exceptional! everything from the personal check in to the amazing house to the intimate wine reception to the most delicious breakfast!
- Goducks28 (10/5): Experience the Stewart Inn - Our visit to the Stewart Inn was spectacular! Our host, Randy, was beyond helpful. Our room was beautiful, the bed was super comfortable and our breakfast was gourmet. We would highly recommend the Stewart Inn!
- Michael (10/5): A Great Wausau Inn - The Stewart Inn was an outstanding place to stay. Randy, the owner of the inn, did an exceptional job hosting our stay here. He warmly greeted us at the door, and he graciously gave us an upgrade to our room at the beginning of our stay. The whole inn is beautifully decorated and furnished as it might have been during the early 1900's. All-in-all, it is a very comfortable and quiet place to stay and relax. In addition, it is in walking distance to some fine dining restaurants and tourist attractions. This is a great place to stay at if you plan on spending some time in the Wausau area.
- gkeiths (10/5): Wonderful Experience - This was our second experience at Stewart Inn and once again, we were not disappointed. Randy is a knowledgeable and gracious host. The home is beautiful, well appointed and within walking distance of some good restaurants. My wife misplaced her glasses and looking around the room, under the bed and in various crevices, we both remarked on the cleanliness of the floors, furniture, etc. No dust. The two breakfasts were excellent. In fact, our only concern was the quantity of food. There was no need for lunch after Randy's wonderful breakfasts. Highly recommend Stewart Inn. We will definitely return in the future.
- Alene (10/5): Quiet, comfortable convenient friendly with authoc Frank Lloyd Wright furniture - I give the steward hotel a 5, especially the hosts. A gourmet breakfast. Quiet & very special.
Period furniture for Frank Lloyd Wright.
A gourmet breakfast.
- T2580NYsusans (10/5): Our children gifted us the stay for our anniversary - Wonderful way to spend our 56 wedding anniversary. Beautiful home. We enjoyed meeting the other guests for wine and a delicious breakfast
- Sara (10/5): -
- I452SHrobertg (10/5): A beautifully historic inn that is a home away from home - This was our second visit to the Stewart Inn and it did not disappoint. The Inn itself is an absolutely beautiful example of the Prairie School architectural movement... The woodwork, furniture, windows, pottery, and that fireplace!! The Inn is walking distance to downtown shops and restaurants and there is plenty to do in the area. Randy and his staff are OUTSTANDING... From the first greeting at the door and personal tour of the accommodations, to the wine social at 5pm, through the three-course gourmet breakfast in the morning and recommendations on things to do in the area, they have your comfort and well-being in mind. We most highly recommend The Stewart Inn in Wausau as well as any other property Randy is associated with. We WILL be back!!
- Bonnie (10/5): - This property is immaculately maintained. Very comfortable bed, linens, bath. Best part was the delicious breakfast. Will definitely visit again.
- gailsM1992CG (10/5): Highly Recommend! - Our stay at the Stewart Inn was absolutely wonderful. The room was beautiful and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was awesome. The location is perfect. We definitely look forward to another visit.
- Mary (10/5): - Beautiful historic home in perfect condition. Breakfast was delicious. Lots of thoughtful extras.
We loved our stay.
- Margie (10/5): Wonderful experience - Beautifully maintained, comfortable, and our hosts were wonderful!
- jodellelund (10/5): Beautiful bed and breakfast - This was our second time staying at The Stewart Inn. It’s an absolutely beautiful home! The rooms are each unique and very comfortable. The breakfast is amazing. Randy and Sarah are wonderful hosts, and when they have to be gone, Mike and Marie fill in. We have been there with both. - 103leesaw (10/5): Wonderful Wausau Surprises - The Stewart Inn was a lovely surprise we stumbled across on a one night stay in Wausau. The welcoming staff, beautiful building, comfortable bed and excellent breakfast made this the highlight of our trip. Just a short walk to downtown and easy parking were a plus. We visited the Monk Botanical Garden and the Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, both free, are also worth checking out.

Randy was a wonderful host filled with endless recommendations for the area (all which were great recommendations, especially the restaurants). Wausau is a wonderful town filled with much to do and fabulous food to eat in the area! We will be returning home as a walking advertisement for the Stewart Inn! If you’re thinking about booking, do it!
- ScenicSights (10/5): Lovely night in Wausau - The location is excellent - downtown and in walking distance to restaurants, the town square, shops, etc. It's a very lovely building. Charming, comfortable and large. My room was very nice. Wine in the evening and breakfast were excellent. The people I met were the cherry on top. Responsive and thoughtful host. I wish I had had more time.

This was my second stay there and it is a very special place. The inn itself is beautiful.
The architecture is breathtaking. Every detail is amazing. My room was outstanding, Luxury sheets and pillows. Even a claw foot bathtub!
Randy the innkeeper was so nice , and serves a gourmet breakfast every morning.
Being that there are only 4 rooms, you meet the most interesting people.
Can't think of any place I would rather stay than The Stewart Inn.
- jtmjlm (10/5): Attentive to small details - This is a lovely bed and breakfast. Randy is very attentive to small details. The wine welcome hour at check-in was a great start to our stay. He adjusted the time breakfast is usually served because we had to leave early (and that breakfast was delicious)! Our room was beautiful and very clean. There is even a friendly dog that greats guests. We will definitely stay here again when in town.

- 719pegc (10/5): Excellent Experience - Pretty house, and great breakfast but best of all were the hosts and the location! Pay attention to the shower instructions because it's a bit non-intuitive. Sweet dog named Buster. Stay in number 4 and you will have a balcony to yourself! We were concerned that the bed seemed smaller than expected, but it was fine. Wausau surprised us as nicer than we expected.

- Passport16976840386 (10/5): Wonderful Wausau Weekend - Amazing Hospitality provided. Creative workmanship of Arts and Crafts architectural details are found throughout this house. The three course breakfast selections were both sweet and savory, made with local and unique offerings. Loved having a friendly dog to greet us! My husband already wants to go back!
- chrisaK4343RW (10/5): Extra Wonderful Place to Stay! - The Inn is beautiful and that's the main reason I booked the room. I then was blown away by the customer service and 3 course breakfast. Beds and pillows were so comfy and the steam shower was amazing. I was sad to leave and I hope I can come back soon.
- keitht683 (10/5): Definitely going back - Very private cabin in the woods. Very relaxing atmosphere for a couple’s getaway. Everything you need is provided for inside. Lots of windows let an abundance of natural sunlight in. The bathroom is spa like. The furniture is comfortable and stylish.

- davidgV2942VI (10/5): A Stellar Experience- Always! - This was my 8th visit. I always receive super friendly service, a gourmet quality breakfast and wonderfully appointed rooms that include a comfy bed with high quality linens. The bathrobes are soft and always appear to be out-of-the package new. Buster the dog is the icing on the cake!
- stevenvV2094IJ (10/5): Passionate intentionality pursuing perfection - Passionate intentionality pursuing perfection – that’s the best way to describe our recent visit to the Stewart Inn in Wausau.
From the moment I first connected with Randy to check availability, to his gracious and warm greeting at the front door and through to our last good-bye, it was evident that his goal was to make our stay a memorable one. He succeeded in his objective far beyond our already high expectations. The public areas, our room with all the attention to details, not to mention the amazing 3 course healthy and delicious breakfast, all added to a most enjoyable time.
There are many reasons people own B&B’s. We just came from one the previous evening that was nice, but it was also apparent that money was a driving motivator. Randy is a businessman – and a very good B&B businessman at that – but we were made to feel as though profitability was simply a byproduct of an extra-ordinary stay. This claim is further substantiated by the crazy low rate he charges for his rooms!
I hesitated to write this review because I selfishly don’t want others to know of this little gem of a place but writing these heartfelt thoughts is the least I can do to show my appreciation for the wonderful night we spent at the Stewart Inn. Thanks, Randy and Sara. WE WILL BE BACK!

Text: We enjoyed our time at the Stewart Inn in Wausau; the host, Randy, was so enjoyable to talk to and visit with, and we enjoyed meeting other people traveling through there for business or leisure, and we certainly enjoyed the breakfasts! A special highlight for us, was Buster Brown the resident pup. Atmosphere is cozy and quiet, and several places to visit with each other or new people that you meet. Location is fantastic for getting to restaurants, museums or stores in the downtown area.
We visited Wausaw, Wisconsin just because we have never been there before.... and we will certainly go back again! It's a fun town where people are friendly and architecture is fun to explore. We also visited the 45° x 90° geographical site; which place does in the center of the north Northwestern hemisphere. :-)
Thank you, Randy, for making our stay delicious and enjoyable. Your breakfasts and your dining recommendations were appreciated!
- lakedarling (6/5): Beautiful property, 2 disappointments - Stunning architecture! Windows especially beautiful. Comfy bed, great steam shower. Polyester sheets not so nice. Avocado toast tough, topped with cold fried egg. Innkeeper Randy was attentive, knowledgeable re. History of the house.
- Charles (10/5): If you stay in Wassau this is a must have experience. - It was simply the most well maintained beautiful older home we have ever stayed in. NTR
- Kelly853 (10/5): Stewart Inn exceeded all my expectations! - I had the excellent fortune to pick the Stewart St Inn for a two night stay a week and a half ago. The Inn is absolutely beautiful! The pictures don’t do it justice. It was designed and built by George Maher, a contemporary of Frank Lloyd Wright. The woodwork and many of the furnishings are original. It’s a true treasure. Randy, the host, did a wonderful job welcoming me to Inn and was extra kind and attentive throughout my stay. My room, the Fuller, was amazing and it included a private balcony. Breakfast, both mornings, was delicious! My personal favorites were the caramelized banana pancakes and Moroccan yogurt parfait. I’ll definitely be returning to enjoy both the Inn and the charming, easily walkable, city of Wausau, not to mention its excellent restaurants.
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional - One of the most beautiful bed and breakfasts I’ve ever stayed in - with a very accommodating staff and great central location. The freshly made breakfast and cute dog (Buster) make this a place to visit over and over again!
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- hankwelch (10/5): Great stop, great host, great house - Such a wonderful stop in a historic house.
We stayed one nite, in such a interesting house by architect Mayer. Rooms very nicely furnished, host was very informative. Nice wine Social.
Breakfast next morning was a granola parfet, fresh fruit, and a sausage/palenta plate. Very good, breakfast main changes every day.
There is a house dog (German setter) not noted in the descriptions we had read. We love dogs so that did not matter.
- Shauna (10/5): Everything you need and want. Feel pampered as well. - Beautiful historic house, located in an easily walkable location. Very comfortable with all the amenities you need. Plus, breakfast was delicious. We loved everything.
- Laurie (10/5): Welcoming, warm, fresh, clean, delicious. -
- James (10/5): - An amazing property with a top notch guest experience. Couldn’t recommend the Stewart House Inn more.
