Guest Reviews
- Eligio (4/5): - They require a $30 dll deposit cash only (I don’t know if it’s to ensure you don’t steal the crappy towels or the one glass to use in the room). At check out you have to wait for someone to check the room before they can let you check out and give your deposit back which in my case was like 20 min. Staff appears to be force to be there and thus not friendly. Facilities not worth the cost, I have stayed in better hotels for similar cost.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Pictures Look Better - Bad expierence. Door Key constantly did not work. Would not return here again. No elevators. Pictures look great on websites, but place was not like pictures at all. Stay elsewhere folks.
- Jhonatan (2/5): - Barrokas was once the top hotel around here, but now it’s always a big disappointment, the last three times there’s always a big issues, like first time no water because of some plumbing jobs, next time the shower didn’t work and the toilet as well, and this time tv and ac were broken… also I don’t get why they don’t get Expedia reservations sync. Like you come to the hotel and they say they cannot process Expedia reservations, it’s just a mess every time. Also rooms are smelly! Like real bad…
- Gilbert (10/5): Great stay Black Rocks Mexico - excellent stay , all that we needed including a restaurant in close proximity , the city is super clean in general , great water pressure , excellent A/c's and for the price ......Amazing
- Verified traveler (2/5): - No more Barrocas
- Verified traveler (4/5): - This hotel’s prime has passed. It used to be luxurious 2.5 years ago. There were a lot of questionable people outside of the rooms, the pool and the parking lot. According to the receptionist, there is a guard on site. Our vehicle was ok thank goodness. The walls inside the room were stained with grime and dirty spots. The carpet felt sticky and the furniture was damaged by water stains. The ottoman was stained too. The sheets were clean however. I would not stay here again.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The place is a low budget hotel. Very noisy and the room smelled very much like some kind of smelling spray. Also the beds are extremely soft which are a killer for those who suffer back problems.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Its just ok.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Not hot water, super dirty room, plus roaches all over the room . I had to asked for my money back and they were very rude. But at the end they give a refund. Don’t stay there !!! Restaurant was nice but the hotel is in very poor quality.

It is a very old construction and they haven`t remodel it

- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was just what I expected
- jair (2/5): nunca jamas!!!
- FrequentTravel (6/5): - Used to be a fine hotel, now in desperate need of an update. Water stains on the carpets, furniture way beyond the point that you should still be using it. Ice machine broken. Front desk personnel not trained, check in took like forever. Restaurant staff not properly trained. Like I said used to be nice, now it is a 2 star hotel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - During check-in, they ask for a cash deposit. They do not leave an open
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The mattress at room 311 is terrible, the bathroom was very dirty, door looks dusty, in general cleaning is not good, the faucet was broken, the breakfast area definitely needs attention.
- Juana (10/5): - The facility was clean and the rooms were a good size. However, the room took away to get cool and stay cool throughout the night! The lady in the front was very nice and helpful!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved my stay , Restaurant right next door is super and convenient!!!
- DF (6/5): - The price point is excellent. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was good. We stayed in the Jr suite. The room needs a deep cleaning, and update, as does the whole hotel. I would recommend, but you get what you pay for.
- Gabriel (8/5): - Bien
- Roberto (2/5): - Terrible
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Everything was good Everything was good this say all
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very satisfied with everything, had an awesome stay at the hotel

- Verified traveler (10/5): - I loved the place, it was very clean and organized
- Verified traveler (10/5): - the carpet was dirty and the shower head was not putting out very much water
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Everything was great, bed was excellent, will recomened
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I truly expected a decent morning breakfast with tortillas and other good items but it seems being in Mexico and you don’t get Mexican breakfast! At least they should offer breakfast and let us pay extra!
- Jorge (10/5): - Everything was perfect from doing check in to checking out.
- Elias (8/5): - It was good. It need appliance
- Robert (10/5): Great location - Location is great. Outstanding restaurant and sports bar next to the hotel. There are several great restaurants another hotel within walking distance and 2 movie theatres nearby also. Area is safe a university is nearby so the is allot of lively activity. I think its the most action in the city, more so than central downtown.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I liked the breakfast, the restaurant next to the hotel, the staff are friendly
- Sandra (10/5): Good - It's very good
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good place to stay - Their credit card terminal was not reading my card for some reason and had to drive to pull out cash. By the time I came back, it was working. Waste time and gas. Other than that, the room, the comfort and cleanliness was great. Just take spare cash if you are planning to use a card just in case. Also, make sure you are not over charged. Mistakes happen and I was refunded. They honored Hotels.com price and I was satisfied with my stay over all. I will book it again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Every time we are in Piedras we stay at Barrokas Inn. It's reasonably priced, the location is great, the hotel is nice and well kept.
- Christian (10/5): Last minute getaway. - It was truly an amazing week! Loved the walking distance to everything. Comfortable beds, WiFi working perfect and breakfast buffet every morning. Would definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good quiet room soft bed and good breakfast location was convinient. Customer service was excelent
- Verified traveler (8/5): - just one thing the water pressure at the showe very low
- Verified traveler (8/5): OK hotel, needs updating - The place is not bad it just needs updating. Seems old. Other than that it was a pleasing stay.
- Maria (10/5): - Everything was excellent.
- Maria (10/5): Family trip - Everthing good
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel - Clean and comfortable, steps away from the restaurant.
- Marshall (6/5): Clean and comfortable - This was a clean room and comfortable bed. The property is older, but well maintained. The air freshener they use is VERY strong. Overwhelming when you enter your room. The pool was closed when we arrived, they said they were cleaning it, and it would be open later that day. Two days later, when we left, still closed. The restaurant next to the hotel by the same name was excellent. It was pricy for the area, but really good.
- Mari (8/5): - Easy check in. Room was big. Comfortable beds. Quiet place even for New Years Eve. Could use a little upgrading.
- Edmundo (4/5): Good amenitys close buy - The water was very soft,it feels like you never took of the soap
- Carolyn (10/5): Lovely stay! Will be back! - Nice, large room. Comfortable bed and bedding. Food and service at the restaurant were fantastic. Breakfast was sufficient. Enjoyed our stay. Will be back!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good service, good location, friendly staff.
Would stay there again.!!!!!!!!!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Bad experience - Service was awful!! breakfast was very poor service . Check in was a bad experience i got quoted a price and when a i arrived got charged a diffrent price . Ice nachine was broken so we couldn't get ice just not a good experience.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Poor service, great location - The staff was actually very slow at check in, they said to wait in a rude way. There was not even a reason why he wouldn't give me the keys he was probably being trained and the trainer was on the phone, until she hung up the phone then he gave me the ok and gave me the keys. It took forever. And I am fluent in Spanish and I did not lose it, I was very polite.
The location was wonderful, very convenient.
The cleanliness of the room was poor. The condition of the carpet, sink and thub were poor, dirty, broken. I'm so sorry for giving a bad review but in order to satisfy the guests they need to take action and correct this.
- Martin (10/5): - was a great stay at Barrokas Inn cus I was easy to get to our destination and back
- Adrian (6/5): Good deal - We attended a family reunion in the same area.
The hotel is conveniently located on a city Loop (Blvd. Manuel Perez Trevino) with easy access to and from international bridge. Plenty of restaurants and stores nearby.
Nice front desk staff, free breakfast (cereal, toast, fruit juice, yogurt, eggs, fruit, coffee, etc.) plenty of parking space, nice facilities, swimming pool, room is OK with AC/Heater, TV, clean and comfy beds, good deal for the price.
- IAH Sr (8/5): Great place to rest. - Great place to rest after working away from home. The rooms are clean, bed is comfortable, plenty of tv channels, descent breakfast and friendly staff. Body pillow is nice, but other pillows were to soft for me. A firm pillow should be included as a sleeping pillow option.
- Marisa (8/5): Mahhh - Beds are very comfortable, but the place feels and looks old, the service at the restaurant is very desirable and the food is a 6 in a 1-10 rate.
