• Carol (10/5): Convenient, pleasant place to stay - Exactly as described. Friendly and polite staff. Room was clean, with adjustable heating and opening windows. (Fan provided but we didn't need it). Spacious ensuite. Location was excellent for us - very close to beach, eating places and also to bus stop

TV not working so I had to mess around for an hour reattaching ariel plug but was still not connecting properly. Just a bit annoying.

Which surely meant it opened all doors 🤔 Breakfast served between 7.30-8.30 very early for a holiday booking

• Valerie (9/5): Kind and caring owners and staff plus excellent overall accommodation at modest cost made this one of our best stays. - Fabulous sea view. Nearness to sea (across from the small park opposite). Nearness to major routes and easy access to them. Large relaxed style room - 5ft king size mattress set in sleigh bed. Plenty of storage for a week’s stay. Exceptionally kind down-to-earth staff. Private parking enough for all rooms. Plenty hot water. Good room heating and windows that open. Well stocked hospitality tray and a kettle. Breakfast available but just two choices and as late risers we preferred to eat from the many eateries around us. Poor clamp holding shower head in place and bathroom is cold. No heated towel rail which meant we needed more towels than normal as they didn’t dry off during the day. Also if you turn the sink tap on too quickly you risk water shooting out and soaking contents of drawers underneath. All small issues the owners could remedy easily without great expense. Fridge good half size (could do with being on a platform)

The beds were comfy and the bathroom was spacious. The door locked from the inside with a key and felt safe. The only thing missing was a hair dryer

Room was well appointed, warm, very comfortable and the 'sea view' was very much of the sea even the hotel was a ~200m from the coast. The breakfast was excellent quality including the extra bits and coffee. The only thing worth commenting on was the shower. The temperature was 'bit' variable but still good. Otherwise everything was good.
• ASMATH (10/5): Fabulous stay! Great value! Amazing view! - The location of the property was fabulous! So close to the beach, beautiful! Walkable distance so it was nice to do that. 10min drive to the city. Metro station not too far away. Free parking at the property so that was a bonus. Friendly staff, easy check-in and check-out. Comfortable room, very well though out. Fantastic stay. Would definitely recommend. Not much. Maybe just that the property was a little dated. But that didn't matter much because it was still comfortable. The decor was beautiful as well. So not that big of an issue.
• Cath (9/5): - Lovely location. Good sized room with comfy beds. Friendly, helpful staff. Main entrance door was difficult to pass through when carrying luggage ( off set double doors with only one side opening, plus step) so we got wetter than was really necessary.
• Julia (8/5): A comfortable stay with good breakfast - Our room was clean, spacious, well-appointed, with a very comfortable four-poster bed and a lovely sea view. We opted for a full English breakfast which proved to be plentiful and delicious with cereals, fresh fruit salad and yogurt, toast and a cafetière of coffee, as well as our cooked option.

• David (8/5): Ideally located, perfect for our stay - We were met by a kind lady who explained everything in detail as we'd not stayed at The Lemonfield Hotel before. We were only there for one night and didn't have breakfast the following day, so can't comment. Location was ideal for where we ended up, at The Stack on the sea front about 500m from hotel. We got an Uber into Sunderland City Centre, costing about £6.50. Ample free parking and located about 220m from promenade. Personally, I don't like a hot bedroom and the heating was on full and room were very warm when we arrived, however this was soon sorted by turning radiators down and opening a window, no big deal, just coming from a personal point of view. No other dislikes

• Brendan (6/5): Comfortable and quiet location. - Location was good for us. Value for money. Quiet rooms and quiet location. Shower was hot with okay pressure. Clean and comfortable but no shared spaces. Family room was two rooms in a weird setup of a triple and then a separate single room. Rooms were very small with nowhere to sit other than on the beds themselves. Bathroom fan didn’t work. None of these are major complaints given the reasonable pricing, I would stay here again.

• James (7/5): - We booked two rooms for three nights. One for me and my husband and one for our son. Our room was very comfortable. The bed was also very comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and very user friendly. We had breakfast our first morning and it was very good. Unfortunately our son's room, while comfortable, smelled of smoke. The staff did offer a very nice replacement room for the first night, but the second two nights our son had to sleep in a room that smelled. While the staff made efforts to spray the room and leave the windows open the first night, there was no improvement. This is really unacceptable from a place that advertises itself as non-smoking.

The room was spacious with a roomy en-suite. It was lovely and quiet. Comfy mattress. On this occasion the hotel were unable to accommodate breakfast for us because we needed to leave by 7:45am as we had a long journey ahead of us. Pillows were rather hard.

• David (8/5): Great little stay at The Lemonfield - Nice clean and sizeable double room (room 12) with sea view. Welcoming staff (owners?) and everything was as smooth as clockwork. If you find yourself wanting somewhere to stay in the area, you would find The Lemonfield very suitable. Almost nothing at all. The only thing to consider, I think, is that the hotel is quite old and so is only suitable for guests with good mobility. There are ground floor rooms, so it may well be worth checking with the owners about accessibility features.
