Guest Reviews
- Casey (10/5): Perfect everything I needed felt right at home - Perfect location clean staff was super nice and helpful beautiful place all around That I couldn’t smoke but that’s totally fine it’s probably to nice of a place anyways
- Jason (10/5): -
- Sara (10/5): Spacious accommodations to gather as a group when visiting from out of town. - Everything was kept very nicely and I loved the spacious suites! Much better than a standard hotel room and definitely not more expensive. We were there as a large group so it allowed us to gather in one space and enjoy our time together even when we were not sightseeing. The bedding was super comfortable and the kitchen had all the essentials. The staff was very nice and always helpful.
- Nicole (10/5): 10/10. Would stay again! - Beautiful and clean. Very helpful staff. Garage parking was easy to use and access. Walking distance to so many great restaurants and thrift stores.
- Danielle (10/5): -
- Lakresha (2/5): -
- Charisse (10/5): Overall our staff was great.. I was very please with the kitchen being well-stocked. - The main television in the Living Room did not work and the staff could not fix it. Also, we called the front desk for assistance with the fireplace and asked four times if a staff person could assist, and instead the clerk kept reading the same directions we had. Thy would not come to address the issue. We eventually figured it out, but to beg for service was not pleasant.
- Jeff (10/5): - The staff were amazing. The rooms were cleaned to a T. It was nice to have a garage. There was only one bad thing, 4pm check in. We called months again to see if they could do 2pm / 3pm, they said there not much they can do. On the day of arriving, I tried to explain that we had an 445pm appt. I hope they can change to 3pm local time for others.
- TaShonda (9/5): Would stay again - Spacious No tvs in bedroom
- Meghan (10/5): I would stay here again! - The location was great, and the room we stayed in was fantastic! The staff were super nice, and overall it was a great experience. The paid parking was a great option, as it was a spot in an actual garage. I expected it to maybe be an open lot or something, so this was way more secure than I had thought it would be. Honestly, not much could be improved! The layout of the hotel is split up and so I did end up in the wrong hallway at one point, but it was easy enough to get myself back where I belonged.
- Victor (8/5): Solid but felt not appreciated - Character and size of units We were told that the rate we received through booking was a mistake. The staff almost seemed upset of “error” and was unwilling to consider extending our stay by one day despite it being a weekday.
- Oliver (10/5): perfect place to stay in Chicago - great kitchen, balcony and location. lovely breakfast place next door
- Julie (10/5): Our new favorite Chicago hotel! - We loved everything about this hotel! It was so cute and rooms were spacious and the layout was incredibly kid friendly even with our chaotic one year old! They had everything we could have needed and more. We literally loved everything.
- Luis (1/5): -
- Karen (10/5): Great place to stay with family - Large apartment type units More living room seating
- FionaSunnyDay (10/5): -
- Kristin (10/5): - Very spacious and comfortable. Friendly staff.
- Kenneth (8/5): - The closeness to the concert venue, it was less then a 10 minute walk. The café a few doors down had amazing coffee and food. Had everything in the room. Washer/dryer, dishwasher, tableware and balcony with bbq.
- Sottile (10/5): Luxurious, spacious, immaculate, affordable hotel within walking distance to the Aragon Ballroom. - Location perfect for walk to music venue, and local restaurants. Check-in staff was very friendly. The suite was glorious! Clean, comfortable, and very relaxing atmosphere. One of the French doors on the middle bedroom would not close. The door needs to be re-hung or the latch on the frame at the top of the door adjusted. My son just switched rooms. No big deal, but thought you should know.
- Christopher (9/5): Great hotel. Neighbors not so much. - Clean, large rooms with everything you need. Nice lobby and gifts available. Had a noisy neighbor above us that didn't get the memo on quiet hours. Constant running and stomping during odd hours.
- Eeten (10/5): -
- Nancy (9/5): Comfortable and nice location. - Nice sitting area. Good supply of shampoo, conditioner and lotion. Good coffee and tea in room and lobby. Like being located in Andersonville. Some street noise in bedroom. Water could have been hotter for showers. One shower had low water pressure. No coffee or tea in lobby until 7 am - not good for early flights.
- Megan (6/5): Nice - Lovely Maid walked in our room no knocking nothing at 9:30am wasn’t happy with that. Wasn’t offered compensation or anything.
- DePaula (9/5): Enjoyable with the limited time we had. - Coziness, cleanliness & location. Checkin time was too late at 4pm, yet check-out was earlier than industry standards at 10am.
No 1 BR units were available, so we had to book a 2BR unit, and having a 6 hour difference between check-in and check-out seemed a bit excessive based on room rates.
- Angela (8/5): - It’s across a cemetery which made the stay a little eerie.
- Kevin (10/5): Perfect Hotel in Chicago - I had such a wonderful stay at the Guesthouse Hotel during a recent business trip to Chicago! My flight arrived earlier than expected, and the friendly staff went above and beyond to accommodate an early check-in, which made such a difference after traveling. The entire team was exceptional, professional, and welcoming.
The hotel itself was spotless, beautifully maintained, and in a stunning location that made it easy to walk to so many great spots in the city. I would highly recommend this hotel, especially for families or anyone traveling with more than one person, as the space and amenities are perfect for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
I’m truly grateful for such a positive experience and will absolutely return on my next trip to Chicago!
- Valeria (10/5): -
- Ahmed (10/5): - Very spacious apartment at an excellent price and very nice staff
- Verified traveler (10/5): Fantastic place to stay - Really loved everything about it! The staff were great, the accommodations were everything I could have hoped for, the rooftop deck was beautiful and the location was fantastic!
- Jessa Rae (10/5): I will definitely be staying there again! - I was not prepared for how nice and well stocked the place was with amenities. The photos do not do this place justice.
- Douglas (10/5): - Great hotel experience! Thank you!!!
- David (8/5): - A very charming, conveniently located (Andersonville) boutique hotel. The suites are large, clean, & comfortable. Take note, however, that there are NO TVs in the bedrooms. The shower water pressure was pretty weak, as well. Staff were friendly and helpful.
- Gordon (10/5): -
- Paige (10/5): I can’t think of a better place to stay the next time we come to Chicago. - The lobby and staff were very inviting. The suite itself was lovely and perfect walking distance from the venue of the show we came to see. Check out was a little earlier than I’m used to.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - The rooms are spacious, modern , quiet & very clean. Having a kitchen access to parking is a plus! The staff is friendly and helpful. Hidden gem on Chicago's Northside. Better than a BnB!
- Chris (10/5): Awesome place - Great location great property. Would definitely stay again
- gregory (10/5): - Nice accommodation, curious lack of charging ports for electronic devices bedside. Very helpful staff found an extension cord for me to solve the issue
- Rachael (10/5): Great place to stay! - Spacious, very clean, and friendly staff
- Cherie (10/5): Exceptional -

- Jason (10/5): Excellent location with charming staff.a great neighborhood to walk around - Charming place They gym could of had a small set of free weights
- Tricia (9/5): Loved feeling like we were a part of the city instead of just visiting! - Clean and plenty of space Nothing!
- Deepak (10/5): Great value wished I could’ve stayed longer - The 3 bedroom apartment was awesome - very well equipped and beds were very comfortable. Extra points for the steam shower which was very welcome in the Chicago snowy weather
- Chelsea (10/5): Lovely, spacious, and homey. - Very clean, beautifully appointmentes building, quite spacious. I only stayed a short time but could envision the apartment style rooms being very comfortable in the long term. Mine included two bedrooms and a full kitchen.
- KAMIL (10/5): - Great location, felt very safe and comfortable. Would love to stay again!
- Susan (10/5): - We have stayed here twice and absolutely love it. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed. The staff is helpful and responsive. This area is very walkable and there are many great restaurants nearby.
- Judith (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fredrick (10/5): - Incredibly helpful and friendly staff. Check in and check out a breeze. Everything you could need for an overnight or an extended stay! Loved the collection of local items in the kitchen and the discount for showing your room key at the nearby Jeni’s!
- Stacy (10/5): - Great place to stay!
- Deborah (10/5): Spacious and gracious - This is a beautiful boutique hotel that felt both spacious and gracious
- Lemuel (10/5): Excellent - If the location works for a person or group, it has everything else for a short or long stay. Excellent for the cost.
- henry (10/5): Wonderful Stay - Comfortable and quiet! Will be back.
- Leslie (10/5): - I have only one complaint, and it is that the bed was a bit lumpy. Otherwise, it's a lovely property and the employees are friendly and helpful.
- Kathleen (10/5): - You're gonna say, "OMG across the street from a cemetery? next to an auto shop?" But this place is wonderful! Great library. Comfortable lounges. Spacious accommodations. Super friendly and helpful staff. Truly excellent accommodations. If luck is on my side, this will be my lodging whenever I visit Chicago.
- Kent (10/5): - Very spacious and open space
- Heather (7/5): Enjoyed our stay; nice decor; met our needs - The apartment was very nice and quiet. A well stocked kitchen and a large bathroom. The staff were very uneven. I walked in with 3 bags using a cane and the gentleman at the front desk did not offer to help, just watched me struggle. He reluctantly offered to help me take up a bag after checking me in and I tipped him, of course. Although he took one bag leaving me with two bags and a tote to wrangle myself. Over the course of the five days the staff were constantly gossiping at the front desk complaining about their manager, etc. Unprofessional and unpleasant to hear.
One pet peeve: the hotel does not provide any cleaning during the stay. They did remove the trash when asked. But it would have been nice to have the living room carpet vacuumed. You are expected to do your own cleaning.
So this hotel is an odd hybrid of an AirBnB and a hotel. Finally, the location is in an emerging neighborhood. Not necessarily the safest, as my son pointed out. Not really an issue for us as we took Ubers everywhere and didn’t walk the neighborhood. But good to know.
- Michelle (10/5): Loved Our Stay; looking forward to next time! - Spotlessly clean and very, very comfy. We walked in fresh from a stressful few weeks and walked out totally rested and ready for whatever’s next. The lobby is very pretty and welcoming. Everyone in the staff we had any contact with was delightful. Loved the neighborhood. Entire shopping up and down the street and music at Green Mill. Highly recommend all of it!
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Philip (10/5): - Great place friendly stsff
- Sally (10/5): senior gal - Lovely accommodations. I was upgraded which was delightful. I'm fairly picky but have no complaints or criticisms. Clean, fresh bedding, amazing kitchen. I'll be back! More like wishes. I would have liked a TV in the bedroom. A light and table on the window side of the couch where the plugs are so you can charge your devices.
- Nassim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (8/5): I didn’t want to leave to attend the events we were in town for. It was that special!! - Loved it! Our unit was spacious and comfortable. Will stay again. Nothing
- Kimberly (10/5): Everything was fantastic! Will definitely stay again! - It was absolutely gorgeous, homey, and clean!! I swear it is nicer than my home! We had the 3-room suite. Amazing with a fireplace, balcony, full kitchen. Lobby was so nice with hot chocolate and cookies. Santa was there decorating cookies with the young children. There was a cafe next door with great food too! Nothing not to like!
- B. (10/5): - Great hotel!! Much better than we expected and the staff was great. Will DEFINITELY be staying here again during my next visit to Chicago.
- Erin (8/5): Great neighborhood find! - Loved the lobby and the local products displayed and for sale everywhere. The mattress in our room (404) was lumpy and it dipped in the middle. Too soft - it ruined sleep for both me and my partner. Also, the living area was a Lille sterile. Could use some soft textured touches and some cozy blankets to use while watching tv
- Tanner (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ryan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elva (10/5): - It was a lovely and charming hotel in a very nice area with plenty of restaurants and venues in walking distance)
- Samuel (10/5): - This is my 3rd time staying there. I absolutely love this guesthouse!
- Alexis (10/5): Perfect boutique hotel that feels like home away from home. We will be back! - Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Clean and fresh suite. Stocked with everything you might need if you planned on cooking. We did not cook but appreciated the full size fridge and coffee pot. Found Clorox wipes under the sink (my husband was sick and wanted to wipe down some surfaces). Needed scissors to cut off some tags and was pleasantly surprised to find some in the first drawer I opened. Beds were very comfortable, bathrooms well appointed. Living room furniture was a bit uncomfortable (but looks great). Didn't keep us from lounging.
- Trish (10/5): Awesome-will be back! - Excellent location! Loved the retro lobby and library. Beautiful and spacious apartment with a modern kitchen equipped with everything we could possibly need. Comfy beds. Ample parking. Special thanks to Dee at the front desk for great recommendations.
- Stephanie (8/5): My stay was nice could have been better with the tv - I liked the location and the space of the room. The patio was nice. Clean room . No tv in the room at all. I booked the 2 bedroom for the tv in the main bedroom but still no tv . Only in the living room
- Alain (10/5): Exceptional -
- Larry (10/5): The Guesthouse is top notch, luxurious and spacious, definitely a winner. - the suite was quite spacious and well equipped. the staff was wonderful, very respectful and service-oriented. - B (10/5): Exceptional -
