• Michelle (6/5): Good English speaking host - The host, Alex, was extremely helpful and friendly and his wife and children were lovely. Really appreciated his translating help! It was great that we had use of bicycles, which was useful as it was in a residential area so other than a few restaurants there wasn't much close by. The annual flower festival was on when we were there in December so we went there a lot for food. We ended up staying longer than we originally booked. As we stayed so long, it wouldn't have been possible without transport as we'd soon have ran out of things to do.
• Roel (8/5): Leuk maar wel erg basic. Prijs-kwaliteit goed. - Alex en zijn kinderen zijn hele lieve mensen, ze zijn betrokken met de gasten. Alex zal je altijd helpen om het je naar je zin te maken. Rustige locatie, net buiten de stad. Het is allemaal verouderd en niet heel comfortabel. Er is bijvoorbeeld geen kast, geen douche gordijn. Hoe je het ook probeert maar de badkamer is helemaal nat. Ook op de badkamer ontbreekt bijvoorbeeld een plankje waar je iets op kunt zetten. Gewoon niet handig. Echter het geheel klopt met de prijs die je betaald, dus ben je daar bewust van.
• Warren (9/5): If i need a place to stay in chiang rai, i will go there for sure - Alex the host is AMAZING! So helpful, so nice. His wife made morning breakfast and coffee! If you do not have a scooter, it is not central. But owner has scooters to rent and if you do… you’ll enjoy it!

We were very satisfied here last year and so we didn't even think about staying anywhere else. Beautiful garden, facilities and birdsong just a short distance from the noise of the city. Excellent breakfast prepared by the owner. We are very satisfied again! ❤️

• Evangeline (10/5): Peaceful stay outside of the city. - A fantastic stay. Alex and Bea are super friendly and made us feel really welcome. It's really peaceful and nestled just outside of the city. The room felt like one of the best we've stayed in since we started travelling! I absolutely recommend staying!
• Eglė (9/5): Good place for one night - It is a cozy simple bungalow in a peaceful location. Nice to chill outside in the evening. It was clean and reasonable for the price we paid. We were not given any choice for breakfast, two plates containing meat and a lot of dry toast were served to us without being asked if both of us even eat meat. No fruit, not even jam & butter for the dry toast. At least they gave a really tiny bit of rice after asking.

• Rachyow (10/5): Lovely garden guesthouse, fantastic host family - Alex and his family welcomed us in their lovely guesthouse. The room is comfortable and spacious with indoor and outdoor seating in the garden, great ac and wifi. The beds are hard (true south east Asia style) but it's exactly how we like it, so perfect for us, and you are given two blankets to choose how warm you want to be. Shower has great water pressure and hot water, and a hairdryer and towels are provided. Alex's wife and kids will prepare and serve a lovely breakfast of eggs and toast in the lovely patio. Tea, coffee and water are always available. Truly a lovely place to stay, tucked away in a quite street 10 minutes from the center of Chiang Rai, this is truly a lovely place to stay.

• K (7/5): I had a pleasant stay at this property for 3 nighs. - The location was slightly away from the city so, good outlets were limited. It's more residential. The room was decent, clean and cosy. the aircon was noisy for me because my mind gets fixated on humming sounds. The breakfast was basic, toast, eggs and maybe some stir-fried noodles or rice with pork/chicken. coffee and tea of course. Since I was alone and lowered my expectations, this was fine. distance
• Karly (10/5): Peaceful stay in Chiang Rai with amazing host family - Milin Gusthouse was the perfect place for us to stay in Chiang Rai. The accommodations were very comfortable & we loved the peaceful location in the outskirts of the city, especially being walking distance to the river. What stands out most about Milin though are the incredibly kind and gracious hosts who blew us away with their big hearts and hospitality. My mother was ill and needed to see a doctor in Chiang Rai, and Alex went above & beyond to help us navigate the situation. He even drove us to the hospital! We are beyond grateful for the support we received from the entire family. Meeting them and experiencing their selflessness and incredible kindness was a highlight of our travels in Thailand. Everything was excellent.

Renting his motorbike made getting around simple and easy. The flower garden venu for music and food was only a few blocks away and was a highlight if our stay. Highly recommended!! Not a thing…

The family of this guesthouse is incredibly friendly. we had a wonderful time in Chiang Rai. There is no curtain in the shower room, so the entire bathroom gets wet after shower. It would be better if it could be separated. Just a small suggestion :)

The house and garden are very quiet and peaceful (it is not central and you need some form of transport to get here from CR centre - about 6 or 7 KMs). You go to sleep and wake up to the sound of nature. The garden is lovely and quiet and the room was large and comfortable. There are some restaurants and coffee shops within easy walking distance but Alex (or his wife?) will cook for you! around I strongly recommend it if you want a quiet and peaceful few days. Nothing

Garden is of trees and nature that makes it peaceful and nice to look out. Alex was a great host! The room interior was unique and had character. The best temperature room all trip. Bathroom had lots of dead ants in on arrival. The room was likely unused for a while before we arrived. Didn’t really bother us.

It's a little away from town but getting a Grab or Bolt taxi was no problem at all.

• Damien (10/5): A great place to stay with great hosts - I spent a week at Milin Guesthouse, the rooms are very nicely designed and very comfortable. location is in a Thai neighbourhood on the edge of town with everything you need nearby…I loved the experience of living amongst local people. The best part about staying here is the host. Alex is a very interesting guy with whom you could talk about anything in the world with. He also has his beautiful family living at the guesthouse who went out their way to make me feel welcome. The rooms were cleaned daily to a high standard and Alex took care of my motorbike rental and laundry. On my last day as my flight wasn’t until the evening Alex let me keep the room to chill out in past check out time as it was so hot outside this time of year, I was also treated to dinner with the family and a couple of beers before I headed to the airport. This without a doubt has been my best experience of accommodation in Thailand, and I’ve been coming for years. nothing

• Ning (10/5): Best guesthouse with fun and friendly hosts - We had an amazing experience staying at Alex and his family's home for 3-4 weeks. The room was nice and clean, and there was a lot of space outside to relax. We worked remotely, so we often borrowed bikes and went to nice coffee shops in the surrounding area. The area was quiet and safe, close to nature with many caves, temples, and interesting places to explore. The downtown is nearby, about 10-15min by bike. Alex and his family were great hosts - very responsive, flexible, and kind. It was always fun to hang out and chat with Alex who was really knowledgeable about Chiang Rai and many aspects of Thai culture and history. We appreciated the fantastic daily breakfasts and laundry service. Overall, we felt super at home at Alex's and would for sure visit again in the future. No mosquito nets on the windows, but there was AC so no problem for us.

We had dinner with Alex and his family the last evening which was really nice. We had some construction noise from next doors but that will be temporary.
