Guest Reviews
- Joanna (2/5): Don’t go if you want a twin room and clean bedcove - Basic motel style but no twin rooms, the price at the place was 600baht for a single and 1200 for a double so we asked to change to 2 singles, which caused mayhem and we kept being put on the phone to someone who spoke English but still said we’d have to pay extra, eventually the lady took us to a suitable room but no top sheets and the bedcover was filthy. The shower was great though and bathroom clean, no bedside lights.
- John (6/5): Bar & restaurant closed - Disappointed that the Bar & restaurant gir breakfast were closed. This should be called a motel - you really need a car to stay here. What Resort? Owner gave us a complimentary lift to White Temple twice though.
- Varshaa (8/5): Very well maintained but motel-like - Location wise, it is excellent cuz it's hardly a mile away from the famous White Temple. The property is spread out over a large area so gives a good spacious feel. Rooms are OK, not too big not too small. Amenities were basic but all good such as toiletries, fridge, etc. Parking is literally at each door of the cottages/rooms, so that is a huge plus in Chiang Rai if it's pouring heavily like it was when we checked in. Staff is cordial.
Overall, it is a typical motel setting and since we went there during off-season (July), it didn't have options for dining or breakfast at all. So that was a big minus for us. But overall, it makes for a really good option to stay in Chiang Rai.
- Gerard (6/5): Totaly unsufficiant - Bedsheet used, not clean (noticed that at 03 am). Pillow much to big (to high), not useable. Not a normal chair in the room. Electric connection not enough (use tv or fridge!). No soap in the bathroom; only shampoo in the shower.
- EquanimityOne (8/5): Value for Money - This is a fairly cheap hotel but provides excellent value for money. The rooms are large and decently decorated. The air con was good. There was a fridge too. It's a drive-in motel style type of accommodation so you park your car in front of your room which is very convenient.
The location is great as it's just 5 minutes to the White Temple and not far from the Singha park. It's not in Chiang Rai city which is at least a 15 minute drive away. It's well located if you're driving in from Chiang Mai as it's just a turn off from the highway and there's no need to drive in to Chiang Rai city.
The only complaint I had was that the plumbing was noisy with the WC occasionally making loud bubbling noises!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good parking but a bit far from town - Hotel is located near Singha park and White Temple, the room is a bit old but comfy. Large bathroom with little amenities. We found the towels has some stained.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Affordable - This place was ok to stay at. The wifi was no good but the owner was nice and helped us get taxis and recommended we check out a park nearby which had a tea factory there. The room was comfy and the room was affordable. A little out of town.
- saman688 (8/5): very good place to be - This hotel is very nicely located close to the bazar street. the rooms are very clean and was big enough for my family of 4 adults. The swimmimg pool is a very good thing after the bussy day to relax. The staff pay attention for your need and they are always ready to wellcome us. The room of road side may be little bit noisy. Generally it is a good place for
- Lyle129 (8/5): Very clean, very comfortable, AWESOME!!! - We randomly stopped at NorthStar while looking for a hostel to stay in Chiang Rai. And from the first step into the door, I know our choice is correct, and our staying would be amazing!!!
The owner is super super friendly. She talked and shared with us a lot about her life stories, which makes us feel warmly welcome, just like home.
The room is very good-quality. It's designed in the modern style. It's large, it's clean, and it's very cheap. I did not expect the room at the price below 1000 baht to be that wonderful. To be honest, that is the best shower I had ever taken when in Thailand.
Most importantly, the bed is AMAZING! Very comfortable! I slept so deeply that even the other people could tell in the next morning!
Initially we planned to stay in 1 day, but then extended for one more day.
One more plus, this hotel is the closest to White Temple (only 5 minutes driving by motorbike). It's also on the way going to one waterfall in Chiang Rai. So, it's very convenient.
Would definitely come back here if I have chance.
- ironymike (10/5): Very comfortable! - It's a good 4-star Hotel. I stayed there one night before going to Laos. The room is very clean and the furniture is expensive (incl. marble). The owner of the hotel was very nice to me. I talked to her and gained a lot of information about Thai people :-)
- kevinpatrickbarker (8/5): Very Clean - Went to this hotel not expecting much, as it was a cheap price 1200baht($35).I was very surprised at the cleanliness of the room .It had a full size fridge in it , an air-con that worked and a very clean toilet and bathroom. The bed was so comfortable and clean as well. The staff were very helpful and made the stay more pleasant .
