- D1253QKjohnb (8/5): Cheap and acceptable - Overall, the hotel was very clean and well-lit. The staff were friendly and helpful and the complementary breakfast was delicious! We loved the refrigerator full of water bottles (we went through a million of them). The beds were pretty firm. I slept fine, but one of my more sensitive friends couldn’t sleep much, so that was tricky. Also, my sheets were stained and had holes in them, and there were a lot of markings on the walls and curtains. I thought it was worth it. The hotel is too far from the main attractions of the city to walk, so we had to take a Grab everywhere. The only restaurant within walking distance was the only awful place we ate the whole time we were in Thailand, so that was a bummer, too.

Standard double bed room is more comfortable than triple room - i like the free bottles of water, coffee/tea/chocolate machine and good breakfast. I had booked a TRIPLE room with Mountain View for 4 nights, paid THB 11,844 to be shared with two other friends because it looked very spacious and nice rooms in their website. BUT upon checking in, our triple rooms were smaller than my friend who had double bed room. We were supposed to have three sharing in the triple room but the room and bed were so small that one of my friend went to sleep with friends who had king size bed and much bigger room. This was very disappointing because the triple room was bad value for money ... will not book TRIPLE ROOM in this hotel again ..

- Werner (5/5): execpt for the water issue i had a pleasant stay - the location was perfect for me. close to the city but just outside of the city to enjoy some rest. there was a water issue for more then 2 days. the guy at the reception could not speak English at all and provided no effort to explain the situation. 2 days not be able to shower is absurd. and as compensation i got 200 bath. Wish i gave to the personal from the restaurant Pek and. Pong were the ones that made me stay in that hotel otherwise i would have left. Especially Pek he has such a lovely energy and vibe and is really helpful.

- deanosaur89 (8/5): Quiet Stay During City Shutdown - We stayed here during Chiang Mai shutdown due to covid 19 so we didn't get to experience all the amenities, but the hotel did it's best under the circumstances. Huge perks of this hotel is unlimited water bottles and hot drinks from a nescafe machine. We enjoyed several mochas, Thai teas, cappuccinos, hot chocolates and, of course, water. The hotel also has a small snack bar in the lobby with fruit and cookies. The breakfast in the morning is usually a buffet, but with the restaurant shut downs in the area the hotel only offered a la carte which included unlimited made to order noodles, fried rice, American style breakfast and a few other options. We also had breakfast ordered to our room March 24 and it came on time and hot with cold fruits, juice and milk. We stayed in the family suite with two bedrooms and found it was comfy. It was clean and the shower had good pressure and the soaps and shampoos smell nice. The rooms are not created equal with one room having large floor to ceiling windows, access to the bed from both sides and night stand lights. Both beds and the couch were very comfy. Only downsides we found to this hotel was that WiFi can be spotty in the room, the pool water is very cold and the hotel is a bit far from restaurants and walking areas (about 10 to 15 minute walk).
- ray518 (8/5): Good hotel - My family visited thailand for a holiday and the motel and restaurant people were very friendly helpful the rooms were clean and tidy the service was good. The restaurant staff were friendly and good and serve nice breakfast and lunch daily. The rooftop garden was good with nice views. The only bad things about this motel was the showers were cold with not much hot water for showering and the other bad thing is catering for dinner there is a restaurant across the road but hard to access or walk to due to that highway i would recommend getting a big footpath bridge to access the motel to restaurant or i think the restaurant were you cater for breakfast and lunch daily you should use it to open a dinner time service to your restaurant in the evening for a few hours to cater for travellers or tourists who dont have vehicles or know where restaurants are as there is none around close to motel. on the 2nd october we arrived in the afternoon/evening for 1 night again and the female and male staff at the time were not very helpful or knowing enough to what we were after or asking compared to other staff we dealt with.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Great experience - I went on vacation and was pleasently surprised by this hotel. I booked this hotel last minute. Got a two twin bed room. Positives: very clean, nice pool, nice rooms, a/c worked great, i even liked the bathrooms. The guy at the front desk (wish i would have got his name) was very very helpful. From booking our tour to ordering some pizza for us. Def went above and beyond. Approx. 10-15min from airport. Also loved that they had a coffee machine, fruits, water, and small snacks for the guest near the front desk. For a last minute booking this hotel surpassed our expectations. Negatives: The beds can be a little more comfortable, but for the few nights we were staying, it was no biggie. It is slightly away from downtown so not too many restaurants near by, but as i mentioned, front desk was very helpful in providing alternative delivery options. Overall we had a great experience.

The manager was really helpful and accommodating and went out of his way to get our meals prepared as there were certain foods on menu which we could not have. Theres unlimited supply of water in the reception area for guests also unlimited supply tea coffee and milo in reception area. Its a nice quiet area and the nearest shopping centre is 6 mins ride away ,which is a great place for food coffee movies shopping. Overall nice boutique cosy hotel.

- ocin757107 (8/5): Design hotel - We went there last october, the place is far away from the city, the location is beside the highway, you must have a car or motobike to go there, the room is unique, have a view to see the road and highway,service is so fantastic, the hotel gives you unlimited bottled water , candies and snacks and also coffee, we just stayed there two nights , we didnt use swimming because of lack of time, all amenities had there, i would recomment this hotel who need a boutique hotel that is good for money, breakfast is pretty far so good.

- jmalutan (6/5): Just Decent - Besides the modern look and newer hotel, it wasn't really that great. They did have unlimited water bottles which was nice and the breakfast and lunch hosts were very nice. They actually made the stay more welcoming. They offered to help when I got a little under the weather and just were really friendly. However, the beds were really hard not comfortable. We were there for 6 nights and it was tough to find consistent sleep. They claimed to have a shuttle bus service on the hour but they didn't. They had a very confusing shuttle bus service. I emailed them for a ride from the airport and they agreed and confirmed. I arrived at the airport and they were no where to be seen. I called them and they said that they emailed me that there was no service that day. I never received the email and just very confusing. I'd say 2.5 star for their service.

- penpons (2/5): Still need improvement. - The price I paid not really worth spending for this hotel, the mattress was really really really, hard seriously hard as if I slept on the wooden sheet and finally caused my backache and there was only 2 poor quality pillow with 2 cushions moreover there was very few choices of breakfast. However the staff there was very friendly and helpful so I hope the management will take the mattress issue seriously before no one going to stay there anymore....

- 65miko_ajb (10/5): Great hotel! - I've spent 3 nights in Twobedroom Suite. Room was great. Actually this is one of The nicest places I've ever stayed in. In The lobby there is a coffe machine and fridge with water and u can't get them for free. Breakfasts are nice. I'd Like to highlight one person from The hotel stuff. One of The breakfast waiters( can't remember his name) is literally one of The greatest people I've ever met in my entire life. U can't meet such Good person anywhere else on The world :) thank You so much for your service.

- ThailandTravel2016 (8/5): Short stay at Pause and Play Hotel. - We stayed 2 nights at Pause and Play Chiang Mai. The hotel offers free replenishment of bottled water, coffee and tea which is really great. We found the rooms to be spacious and clean. Free wifi worked well and was stable throughout. The hotel offers a daily shuttle service to the old city. Unfortunately the breakfast wasn't that good as most cooked dishes were cold and it took a long time for dishes to be replaced. Despite the breakfast not being up to standard the overall stay was satisfying.
- TravellingAngi (6/5): I hate to say it but... - The hotel looks modern and new. Guests can help themselves to unlimited supply of free hot beverages, bottles of cold water, jelly and cookies in the lobby. This was a nice surprise and a bonus. Check in was ok and the staff spoke English. There was also a free shuttle to certain shopping places. The room looks spacious and bright, with a large picture window. Layout was good. Even the shower was acceptable. Not strong but acceptable. But all these were cancelled out by 2 factors. Actually one main one. The lesser factor was that it was the location which was far from most places. It would help to have a car. But the main factor that made my stay uncomfortable were the pillows. There were 2 for both of us. Two flat pillows. We asked for extra pillows because we found it hard to sleep on the flat ones. We were told that it will cost THB 50 for each extra pillow!! I was shocked and decided not to take the "offer".
- Rajivg80 (10/5): Nice and clean "Value for money" - The hotel is quiet and clean, hotel staffs are very helpful and attentive. I stayed in "Pause and Play Hotel" for two nights with my kid. The roof top garden is great and the free shuttle service, Free unlimited drinking water bottles, free self service Coffee/Tea machine and snack vending machine adds additional value for money.
- 465longt (10/5): Great place to stay in Chiangmai - Great place to stay. Very nice and affordable. Breakfast buffet is great. Staff are very courteous and helpful. Hotel provided free snacks, water, cappuccino, and tea. Also free bicycles for getting around town. Highly recommend.
- E9569QCmichaelm (8/5): A Modern-Box Hotel with good value. - This Hotel is very clean, modern and has helpful/friendly staff. The mattress of the beds are far too hard for my comfort and well being, so they obliged by adding some softer padding under the sheet, which was a nice response after I complained at the reception. The breakfast buffet is rather disappointing as 90% of dishes are Asian; obviously as they have predominantly Chinese tourists at this hotel... They should have more and a better breakfast selection for Western clients (bacon, pancakes, waffles, baked beans, scrambled eggs etc. all missing). Service in the restaurant is very helpful. My overall rating of this hotel is good value, especially for those who value modern and new accommodation. The hotel has an excellent self-serve coffee machine in the lobby and breakfast room where you can select cappucciono, latte, black coffee etc. etc. as well as free bottled drinking water. The location is less favourable, i.e. rather far from Chiangmai's center/activities/restaurants which I thought is a definite drawback!
- salint2013 (10/5): Modern hotel a few minutes from city center - I stayed at Pause and Play hotel for 2 nights with my family and we had a very comfortable stay there. The hotel is about 10-15mins driving from Nimman road which is where busy restaurants/bars are located. I was traveling with my 84 y/o grandma so we didn't want to stay right in the middle of city. If you are want to avoid the noisy street but still easily to get there to enjoy lively atmosphere there, Pause and Play is a perfect choice. The room itself was clean, cosy and had a lot of light. The room was equipped with essential like hairdryer, tv, fridge, slippers, bathrobe and bathroom amenities. The staff was very helpful and attentive, especially the breakfast room staff who always make sure all the food choices were filled. Also, there is a free Nescafé coffee machine, free bottled water and snack vending machine in the lobby too, which is very convenient. We would definitely recommend this hotel to our friends and family!
- 250niallm (10/5): Great hotel very close to everything - We stayed two days at this hotel in Chiang Mai and were impressed with the quality and service provided. Staff were keen to assist with everything, although there are different levels of English it was refreshing that they made an effort to understand what we needed. Breakfast is great, rooms are massive and the pool area couldn't be better. We had absolutely no issues with the location, Uber was under 100 baht from pretty much everywhere in the City. It's in close proximity to MAYA mall. Overall, for the price, this hotel is a steal.
- Pukalicious (8/5): it's a nice place to stay away from the city - Personally I quite like this place, it's out of the central of Chiangmai but it's reachable by the motorcycle, the room is quite good, but a couple of things that I wasn't happy about this place are that the bed, it's sooo hard, I couldn't even sleep well and the smell in the lift, it smell like a gasoline in there. apart from these things i was happy staying there especially their staffs at the restaurant, he's good and willing to facilitate us a lot.
- noondisw (10/5): Good and recommended - Above my expectation!!! Nice staff, great accomodation, and good facility. If you need to relax, this place is recommended. Take not over 10 mins to the city so you can take the hotel shuttle bus to the city as well. Satisfy! I gonna back to stay at Pause and play hotel again real soon.👍🏻

- MetaponA (10/5): Best hotel in Chiangmai so far - I travel around chiangmai so many times already but a few last times i stay in this hotel because the location is great for those with cars. Close to city but also quiet. Really good for some people who want to have a good rest and nice wind.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Since the hotel was located near the highway a bit noisy at night or early morning. The staff were very nice & friendly but only have one staff can speak & understand English well.
