• Victoria (1/5): It was HORRIBLE - Nothing It should be considered one star. There were people doing drugs outside, walking around with weapons, and I felt extremely uncomfortable staying. I had a friend pick me up, I did not spend the night there.

The new management is very cooperative and patient with all my physical needs. Downtown is often an issue of safety and finding a place to stay at a reasonable price. We have chosen to be long-term residents until another opportunity arrives.

To their credit, the lady working and maintenance man tried to help and did end up bringing us a new bed frame at 9:30 pm. They were trying, the motel is bad, do not recommend.

• Travis (10/5): Hidden secret - Fast check in. Very friendly clerk. Fast and easy checkout. Location is perfect if you are doing anything downtown and don't want the hassle of driving and then finding parking. Room was in excellent shape, everything worked and the beds were very comfortable.

There is full size kitchen sink with counter space. There is full bath and the shower hot water NEVER let you down and it can get extremely hot 😅. They have reliable television. Location is quiet and convenient to restaurants and cafes within walking distance around downtown. Staff is amazing and a well organized team. They will clean your room thoroughly. I have memories at this motel and I appreciate their hospitality!

Hotel is older, but in good condition. not fancy but suited our needs just fine. gathering area with grill and seating, while we didn't get an opportunity to use- was a nice bonus especially for a group. Our only complaint was our towels were stained. we ended up getting our own. If we had an occasion for the two of us again to return to Colorado Springs, we would definitely consider going back.

• Kelly (6/5): Nice upgraded furnishings but dirty - Upon checking in I realized that my room had not really been cleaned very well, but I was too exhausted to deal with it immediately. The next morning when I went to make coffee I realized that the carafe still had coffee in the bottom of it and it had not been washed. I also realized that my feet were filthy black from the floor which meant it had not been mopped. Also in the bathroom, when I moved the toilet paper holder, there was a used bandaid and wrapper underneath it. Yet another indication it hadn't been mopped and cleaned thoroughly. The TV remote was missing the back and only worked if you were standing right next to the TV with it pointed at the receiver. This is a older place with a huge upgrade in furnishings which would have made it super nice, if it had been cleaned properly!!

The staff was very friendly and quick to fix any issues at check in. Even with the updated look, it still feels dated. Not a bad stay, but not great either. Would recommend bringing your own pillow. The ones here go flat instantly.

• Suzanne (8/5): Downtown surprise - The room was clean and had been remodeled. The towels are super soft and the bed comfortable. The motel is in the downtown area of Colo Springs which does have a higher percentage of homeless than the more suburban/highway areas. That said, we felt safe and had no issues. We were careful not to leave anything in the car though. I liked this motel and the walkability to downtown businesses. It was a short walk to several great restaurants and bars.

• Penny (4/5): Sketchy Motel - The tenants in the building were incredibly sketchy and it didn’t feel safe. The room was semi clean but the air conditioning unit smelled so bad and the wires hung out and were a tripping hazard. The whole room smelled so bad… I’d never stay here again.

• L4388JPmirandar (2/5): Absolutely Unsafe - This was one of the scariest experiences I’ve ever had while traveling. While staying here, someone tried to break into my room. The door opens with a code, which makes it even more terrifying because it’s unclear who has access. I immediately called the police, but absolutely NOTHING was done, I had zero trust in this place keeping me safe. I was left feeling completely unprotected and ended up leaving. If you value your safety, do not stay here. This motel is not secure, and the thought that anyone could have my door code still makes me furious.

Room was spotless, bedding was comfy, and all the staff we had contact with were super friendly. This will be our place to stay when visiting Colorado Springs.

• Olivia (4/5): - overall the staff was wonderful when they were there. the motel isn't staffed overnight though. no one was there in the morning( 6am) when i needed to check out. the photos appear to have been taken awhile ago because you could tell there was a lot of wear and tear on the walls, mirrors, tiles, floors. There was also no headboards?? also couldn't find the ice machine, and no staff was there to guide me to it.

The TV didn't work because the internet sucks there. The mattress protectors only cover about 75% of the mattress. There are no pillow protectors on the pillows either. They provide you with body wash, but not shampoo. The toilet seat in 1 of our rooms was crooked. The shower in another room was dirty.
• Sunshine63613799474 (2/5): DO NOT STAY HERE — UNSAFE, hostile, and deeply unprofessional. - DO NOT STAY HERE — Unsafe, hostile, and deeply unprofessional. I had to call the police during my stay at Modern Motel in Colorado Springs due to an extremely threatening and unsafe incident involving the motel’s staff. I booked my stay in person and was told that late checkout until 1:00 PM would cost an additional $20. I confirmed this with the front desk and found the same policy clearly listed on their website (I have a screenshot as proof). The next morning—before 10:50 AM—three men aggressively pounded on my door claiming to be “maintenance,” yet none of them had tools or equipment. I was alone and undressed, and told them I didn’t need maintenance. One man said he “couldn’t hear me” and told me to open the door. When I said I wasn’t dressed and repeated I didn’t need assistance, he responded, “I’ll be opening that door in 8 minutes either way.” This was well before the checkout time I had paid for. Understandably, this was both suspicious and alarming. Why were there three men? Why no tools? Why were they threatening to enter my room before my confirmed checkout time? I quickly threw on sweats, opened the door, and explained that I had arranged a 1 PM checkout. They ignored me. Moments later, a fourth man—either the manager or owner—arrived and immediately began yelling at me to “get out.” When I tried to show him his own website confirming the 1 PM checkout policy, he shouted, “I don’t care.” When I began filming the encounter (as a safety precaution), he escalated further. I retreated into my room, and he physically blocked the doorway, refusing to allow me to shut the door and get dressed. I told him this was harassment and that I would call the police if he didn’t allow me privacy to change and pack. He refused and insisted I could “get dressed right there” with all four men watching. I called 911. When I described the man’s appearance, he became enraged. While I was actively on the phone with the police, he stepped fully into my room, yelling: “You better get out before you get a surprise you won’t like.” Let me be clear: I was a young woman alone, being threatened with violence, trapped in my room, and denied basic privacy by four men, including the manager. This was terrifying, violating, and completely unacceptable. I was harassed, intimidated, and treated with outright hostility despite having proof I was acting within the hotel’s stated policies. At no point did anyone take responsibility or deescalate the situation—instead, it worsened as soon as I advocated for myself. If you are a woman—especially traveling alone—do not stay here. This motel is not safe. The staff’s behavior was aggressive, inappropriate, and dangerous. I have filed formal complaints with the management group, the booking platform, and state consumer protection authorities. Please protect yourself and stay somewhere else.
