Guest Reviews
- Ana (8/5): - It’s not a 4 star hotel. It’s an affordable, comfortable and clean pit-stop before or after the climb to MP. My 3 kids and husband slept comfortably.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The modern features were pleasing and made the stay very comfortable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - One of their staff met us at the train station and escorted us up the hill to the hotel. Our room was fine, walls a bit thin but lots of people make noise early trying to catch the bus to Machu Picchu.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very nice location. Excellent staff that helped us with luggage and other requests.
- Kris (10/5): - Beautiful location at the top of a busy street of restaurants and shops. Lots of steps, but close to the Hot Springs and gorgeous views from our window. The room itself was clean and big enough to fit my family of 5. Very happy with our choice.
- Vipul (8/5): Sleep to the sounds of the stream! - Wilson was great - he picked us up from the train station and walked us back. This hotel is at the quiet edge of town overlooking this lovely gushing mountain stream. The entry to hot springs are right next doors. The room was nice for us 5, the bathroom not as much. No warm water and this was in winter. So all in all a functional place, friendly staff and quiet. Recommended.
- Liliana (10/5): Best place in Aguas Calientes - Best place to stay in Aguas Calientes! The hotel was close to the hot spring, and all the way down are all the restaurants and markets. And if you are traveling with a family of 5, the room had 3 twin beds and 1 queen side bed.
- Ross (8/5): - Value for money.
- MLG (10/5): Perfect for our needs - This is listed as a hostel, but it is more like a cozy hotel. I was traveling with a group of 12 people and we stayed here 2 nights, it was more than just adequate. The rooms were spacious and comfy, nice beds and mostly clean bathrooms (we had a spider in one of the showers that was not welcome :)
The breakfast was amazing and the staff was friendly and helpful. It is at the top of the town so if you hate walking a very short distance, don't stay here...however, if you want to stay away from the noise of the trains, buses, and crowds then DO stay here.
Recommended and would stay here again!
- itp (8/5): Basic hotel, but great for the area! - Definitely a basic hotel, but overall had a great experience! Loved that our rooms over looked the creek, it was lovely falling asleep each night to the sound of the water. The hotel staff was great, they met us at the train station and walked us to the hotel. We would have had a hard time finding the place had they not done that!
- AHA (8/5): Nice place - Clean. Lots of hot water. Comfortable beds. Provided electric heaters at night. Met us at the train station on arrival for free. Provided bagged breakfast because we left before breakfast started to head out to MP. Staff is very kind, friendly, and helpful. WiFi worked everywhere. It is a bit of a walk uphill from Train station.
- Josh (6/5): Unfriendly servers - Bed had stains asked to switche our they said ok but did not got bothered when I asked again mole everywhere bathroom curtain was very very nasty felt unwanted To sum it up I would say customer service was rude
- Klaus (10/5): Clean, comfortable and great for families. - One of the best hostels we've started at in Peru. Room 206 has 4 beds with a dozen windows, gorgeous views and a private bath with plenty of hot water. As typical the rooms are cool at night but the blankets are plenty warm. The river provides a constant white noise at night so you don't wake up to other people leaving earlier or buses honking, trains whistling, etc.
- Vincent (6/5): - Maybe adequate in the summers but freezing in the winter. Breakfast was of lower quality in a room with no heat with ice cold scrambled eggs. Bathroom got flooded after every shower. The staff, if present, was not friendly nor helpful, insisted that I must pay in advance.
- Verified traveler (6/5): One significant disappointment - Everything fine, except that we were told breakfast started at 5am. We wanted b-fast and wanted to store our bags so we could get on the early buses to MP. 0500 came and went, and there was no one there; we eventually had to wake up the manager to store our bags and we bought breakfast elsewhere. No big deal except the only reason we stayed in Aguas Calientes was to get an early start, and this interfered with our day.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice location, Very clean - I stayed only 1 night to go to Macchu Picchu, the place was nice, clean and very cozy, I liked the staff, free breakfast, would go again!
- P (10/5): Perfect for our stay - We were a group of 6. We booked two rooms. One that slept 4 and the other one 2.
The room that slept 4 was nice, clean and very spacious. The bathroom was clean and the hot water had a lot of pressure (hair dryer and shampoo/soap). Our room overlooked the river and we all appreciated the sound of the river. The hotel staff was very nice, helpful and accommodating. I would definitely stay there again.
- Eric (10/5): Great view! - The hotel is on the end of town near the hot springs. Not far from the station, but a steady climb.
The Staff was very friendly and helpful. We got a corner room with a beautiful panoramic view of the woods. Curtain not super complete though, so some bleed-in light at night. Breakfast was bread, cheese, luncheon meat, one cereal and the usual drinks. They also prepared an egg to order that was quite good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): RECOMENDO - muito bom , recomendo!
- Karla (6/5): Para passar a noite: ok.
- Jodi (2/5): Hard working staff, lousy rooms - Our room had a very strong sewer smell & the condition was not good - the walls had rusty orange marks on them. The breakfast was quite good & the staff was very helpful and really trying hard.
- JC (8/5): Nice staff, amazing shower, thin walls - The staff was very accommodating. Gave us sack breakfasts to take while waiting for the first bus to Machu Picchu. Beds were comfortable. Shower was amazing---water was as hot as you could want, strong water pressure. Seriously felt amazing. The walls are thin so you hear everything nearby and above and below. The plus side is you also hear the nice river too.
- Nen (10/5): Nice Hostal with wonderful staff. - The room was comfortable, and I would have given it 5 stars if the wifi was working. The staff was very accommodating and kind. I was relieved to see someone (Alvaro) waiting for us at the train station to take us to our hotel. It wasn't as close to the train station as stated in the description. On our way to the hotel, Alvaro even guided us to buy my son's Machu Picchu entrance and our bus tickets. Now that is amazing service. I would definitely go back.
- Heidi (8/5): Nice hotel at the top of the hill - Nice hotel at the top of the hill near the thermal baths. We had large rooms overlooking the waterfall (party of 9). Rooms clean and well appointed. Ensuite bathroom. Showers hot but very slippery! Staff super friendly and lovely breakfast in the morning.
- Patricia (8/5): - We reserved two rooms. My husband was not happy they did not change his room when requested. He was told they were booked. He did not like the humidity smell of his room. My room had bigger windows overlooking the river so it was more ventilated. Staff was super helpful with assisting me locate my reserved tourguide that didn't show as expected. The hotel room was overall comfortable and clean, and the bathrooms were nice with warm showers.
- Verified traveler (4/5): The room smelled really bad - The room smelled quite bad from the restroom odor leaking out. They were kind enough to give the burning incense to mask the smell, but didn't help.
- AshTC (10/5): WOW! Super amazing place - This was one of the best hostels that we have stayed at. We were a little concerned when we got there and we couldn't find it at first, BUT this is only because we asked a local and he stated they had moved to a new location. They are in the perfect location close enough to the main center but far enough that it is quiet and great place to relax. They provided all the amenities that we needed from shampoo and towels to extremely clean bedding and comfortable mattresses. They provided a heater in the room so you are able to regulate your own temperature.
They were positive, worked with us consistently to locate what we needed around Aguas Calientes and seemed genuinely happy to have us there!
100% recommend this place.
- Nicholas (6/5): Decent - This hotel (it's more of a hotel than a hostel) is tolerable for the area. The rooms are decent size and provide all the basics. The on-site service is good and the breakfast was well done.
It's location is as far from the town center as possible and the uphill walk could be very difficult for some people. On the walk up, there are many shops and food options (although not very diverse).
