Gennaro (5/5): Good location, nice lobby rest is medioca!!! - Excellent location with seaview. Not sure where to start from. Booking was for two peoplle. First question reception asked ' Are you on your own?" Clearly the booking is for 2 people as I wanted breakfast for both of us so I had to choose 2 adullts when I am booking. Then they asked my partners ID. This doesn't happen in most other hotelss. We stayed at Crown Plaa just couple of weeks ago. Holiday inn and Novotel didn't ask either. Then I was asked to pay extra 400 yuan in case i spend money and runaway. Well booking.com did not mention that. I could have open a few bottles of champagne than runaway. Anyway so rude to ask extra money. Booking.com and hotel has my card details. They could put it on my room account and charge me when I check out. So unprofessional and tastless. The reception staff was so rude , inexperienced in communication , raising her voice andd tring to justify their nonsense by raising her voice! Never ever again! Also design of the bathroom was terrible too!!!

LiamSteadman (6/5): Room for improvement - Positives and room for improvement. Check in was awful as the staff were unfriendly, no smiles and no please or thank you. However, other team members were very pleasant. Perhaps they should be moved to the meet and greet. The breakfast was exceptionally good. A wide variety and all warm. The staff and breakfast were wonderful. I have to mention the gym. Although not big, the equipment was modern and the place modern. The hotel is 5 star, unfortunately the check in staff are not.

G9273BBjasonc (10/5): Great place to work out of - Great hotel to work out of. The restaurant serves a great breakfast and dinner. Rose was singing most nights and has a fantastic voice, made staying there much more pleasant. Gym facility is in great shape and the swimming pool is a good size to do some laps. Sauna and steam room weren’t working while I was there but the beds are absolutely comfortable. Most people had enough of a grasp of English for me ti get by and the concierge even set me up with taobao so all my packages would arrive. Looking forward to my next visit.

김 (8/5): Good, but not enough - it was awesome! good to stay in. There are enough facilities to enjoy, such as a swimming pool, gym, lounge, etc 1. the window in the room was dirty. I don't think you need to clean every day. if you clean once a week the room would look much fancier 2. poor food in the lounge. The liquors were enough, but the food was only small pieces of bread and fruit. it would be nicer if you offered some more foods 3. the hall near the front desk was too hot. need more AC.
Jasmine (8/5): Great location and helpful staff! - Location was great and the staff were excellent. All of the staff were very kind and helpful. The room was a great size and comfortable. My only complaint is the drainage on the shower. Because the drainage is slow, the water overflowed and got more of the bathroom floor wet. I could tell that this was causing severe water damage to the wood of the bathroom door.

Ke (6/5): Pleasant - nice hotel, clean, room is spacious. The facility are all clean and nice, quite new; Lobby view is awesome. Reception was very helpful. The only downside is about the Gym management. I went to gym in early morning, 6:30am, 1st one in, work out, but can't find a single clean towel to use. There were only a few used towels in the baskets, so definitely not many towels were prepared in the gym. Called the service desk, in the begining, the lady said gym staff only starts at 10am "Means no service I take". After I insist to get a clean towel, she rang somebody to send one to the gym. This can be managed in a much better level. Other than that, still a very good hotel.
SEUNG IL (10/5): 시내중심에 위치한 브랜드 호텔 - 근처에 괜찮은 식당도 많고, 대형쇼핑몰도 차로 5분 이내에 위치해서 이동이 편해요. 호텔 앞에 디디 차량들이 많이 상주해서 픽업도 편하구요. 최근 오픈한 고급 마사지샵도 아주 만족했어요.

I requested for maintenance of the AC in the room to make it warm in the room and although the technician came and checked the AC , there was no further improvement on the heating system in the room. The room was still cold. The AC controllers in the room was replaced and it was still not working as expected. Very poor quality AC Controllers!!!

agoh69 (8/5): Beautiful view - The hotel is situated close to a lake, and I was allocated a magnificent suite with a stunning lake view. The breakfast area was spacious, offering a diverse selection of dishes ranging from Western to local cuisine. The suite itself was vast, including a shower room that overlooked the picturesque lake. I appreciated the cleanliness and the convenience of having two sinks, especially when staying with a partner. However, there were issues during my stay; the TV didn't work, and the air conditioning was disabled due to electricity control in the autumn season. This made it challenging to sleep at night and stay comfortable inside the room during the day. Additionally, the path leading to the lobby was undergoing repairs in October 23.

John (7/5): Good - It was a very nice dinner buffet — and breakfast buffet as well That the lounge snacks was in the large restaurant, which was not a nice replacement for a nice lounge. The restaurant buffet is nice, but quite noisy and pleasant area to relax..
Elshay (1/5): Wrong Hotel, Wrong Location, Wrong Price - They had breakfast cereals, and the bed was super comfy. The view from the room was nice, the room was large, and the desk was very comfortable to work from. We successfully ordered room service once (they don't speak English on room service), and the burger meal was delicious. ufff...where do I start: 1. Someone forgot to tell the computer that it was supposed to price gouge for the labor weekend. They had put the inflated price on Booking.com but the Marriot computer system doesn't seem to allow price gouging and was giving the standard room rate. But the problem was solved by the stroke of a pen and voila, 30% increase - the power of the pen (and sssshhhhh... don't tell anyone in Marriot.com ;-) 2. Make sure you don't ask for a 1 hour late checkout. You will be refused 3. Bring your own internet (the one in your room may stop working) 4. Bring your own A/C (the one in your room will be broken) 5. Don't bother trying to watch the 2 English channels on the "mini" TV (CNN HBO). They don't work 6. Room service works sometimes. but not in English 7. if you use the pool, don't go too late, the changing rooms are a mess, towels, flip flops, strewn about... 8. If you are on the 17th floor like us then you have access to a special lounge.. good to know, but no one in the hotel will tell you.. we found out on Chinese weibo, on the last day. 9. oh... if you want points on your Bonvoy account for your stay make sure that you don't use booking.com. Otherwise, they will refuse to give you the points (but they will take your email on the excuse to "check" and then send you a feedback form to fill out) 10. A positive is that the parking, even on the Mayday weekend, is COMPLETELY empty... probably because the Sheraton is only one wing of the building you see in the pictures. The other wing, Sophia, looks like it has been abandoned. I'm pretty sure this hotel will be abandoned and demolished soon, also. So if you spot any yellow diggers approaching get out quick !! 11. This is not the location you want to be in if you want to see QingDao. It is a business/residential area. The "real" QingDao is on the other side of the bay, ShiNan. That is where you really want to stay.

davidwP5862EO (2/5): Try any other Marriott property in Qingdao - Incredibly bad service, so bad that I cancelled my reservation and staying at another Marriott property nearby. LeMeridien which I highly recommend to save you the hassle. My first contact was with Jerry, who said he was the front desk manager but spoke broken English. Second person was Nicole (Lemon) Li whose English was better but then the problem was using my Suite Award upgrade which she claimed was not for a suite and I would have to pay for access to the Executive Lounge. All during this time I asked to contact their GM but was refused. I now discover it is Allan Zhao since you replied to another complaint. Mr. Zhao, you must be a very important person or not important with no authority. Anyways, I’m sorry that you have to manage such a situation. I will file a negative review on as many travel apps as possible. By the way, I write for travel magazine and you won’t be recommended

Good breakfast with both Western and Chinese food options. Nice gym and pool. Rooms are comfortable and bathrooms are good.
Verified traveler (8/5): Nice location - Stayed three nights. Location convenient to restaurants, hotel price reasonable. Front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. The lobby is a little worn down. The air conditioning worked super well to keep my husband feeling cool in the summer heat.

Nuala (4/5): Customer service needs improvement! - The worst part of my stay was the fact that I was made to feel that I might not pay my bills. On checking in, I paid my 5-night stay bill in full with an additional deposit of 1000 yuan. To be accosted by staff to sign a 57 Yuan room service bill two days into my stay, was humiliating, and told, you did not pay when I had actually already attempted to pay the bill in cash in the morning, and was told there was no need. Covid regulations advertised but not followed- ie showing of green code etc. Cleanliness in the room was ok. Miserable with the amount of shampoo etc that was left in the room. Only replaced if completely used!
jorgesaras (2/5): Worst experience ever - I'm a frequent business traveler, I have stayed in this hotel a couple of times and I can never rest due to its over sized pillows. When you ask for a normal pillow they just came with a similar one, You need to complain and shout to get a reaction but finally they give what they have. Worst SPG hotel I have stayed. If you want to have a good experience in a hotel, avoid this one

pitalice (6/5): Just so so - I always come here when no rooms are available in the nearby Hilton, as the Hilton Huangdao is miles better than the Sheraton. It is just the many little details that make the Hilton so much better. The flaws with the Sheraton are: - Long Check-Ins and Check-Outs - Many stations not staffed, one occasion I waited 5 minutes at Chinese restaurant reception, but nobody showed up - Used up interior in lobby and elevator area, nobody taking care of it - Smoking on the elevators tolerated Sheraton staff is not trained very well and this has a big impact on the atmosphere. Already when entering the hotel it is clear that something is not correct. And unfortunately this is the case every time I come here, and every time I regret I could not go to the Hilton
MattiePC (8/5): Good value and location - Had some issues checking in as had requested a connecting room. Be aware that you need to book a suite with adjoining room as other rooms do not appear to have connecting rooms. Even though you may request it they will not reply. English is generally poor in this hotel but I would think would be the same in most Chinese hotels. We were eventually upgraded to a suite which had a great bathroom and was very spacious, worthwhile if you are a family. Had the Sunday night buffet before moving into the hotel which is great value with unlimited beer and wine.
pabloaX4770GZ (8/5): NICE HOTEL WITH GOOD LOCATION AT HUANGDAO - The hotel is very nice and comfortable, rooms are quite big and functional. Bathroom is very good with bathtub and shower. The location is very good as well (if you need to be in Huangdao) with a new sidewalk to the shore and shopping mall quite near. The Club Lounge is one of the best things of this hotel, not only for the place itsefl, but for attention of the ladies that are very kind and serviceable. Cannot say the same about front desk personnel that cannot understand english and do not make a great effort about it.

lynnbet168 (6/5): Not as good as I thought! - from my dear 12 yr old reviewer - This Sheraton hotel I stayed in was located in Huangdao, China. The room was very spacious and there was a lot of space to play around. I particularly liked the shower and the bath because it was kind of like a 2 in 1 thing. The swimming pool was a bit of a problem, it wasn’t very inviting and luxurious for a 5-star hotel pool. The bed was extremely comfortable and I didn't even wake up a single time the one night we stayed there. I hated the sliding doors to go to the bathroom, they were always jammed up and weren’t very convenient even though it looked good. The view of the room wasn’t very spectacular. The breakfast wasn’t very large but the food was quite tasty and delicious for a hotel breakfast. As a whole, there were quite a lot of problems for a 5-star hotel. Next time, I don’t think I would like to stay in this rather disappointing 5-star hotel.

robertobomfim (10/5): Very Good Experience - I stayed 3 whole months at the hotel with a group of other colleagues from work. Location is good if you're working at HuangDao, but If you'll have to go to QingDao everyday, be aware that it'll take you 1 hour. The staff is very helpful and will try to help you even when they don't speak english. The room is big and cozy. I'd like to give a special thanks to Concierge Supervisor Jonathan Ding, who helped me a lot with all the TaoBao and Xiaomi online shopping :D.
Kevin22030 (10/5): Very Nice - I found this hotel to be very nice. I stayed in a premier sea view suite which was very nice with two toilets, a bath with a view and a nice separate shower. The breakfast was good and the area was great. The area is much less crowded than Qingdao but still with plenty to do. We rode the 3 person bikes, went ice skating and had a lot of fun in the area.

( not linked with Chinese policy, really local issue ) The worst is breakfast. Wide buffet, but each time you ask, people do not care or do not speak English. Uncooked eggs. No butter [ they told me margarine and butter are the same !] There are far better hotel in this area.

The suit room was big enough , great view and everything worked well , just the heater too strong that is normal in China. Lobby and lobby bar very nice and service too, mention front desk Ivette and others, lobby restaurant and bar plenty of food and drinks, service very good too, mention hostess Eleonor , Ann and others. Gym , swimming pool facilities and service good. The executive lounge also very good, plenty of food and drinks , the service was great I could not get the staff name. and executive lounge are good.

One day I told them the beer is not chilling enough, from the next day I get extra freezing beer; and there’s one time I get cold when I visit, I’m served with warm lemon honey water which is blended by the staff themselves.

Alexander (10/5): Excellent option for Huangdao - This Sheraton is well located, by the sea side at the Phoenix bay which is really worth a stroll. The staff was really nice, the breakfast had a good selection of western dishes. I found the room huge and really comfortable. The dinner buffet, all-inclusive (including beer and wine) is great. The heated swimming pool is nice with a well set-up dry and steam sauna.
