Guest Reviews
- Sandra (10/5): -
- David (3/5): -
- Pat (6/5): -
- Tom ABQ (9/5): A great value for a clean and quiet room with excellent Mexican food nearby! - My go-to when passing through Amarillo. Not the most modern or the fanciest. Northside neighborhood is dark but safe. Always clean and quiet AND an excellent value when compared to places along I-40. Excellent Mexican food nearby!
- Karen (8/5): -
- Sherri (8/5): - The front desk guy was helpful and brought us ice.
The bed was super comfortable as were the pillows. The location of the hotel seemed sketchy but we like the room.
- Piek (7/5): The bed was comfortable, easy to get and get out area - Close by the family Nice people staff
- Jeremy (9/5): Great spot for overnight nostalgia along Route 66. - Rooms were very spacious, clean and nicely decorated. Coffee facilities in the room. Quirky art with local flair supports the Route 66 vibe - a perfect alternative to nondescript, soulless hotel chains. Staff was very friendly and gave great local tips. Shout out to for the recommendation for Mt Taylor Coffee Shop - great coffee, food & service. Would definitely stay again.
- Albert (9/5): -
- SHAUN (5/5): -
- Donna-Luisa (10/5): - Everything was clean and well maintained. We've been traveling on Rt 66 for a week and this was the best one at this price (around $60). Staff was prompt and friendly.
- Mark (1/5): Upon inspecting room, we packed up and found a more suitable motel. - Nothing. It was a slum. Your rating of 3.3 is way off. Maybe a minus 1 Trashy outside, unkempt lawn, office smelled of old food. Heat was controlled from the office. Bed was too soft and squeaky. Felt unsafe on the property
- Vivia (8/5): - Very clean. Owner was nice. Great place to stay if you’re going through Amarillo. Good size room well appointed. Bed was comfortable. We were in the building in the back. It was very quiet.
- Douglas (8/5): - Clean rooms and working facilities. Outside condition needs to be upgraded.
- Joe (8/5): - Functional reasonably priced motel.
- Jeffery (8/5): - rehab classic old route 66 motel. Wrong side of the tracks (literally), but clean cheap and secluded enough to be safe.
- Jeffery (10/5): - Room was fine for a one night stop on route 66
- John (8/5): - It was very nostalgic. The place looked just like the motels I stayed in over 60 years ago! Rooms were well maintained and clean. The AC was a little noisy. But that was the way they were.
- Lowell (10/5): - The room was super clean and well appointed. My only negatives were that the bed was uncomfortably firm and there needed to be a TV channel list. The TV remote would not change volume and would not pull up a channel guide, so it was impossible to find anything.
- Lonnie (8/5): - Good value
- Brigid (5/5): Kind of expensive for where we were and I wouldn’t stay there again. It would be really great if they turned it into a r - Location and history We never felt safe at this property. There were some people arguing next to us and some random guys walking through the parking lot.
- Adrian (6/5): Pleasant - Location Tv service.
Very limited channel choice and no guide. Only found 2 or 3 channels not news, or tv selling... not good enough.
Disappointing as nothing much else for evening entertainment
- Cindy (8/5): - Neighborhood didn’t look so great so we were a little apprehensive but the room was nice and exceptionally clean . Very comfortable bed . Would definitely stay there again .
- Maciej (8/5): Very good - cleanliness, friendly staff even though located right on the rute 66, it's a busy and noisy street
- Jaye (1/5): Bad -
- Matthew (4/5): Disappointing -
- Jones (6/5): Too much highway noise wouldn't stay there again, Nice people though - Room right on highway, very noisy, hard to sleep.
- Michael (8/5): - Looked kinda rough but we really couldn’t complain about anything.
- JORDAN (10/5): - Nice little hotel. The price is right and it’s clean and perfect for stopping over night. Had lots of blankets on the bed which I liked because their AC worked good!
- Heather (7/5): Good -
- James R (10/5): Great motel! - The room was nicely updated and very clean.
- Phil (9/5): Great place to stay - The remodel is being done very well. Fresh paint. Very clean. No breakfast 😝
- Nela (10/5): - One of the cleanest little motels i have ever stayed at. The surrounding area is not much to look at but was acceptable for a 1 night stay.
- Mike (10/5): - Nice folks, helped me alot.
- Arcadia (8/5): - Not terrible for the price, but not amazing either. Smelled weird and you could hear every noise outside and from adjoining rooms, but it was clean enough and staff was friendly. Area was kind of seedy feeling.
- Kim (7/5): Good - The room was clean and smelled nice.
The bed was comfortable. Busy traffic throughout the night.
- Jill (1/5): Scary location!! - I booked the hotel about 30 min before arriving while traveling. When I arrived at the property, I pulled into the parking lot and immediately pulled out. The location of the hotel is in a very scary and run down part of town. I contacted the hotel and asked for a refund since I had just booked it and I explained that I wouldn’t be staying there. The hotel said that I would need to contact booking.com. Booking says that that I need to contact the property, so I’m out $100 but at least I’m alive to tell about it. DO NOT stay here or even go near the hotel.
- Harry (10/5): - Eat at the Thai place
- Dern (10/5): Our room was clean and could see it was updated. Beds were so comfortable and the staff was nice - The property was nice they were still doing some updating etc Really no dislikes
It is located a ways from the highway like 10 minutes or so through city streets
- Blackwood (5/5): Passable - Room was newly remodeled and clean. No real complaints, but would not stay there again. No ice and questionable neighborhood.
- Rodolfo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Flores (10/5): FRIENDLY - LOVED THE STAFF. THEY WERE VERY HELPFUL.
- Kennith (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lori (8/5): i would stay again - it was worth the price the area was a little rough
- Raquel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alma (10/5): - It was an older motel, but our room was quiet, and clean. Bed was comfy.
- Nicholas (10/5): - Excellent no-frills motel and a great value. Great management, clean comfortable rooms. Whenever we stop over in Amarillo we try to stay here.
- Nikki (8/5): Surprisingly good! - Room was clean, comfortable, the staff was friendly. Parking right in front of the room, easy to get in and out. It was a last minute stop and wasn't sure what to expect, but it was surprisingly good. We only stopped for the night so I can't speak about convenience or location, but we'd definitely stay there again if we were passing through and needed a stop in Amarillo.
- Kalynn (7/5): Good -
- Mary (9/5): Superb - Polite, helpful staff. Room was clean, tidy, and quiet. Around front door was a small open air gap which let cold air in. Next morning, it was 31 degrees outside. But insde heater in room worked well to warm the room.
- Carey (10/5): - Very Clean with ample space in the room. Excellent room - everything worked and the shower was very good.
- Mary (9/5): Superb - Very clean! Nicely remodeled older motel. Good value!
- Hall (8/5): Very good - Very comfortable room. Intimidating lobby. Massive speed bumps.
- Debra (10/5): Great - All of it Location of motel
- Ralph (8/5): Very good -
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Friendly service and a clean, comfortable room.
- Steve (10/5): - Unfortunately we had a car accident in Dallas and couldn’t make it to Amarillo. I messaged the property letting then know of our accident. It was after our cancellation window. I believe they may give some refund on the stay. I hope to get back to Amarillo in a few months and definitely will stay at Route 66.
- Stephen (6/5): - Many Motels like this in this run down part of town
We didn’t stay!!
The owner eventually gave us a partial refund of $41 even though we didn’t use the room just opened the door,
We wished we hadn’t as that cost us $46 just to find out it was as grim as we expected!
- Karen (8/5): More than adequate - very clean, albeit old, but I don't mind as long as it is clean. Good little frig & microwave to prepare my frozen dinner and store perishables. Quiet, but there were few guests the night I stayed. Front desk person needs to improve her English -- us elderly folks have a difficult time understanding heavily accented English.
- Mel (9/5): Superb -
- gary (6/5): - It was only ok.
- Tanya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aaron (10/5): - I liked the place. A stay at Route 66 Inn on route 66 was exactly what I was looking for. It was way better than expected. for an older hotel, the rooms were clean, didnt smell, checkin was easy, there wasnt any hidden unexpected charges. I think the owner takes care of the property and does everything on his own as I saw him cleaning rooms when I was checking out. I would stay here again for sure
- Natalie (10/5): - It was a quiet and clean room. The beds were comfortable! The check in process was so quick and easy. Even gave me a map of the attractions in Amarillo to check out. Gave complimentary pin. The room was clean. Bathrooms clean. For an overnight stay it was perfect! If ever need to stay in Amarillo, will come back.
- Helen (8/5): Very good - Clean Location
- Angela (8/5): Overnight stay - The hotel was a pretty decent size. It was a quick check in. We only stayed over night to sleep. The neighborhood was was quiet. We plan to stay there on the way back.
- JUSTIN (10/5): Great choice - Last minute stop for our family. Hotel had great reviews overall so we decided to give it a try. It’s a no frills hotel but was clean and comfortable and didn’t break the bank!
- Monica M (4/5): - The hotel room appeared to be clean, but upon our entry into our room, we found 2 spiders on 1 bed, and in the morning there was another one on the other bed. The refrigeration freezer tray had some grey mold and what it looked like to be a feather in it too. You can tell the renovations were not done quite well. There were huge gaps near the electrical outlet by the closet area, possibly where spiders are coming in from. The inn staff were friendly but the room was not comfortable to sleep in.
- Laird (5/5): Passable - Staff not friendly or helpful at check-in
- Sharon (9/5): A good place to stay! - Small and comfortable. The check in person was very accommodating to my elderly mother and I appreciated that extra effort. For the price it was much more comfortable than larger hotels. We enjoyed our stay. The location is a bit sketchy, but overall it was ok. We were given rooms in the back and that felt a lot more comfortable and safe. Otherwise it was a good deal.
- Naoko (7/5): Good -
- Naresh (9/5): Very comfortable. - I was not sure to book initially considering traveling with 2 kids. But surprisingly room was very good and staff were friendly. We checked in midnight and stayed for night.
Room has a mini refrigerator, stove and coffee maker. Nothing. It's value for money.
- Jeremy (9/5): Superb -
- Dipan (6/5): Pleasant -
- DALE (10/5): - Room was nice and clean. A little dated but well taken care of. It would have been nice to pet two
Keys but a
Minor detail.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Disappointed - Loud music all throughout the night. Room had weird odor
- Carolyn (10/5): - This was a wonderful surprise! Was a little nervous about the area but the hotel was amazing!!! Nice clean room, comfy beds! Will stay again!!!!
- James (10/5): - Management was helpful, efficient and pleasant. Great bargain, beds were very comfortable and room was clean.
- Peter (4/5): Lacks charm - Once the True Rest motel on Route 66, the Route 66 motel has seen better days. The motel was restored some years ago, but the property has junk here and there, and the rooms, while sufficient, aren’t particularly comfortable. The proprietor was polite but not friendly. The motel lacks the charm of many old Route 66 motels that are still in operation. East Amarillo is also pretty rough.
- Steven (8/5): - Area of property maybe not so good. Property was fine in itself. Dont go walking to anything nearby.
- Darcey (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was great Nothing so far
- Tim (8/5): It was a good quiet night sleep. - The property was in a somewhat off beaten path with I thought might not be good but it was surprisingly nice and clean. The rooms had been up dated and were nice. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well.
- Consuelo (8/5): Very good -
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room was perfectly adequate.
- Adam (10/5): - It was nice to stop at a Motel that was as advertised.
The rooms were clean and maintained. You could easily see that the people running the motel do take care of it and the people stopping there.
- David (6/5): Pleasant - very few other guest when i stayed my car was only one car in car park .. noisey store / liquor store nearby
- Robert (6/5): On Route 66 - park right next to the room
recently remodeled area is a bit questionable
no coffee available
appears that is lobby has very limited hours
both ice machines not working
vending machines were empty
- Beth (8/5): - Looks run down from outside but the room looked updated and clean.
- Cambang (5/5): Passable - I don't like the attitude of the front desk. She is intimidating.
- Randy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (10/5): Nice stay - Wonderful, attentive service and the room was very clean. The bed was comfortable and the linens were all clean.
- Kevin (9/5): Good clean hotel on a budget - Pleasantly surprised how clean the hotel was and loved how comfortable the bed was. The flat screen TV was a very nice size and easy to see. Everything else exceeded my expectations. Parking lot was just a little cramped.
- Haley (10/5): Super comfy beds! - Clean, comfy beds with microwave and refrigerator! Best comfy bed I slept on in a lonnnnnng time. Amazing stop!
- Joseph (10/5): - Easy to get to, room was clean. Good value for price
- Elizabeth (9/5): Superb - Some extra noise
- Michael (6/5): - Given the condition of the room, I thought it was very clean. However, it did need paint in most areas. The amenities were nice coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator.
The soap dispenser in the shower was empty on side. Also, the shower base gets extremely slippery when wet. I believe they need to put in some tape.
I did not have much interaction with the staff. What I did have was good though.
- Cheryl (8/5): Very good - Friendly check-in service. Room was clean. Bed was clean as well. Bed was very hard and not really comfortable . Lights were kind of bright and hard on the eyes
- Phyllis (10/5): - Very clean. Rooms have been updated. Neighborhood looked a little sketchy but was clean and the motel was gated. We ate at a nearby Asian restaurant that also looked pretty old but inside was very clean and the food was great.
- John (10/5): - There’s no bugs. So that’s cool. It’s in ok shape. Super noisy road though. This is not a quiet area. At all. Seems safe ish. My room is behind the main building which feels more comfortable. It is what it is for the price
