Guest Reviews
- Diane (7/5): A BEAUTIFUL SHADED PORCH - The Avalon's location is one of its strong points along with its large outdoor covered porch with plenty of seating & shade. Right next door to the Avalon is the Hollander Hotel. The Hollander also has a covered front porch; and a restaurant which serves breakfast, lunch, dinner & snacks. There is also a full service bar. We had some difficulty with our a/c unit; the first one froze. I think that's also what happened to the 2nd unit. Since we were in St Petersburg to celebrate our granddaughter's graduation from high school, we spent very little time in our suite other than sleeping. We left early in the morning & didn't return until 8PM & sometimes much later. So we would return to a hot suite when all we wanted to do is take a shower & go to sleep. I must say the staff did their best to make us comfortable; even purchasing a fan so we had 2 floor fans & 1 ceiling fan on one night just to be able to sleep. We spoke to the the General Manager who refunded our money for our stay; we requested one night's refund since we left one day earlier than our reservation. He concluded that he should give us a full refund for our troubles. Yes, we definitely would stay here again even with our experience explained above. This was our 5th time staying here & our 1st time having any problems at all.
- Jerry (9/5): - The hollander Hotel next-door with the pool and tap room bar and Resturant
- diana (9/5): I love the people, food access, beautiful pool and bars. - Liked the staff, water access, and coffee shop nearby. pull out couch was terrible and old looking mattress. King bed was very hard.
Room does smell stuffy/old but it is an old building.
stove is terrible to have buttons that accidentally turn on....should be lock on it.
Calamari used to be the best in the whole world but now it's standard and nothing impressive. Waiter asked chef and he said the supply is no longer available. I had for 3+ years the calamari but no more...so sad :(

- W6920BUcherylk (10/5): Chic Vibes - The Avalon is a great place to vibe in St. Pete, me and my friends stayed there this past week and let me tell you, it was all love! First let me say love the fact they have a wine and champagne happy hour ..very cool. Trasha came over to help another desk agent out and she was so attentive and funny she poured wine and champagne while telling us all the things to do in the area , well recommended 4th Street Shrimp Store was delicious!!!! We will be back !!! Thx again!!!
- Brad (10/5): Love this hotel. Great location and walking distance to everything! - Rooms are very comfortable. Nice mattress and pillows. Location is fantistic for walking everywhere in downtown St. Pete. None. Have stayed here a few times and it's great!
- Danielle (10/5): -
- P5637VUnataliej (10/5): Great Experience!!! - When staying at the Avalon when we walked the the lobby was so beautiful and chic, we were greeted briefly by Trisha I think she was working at the Hollander, but she made sure we got in and settled, Natalie checked us in and she was also great! Love the Happy Hour wine and champagne that’s a great perk! The cookies and the coffee are so good.. This hotel experience was a magnificent one and will tell all my friends about it…. Thanks to all of you it was a good time!

- kbr1352 (10/5): The Avalon Hotel is Great!!! - I was very impressed with this boutique hotel’s fabulous location! The rooms have full kitchens! Plus the customer service that Larissa gave was truly outstanding!!! I definitely will return to this hotel!!!
- Brittany (10/5): Will definitely be back - Location No smart tvs in rooms
- James (8/5): -
- J5009URbrittanyr (10/5): Perfect birthday trip - Location is super convenient to bars, shops and restaurants. The rooms do not have smart tvs but that was an easy fix by having a fire stick delivered. But the staff, especially Ethan (Etta), made my birthday trip amazing! He was so friendly and knowledgeable about the area which in turn lead to wonderful food and things to do. This was my first time to the area let alone this hotel but will most definitely be back!!
- Teri (9/5): Very nice stay and wonderful staff! - Decor was great. Bathroom is small, but sufficient. Patio was ok. Staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Coffee in the am and wine in the afternoon. Pool was beautiful and bar and restaurant very good! We walked to parks, beach, museums, restaurants and shuffleboard club! Lots to do!
- R3465IOchristopherr (10/5): Best Stay EVER! - This place is AMAZING! Larissa and Ethan (Etta) are insanely amazing! They single handedly made our stay priceless. The amenities (next door) and the room, and the personal service is like no other. If you're planning a trip to St. Petersburg, you HAVE to stay here!
- Cristina (10/5): Clean and affordable! - It was clean and the decor was so beautiful! The staff were all very friendly and the complimentary water bottles are a plus!
- Peters (6/5): It was ok staff great but room was small and noisy - Location to centre Room we had on first night very noisy close to road and stuffy
- Bobby L (10/5): - Great room with a great location
- Sean (7/5): -
- Ronald (8/5): -
- Carlos (10/5): - Clean
- Glenn (9/5): -
- Joseph (8/5): - Low key
- Joseph (10/5): MLB Ballpark Tour - Great location, access to all the amenities at the Hollander next door, room was small but cozy and comfortable, nice covered sitting area out front, plentiful free bottled water Hard to find a parking spot, although parking was free
- derekmR2779QJ (10/5): A+ for Avalon - Had the best time this week!! Everything about the stay was awesome all around but the one thing I noticed that stuck out to me and my friends was the hospitality and just overall helpfulness of Natalie and Brian. Super attentive and on their game we will def be back to see them soon!!
- aubreym535 (10/5): Amazing stay! - Stayed at the avalon last week for a wedding and was so happy with my stay we had no idea it was there and such a happy surprise, the staff were so incredible and accommodating, it was a huge help with recommendations!
Can’t wait to come back
- Christine (8/5): -
- Escape10817531975 (8/5): Would Stay Here Again, Would Recommend - Would stay again, for sure, might try sister hotel (Hollander) just to compare.
Charming, artsy lobbies and other spaces in both hotels; staff is always available and friendly; parking - super convenient and free; pool - smallish but attractive with fountains and ledge seating, plenty of poolside seating, both shaded and unshaded, pool bar, and lots of towels always available.
The restaurant, Tap Room, is very convenient and offers inside and outside Patio (with street view) dining and a bakery area with cakes, muffins, and coffee that is nice for mornings or after dinner treat to take to your room. From the hotel it is not a far walk to the Pier area (maybe 15 - 20 minutes) and there is a trolley stop across street from the hotel if you prefer.
Our room was fine - it was very clean, the bed was very comfortable, the AC worked well, and we slept well. It was though, imo, a little dark and could have used a floor lamp behind the armchair. Also, another painting or artwork on one of the blank walls would go a long way, again imo, to match the room’s “ambiance” to the rest of the hotels’ vibe (in the lobbies, patios, pool, and halls). Note: our room did not have a refrigerator - if that’s important to you, you need to ask about that because I think some rooms do.
- Sven (8/5): - Die Lage. Sehr Zentral. Zimmergröße nicht wie angegeben. Die Dusche war leicht undicht. Toilettenbürste fehlte. Zimmer war kleiner als die angegebenen 27m2.
- Mary (10/5): -
- Marek (8/5): -
- Michelle (10/5): It was awesome can’t wait to come back - The location was awesome! Love the vintage feel it had! The AC was a bit loud
- Gayathri (9/5): -
- Glenda912 (10/5): Baseball Game - Great location, clean, and fun atmosphere.
- Mylène (7/5): Très bien pour une Halte - Très bon emplacement pour se balader dans la ville
Hôtel ancien rénové avec du charme Place de parking inexistante la nuit , très compliqué de se stationner malgré le pass fourni par l’hôtel
- Keith (8/5): -
- Russell (8/5): Comfortable hotel with a nice feel - Easy check in and nice room on second floor. Bottles of water on the front desk counter and coffee and cookies at breakfast time. Good AC but it’s directed straight at the bed so had to sleep in a draft. Good TV channel choices and decent shower. The car park was full when I arrived at around 15:30 so I parked on a nearby street. Old building on 3 floors and just one slow elevator.
- Edward (4/5): - Staff Room very small. Layout of bathroom was cramped and inconvenient. No outside view other than a wall from next building over.
- stanley (10/5): - ENTIRE STAFF..
- Tammy (3/5): - The staff was very friendly and helpful. I give them 5 stars. Thr lobby was nice but once you got upstairs it was very disappointing. Very outdated and the carpet was nasty. The carpet had to have been there for at least 20 years. I wouldn't walk on it without shoes. The shower was a little bit dangerous. It was slippery when stepping into it and at had a slop to it. I felt like I was gonna fall. The doors lock but it could use a safety latch. It did not feel very safe.
On a good note, it was very convenient to walk downtown with the shops and restaurant and the pier.
- Mia Sarolt (9/5): -
- Dmitri V (9/5): Very pleasant stay in the heart of St. Pete. - Location was excellent. Staff was most friendly. Wine-in-the-lobby was a nice perk. I wish there were more power outlets in the room.
- Maria C (8/5): -
- Dianne (8/5): - Girl at the front desk check in with super nice super informative and just a super nice personality
- Dahiana (6/5): - The tub was dirty.
- Angela (10/5): Great stay very accommodating, highly recommend! -
- Charles-Henri (8/5): Une expérience sympa dans un hôtel qui a du charme - Le côté vintage des chambres et équipements..la proximité d’un musée.. la propreté et la gratuité du parking Rien à signaler
- Barbara (8/5): Convenient location - The location is excellent. The stop for the city loader bus was half a block away. That gave us free transportation to all the sites we wanted to see. I like an electric tea kettle or coffee maker in the room. The room was small but the price was good
- Alan (8/5): -
- Lara (9/5): Good location, meh room - The location was perfect and the staff was great. The room smelled musty and felt very stuffy.
- Tina (6/5): Just okay - Free and convenient parking, shuttle service. Restaurant, pool Room, bathroom, spa not open on the weekend.
- Yente (6/5): Just fine, nothing special - It was ok, nothing special. Bit expensive for what it was really. More of a motel than a hotel vibe.
- Meyr (9/5): Very nice little hotel. - Walking distance to lots of restaurants and the bay. Very nice pool area. Room was very nice but small. Nothing.
- Michael (9/5): Avalon was comfortable and location was perfect - Location was perfect and the bed was ultra comfortable Nothing
- Dee (9/5): -
- Lilian (10/5): Convenient for a short stay! - Convenient location! Eclectic and artsy! Easy to get too.. Room is a bit small crowded either furniture. Bathroom extremely small two people wouldn’t fit in it. No room for hanging wet towels
- Emma (2/5): - Area Old hotel, smell in rooms, dark.
- May (10/5): -
- Maria (10/5): -
- Corinne (7/5): Our stay was fine, but it wasn’t what we had expected. - I liked the breakfast. There were a lot of choices. The room was small, but fine. The bathroom was very tiny and had a sloping floor. Rm. 333
I was impressed with the cleanliness of the bathroom and the cleaning staff.
- James (10/5): - Staff was excellent, atmosphere and vibe of Hotel was amazing.
- Roussel (8/5): -
- Ina (10/5): SoloTrip - There’s no continental breakfast, but a coffee shop is located in the lobby. The coffee was really good
- Denise (9/5): -
- KarenG909 (8/5): Nice place to visit - Lovely modern decorating with neon masked astronauts and fun colors in the lobby. Rooms were nicely appointed but small. Bathroom was very clean-two of us made do well. Staff responded to questions with sincerity. The sister hotel, the Hollander was dark, but nicely decorated with sculpture. The Tap room was where we had breakfast, and then drinks. Both very good. Plenty of parking. The Looper’ trolley stop was across the street and very informative.
- Kateryna (9/5): -
- Fatima (10/5): - Clean and really close to everything around.
- Kristina (2/5): -
- Melissa (10/5): -
- Marat (9/5): -

- Lucy (10/5): -
- Uliser (10/5): Excelente - Very Good Todo muy bien
- Randilyn (10/5): Excellent 🤘 - Walking up was awesome! Such a fun retro atmosphere. Check in was fast , easy , and friendly. Our suite was awesome , with the best terrace, as it looked over 4th ave.
Room was clean , comfy , and spacious. All the amenities you could need to stay for a week or a month. We came for a show at Janus Live ( 4 blocks away) , Uber was easy and so was walking. The sister hotel nextdoor has great food and drinks and a pool!!
Super great experience and look forward to staying again. Plus there is a grounds cat ( whether grounds knows or not) that is super friendly and awaiting pets!!
- Anna (10/5): -
- Miller (2/5): never again - The hollander next door, they had a nice pool, friendly staff, and good food. Found fleas in the room, and housekeeping stole my perfume
- Laura (8/5): -
- David (10/5): Perfect - Great location Nothing loved it
- Stephon (10/5): -
- David (10/5): -
- Julian (10/5): overall a great stay and exceeded expectations - location of hotel, the bed was comfortable and access to the pool and bar bathroom rather small, and lighting in main room was too dim
- Niki (10/5): Perfect weekend get away across the bridge! Would stay again - Clean. Comfortable. Great location- walking distance to restaurants and bars. even a shuttle
van to take you nearby. Great happy hour and porch to hang out on. Funky st. pete vibes at affordable price. Bonus- adorable Hotel cat 😽 nada!
- S2237CXjackiej (10/5): Cleanest hotel room ever - The cleanliness of the rooms at the Avalon Hotel was outstanding! Everything was spotless from the moment I arrived — fresh linens, sparkling bathrooms, and no detail overlooked (cause I was looking to be sure). You can tell the housekeeping staff takes great pride in their work. Knowing the room was top tier made my stay extremely comfortable and relaxing! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone I know!!! I will definitely be staying here again!! Thank you Avalon Hotel Housekeeping!!
- Jensen (7/5): Could have been a better experience! - Good location with private parking Horrible room by the noisy elevator. 😡😡Impossible to sleep. No breakfast available except at nearby Hollander… which was not recommended😩
- Bari (7/5): -
- jacquesbO2995EL (10/5): Great location to start your visit of St-Petersburg on foot. Leave your car at the Hotel. - We spent two nights at the Avalon, December 26 and 27 2025. We had our two grown children with us. It is a boutique hotel with a friendly atmosphere, and the staff makes you feel at home. Rooms are clean and comfortable. GThe complimentary happy hour, with free wine and champagne, is a great way to mingle with the other guests. The hotel is centrally located, just a short 15-minute walk to the pier.
- CLAUDIA (8/5): Great for a weekend - Simple but nice. The smell
- Erik (9/5): -
- glenn (8/5): -
- Robert (10/5): Cool vibe. Great and friendly staff. Needs some work when it comes to parking. - Really cool decor. Not a cookie cutter place. Parking sucks. Doesn’t appear that they monitor their parking lots to ensure that the paying guests have a spot.
