• Dawn (6/5): - Once upon a time this was a lovely hotel. I understand that the pandemic took its toll. The area outside was (overgrown bushes and grass). The interior lobby and dining room area were the only things that have been kept up as that is how they made their money (conferences and the like) The rooms are spacious, but the walls and ledges have cracks and missing plaster. The beds were comfortable, air conditioning worked and was necessary or the room would feel stuffy . Linens were changed daily. Showers had great water pressure. Breakfast was adequate but got old for us after a few days (eggs, rice, rice porridge, hot dogs, occasionally they might have fruit). There was a lovely large pool that we did not use. They do allow locals to swim there for a fee so many children were there during the day. Overall our 6 night stay was okay. Hopefully someday they will take the time to update the rooms.

• Richard (8/5): - The old girl is in need of a facelift. She barely survived covid and is operating with a skeleton staff. Drywall repairs that were done 5 years ago when we last visited still have not been taped and mudded. Carpets are getting pretty rank as well. But, since she's the only hotel in Kalasin with a swimming pool, we will continue to book. (We have relatives in town). The staff that is still employed are very good.

Kamers zijn ruim en heel schoon, maar alles erin is versleten, de gordijnen hangen er gerafeld bij. Maar alles werkt en een goed matras, hard.

• Sira (8/5): A little renovation would go a long way - The property is old, but it must be among the best of its kind in the entire province. They should get rid of the carpet in the hallway of each guest floor as they were moldy and difficult to clean thoroughly. The tub is old but sufficient for a good warm soak. Not perfect but i like it.
• Karen (4/5): Disappointing - The hotel is very big but very old and needs updating badly. Had to change rooms as bathroom ceiling was moldy and the hallways smelled real bad, thinking it was maybe from the carpets which are old and worn. Has potential but needs way too much work to keep up.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Großartiger Pool - Es ist wohl einer der größten Pools in Thailand mit makellosem reinen Wasser. ICh hatte das Standardzimmer zum Supersparpreis gebucht. Diese Zimmer sind recht heruntergekommen mit durchgelegenen Matratzen. Aber für den Preis stimmt alles. Kein Shampoo!
• Nigel. (10/5): - We have stopped at this property several times. It is very clean and the staff are excellent. The decor of the hotel needs updating to bring it up to better standards which we have noticed over the years nothing as been done.

• Verified traveler (4/5): - If you get room 807 ask to switch! The air conditioning started to leak a lot. It was literally raining from the air conditioner in the middle of the night. One of my shoes was soaking wet and I went to the airport with only one shoe on. Told the staff and they didn’t seem to care. Be wary of this place.
• Verified traveler (6/5): - This is the second time I've been to this hotel and things haven't improved. The room is large but had a musty damp smell. The smell of damp was present in a lot of the hotel. Had a massage in the hotel on both occassions. The massage was good but it is in the basement odf the hotel which smelt damp and the aircon was set too cold. As it was a Sunday there was only one massage person available so my wife and I had to take turns. I went first and then had to wait in the cold aircon which negated the positive effects of the massage.

• Michael (6/5): Adequate for an overnight stay. - Was quiet and did sleep well. Staff was very friendly and inviting. Served our purpose for an overnight stay. Our room could use some paint. Walls and the bed covers had obvious stains. No complementary water, kettle, coffee, or tea in-room. Morning breakfast was also adequate. Didn’t really expect more overall for the low price. Fairly close to the bus station and short walk, but would recommend Tuk-Tuk if carrying luggage.

• paul (2/5): Dreadful hotel! - Wow. Where to begin. This hotel was, I imagine beautiful 20+ years ago but nothing has been upgraded since then. Everything feels old and tired. There is a pool but it is filthy and there is no gym. The corridor to the bedroom stank of smoke and was very old. The bedroom was ok with a good bed, but the bathroom was very bad with a poorly flushing toilet and the air conditioning barely functioned. We had booked in for 3 nights but only stayed one. This is a dreadful hotel and I would not recommend it to anyone, ever! I travel all over the world and this is right up there with the worst I have ever stayed in. Avoid!
• Verified traveler (8/5): - The old gal is showing her age. If you want a pool, as we do, Rimpao is your only choice in Kalasin. Unfortunately, because it's the only pool in town, Rimpao opens it up to the public at large. This makes the pool very unappealing on weekends and afternoons after school hours. At one point from my upper floor room I counted 47 kids in the pool at one time with countless other on the decks. The noise was intolerable for a relaxing lay around. Additionally, the entire property needs a major remodel. No in room safes, scant electrical outlets and the condition of the painted surfaces is horrible. I have in-laws nearby so I've stayed many times and will have to return if I want a pool, but I'd sure like to see them change their use policy.

• ろっきい (6/5): 十年前と進歩が感じられない - 豪華な外見の老舗ホテル。朝食付きで値ごろ感がある。しかし朝食の種類、品数は10年前と変わらないレベル。 広いけれどそれが無駄になっている部屋。グレードの高い部屋なら見合った設備があるのかな。 今や設備としては絶対必要ともいえるWiFiは部屋では使えなかった。ロビーなら電波は入るが、通信速度が遅くてメールを読んだり返事を書いたりするのがせいぜい。 フロントでWiFi役に立たないと申告すると電気技師が来て、スマホで部屋の電波強度を調べてくれた。電波は来ているがつながらない。通信速度が遅く、設備を刷新するしかないようだ。 良い立地と豪華な建物が活かされるように、活力をもって施設のメンテナンスやマネージメントをがんばってほしい。
• Vincent (8/5): Best Hotel in Kalasin - The Rimpao Hotel is the only luxury hotel in Kalasin. The huge lobby is striking, and the huge pool is the best in the city. The location is satisfactory, within walking distance of the Regional Bus Terminal and the nightclubs there. The hotel restaurant is adequate, but the kitchen is best for Isaan Thai, and rather weak for Western fare. The WiFi is weak and intermittant, and the electrical wiring in guest rooms is not as useful as in other good hotels, with only four sockets, none of which can take a three-pronged plug. There's an excellent barber shop, a massage parlor, and a snooker room, downstairs. The rooms are spacious but tend to be run-down, with chips and cracks and black areas. Nevertheless, if you must stay overnight in Kalasin, this is far and away the best hotel in that city. The cost per night is quite modest, so the hotel provides excellent value for the money spent.

• Rich (6/5): Not mant choices - Rim Pao is in desperate need of a facelift. We were there ten years ago and I don't think it's received so much as a coat of paint in that time. If you, as I, require a pool at a hotel than this is your only choice in Kalasin. Too bad they're not keeping up with maintenance, this place has good "bones" and could be a very nice hotel.
• STEPHEN (8/5): brief but happy visit - I stayed 1 night in order to visit a museum and temple in the north of the province. I arrived late at night, check-in was quick, hardly anyone around. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were a bit on the thin side. In my short time there, everything was ok, I liked the atmosphere and feel of the hotel, its a little dated but has character. Breakfast was average, I got coffee toast and fruits which was ok. I would stay again, no problem

• Sina (10/5): we will stay there again - This was our third visit to Kalasin and we have stayed at Rimpao every time since it was recommended by a friend. We like staying at Rimpao hotel. It's one of the best in the area with great staff and good facilities. The location is good too. The hotel has a good restaurant serving traditional local food. The swimming pool is amazing. The staff are long time employees and really care about the visitors. You will get the best views of the town from room since the hotel is one of the tallest structures in Kalasin.
