Guest Reviews
- Ivan (8/5): Beautiful traditional apartment - This accommodation was a beautiful traditional venue with all it's rustic and creaky authenticity. The location was very quiet (and also means you are rightfully expected to be quite) and very conveniently close to the subway station.
Unfortunately there was clearly an error in anticipating my stay as bed sheets were not clean, had stains and other peoples hair on them. Any issues were very quickly resolved - however the issue with the sheets was too late at night and meant sleeping in used sheets - yuck...
Tolles Brot, was eine Wohltat darstellt.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Cute homestay in the heart of Kyoto - My husband and I wanted to experience staying at a traditional Japanese home and was glad we got to stay at Mr. Hayato's place. The location is perfect as it is near many amazing restaurants in the Gion/geisha district. We could walk to a lot of places very easily.
The home itself is unique as it is an old renovated home that is two stories. The bedroom is upstairs and could probably sleep 4-5 people comfortably. The upstairs has a heater and we slept comfortably.
It was really cold in Kyoto when we arrived and found it too cold to chill downstairs. However, we realized that it gets warm if you sit still long enough to allow the heated floors do its job.
Overall, it is a great place. We definitely recommend this place especially for small families and a small group of friends. Be careful of the steps though as it is very steep. As such, we would not recommend this place for elderly people.
