• felix (9/5): Good place, very good ppl, nice location - Location ! Service people ! Breakfast…room size and view (room #7) People need to be aware that most of the rooms (9) are on the very high 2nd floor (in Portugal they call it First) and get up/down with suitcases may be a bit challenging.

Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und hat uns sehr geholfen. Ein Lift wäre wünschenswert, wenn man nach einem ausgiebigen Spaziergang müde ist.

Never have i stayed somewhere that I've paid for the breakfast, but they couldn't accommodate us until 10am - we had a flight to catch. They accommodated everyone else. We were with them for one night - booked specifically for the breakfast! We had to go out and find our own breakfast in Lisbon which is surprisingly not an easy task. They have not adjusted the rate either, even though i have reached out. I wouldn't stay here again.

• Robert (10/5): A beautiful hotel in a very convenient spot in the city. The accommodations were very comfortable. - Great view & location of hotel. The bed was comfortable and loved the thick towels in the bathroom. It was a nice touch to be able to get an apple or a glass of wine as we walked into the hotel. Liked having the breakfast served in our room, just wished there was an earlier breakfast option as we would have liked to get an earlier start some days.

• Arsen (1/5): Terrible hotel — 2 stars at most - Only the facts, as many as the text limit allows, although there are many more: locked hotel doors upon arrival; only one staff member on site, more like a concierge than hotel reception; no lobby, hall, bar, restaurant, or proper reception desk; no elevator; guests must carry luggage up seven steep flights of stairs; “second floor” feels like the third or fourth floor in a modern building; breakfast only by exact prior reservation; no flexibility with breakfast time; very limited choice — only boiled or fried eggs offered; unclear where breakfast is prepared or how it is delivered; no soundproofing; loud city noise at night; terrible internet, barely two bars in parts of the room; bathroom is not separate, but part of the room; sink, toilet, and shower are along one wall with no door or screen; no privacy; no bidet or hygienic shower; sink badly clogged, filled with water immediately, drained very slowly; pipes made very loud disturbing noises; staff said this was “normal”; plumbing old, worn out, and unpleasant to use; visible mold around bathroom fixtures; damaged corners and baseboards; flies in the room; basic wall-mounted split AC; old TV and battered cabinet presented as minibar and flat-screen TV; huge bunch of keys guests must carry; guests must lock and unlock both the room and hotel entrance themselves; no staff on site at night from 11 PM to 8 AM, only emergency phone numbers; this does not feel safe or professional; I left after about 30 minutes, asked for a refund for the three paid nights, but my money was not refunded. I have been using Booking.com for many years. So you can imagine how disappointed I was when I reached out to Booking for help, and they did absolutely nothing to assist me. They didn't even bother to explain their silence. “Thanks,” Booking.

It had so much wonderful space and big windows giving wonderful light! The ceiling was plaster reliefs and gorgeous! The breakfast was magnificent and delivered fresh and hot to your room to enjoy! So much wonderful food and hospitality. The staff could not have been more helpful or accommodating. Great location, near tons of food, shopping, bars, and trains. • Carina (9/5): Charming and relaxing place well located in Lisboa - Charming room with with wonderful natural light and lots of space, kept in the original style of the palace rooms .Beautiful breakfast served in the room and a large modern bathroom. Attentive staff. We had a room on the front street (entry) side which did not have the view to the river - you need to order the deluxe room both for the view and to maybe avoid the noise that comes from the street most of the night on Friday and Saturday - the windows are original glass and therefore not sound proof.

And having breakfast brought each morning was such a treat. The staff, each one, was top notch. Climbing the stairs to the rooms but you get used to it I also had a lot of street noise in room 2 and from the facility next door.

Le lieu est magnifique, avec beaucoup de charme et une atmosphère unique qui rend le séjour vraiment spécial. La localisation au cœur du quartier Chiado est parfaite! L’équipe est tout simplement exceptionnelle : chaleureuse, attentionnée et toujours disponible pour rendre service. On se sent accueilli comme des invités privilégiés, ce qui fait toute la différence. La chambre était confortable, décorée avec goût et parfaitement entretenue. Le petit déjeuner servi en chambre est incroyable.. Chaque détail est soigné, ce qui contribue à une expérience haut de gamme. Nous recommandons cet hôtel sans hésiter et y reviendrons avec grand plaisir lors de notre prochain passage à Lisbonne ! Un grand merci à toute l’équipe pour ce séjour inoubliable.
• Erin (10/5): Unique vibe, great location - This property is perfectly located in the fashionable Chiado district - there’s lots of cool stuff around to do and you can walk to it, with just a couple of small hills, from the centre of Lisbon. The rooms are large and comfortable in a stately old house, which felt nice and unusual! Breakfast is delivered ensuite every morning and I was always excited to see what I got! Extremely friendly staff. Spotless room, comfortable bed. It gets very loud at night - you will hear people out on the streets but there are earplugs in the room for you to use which help. This wasn’t a problem for me, but it’s almost 50 steps us to the first floor (more stairs for the second) just something to keep in mind if you have mobility issues.

Just they didn’t like you to bring your own alcohol or snacks into your room but equally didn’t have the facilities to offer their own beverages.

Breakfast was a real highlight. Each member of staff we met was attentive, welcoming and made our stay very special. I honestly really can't recommend this hotel enough!! Nothing at all.

I prefer down and feather pillows and duvets. No elevators but we were aware of this in advance and the staff did all of the heavy lifting of luggage etc.

• Mark (9/5): Quite possibly the most attentive and nice staff we have ever met, they were very proud and happy to work there and look - The staff, the breakfasts, the location were all perfect! The bed mattress was quite stiff (which isn’t kind after hiking the hills in Sintra and Lisbon) and the exterior walls were thin, we were woken up multiple times in the night.

The staff were friendly, knowledgable and very efficient when providing helpful tips for a proposed itinerary. Our room was spotlessly clean and we enjoyed the trolley service of an incredible, plentiful and varied breakfast each morning! This hotel is small, historic and very comfortable. Within minutes you can be eating in a very good restaurant or perusing the shelves of one of the oldest bookshops in the world! Leaving... we'll hopefully return

• Patrick (9/5): Wonderful room, amazing breakfast, friendly & helpful staff in a beautiful city- what's not to love! - The room was beautiful with views across the city, from the castle down to the water. The hotel had a lovely boutique vibe with beautiful artwork and I loved that each room was named after a famous Portuguese writer. Location was perfect, very central - outside of the taxi to and from the airport (arranged by the hotel - both drivers were an absolute delight to speak to on the journey) we walked everywhere. Each and every staff member was extremely polite and helpful and genuinely enjoyable to speak with. We are already planning our next trip back! Outside of the room and a lovely breakfast delivered to the room, there are no other amenities - or a lift to the rooms, just a stairs. We knew this when booking so it was not a problem. It is the nature of a boutique hotel in an older building. However if you are looking for a more standard experience or even just a bit elderly (problems going upstairs) then it may be wise to look more into it - I would advise calling the hotel and speaking with them, they are very warm and friendly.

• Nina (10/5): Ein Traum in Lissabon - Ein Traum! Buchen Sie unbedingt ein Zimmer mit Ausblick, es ist jeden Cent wert. Ein wunderbares Hotel, perfekte Lage, mittendrin, sehr ruhig und toll eingerichtet. Der Ausblick auf Lissabon und den Tejo war wunderschön und wir haben ihn jeden Tag genossen. Das Frühstück im Zimmer hat sich sehr luxuriös angefühlt. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder!
• Sener (10/5): - We just returned from a vacation in Lisbon and stayed at your hotel in the Florbela Espanca room. The view, the room, and the entire hotel were really beautiful, and the staff were incredibly sweet, helpful, and welcoming throughout our entire stay. Breakfast was fantastic – a wonderful start to the day, and when we needed to continue our journey, we were kindly offered the option to have breakfast very early as well as the possibility of a sandwich for the airport. That made our departure much easier and more convenient for us. All in all, the stay was pure enjoyment, and we are already excited to return. • Isabella (9/5): - A localização do hotel é maravilhosa, equipe super simpática e atenciosa. O palacete em si é lindíssimo, se hospedar lá nos faz sentir que voltamos no tempo, amei! O quarto é gigante, cama e travesseiros muito bons, e chuveiro maravilhoso! Café da manhã delicioso no servido no quarto. Existem 6 pequenos lances de escada até o andar dos quartos. Eu errei em não ter visto sobre isso antes da reserva. Quem for com muita mala, indico chegar e sair sempre em horário que tenha a equipe completa na recepção e que possam auxiliar com as malas, se não acaba sendo um certo desconforto subir com tanto peso. Mas tendo gente da equipe lá, eles se oferecem pra ajudar prontamente.

• Sorrell (10/5): Stunning palace property in the centre of Lisbon with large rooms and excellent views - Hotel is located in the centre of Chiado in an historic palace. You are welcomed at check in with a glass or port and given so much history and helpful advice. Rooms are extremely large (which is unusual in Lisbon) and the breakfast is served in your room, plentiful and delicious. Staff were extremely kind and helpful. There are stairs so not suitable for people with mobility problems

• Angelica (7/5): - really liked the location; it’s close to everything in the city center, which made getting around very easy. The staff were also wonderful: polite, kind, and very welcoming. I especially enjoyed the breakfast; it was delicious, and you could really tell it was prepared with care and dedication. My room wasn’t very quiet. I could hear a lot of street noise starting early in the morning, around 6 am. The bed sheets didn’t feel completely fresh, as they had a slight smell, and the pillows weren’t very comfortable. The doors inside the room also didn’t work properly, and my room was located next to a kitchen area, so I could hear quite a bit of activity from there as well. That said, the staff was really kind, friendly, and very helpful throughout my stay, which I truly appreciated. I think the overall concept is nice, especially the idea of bringing an elegant breakfast to the room, but more attention to detail and making the rooms feel cozier would really improve the experience.

Every member that I met was warm, engaging, actually interested in my circumstances and my stay and went above and beyond to make my hospitality experience wonderful and they succeeded! Great job whoever’s doing the hiring to choose people that care, it makes all the difference in the world:) Look forward to my second visit as I head home to the US from Portugal at the end of the month. • Yasmina (10/5): - We were very happy with our stay at this hotel, largely because of the wonderful staff. Everyone was exceptionally kind, attentive, and helpful in so many thoughtful ways. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel truly welcome. When we shared that it was our honeymoon, they went out of their way to make it a memorable experience, and we are very grateful for that. We also loved the aesthetics and the overall mood of the place, which made our stay even more special.
• Alana (4/5): Extremely Disappointed NOT a four star hotel! - Staff were friendly. The superior room was extremely large but the room was extremely tired looking. It may have at one time been quite lovely but the wall to wall carpeting was severely stained they had carpet over carpet. The pillows smelled terrible and need to be changed! The room is very dark with very little lighting in for a room that size. Closet is extremely small and can not hang anything longer than a short shirt if that in it! No where to put luggage only one luggage holder! The breakfast they served to your room in the morning at your chosen time was cold scrambled eggs that were not cooked and a piece of fat that was suppose to be bacon or ham. The fruit was either over ripe or brown from either sitting too long before being served or just fruit that turned bad! The first morning we had an early tour they left a sandwich that consisted of two slabs of store bought white bread with ham and cheese on it that was left out for hours in room the night before as they delivered to room while out! Not wrapped in anything not put in cooler or fridge! It was discusting!! Sorry not eating a sandwich at 7:30 am. Certainly NOT a four star hotel by any means it may have some history but the place needs an overhaul! No bathroom doors sound of pump extremely loud when shower or taps are turned on or when toilet flushes! The noise outside the room was terrible from a bar on the corner and people swearing and yelling below.

• Wolfgang (10/5): Die beste Wahl für eine Städtetour nach Lissabon - Ein außergewöhnliches Erlebnis für uns. Eine Suite in bester Lage mit tollem Blick auf die Stadt. Ein sensationelles Frühstück, auf dem Zimmer serviert. Eine tolle, zentrale und dennoch enorm ruhige Lage des Hotels. Sehr zu empfehlen für einen Städteurlaub. Last, but not least, unglaublich liebenswürdige Mitarbeiter, alles sehr nett, hilfsbereit und freundlich. Es war für uns ein rundum schönes Erlebnis in einem kleinen ( nur neun Zimmer) und persönlich geführtem Hotel zu übernachten. Wir werden zurückkommen. Bedingt durch die alte Bausubstanz des Palastes waren manchmal die Wasserrohre etwas und und es gab zwar eine separate, aber keine abgeschlossene Badezimmertür. Alles in allem aber nicht wirklich störend.
