• Adrien (9/5): Un bel hôtel, avec de belles infrastructures wellness et un bon rapport qualité/prix - La vue sur le lac Arenal. Le spa et l’ambiance générale du lieu. Les petites maisons sont assez confortables mais pas très propres. Il faut presque se déplacer en voiture pour aller à la réception tellement le domaine est grand. Le repas du soir ne vaut pas le coup. Mais comme l’hôtel est assez éloigné, nous n’avons pas eu envie de nous déplacer.

• Michael (9/5): Great location and facilities in Arenal, especially for the yoga and vegetarian food. - The site - wilderness, animals, walking trails. Food was amazing. The yoga was great. Night tour with Aurelio was great, as was massage with Daniela. Personal touch by the staff - they remember our food and drink preferences. The road through the site is very steep, recommend 4x4 to access parts of the site. A system to avoid face to face traffic on the hill would be good. Rooms need more hooks and storage.

Nakšņošana teltīs ir neadekvāti dārga pret to reālo stāvokli. Diemžēl jāatzīst, ka tās ir vecas, nokalpojušas un nekādā veidā nerada labu glamping pieredzi diemžēl.
• Alvarado (8/5): Nice place - I liked the location—far away from the overcrowded 'resorts' but close enough to the places worth visiting. The view of the Arenal Volcano and the lake is amazing. The organic and environmentally friendly concept is what makes this place different. I also liked the spa, the Turkish bath, and the Swedish sauna. The cabins need soundproofing; you can hear literally everything in the next room. Additionally, they need a fan, as the wind is not enough to combat the heat. I would also suggest adding some meat to the menu. You definitely need a car, or you should be prepared to climb one or two very steep hills on foot

Property includes incredible jungle trails, and trail to a beautiful view of Arenal lake and volcano. Lovely pool and facilities. Highly recommend the jungle night walk - extremely informative, superb guide. Two of the family had massages, also recommended. Great location.

• Christina (3/5): Keine Empfehlung! - Die freundlichen Mitarbeiter und das gute, vegetarische und frische Abendessen und das Ökologische Konzept, die Yogastunde Leider haben wir uns in unserem Häuschen gar nicht wohlgefühlt! Wir haben gleich um einen Wechsel gebeten, das ging leider nicht. Es war alles sehr in die Jahre gekommen, nicht wirklich sauber (nach Hinweis auch nicht), Schimmel an den Wänden, dunkel, teilweise eklig … die Außenschiebetüren gingen nicht zu schließen (auch hier haben wir nachgefragt, hat nichts gebracht), es standen 2 alte Plastikstühle vor der Tür, daneben türmten sich die Ameisenhügel am Haus, der Pool war unbenutzbar (eine kleine Wanne mit milchigem Wasser), und ich könnte noch viel mehr aufschreiben….wir waren ehrlicherweise froh, dass wir nur 2 Nächte gebucht hatten!

• GÖTZ (9/5): Une adresse Coup de cœur - Magnifique et grande structure écologique très bien placée qui offre une vue incroyable sur le lac et le volcan Arenal. Très bien située pour visiter la région et possibilité de balades dans le domaine de l'hébergement. Nous avons pu profiter du sauna et jacuzzi sans supplément ce que nous avons beaucoup apprécié. Nous avons été accueilli chaleureusement par Fabien et toute l'équipe est très sympathique et aux petits soins pour les clients. Nous nous sommes régalés au restaurant qui propose de délicieux repas végétariens à prix doux. Les petits déjeuners sont un peu plus chers mais également délicieux et copieux. Un sans fautes Les tentes sont un peu vieillissantes, on aurait aimer pouvoir les fermer totalement surtout en cas de moustiques. On a eu de la chance, nous n'en avons pas eu. Ça n'a pas du tout perturbé notre séjour mais voir ça comme un point d'amélioration.

Le jacuzzi est agréable J'ai du partir (raisons personnelles) et ne faire qu'une seule nuit : le petit déjeuner (bon) m'a quand même été offert ! L'espace de toilettes partagé, le fait qu'il n'y ait pas de serrure ou de portes, le petit déjeuner payant, le prix pour la prestation proposée. • Anusuya (8/5): Immersed in nature. - If you’re looking for a place where the jungle whispers, the volcano broods dramatically in the background, and your stress quietly packs its bags — Essence Arenal is it. 🌿🌋 The views of Arenal are unreal (yes, that postcard volcano), the vibe is peaceful without being pretentious, and the whole place feels like a little eco-paradise you accidentally stumbled upon and now don’t want to leave. Bonus points for the yoga deck — main-character energy unlocked. Huge shout-out to Jesús, who basically deserves his own five stars. Warm, attentive, and somehow always one step ahead of what you need — he’s the kind of staff member who turns a great stay into a memorable one. Would 100% come back. Might “accidentally” miss my flight next time.

Tolle Aussicht auf den See und Vulkan Der Weg zu den Casitas ist schwierig , da sehr steil und rutschig, wenn man zu Fuß geht. Man braucht häufig das Auto, um zum Spa und Restaurant zu kommen. Problematisch bei schlechtem Wetter. Es fehlen Ruhebereiche bzw. Sitzgelegenheiten außen ( Terrasse) an den Unterkünften. Das könnte verbessert werden.

Le personnel est super aimable, le restaurant et les petits déjeuners sont excellents. Nous vous conseillons de faire les activités avec Aurélio (morning bird tour et plantation de cacao). Il est très passionné et nous avons appris plein de choses. L’espace détente (sauna, hammam etc) est super!! La masseuse est super aussi! Excellent massage. Bref, rien à dire! Tout est top!! Il a plu beaucoup mais ça ne nous a pas empêché de faire toutes les activités prévues.

Yoga is $12 which tots up. The pool is a paddling pool and covered in bugs. It was raining during our stay and you are not in the mood to do the outdoor spa when its cold and like this. The costs add up if you want to do something fun.

• Amy (7/5): - Beautiful surroundings with lovely walks. Free coffee! Laundry service. Good tours offers- we did the birdwatching tour which we highly recommend It was not clear when shuttles were available and the accommodation we were in was a moderately difficult hike to reception through the forest which we were not aware of before booking. Food was nice but only available between certain times and a set menu in the evening. In addition they stopped serving at 830 but last shuttle to accommodation was at 8! If you don't have a car it is more challenging to explore the area, there are very limited taxi services but the staff do have friends who they can recommend but expect to pay a bit more!
• Willemijn (9/5): Amazing nature, food and yoga experience! - A resort focused on nature, yoga, healthy body and mind. Cosy rather than posh! Enthusiastic staff. The food and yoga were amazing! The trails on the terrain itself are beautiful. Don’t miss the trogon trail. Our apartment was very comfortable and we got a nice upgrade; thank you! Nothing, but it is good to know that the resort is spread out across a big area. There are shuttles on site, but a car of your own is most convenient.

We did a three day full body detox and felt supported all the way. Lovely wildlife and excellent yoga sessions. Lovely views of the garden with hummingbirds. Excellent spa facilities! The seating I found uncomfortable.

The view from property captures the volcano, the lake and the beautiful green and lush mountainous landscapes. The environment is paradise at its best - stress free, healing and comforting. I loved everything at Essence Arenal: The staff is amazing, a feeling of being with your own loving family who genuinely cares about your every comfort. There are activities to educate and keeps you busy. Essence Arenal is a happy place.
• Bernd (9/5): Der richtige Platz, um Stress abzuschütteln, sich zu erden und die Natur zu erleben! - Ich war in einem Zelt. Von außen sehen die ziemlich heruntergekommen aus aber sobald man drin ist, fühlt man sich wohl. Holzboden, Holzdecke, komfortables Bett und die Veranda mit Ausblick. In ein Bambuswald ist der Hammer! Die Yoga Sessions mit Aurelio und Alejandro sind wärmstens zu empfehlen und auch die Massagen sind ihren Preis auf jeden Fall wert. Nico, der Eigentümer ist sehr nahbar und jeden Morgen da um nach dem Rechten zu schauen. Der Nightwalk mit Aurelio war unfassbar! Das Essen war zwar gut, jedoch für mich als Fleischesser zu vegan.

• Bettina (3/5): - Das Areal ist sehr weitläufig. Sie Zimmer befinden sich ca 1 km vom Restaurant, Rezeption und Spa Bereich entfernt. Diese Strecke kann man entweder über eine mir unzumutbaren Straße mit ca 30 Prozent Steigung oder zu Fuß bewältigen. Die Zimmer sind minimalistisch, bei Gästen der angrenzenden Zimmer kann man jedes Wort der Gespräche oder sonstigen Aktivitäten mithören, da die Wände sehr dünn sind und Handtücher bekommt man eines für drei Tage. Der Wellnessbereich ist sehr klein und meist so besetzt, dass man ihn nicht nutzen kann. Sollte es dann doch möglich sein, sind keine Handtücher verfügbar. Wir wollten unbedingt in ein Zimmer in der Nähe der Rezeption, da uns die Autofahrt zu den Zimmern große Angst bereitet und auch das Mitfahren im Shuttle unheimlich war, dieser Wunsch wurde uns an beiden Nächten nicht erfüllt, trotz eventueller Möglichkeit am 2. Tag. Die Lage ist sehr abgelegen. Restaurants wenige in der Nähe. La Fortuna 40 Minuten entfernt. Ich würde das Hotel nicht weiter empfehlen. Das Preis Leistungs Verhältnis passt dort auf keinen Fall.

The wellbeing facilities are amazing, the room was spotless and beautiful, and the dinners were absolutely delicious, made with fresh ingredients from the hotel’s own organic farm. Most of all, the people there were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Their outstanding hospitality truly made our honeymoon special and unforgettable. • Claire (10/5): - Superbe adresse au calme dans verdure avec à la fois un côté sauvage et en même temps le luxe de bénéficier après une randonnée de jacuzzi, hammam ou sauna ou piscine. La cuisine est excellente. Le personnel est au petit soin. Elenna parle très bien français et nous a organisé le transfert jeep/bateau/jeep pour Monteverde. Tout s est très bien passé. Nous avons pu nous reveiller avec joie au cri des singes hurleurs et repérer de nombreux animaux même un oiseau rare, le faucon rieur. Une très belle adresse sans hésiter!!

• galia (10/5): Fantastic experience to be right in the midst of a Costa Rican jungle. Howler monkeys and toucans literally outside your - Situated right on the edge of the jungle - wildlife flora & fauna literally at your doorstep Hard to get in and out (and even to the room) without a car.
• Lara (10/5): A Gem with fantastic views - The beautiful location and jungle grounds were fantastic. The staff was wonderful, friendly and very helpful. The vegan breakfast and dinners were so delicious, freshly made and locally sourced. We would love to come back in the future. Everything was great.

• Gerald Ziegler (10/5): Immer wieder gerne. - Es ist ein inspirierender Ort mit außergewöhnlich guter, vegetarischer Küche. Die Lage ist einmalig. Mitten in einem tropischen Garten, der von Nico über die Jahre wunderschön gestaltet und bepflanzt wurde. Die Vogelwanderung durch den großzügig angelegten Park war sehr lehrreich und beeindruckend. Bei Aurelio, unserem Guide, haben wir viel über Pflanzen und Tiere erfahren. Ein besonderes Erlebnis war die Temazcal-Zeremonie. Eine wunderschöne Erfahrung für Körper, Geist und Seele. Meine Frau und ich waren mit dem Aufenthalt sehr zufrieden. Es war wirklich alles in Ordnung.

• Alexander (10/5): Clean room with great facilities - Super great hotel complex, with a view of the volcano. We could see more animals from our room than on the hike in the national park! The staff were super nice and helpful, the food was awesome and everything was very clean👍

• kerstin (10/5): Amazing stay. I would come back - Breakfast was excellent. The staff was very attentive and nice, very personable. They were great in answering questions and organizing activities. The location is just beautiful, with a wonderful view at the volcano and in the midst of the rainforest. The farm is very unique. The room could have a couple more hooks to hang our wet towels or clothes. Also the walls were very thin. We could hear a phone conversation of our next door neighbor very well. Overall not a big deal. We could still sleep very well
• Anne (2/5): Très mauvaise expérience. - La vue sur le lac (on ne voit pas le volcan). Les montants de la chambre et des repas ne correspondent à ce qui est affiché car je me suis rendue compte au moment du check out que l’hotel a ajouté des taxes pour la chambre,+ pour chaque repas: petits déjeuners, diners... alors que dans tous les autres hôtels, les taxes sont comprises dans les prix affichés. Résultats, le rapport qualité prix est très mauvais. Les chambres sont petites, très vieillottes, pas de drap le 1er soir...très difficiles d’accès..D’ailleurs nous étions les seuls cliénts.. petit déjeuner trés cher non compris.

• elisabeth (8/5): Great place to do a reset! - Essence Arenal is very authentic and genuinely beautiful! It is far from Fortuna and it’s ugly restaurants and stores. Very quiet! Great view on the volcano! The park and farm around are amazing. You live very close to the forest and can observe the birds and insects quietly. The yoga classes are excellent and very inspiring in this gorgeous surrounding. The food is delicious, cooked mostly from the products of the eco farm. The personnel is absolutely dedicated and adorable !! I recommend for people in search of simplicity and beauty! Better with a car even though I didn’t have one and managed a few excursions ( taxis are expensive and scarce !)
