- Justin (10/5): Best Bali vibes I could ask for, absolutely will be back. Wish I could stay a week - Everything, the place was amazing and the service was excellent Nothing
- Gemma (10/5): Heavenly. - Absolutely heavenly stay. I’ll definitely be returning. I Dont want to leave!!! I was so zen the entire time and the service was phenomenal.
- Hannah (9/5): Beautiful hotel, lovely, kind and helpful staff. Excellent location right above Baked! - We had a great stay at The Slow. Such a cool hotel, we loved the size of our room and the design was amazing. The bed was very comfortable too. Would have been great to have access to a pool to cool off on the very hot days. However we knew when booking our room didn't have a pool but once we were there we wished we did!

- Lee (6/5): A hotel that was conceived brilliantly and is currently coasting on it. The Slow is still open. It’s just not quite aliv - The design.…tropical brutalism that still holds up a decade in with raw concrete, wood and style sensibilities. The main reason I had it on my list…they built something real here. The room is spacious and lovely. Nice for a couple. Good spot Sadly it’s past its day…feels like the original concept has been abandoned and is just running on fumes.
The noise isn’t great…Zero acoustic insulation from the street or from neighbouring rooms. For a hotel selling slowness and retreat…this is not a small problem.
Small things like USB-only charging by the bed feels very dated. The music…only theirs via the speaker. Eight songs on a loop. By day six I knew every word. Originally a live curated vinyl radio station…. now a playlist someone forgot to update.
The pool is fully shaded..Private but unusable in any real swim or meaningful sun-seeking sense.
Cool-hotel affectations that only work when everything else is delivering.

- Yu-Jo (10/5): Perfect - I really love the industrial interior design of the room.

- Rachana (8/5): Awesome - Bf was good . Clean rooms all amenities were working excellent location Liked everything. Except if someone has problem with stairs be careful and ask as there is no lift
- nadiye (5/5): Superficially great, substantively lacking - On the surface, aesthetically The Slow is beautiful - gorgeous furnishings, stylish decor and cute add ons like the music button to instantly fill the place with ambient sounds. Proportions were nice. I booked the Slow based on it having The Slow Kitchen & Bar which is advertised as onsite and with live music / DJs and facilities like breakfast and coffee available. In short, a fundamental reason I booked was for the ease and convenience. 48 hours before the visit I was told breakfast would be available but the kitchen was temporarily unavailable so I could take it in my room if I preferred. However on check in I was informed there is no on site restaurant / coffee facilities / breakfast and hasn’t been since 2016. Despite complaining directly, this wasn’t adequately addressed and despite requesting a partial monetary contribution / partial refund to account for this, it was refused. It’s still being advertised as having this onsite. Booking.com also failed to address or reply to my concerns.
There is a martini bar, but no coffee or tea available in the room. The door to the bathroom didn’t close fully - fine if you’re solo but not if you’re sharing the room with someone.

- Molly (5/5): The hotel has lost its original charm. - The rooms are spacious and cool design. I’ve been to this property 3 times. Firstly, they removed the reception and the cafe. It’s now replaced with Baked which feels bit odd as a hotel. Our room was near the bathroom so we kept bumping into people when we walked out of our room.
The noise is crazy so you can’t really sleep. It’s not what it used to be. Such a shame!
- Ben (1/5): Very dissappointing - - Our friends weee staying there for one night. They checked-out immediately the next day as they could not sleep due to the noise from the street. Zero noise isolation.
We had to cancel due to food poisoning. They requested proactively a doctors certificate so they could refund us. We sent it. After that they said that they still need to look into it and never replied back. What type of behavior is this?!?!
- Alain (10/5): Great stay for design lovers - Spacious, nicely designed Noisy streets

- Faith (10/5): Just wow. - AMAZING. Came here to photo the building (I am an Architect). The Architecture exceeded expectations. Nothing. Simply that I didn't stay long enough! Absolutely incredible.
- Trent (3/5): Disappointing for price! No pool, outdoor area at all - only room space. - The internals of the room itself were lovely. Great decor and mood and couldn’t fault the room itself. No communal pool to use. Restaurant not open and noisy with construction and workers. Very noisy location of our room next to side street/lane way both day and night. Sliding glass doors and windows to room are not sound proof so motorbike and street noise very loud.
- Paul (10/5): Loved the room and pool. Comfortable and on-point aesthetics. Staff very attentive - Loved the room and pool. Comfortable and on-point aesthetics. Staff very attentive
- worldangel1337 (8/5): My Preferred Hotel in the Canggu Area - My preferred hotel for surf trips - walking distance to the beach and all the restaurants and bars in the area. The restaurant on the ground floor is under renovation though, so it's very noisy and looks bad.
- Yelena (10/5): Wonderful experience - Amazing Nothing
- Sharoun (8/5): -
- Megan (8/5): Lovely experience at the Slow! Please see above for my in depth review. - Such a beautiful space and the staff were AMAZING and so helpful and friendly. There were a lot of really lovely details in the room and the facilities too that made it special, e.g. complementary DIY espresso martinis, plus all of the complementary bits and bobs in the bathroom like earplugs, inspect repellent etc. the sound system in the room was a cool touch too. Everything felt really stylish and well thought out.
The staff were also kind enough to offer me a free breakfast both days to apologize for the construction on their restaurant. The food was really great and the staff were super attentive and easy to communicate with via WhatsApp. Super central area as well and close to lots of great restaurants etc and the beach. I was a little bit disappointed after booking to find out that there was no communal pool available, this wasn’t apparent to me via the listing as photos of a pool come up (I appreciate now that there is only one room that has a pool within), and I only found out after receiving a message from booking.com with my confirmation. I would recommend including this in the listing clearly as the images are deceiving.
The sound was also incredibly hard to sleep with, despite using the earplugs (I’m also not a light sleeper generally). It would be great if the owners could look into double glazing or a better soundproof solution, because I think the place could be really really great if that were fixed :)
- Trestin (10/5): -
- Nicki (9/5): Great location and beautiful hotel - The room and pool are beautifully designed, close to many restaurants, and walking distance to the beach.

- Eva (10/5): -
- Meagan (10/5): We loved it and would stay again - Location and ambience of room Barking dog next door and road noise
- Madeleine (10/5): The most comfortable and luxurious stay in canggu. - The suite was super spacious and well designed in terms of space. Every touch of furnishing was beautiful and turn down service was thoughtful every night. Lack of bar/restaurant at the lobby.
- GLEB L (10/5): - a real piece of design close to the beach and tons of dining opportunities
- Natasha (7/5): A great small boutique style accomodation in a good location but be prepared for it to be noisy. - We loved our stay at The Slow. The room was spacious, a modern slick design, with a cool aesthetic and vibe.
The downside was the noise. Whilst we were prepared for some noise being right on a Main Street. You could hear everything including people talking outside. We requested a room away from the street however our room was on a side street where staff parked their bikes. Unfortunately, it made it really hard to stay asleep at night, which took away from an otherwise amazing stay with great staff that were very helpful and attentive.
- Ai Rene (7/5): - Great staff, friendly and helpful. Location is very central and close to beach. Plush towels and good amenities. Breakfast was great Very noisy, no pool facilities
- Raoul (2/5): -
- Kelly (8/5): Great location and the most friendly staff - This is our second stay . We love the location and the staff are really friendly and helpful . Large rooms and comfortable beds. good wardrobe space also . A complimentary breakfast was offered which was generous A few nights were really noisy with traffic and dogs.
It’s a shame that the cafe was closed and the lobby space had lost its vibe a little - we loved being able to sit out the front and have a morning coffee and watch the world go by.
- Hayley (6/5): great staff, great room but disappointing that the bar and communal area was a ghost town. - fantastic room, bed was comfortable and exceeded expectations there I booked here as it is advertised as having a bar and a bit of a social vibe where, as traveling alone, I could meet people but the bar was only open for breakfast and this was not commutated beforehand. Real shame that there is no pool and that it felt very flat - absolutely no social scene which was the whole reason I booked. Also noisy - not that this could be helped due to location but I felt I needed to get away as it was a little intense at night.
- Z1375HLmariekev (8/5): Wonderful rooms but lobby/bar/restaurant is closed - The rooms are spacious and wonderfully modern designed. Good mattress. The bathroom is large and includes all amenities you need (including mosquito repellent, toothbrush). This hotel has no swimming pool, but it is a 6 minute walk to the beach The only disappointing issue was that the bar/restaurant was closed as there was a disagreement between the hotel owner and the bar owner so it came across as quite deserted. Once it will open again, this could very well be the place to be.
- Cory (10/5): - The environment and the design of the rooms plus the staff were so accommodating and friendly
- Driss (10/5): Parfait. - Excellent de tout point de vue, les chambres sont grandes et très bien pensé. la deco est superbe et l’emplacement est génial. Pour moi on peut pas faire mieux. léger problème d’insonorisation on entends parfois lorsqu’il y a du bruit dehors.
- Ayesha (8/5): - The design of the room, it was so spacious. Location was perfect. They offered daily complimentary breakfast. Staff were very attentive & fast. Its very noisy, we can hear everything outside and we can hear our neighbors upstairs or anyone passing outside. I just wish there was sound proof.
- Andrew (8/5): - We loved the location, the friendliness of the staff, the decor and architecture of the hotel. It was kept very clean and any requests for water or ice were always promptly met. Someone was always available to assist. The rooms are lovely and spacious, giving a relaxed feel. The on-site restaurant and bar had closed and no room service was available. For those checking in late at night, this could be a problem. A few minor things like no extra pillows in the room or ironing board. Minor but for the price, should be in the room. Also note that the pools in the pool suite are not heated and are not in the sun, so can be on the colder side.
- Paul (3/5): Don’t bother. Exterior looks like the roof is falling in - Rooms are uber cool No food and beverage at all!!
Can’t even get a coffee!
- Mohamed (9/5): Superb -
- Adriano (9/5): Tough to sleep with so much noise coming from the street, even if we had the most quiet room - The interior design of the rooms is amazing The noise from the Main Street is way too much
- Niki (8/5): A stylish peaceful hotel in the centre of Canggu. - . The art was incredible. Service amazing. Room very large and comfortable, No functional kitchen in the hotel so no drinks/food available,
- Alice (9/5): Superb -
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional - It was a clean, spacious hotel in a good location. The staff was really polite and helpful. We had a good time. -
- Gaurav (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yesim (10/5): Exceptional - Such a cool vibe that they created in rooms. I would definitely come back again!
- Alma (7/5): Stylish and spacious stay at The Slow, but poor sound insulation disrupts sleep. - I really loved my stay at The Slow. The room was beautiful l spacious, well designed, and they were super generous with what they provided. It definitely has a great aesthetic and vibe. The only major downside was the noise. The windows have almost no sound insulation, so I could hear everything; traffic, people talking, even the reception phone ringing. Unfortunately, it made it really hard to stay asleep at night, which took away from an otherwise amazing stay.
- Luke (8/5): Very good - The slow is in the perfect location right in the middle of Canggu! Being so central there is obviously a little bit of outside noise but I found it not at all disruptive. I also love the design of the property is superb with an industrial/vintage/tropical style - I would love my home to look like this! The pool suites really do feel like a private oasis and the complimentary espresso martini kit was a great touch. Staff were also lovely, friendly and helpful. I would have loved to have spent much longer here than my short stay allowed. I visited this property prior to Covid pandemic and at the time the bar/restaurant was owned/managed by the hotel. At the time it had a great atmosphere that complimented the accommodation and had great food and drinks. And was probably of a higher standard than alot of the surrounding food & beverage options. . Post pandemic the restaurant is now managed seperately to the hotel and it does not seem to have the same atmosphere and offerings as before which is noticeable given the venues in the surrounding area are very busy and buzzing and have become a much higher standard.
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Di (10/5): Super comfortable space, aesthetically pleasing, perfect location! - I loved the location, I loved the decor, the scale and the private pool. The staff were super helpful. I also loved the service that freely flows from the restaurant cafe, despite being a separate business they work seamlessly together. Would definitely stay there again.
- Jessica (9/5): Superb -
- Melanie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Travis (10/5): Beautiful Rooms. Stunning - Amazing rooms. Great food. Beautiful Shower was a bit underwhelming. But that’s Bali
- Travis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lynn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Okoronkwo (10/5): Insane - Amazing place. The rooms are stunning: spacious, minimalist, and filled with natural light. Waking up to the soft sounds of the neighborhood and sipping coffee from the in-room bar felt like a morning ritual worth savouring. The bed? Like sleeping in a cloud. Nothing
- Chingchun (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maleka (5/5): Passable -
- Christopher (10/5): Killer hideaway. - Design.
- Nicolas (10/5): Great location and fantastic design. - Fantastic design and ameneties A little pricy
- Andreas (10/5): - One of my all-time favorite boutique stays. Stunning design, immersive art and atmosphere, and some of the best food and cocktails in Canggu. The vibe is effortlessly cool — I’ll definitely be back.
- Annalisa (9/5): Superb - We booked the pool suite. The space is beautiful. Simple brutalist tropical style. I loved the features and simplicity. And to finally sleep on a firm bed. I had the best nights sleep.
It is noisy - as it’s right on the main road. But nothing that keeps you up.
There isn’t a tv, a communal pool or coffee and tea in the room - BUT THERES A COMPLIMENTARY ESPRESSO MARTINI!!
A SPEAKER WITH MUSIC!
And if you book a pool suite and pool which is the coldest one yet!!!
I’d come back. It was wonderful.
- Sheryl (10/5): Excellent stay in a central part of Canggu - Excellent stay, most hospitable staff. No dislikes
- Niki (8/5): Great for a short stay! - If you are looking to stay in Canggu close to the beach/bars then this is a great spot. We had our own private pool which was perfect as we were there during Nyepi (day of silence) unfortunately there was no outdoor seating provided, just a couple of skinny cushions which didn’t provide much comfort on the hard concrete. The restaurant provided very yummy modern Mexican and we could basically order any time we liked. I ended up with Bali belly on my day of check out and the staff were absolutely so understanding and accommodating to my needs, which I really appreciate. Definitely a good spot for a short stay.
- Deutrom (9/5): Restaurant food excellent , staff welcoming, great position and cool vibe - Spacious suite and very edgy vibe A little noisy
- Abdullah (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, lovely staff, Sky helped us check in and out, was overall a good stay in a clean room
- Jenna (7/5): Comfortable, little bit luxe and great location for restaurants. - Beautiful interior! The shower was also incredible. I paid for a larger room that I didn’t need, that didn’t come with a private pool.
The booking system wasn’t great for trying to book the room with a dipping pool.
So I clearly over looked it. I paid more for a room without the pool on the side. Apparently they are very limited on those rooms, so I couldn’t “downgrade”. It was so hot in Bali, so I wouldn’t recommend booking this if you’re really wanting to dip after being out in the heat. The close beach doesn’t make up for it (dirty with rubbish, black sand, high tides and rough water at times)
Also - they don’t have a kettle or tea. So you have to buy tea from their restaurant. You can have a free cocktail though on the house, but no tea offerings. Which I thought was bizarre for the price of the hotel.
- Anaïs (7/5): Good -
- Jyoti (9/5): Superb -
- Jiten (10/5): Beautiful property, great location in central Canggu, close to entertainment and shopping. Great bar and restaurant righ - Aesthetic and service N/A
- Beatrice (7/5): Good -
- Ryan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ryan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kelsey (10/5): Amazing rooms, staff, and location. Also floor length mirror was our first of the trip and the best! - Walkable to everything in Canggu, great restaurants and good staff Nothing
- Ann (10/5): A GEM OF CANGGU! - SO HAPPY we decided to give The Slow a try! Location is absolutely perfect - one of the best parts of Canggu to stay at (and trust us, because we are in Bali more than 4 times a year for the past 11 years). But most importantly is how AMAZING the staff are, especially Wulan. She helped us with SO MUCH throughout our stay, and always with a smile and a cheery attitude.
Do note though, there are no elevators and no TV in the room, but…small shortcomings compared to the great location and the excellent treatment + service you’ll get. Definitely recommend!
- Mariam1987 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marketa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Owen (9/5): Loved The Slow we stayed for the room and it delivered will book next year - 80s California Retro cool The restaurant was very quiet
- Xuechen (9/5): Superb - The location is amazing. The staff are friendly. I had a bit of issues with the noise. The staff helped me to change the room the next day.
- Maobin (9/5): Superb - Good vibe. I feel young. Noisy at night
- Fajer (8/5): Very good -
- Shu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zi (5/5): Passable -
- Lipi (4/5): Decent stay in Canggu - Suite was spacious. Decor is lovely. The DIY espresso martini kit was a nice surprise. The restaurant attached to the hotel- Maize- had rather good modern Mexican cuisine. I particularly liked the locally made bathroom amenities Given the property is on a very busy road that’s in use pretty much all through the night, better noise proofing is a must. We had trouble sleeping even with ear buds in :/ Value for money wasn’t great- the pool was smaller than I expected, the area was noisier than I thought it would be. Lastly, we had a roach and worms crawling in from under the suite door, and while insects go with the location, they should be stopped at the door
- Hervito (7/5): Was ok. - Location. Mosquitoes, smell of mosquitoes repellent, the hot shower didn't work as well on day.
- Theresa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Virginie (10/5): Exceptional - love the slow, very easy and practical for me when I come for work, staffs is always incredible .
love it I was surprise that they change the restaurant, I loved the breakfast before
the new restaurant isn't me, sorry
