- Diana (10/5): Highly recommend, best value for money! - Excellent location. Close enough to the main attractions but far enough where it’s a quiet area to stay at night. I felt safe and I believe a lot of locals live in this area. It’s very close to the subway as well. The staff is amazing and always friendly! If I had to be picky…they could use more dusting and maybe have a mini fridge inside the room. We were only there for 3 nights so it wasn’t a big deal but can imagine this being problematic if you like cold drinks or need to refrigerate medicine.

- Luke (6/5): Great location but requests ignored - Great location, clean rooms and very comfy beds. At time of booking I made a request for a room at the back of the hotel on a higher floor. Request was ignored, put me in a room on the front of the hotel across from construction work on opposite building, was very noisy and was woken up at 6am every day due to construction workers using loud equipment.

STRONG air freshener in the hallway. Always gives me a headache. It’s so strong. And the small soap gets stuck in the plastic soap tray. It needs ridges or you should have liquid soap.

There was no refrigerator in my room and I had to store my medication offsite. Management said they would contact me but their reply emails are simply to apologize and say my request is under review. I was given a case number but ai haven’t heard or seen progress. Apparently they don’t care that I was inconvenienced.

- Gareth (8/5): Great art, great waterfront, great diner, great neighbourhood, great location - Long Island City is one stop from Manhattan and is itself a vibrant community close to Greenpoint and Astoria with its own sensational waterfront park with views of Manhattan. Plenty of good restaurants and one of the best diners anywhere in New York. Also PS1, the modern art extension of MOMA. In terms of my room I was lucky to be given a handicapped room, by which I mean it was designed to accommodate wheelchair users and therefore spacious and comfortable. Free coffee and tea in the room always goes a long way to make me happy, this room also had a refrigerator allowing for casual in-room eating which is always good news too. Location is great for access to La Guardia and JFK airports. Nothing.

Instead it's a low rise building with a reception and common area that looks like a student dorm. And it is filled with students!! It was not the one displayed in your picture of the hotel.

The sound insulation was not good and I could hear noises from all directions. The fridge in the room was quite loud as well so I had to turn it off. The most annoying thing was the smoke detector, which was flashing bright green at a high frequency and it disturbed my sleep.

In the two rooms were a total of 3 bottles of water. We didn’t even get enough water for each of us and then had to buy more of we wanted at $3/bottle. Seems insignificant to come but water in a hotel should be complimentary especially if at check in that’s what we were told.

- data_dylan (10/5): Don’t sleep on LIC - I usually hesitate to stay outside of Manhattan when I visit the city, but this spot in Long Island City completely changed my strategy. The location is honestly incredible for the price point. You have two different metro stops within walking distance, so we could get to Times Square or down to Brooklyn in about twenty minutes flat. For anyone driving in, getting here is a breeze compared to the city center. The hotel doesn't have its own parking lot, but I managed to snag unrestricted street parking nearby without much drama, which felt like a massive win. We booked a balcony room and I was surprised by the actual square footage. By NYC standards, the room felt generous. It was super quiet and the bed was comfortable, which matters most to me after a long day of walking. That said, the building went up in the 2010s and isn't exactly brand new anymore. You can see some wear on the carpets and scuffs around the edges, but everything was spotless so I didn't really mind the cosmetic aging. The neighborhood is really coming into its own with all these new buildings and trendy spots. The real highlight for me was the food access. You have Utopia Bagels nearby for breakfast and the concentration of amazing Asian restaurants in this pocket of LIC is a huge plus. The staff at the front desk were super friendly every time we walked by. I would definitely book this again for my next city trip.

- 451joei (10/5): Perfect winter get away - Stayed in Long Island city over Christmas and Aloft was great! Clean, cozy and so convenient! If you want to stay in there a ton of good restaurants and a manhattan view waiting for you, and if you want to see the sights, Manhattan is literally one stop away. Staff were amazing, couldn’t recommend enough, Fred in particular was super helpful and really friendly and kind, brought that Christmas spirit!

- erinaB2604LT (10/5): Great staff, very helpful and friendly - We got to the hotel after a 5 hour drive and realized I only booked the hotel for my husband and myself and forgot to add my two kids! Fortunately Fred came to the rescue and found us a room and even upgraded it so we could all stay! Very positive experience, I definitely recommend this hotel!!

We were able to check our bags so we could explore after check out. There was a seating area and pool table in the lobby. Rooms were pretty small, but big enough

The location js very convenient to explore the city, the rooms are comfortable and quiet and the skyline views are incredible. However, the best part was th staff. Everyone we interacted with was incredibly nice and helpful.

Zona nuova e molto carina, ricca di locali per fare colazione, pranzo o cena. Anche un Supermercato vicino. Arrivare in camera dopo il checkin stanco per il fuso orario e trovare le lenzuola in stato pietoso non è stato il massimo. Dopo la mia segnalazione hanno provveduto ma non dovrebbe neanche accadere.

Fun atmosphere and comfortable room. No in-room microwave. Mattress and pillows weren’t great, but decent enough.

Fred at the front desk greeted us with genuine warmth and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. He handled everything seamlessly, turning a difficult travel day into a wonderful stay. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the city views were stunning, and the hotel’s location made exploring so convenient. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

- LilyGrace86 (10/5): Another Wonderful Stay - This is my fourth time staying at the Aloft LIC and I will continue to return there as I have always had an excellent time. The rooms are clean, well appointed and spacious. Beds are extremely comfortable. Hotel amenities — rooftop, bar, cafe and outdoor lounge are fun and convenient. The staff is incredibly helpful and kind. I was especially impressed by Fred’s warm welcome and hospitality this time around. Thank you for another great stay!
