Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Very bad ,strange people on the alway, bad bed .... top cheapper motel in canada very grab
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I rent a room for my Mom. One day, we came back late so I ask to stay for 1 night. She gave me an extra single bed and no extra fee. All the staffs are really lovely and friendly. Recommend for others!
- Rishit (10/5): - The rooms were nice. All the other facilities were great. They need to improve on their reception area. Looked a bit untidy and old. Rest everything was fine.
- alibubba2469 (2/5): If you don't do drugs steer clear - Booked sleeping dragon motel for 3 nights when in town for business. I didn't get to the front desk and was greeted by 3 people outside that informed me a I could by crack from a dealer called Okie staying in room (won't say) and lots of working girls in and out. Steer clear if you aren't into crack or a prostitutes. Cancelled my booking after a 15 minute argument with the front desk to not charge my credit card.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Check-in was a gong show. Even though they advertise a checkin time of 3:00, no one was there to check me in until after 6:00. I had to keep going in over a period of two hours until someone was there. Even their house phone that was there was unable to reach anyone to check me in. The room's floor didn't look like it had been washed in a couple of months.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Booked room and there was none available and place from the outside is a dump
- Ian (8/5): - For the price an absolutely excellent stay. Everything is a bit dated or well used and a few corners could use some cleaning (like the bit of bed frame I could see with bits food and stuff in the crack by the box spring). But good service and a comfy bed.
- Elizabeth (4/5): Creepy! - This place is creepy. The location seems to be an industrial park. There are junk vehicles in the parking area. Upon arrival at 11:30 pm we encountered a closed up “reception office” and had to use a very grubby phone to call a provided number for check in. The place must have once been a half way house or something. THe floors are all linoleum and the walls are all cinder block. The room smelled like a hospital, mixed with cigarette smoke. There was no toilet paper in the bathroom.
- Jim.&.Brenda (8/5): We are repeat customers . . . - We were quite pleased with these accommodations as the room was inexpensive as compared to the competition and was very convenient to the shopping we desired including several restaurants and places of entertainment . . . Additionally, this location is within close walking distance to several bus stops which is convenient because on this trip we were shopping for a variety of items and traveled to numerous venues in other parts of the city . . . The beds were comfortable and afforded us a good night's sleep, which is what we expected . . . The ambiance was quiet and peaceful as the Dragon slept at night and did not disturb us or the other guests during our stay . . .
I presume cable TV reception was still great (last visit was during a snowstorm that visited the city and blanketed the ground similar to the way our comforters blanketed us while we snuggled in our warm beds in our warm room) as our schedule this visit did not allow us to watch . . . The air conditioner kept our west-facing room cool and comfortable and was quiet enough to allowed us to carry on conversations in a normal voice . . .
- Lou (2/5): The place had an awful smell to it. - Not someplace I would recommend. Please avoid this place.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Xlise to,aeceral, eating places. Good water pressure for showers. Ckeaning lady did a good job. Confortable bed and ex ellent price
- dibbs (8/5): - Good place for an overnight stay
- Al (6/5): Isolated location ok just to sleep - Hotel was what I expected for the price. Suited my needs at the time. I do not recommend for a family but is perfect if you are working for a short period of time or just need a quick sleep. Perfect for a person working in construction or driving truck that need a place to sleep.
- Jim & Brenda (8/5): Inexpensive and convenient . . . a happy stay ! ! - We were quite pleased with these accommodations as the room was inexpensive as compared to the competition and was very convenient to the shopping we desired including several restaurants and places of entertainment . . . Additionally, this location is within close walking distance to several bus stops which is convenient should we have desired to venture out to venues in other parts of the city . . . - John (10/5): - The hotel was easy to find, the room was clean and the staff was exceptional. Willing to go above and beyond to make the stay a pleasent one. All the paper work was completed at checkin, so all we had to do is leave the key in the room when we left. For sure, I would stay there again the next time I am in Thunder Bay.
- TR (6/5): Needed a cheap place....got one... - Stayed for 2 nights. There was no heat in the room when I arrived. The owner came and put a new heater in while I was already in the room. They had a week notice that I was coming. The heater made the room too hot and when you turned it down it went off and got cold so it was one extreme or the other. I needed a cheap room and I got what I payed for. Only recommended to people who don't mind a cheap room at a cheap rate.
- Colonel (10/5): Nice - Great price and location nice staff. Everything was clean and well stocked . It was easy to find and no issues at all......................................... Zzzzzzzzzzz
- Verified traveler (2/5): - No good , noisy and room smell bad.
- Sadie (2/5): Motel was a scary place to stay !
Never again! - The room was not that clean, and smelt of weed ! long dim lit corridor . Musky smell.
Most people looked as if they were homeless! Lots of drinking!
There was garbage that needed to be picked up near fire escape !
One Asian girl - most likely the owner- seemed to take care of front desk , cleaning rooms etc !
It's a wonder that there were no bed bugs!
I wish I payed an extra $60 and stayed at Super 8!
- Remy (2/5): - All motel smells drog. The guy smoke wide at the lobby at 10 pm. The motel is not clean. At 11 I it was impossible to stay there. I want to sleep an another place. I can't recommended it to anyone.
- BrittanyB1993 (2/5): Didn't even make it to the front door - Pulled up late at night, we checked online and it was the cheapest rates.
(Reasons why)
Got out of the car and felt like a crime scene waiting to happen.
The place looks run down from outside, when we got out of the car a man almost half jumped out the window.
Asian men were looking at us through the windows.
We jumped in the car and left.
Recommend super8 hotel just down the road.
- NeverAgain (2/5): Absolutely filthy - I paid around $55+tax. Why did I not pay $20 extra and find something better, I cannot tell, but expedia doesnt give you a sense of smell of the hotel.
I have mild asthma, but as soon as I entered the cooridors, my asthma aggravated so much! You'll smell smokes and marijuana both alike in a dingy cooridor. Lights were dim and the place was ratchet. Garbage bags piled at the side of emergency exit.
And oh, no ID required. They just gave me a room.
I am surprised there were no bed bugs and my car wasnt broken into. So bonus points for that.
